    Veggie pho to go with
    Jessica S.

Obsessed with this place! Hands down the BEST pho in town and I've tried a lot! I always order the veggie pho, but they've got plenty of options like shrimp, meatballs, and other meats if that's your thing. The owners and staff are seriously the sweetest they always make me feel so welcome every time I come in. Highly recommend!

Rare steak pho (small) taken to-go

After calling another pho restaurant in town and not getting an answer, I decided to give Noodle House a try. Though it was a few minutes further drive from where I'm staying, it was worth the trip! Located in the in shape shopping center off Davis Road, this unassuming little restaurant was already getting busy for the dinner time rush at 5:30 PM on a Tuesday night. If I hadn't been picking up soup due to being sick the last few days, I would've liked to dine-in; the restaurant felt cozy and inviting! Before I'd been waiting in the doorway for barely a minute, I was greeted by a gentleman from the back of the restaurant asking if I was dining in or picking up. I told him my order, and he promptly went back to grab it and blend up my boba drink! I suggest you come in early or call your order in ahead of time if you've got a time crunch. Once I got home, I simmered my pho broth on the stove to a low boil so my rare steak would cook once I added it along with the noodles, sprouts, onions, etc. It was delicious - I didn't need to add sriracha or anything. The spring rolls with peanut dipping sauce were also yummy; I'll be saving those for another meal later today. Would definitely come back here, and would choose to dine in next time to get the full effect; their menu looks pretty extensive, and I'd like to try some other other items too. All in all, Noodle House was a good experience!

We Have Been back here almost every week from the date of my last post. Still getting the great service and Delicious food. This place turned out to be Salinas's best kept secret for the last five years for anyone looking for the best Pho Soup.

I love coming here for dinner. It is a family owned restaurant, prices are very reasonable. I always order wontons & pho.

After tasting the pho, I was glad we went here. We also had the egg rolls and it definitely satisfied my craving.

Then curiosity finally won. I arrived mid-afternoon to a surprisingly packed house--always a promising sign. As luck would have it, one table remained, and an older woman kindly waved me over to claim it. About five minutes later she returned with a place setting, menu, and the essential opening question: "What would you like to drink?" (Water, in my case.) Three minutes after that, a younger server zipped past, apologized for the brief wait, and efficiently took my order. I went with the Sweet & Sour Pork lunch special ($13.95), which came with an egg roll and fried rice. The portion was generous enough to qualify as both lunch and a future encore at home. The egg roll and fried rice were solid. The sweet and sour pork was decent--loaded with pineapple chunks, though curiously missing the usual bell peppers. The sauce leaned a bit enthusiastically toward the "sweet" side as well. Still, it was a filling meal and I ended up boxing half for later. Friendly service, hearty portions, and reasonable prices--three good reasons I'll likely return and give the rest of the menu a spin. Today we decided let's give it another try after a good year or so away we were actually pleasantly surprised. We ordered the crab rangoons they were actually a bit too over cooked so this was a bit of a mis. Main dishes included sweet and sour pork the sauce was perfectly sour and sweet the pork was tender a tad over battered for my liking but crispy and fresh nevertheless. Cashew chicken was great tender pieces of chicken and zucchini and onions all sautéed in a delicious sauce topped with mounds of cashews. House fried rice was delicately fried with shrimp, chicken and beef and veggies complemented the main entrees well. Our service was pleasant and on top of refills and any other needs. The restaurant is a bit dated and in need of some tlc but overall clean.

I actually had to circle back to find it, which already made it feel like a bit of a hidden gem. Arriving around 1:30 pm, the dining room was completely empty at first glance. For a moment I wondered if they were closed, until I noticed the doors slightly ajar. Not long after stepping in, I was greeted and invited to sit wherever I liked, which added a relaxed, unhurried feel to the whole experience. I went with the Mango Beef Special Lunch Combo ($10.99) The dish came with generous crisp vegetables, chunks of mango that paired nicely with the zesty savory beef. The fried rice and chow mein leaned a bit on the mild side flavor-wise, but a touch of chili oil and some of the entrée sauce brought everything to life. The combo also includes soup of the day and your choice of appetizer, making it a well-rounded plate. Portion-wise, it's more than fair--especially for the price. In fact, it easily undercuts most nearby Chinese spots and even fast food options, in the later case being obviously fresher and more balanced alternative. This feels like the kind of place you root for. I'll be back to explore more of the menu--and honestly, I'd take supporting a quiet local kitchen like this over a fast food chain any day.

That is a .29¢ difference plus you get an eggroll and soup (dine in). Definitely see the value. Service was quick and thorough 5/5. The restaurant is definitely dated, but it's like a little Time Machine back to the past, as long as it's clean 4.5/5. I was told it'd take 15 minutes and it roughly was about that timeframe. One thing about the food tho.... It was decent fried rice a little dry, I like my chow mein thick, not too salty, kung pao chicken was light work, needs to be spiccyyyyier considering menu says "fine Szechuan cuisine". Eggroll was nothing to rave about 3.5/5. I'll be back to try other things
