My group of 6 were seated immediately. This is family style dining so main meal items are fairly large. We started with several appetizers: salt and spicy wings and squid, teriyaki shrimp, fried dumplings , and pork wonton. All were delicious but the favorite were the wings. They were crispy, flavorful and served hot. We put in a second order after the first were quickly devoured. Main dishes included Mongolian beef stir fry, shrimp fried rice, mushu chicken stir fry and hot &spicy noodle soup. Everything was amazing!!! We really loved the stir fry and will come for that again. The hot and spicy noodle soup was super spicy but so good and the fresh noodles made it 10 times better. Average review because our party was so divided on their opinions. Service was pretty lackluster. Our waitress did the bare minimums without a lot of friendliness. Other waitresses were much warmer to their tables so I think ours was just having an off night. My husband enjoyed his brisket soup and said it was flavored well & had lots of beef. My son had the wonton soup and it was pretty bland and only had two tiny wontons. It was just "fine". I did not like my mushu chicken at all. Very little veggies and chicken was very rubbery. We also had the honey teriyaki shrimp to start and while the sauce was nice, it definitely tasted like they needed to change their fry oil. So just average for us. We won't be back I don't think. The food at noodle man is quick, hot, and fresh. The noodle soups we ordered came out as hot as soup should be served and the noodles were thick and chewy, just as they should be. We love the cucumber salad , pork wonton in chili oil and the fried pork chops. We pretty much order the same things every time. Our daughter also loves the pork chops. Ambiance on a scale of 1-10 for me would be around a 7. Nothing fancy but it's clean and well maintained. It's been a while since my last review of Noodle Man on Sam's Drive near Sam's Club, just off Battlefield Boulevard in the heart of Chesapeake, so... let's get into it. This is a great place to take the little ones because they love to watch them do their thing in the kitchen while they're making noodles. Admittedly, I really enjoy watching the show as much as my granddaughter. The restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly and helpful with menu questions and suggestions if you're on the fence about what to order. They have a great selection of items with something for everyone. I will give you a warning that their portions are large so keep that in mind unless you're planning on taking some home with you. This is a cute, clean place with great service and good food. It's Asian, but with a twist. It's not like anything else I have ever tasted. The soups are really flavorful, smell wonderful, and come beautifully presented. We also had the cucumber salad. This is a staple anytime we are in the area. As always the food is good and fresh. The staff and service is great, very polite and attentive. The hubby ordered his usual Mongolian Beef and broccoli. I usually order the jalapeño chicken but this time I opted to create my own noodle bowl by ordering the vegetable stir fry, add jalapeño, chicken and shrimp and it was delicious. My friend and coworker Yoonie took me to this fantastic noodle place! When we first walked in we were greeted by a friendly hostess. The service here was really great. Our waitress was attentive and kind too. Yoonie, being the Noodle Man expert, ordered for us. We decided to eat family style (my favorite). Here's what we got: Salt & Spicy Squid: Such a great flavor! Crunchy and salty in an extremely addictive way. These were like fries in the sense that once you have one you can't stop eating them! Only complaint is a lot of the pieces were more breading that squid, but they still had an amazing flavor. Pork Wonton w/ Chili Oil: These were little flavor bombs! So tasty! This was my favorite of the three things we tried. They weren't too spicy and had the right amount of flavor. The scallions and peanuts on top added a very nice crunch. Tomato/Beef Brisket Noodle Soup: One word: DELICIOUS! They make their noodles fresh here which is such a beautiful touch. I loved how tender the beef was, it melted like butter in my mouth. Noodle Man is a hidden gem, or at least it was to me. I had never heard of it until I moved to Chesapeake a couple of years ago. You can see the staff inside the kitchen, hard at work making the noodles by hand. It's kinda hypnotizing watching them flip and pull the dough around. My favorite dish is the tomato and beef noodle soup, which is hearty and filling. The noodles are delicious and the beef is so tender. I've tried other soups from them, but this one is the standout in my opinion. Appetizer-wise, I enjoy their salt and spicy shrimp (doesn't have much heat, but I like the flavor) and their dumplings with chili oil. read more

Got the spicy chili sauce in a container to go for $5 because it's that good. My experience could've been a lot better if our young waitress was more pleasant. She was not attentive to our needs, I had to practically yell for her attention as she walked away so we could get utensils. And she would drop our food off like it was a drive by. I've been to their other location once, so I reread my other review and decided to retry said items here. I can easily say I wasn't as impressed this time. We came for a lunch date, since grandma was available to watch our newest little lady. Parking is in a shared lot, but we had no issue finding a spot. We walk in and are greeted promptly. We're taken to a booth which was pretty nice. It was so slow that every new party that came in was given a booth as well. I think the booths may be a little tight for some people, I know if I came in during my last trimester of pregnancy there is no way I would have fit comfortably. Soda machine was down, and the only tea I wanted to try, lychee was out. I got a water for my drink and the pork chili wonton for my appetizer. The appetizer wasn't terrible, but it didn't 'wow' me. I felt that it was underwhelming and not incredibly flavorful in any part. I think I over-hyped myself up after reading my previous review at their other location. I got the hot and spicy noodle soup, but if I'm being honest, I didn't really enjoy it either. The noodles were very thick at the ends. Instead of separating the strands completely, there were little sloppy thumb sized lumps of noodle that connected several pieces. I'm a visual and texture person, so having several blobs was really rough on me. The broth was just there. My husband was raving about his, but mine didn't really taste of anything but oil. The ground pork was really nice, but was hard to grab as it fell to the abyss of the bowl with the fork, and I didn't really want to slurp oil with the soup spoon. They do offer a military discount, so that was pretty nice. I can't say we'll be back, but you never know. read more

I've been to Noodle Man, countless times.. both at the Chesapeake and Virginia Beach locations. I prefer the Chesapeake location, as it's bigger and have more elbow room. I've tried a few dishes, but my favorite are the Salty and Spicy Squid, and the Tomato Brisket Soup. Aahhh.. where do I begin? If you love squid, or calamari, you have to try their Salty and Spicy Squid. The squid is cooked to perfection. It is crunchy, a bit spicy but not too much, and delicious! One of the best I've tried. The broth in their Tomato Brisket Soup has depth of flavors, and the noodles have a little bite to it.. which I love. I've also tried the jalapeño chicken noodles (good!), the salty and spicy chicken wings (also good but the squid is better!), chicken and shrimp spring roll (OMG! Delicious!) and the chicken fried rice.. which to me, is amazing, but if you are used to the nasty Panda Express fried rice, you might find this different.. or too authentic. Hehe. It's amazing when a second location is just as amazing as the first. With a bigger space, you might even say it's better as this is the location I pick if I'm dining with a group larger than 4. This location is clean (with clean bathrooms) with wonderful service just like the one in VB. I don't think the wait is bad nor does it feel as crowded as the VB location either. Anything salt & spicy on the menu will be a guaranteed hit, but the consistency, quality, and flavors of the salt & spicy wings keeps me coming back and taking these bad bois to-go. The kitchen is also open, but enclosed with plexiglass, so you can see the activity in the kitchen. They have counte/bar seating so you have front row seats to all the action. - Service - They've always been so nice and accommodating. - Noms - Salt & Spicy Chicken Wings - Nice and crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside, with slices of jalapeño (eat one with each bite for a nice kick) Salt & Spicy Squid - same as above. Lot more tentacles than body pieces, but these are so good. I've even eaten them as leftovers COLD and they are still good, but that's just me. Pork Wonton in Chili Oil - I could have eaten probably 3 orders of these. Seafood Noodle Soup - This soup is very plain, but it draws on each individual flavor of the seafood ingredients. Super clean and soothing. Mongolian Beef Stir-Fried Noodle - Big slices of beef with peppers and onions. Nice and hearty. Kung Pao Chicken Stir-Fried Noodle - I felt like this was similar to the Mongolian Beef dish, but great. Tomato & Brisket Noodle Soup - I've read so many reviews on this dish and didn't order it the first time because of the orders we made to accomodate our kids, but oh my! I just loved the flavor of the broth. The brisket was soft and packed with so much flavor, like they've been cooking it for hours and love the chunks of tomatoes and the baby bok choy. So warming on chilly days that we've been having lately. This is NM's 2nd location, I have yet to visit their original location in VB, but so thankful NM is nearby!
