This is my son's favorite spot! We always get #21! But now they have Lao food! We've tried their papaya salad, and ka soy! They have the Lao version, and it got that padek taste I love. And the spicy is SPICY! The ka soy is also very delicious! Inside is spacious. The service is always good! I've known the owner for quite sometime now, it's always nice seeing him! Two fridays ago, came here to have lunch with co workers. We used to come here every other week before Covid. This is my first time back eating here since Covid. The menu has been added lots of Thai food items. The item I always ordered was the scallion beef noodle which is no longer on the menu now. Always my go to whenever I'm in the area. Really nice spot to hang out and eat some fresh noodles! They're now serving Lao and Thai food as well. The papaya salad was really good and Ho fun #21 always a must. Can't wait to come back to try the Ka piak and other Lao and Thai dishes. Looking forward to my next visit! read more

Haven't been back here since 2019. It's always empty when we go, so that means faster service. Ordered #21 Chow Jew Ho Fun, #31 Seafood Ho Fun, and #F2 Curry Shrimp Fried Rice. #21 was good, kind of similar to Vien Huong in Oakland and Mi Noodle House in El Cerrito, but it's definitely not Vien Huong. #31 was good as well, but they gave us 2/3 the amount of noodles and we refused to complain. #F2 was super heavy on the curry. Never had Chinese curry that potent that it tastes like an Indian dish. Grass jelly milk drink was overly sweet! I tried to shake it to mix it, but it wouldn't mix properly. The grass jelly stayed on top and the condensed milk and milk remained below it. First few sips tasted like smoothie. Never had grass jelly milk taste like that. Ended up tossing it. Lime soda and Milk tea with boba were both decent. Was super annoyed by the small plastic spoon which is extremely difficult to use for eating noode soups. I mean it's great for young kids, but not adults who can eat more than half an inch of noodle strand at a time. Kudos to going green on the paper bowls, but some noodles were stuck at the bottom. 3 stars for the noodles alone. but don't think I would want to eat in with their new choice of spoons for noodle soups. read more

I barely want to give them the one star. Just left this place an hour ago, long story short. We got the 21 and my friend had a bug in his. After I felt disgusted about it, the server or whomever refused to take my soup off the bill. How can you force someone to pay for something they barely at after you got a bug in your food? Super happy to have this in San Pablo. The owners and the wait staff are extremely pleasant every time I go in and I always enjoy conversing with them. I love love love the ho fun noodles, #21, of course. Glad to see they were busy with phone orders during lunch time today as I was a patron trying get a piece of that action too. I was out taking the dog for a walk at Point Pinole, and due to the sudden temperature drop, I had a craving for soup. I found a place close-by that specializes in Asian soups. Noodle 21 has a surprisingly extensive menu that seems to span Chinese, Vietnamese and Malaysian food. The staff was pleasant, the food tasty, and the order pickup was painless. Been coming to this restaurant on & off. Heard the restaurant is now serving Thai & Lao food. We dropped by this early afternoon for some lunch. It was fairly quiet when we arrived. The restaurant was pretty empty, we were able to sit wherever we pleased. We sat in the corner by the windows. It wasn't a good choice, because when the front door opens up; you can feel the breeze. In any event, we ordered the fried fish cakes, chicken noodle soup, #21 & the Khao Soy. The fish cakes are still good. No complaints on the #21 & Chicken Noodles. The Khao Soy was pretty good, but the lack of meat choices as I am accustomed to was a little surprising. The ground pork was tasty. Wish there were at least some tripe, meatballs, shrimp or something else besides just the ground pork. The restaurant seems to be in a better place with the Thai & Lao food. I would definitely come back to try the rest of the Lao food. Looking forward to try the Khao Poon, larb & papaya salad. read more

I have been ordering take out from this place for a whole year now since I moved to the area. I wouldn't say it's comparable to a similar spot in Oakland but I always get the number 21 and always taken it Togo. So far, the cashier seems nice. I never notice anything out the ordinary when it comes to my food. But one thing I don't like is when I call their phone line and it doesn't go through. Sometimes it just rings or goes straight to voicemail. It's like as if they want you to eat there, but I rather eat in the comfort of my home where my son can roam around the house and play. read more

Love coming here! This place really never disappoints and has the best comfort noodle dishes! Of course, I order the #21 but with extra kidney. Sometimes I get it with soup on the side but other times I get it as it is. They give a great portion of noodles and the workers are friendly. I've been going to this and the old location before so their menu is nothing new to me. But their flavors are always new every time I go. The menu says it is $9.xx. When checked out, It was not $9 but around $14. My friend's noodles went from $7 to $12. And the bottled water they provided charged $1.5 without letting us know. And when they checked out, they did not have the price breakdown listed of your foods ordered. They just have the total amount almost $60 for four noodle soups! You have to ask them how they got this numbers. The prices on the menu are fake. What a joke. Everything you did't ask for was charged. And my noodles was "forced" to charge to rice noodle. Lying about the price. Extremely pricey. No wonder why there were no one there and no pick up orders during the peak time. If you want to get noodles with soup so bad, go to a real pho place. The spicy wontons are popular here, they are made in house, the chili oil has a hint of sweet with enough spicy. #21 with soup on the side if you want the best of both worlds. We come here at least 6 times a month and we honestly love the food here. On this certain Sunday we decided to take the food togo. When we arrived we asked for extra sauce containers so that we can enjoy our food at home. They told us that they "can not give us extra sauce containers and that the limit per order is 3." We understood and offered to tip them an extra 20 dollars or even pay for the extra sauce. We love sauce!! The girl said "we don't know how much you will take" WHAT?!?!? I can definitely tell it's a family-owned restaurant and they all work together which is very nice to see. On my second trip I ordered their wings, house fried rice, and a chow Fun stir fry noodle... all three items were excellent and perfect for sharing... my friend and I shared all 3 items and left completely full. DON'T BOTHER. We went in during dinner hour (after 5pm) on Saturday night. Completely empty except for the guy that seated us. Right when I grabbed my chair, it was sticky. Same with the table itself. He handed us a newspaper style menu that had at least 6 pages and the dishes looked great. I was especially interested in the oxtail noodle soup and the maple leaf duck leg entree. I asked for the oxtail and he said, "sorry we don't have that because of Covid"...wait what? And so I said ok, I'll have the duck. He again said, "sorry we don't have that either." So I ask, "what do you have?" He says, we only have what's listed under "noodle soups" (basically pho). There's like 8 noodle soup options but by this time, we're so disappointed in this place that we just say thanks and split. This old asian man sitting in the middle tables looked immediately irritated that we walked in the restaurant. He pointed to a random table, but looked up at a clock while doing so. I always get the special house noodles (#21). Service is above average for an Asian restaurant catering to Asian people. Food is good overall and best in the area if you're looking for Chinese noodle soup. Price is a little expensive for what it is but they're pretty much your only real option for ho fun noodle soup around here so I don't mind. Similar to the old VH noodle in Pacific East Mall in El Cerrito. VH noodle is now "Mi" and the food seems to be the same. read more

This place has a lot of potential. Unfortunately, the quality of food doesn't match what I know they are capable of. I ordered: beef stew and honestly it infuriated me to no end. I get brought a bowl of noodles with chunks of beef (which were tender) and CLEAR BROTH that tasted like straight water. When I asked the manager "what entree is this?" And he flat out said beef stew to my face, integrity was lost and so was my faith in this establishment. We know beef stew is supposed to be fragrant, thick, and bold in flavor. I got none of that. It was probably the typical white girl treatment - "just give her the basic" The wontons in chili oil were delicious. The wontons themselves were a little on the undercooked side, the wrapping was kinda chewy but it was easy to look past because of the flavor Ordered the fried shrimp appetizer - it was okay, I was hoping for more of a shrimp cake flavor and didn't get it. Noodle 21 is basically VH but with more of a twist to some of the classics. Whatever the name change may be now I still stick to the OG. It's still #21 soup on the side, fish cakes, and the thick noodles instead of the ho fun noodles. The menus have changed now I feel like there are a bit more options. Now it's more clearly stated that you could get fish cake instead of kidneys for your noodle options. Also, some of the meat toppings are a bit different but still as good. The portions are more than enough as well. I will definitely be back to have all my noodle cravings satisfied! read more
