this restaurant is a bit small but there was a decent amount of seating when we arrived (7:30pm). it felt very comfortable and cozy. the tables are placed quite closely together but it wasn't too busy so that was not a problem. our serviced was very polite and soft spoken. i loved everything i ate here! i have a few criticisms, for example the chicken feet was hard to eat because of how grilled it was, and everything was just a tad bit too salty for me, but the flavors were all amazing. this was my first time trying chicken laksa and i loved it. the chicken was so juicy and the skin was crispy despite being in the broth. i loved all the different vegetables the soup came with as well. my favorite barbecue was the bacon mushroom. you can never go wrong with bacon, and pairing it with mushroom made it feel less heavy and greasy. i was quite disappointed when the food took over 10 minutes to come out, but the meal was worth the wait. i will definitely come back here someday! read more

I am in complete shock right now. Where do I begin? I came in on Monday for the first time. I was super excited to try somewhere new that we might be able to frequent regularly. We ordered chicken wings, potstickers, chicken lo mein, and shrimp fried rice. We picked up the food and when we got home we noticed that the food was very bland, as well as no accompanying sauces. We went back out to the store and got soy sauce & sriracha. We came home to cold food, but nonetheless we ate. My partner wanted to give a bad review but I asked him to delete it, to give the benefit of the doubt. Welp that's when the trouble began! Starting around 11p until the next day all our stomachs were torn up badly. We did not sleep well at all due to this. When the restaurant opened I called to speak with someone about it. The google phone number was incorrect so I had to do some digging to find a working number. After 3 tries, a gentleman picked up but said he could not help and someone would call me back later that day (Tuesday). No one did. Bowie, the store manager just called me 2 days later. She refused to give me a refund because I was the first call she has had about a bad experience. She said if I was really sick, then I should've gone to the hospital. Absolutely loved this place! The food felt very authentic, and the restaurant was super clean which made the experience even better. The skewers were packed with flavor and cooked perfectly. I got the beef, heart, and gizzard, and all of them were juicy and not dry at all. The giant squid was my all-time favorite--so flavorful and delicious. I gave 3 stars because I love and appreciate the late night hours. They open until midnight! Yelp and posted hours are accurate. 2/5 for food quality, it wasn't anything I would crave for. I do want to come back to check out their soup since a few of them have taro which I like on specific dishes. I ordered mostly skewers since I wasn't too hungry and wanted to sample as much as I could. They do offer items you wouldn't normally get at typical restaurants: chicken gizzards and hearts. I ordered: Bacon Needle Mushroom (2 skewer) $6, Chicken Gizzard (3 skewer) $5.50, Chicken Heart (3 skewer) $6, Eggplant(1) $6, Chives (2 skewer) $5, Pacific Saury (1) $6.50. The chicken gizzard, chicken heart, and chives were all overcooked and not much of flavor. The chicken heart had a tad sweeter taste while chicken gizzard and chives were just salty. I did ask what sauce was used or how they were seasoned, the staff kept holding one of the condiment on the table up to me that looked like powder spice/salt which I didn't need it at all for what I ordered. I could tell he was tired of me asking so he said whatever the chef uses. I enjoyed the texture of bacon needle mushroom and they looked pretty as well. The eggplant cooked just right which I like but the blanketed garlic sauce came with it didn't really much for the flavor. The pacific saury came with a side soy sauce and mustard/wasabi or some sort which I didn't need it at all since the flavor was just right for me. If you haven't had it before, pacific soury has more fine bones than most so be careful with it. Casual setting with shared restroom in a hallway with other businesses on this strip mall plaza. Friday night I came back from out of town... at the airport. It's 10pm and I have cravings. I search what is open late near the airport. After many attempts Noodle Point came up....or maybe I passed by 82nd and Harrison Street and I saw an open sign. Usually the restaurants in this little mini plaza. TEO is there, a sushi place and other asian type eateries. They are always solid and authentic. Noodle Point it was late and I thought well do I try it. I enter and was greeted nicely. A couple people chatting. Someone was picking up a DoorDash the guy said to me...everything here is good. You're going to like this place. Many items looked good. Eggplant, lamb skewers, grilled squid. I settled in the soup with the egg noodles. The broth had many depths of flavor. Some fish patties, meatballs, Napa-cabbage, nice assortment of meats. The noodle had nice flavor as well. A small group of locals stopped in chatting... the server seemed to know them... they mingled ...Friday night they were enjoying themselves. Another table a couple reviewing the menu with eyes open. And still another table more locals. Authentic written all over the place. I would love to return to try some of the small plates. I've gone to Noodle Point for a long time now and to the restaurant that predated them prior to switching over to the Chinese BBQ format. Noodle Point is a nice and cozy space with an inviting and clean interior. I mainly go during normal dinner times but I absolutely love having this place in my back pocket as it's open til midnight, which is perfect for those late nights when I want to sit in somewhere and not get fast food. The Chinese bbq is fairly priced and is a little cheaper and is comparable to a newer place called The One down on Hawthorne, but I'd give The One the edge as far as taste and quality goes but it's a wash once you factor in value. Where NP shines for me is their premade hot pot meals that they called Foil Pans. The Beef one goes for $13 and is an incredible value in terms of taste, quality, and value. The clam variation runs a few dollars more and is excellent as well. I've had their grilled Oysters and thought that they were fantastic and priced well at $17.50/6 although they had a 3 oyster option earlier this year that I miss. Pair a foil pan with one or two of their cheap bbq skewers or veg and you will have yourself an excellent meal possibly under $20, but honestly the foil pan is plenty filling on its own. Their other noodle soups all look good and seem priced well but with their FP being so good I'm not sure I can take a break from that to try out more from their menu. Give NP a shot especially if you want a late night meal. read more

Love the Skewers! A must try place! Lately, I've been hooked on watching competitive eating videos from China, and I couldn't shake my craving for authentic Asian grilled skewers. So, when my brother suggested this spot, I knew I had to give it a shot. We kicked things off with some refreshing iced lemon black tea, and I was genuinely surprised by how much I liked it--considering I'm not usually a fan of iced tea. The balance of lemon and sweetness was just right, making it a delightful start to the meal. The Chef's special menu caught my eye with some new items, and I was especially eager to try the pork intestine and pig feet. They did not disappoint! The pig feet were seasoned to perfection, and the intestine had a beautifully grilled exterior while staying tender and juicy inside. The chicken hearts and gizzards were a pleasant surprise, seasoned so well you'd hardly know they were organ meats. The pork belly and squid had a perfect char, bursting with flavor. We also enjoyed the grilled eggplant and chives--light, refreshing, and a great complement to the meats. And the chicken laksa noodle soup? Incredible. The broth was rich and aromatic, and the noodles had a satisfying texture. I can't wait to come back, especially to enjoy the pig feet again--and this time, I'm eyeing the quail. My dad and I had lunch here today and we're very impressed. I've not tried many places in this little complex, but if you have to choose, try this one. For the place itself, it's tiny and can be a bit cold if sitting by the door, but it's very clean and had some cute decor. The staff is very nice and came back often to take dishes and see if we needed anything else, and there were quite a few other parties and to-go orders happening. I will say that I agree with some other folks that the food can be a tad slow and doesn't come out in any particular order, but for a soup and skewer place, who cares, didn't bother us one bit, and everything is hot and fresh when it does come. For the food, excellent. We split an order of the bacon mushroom skewers ($6), and one each was plenty. They are rich and the bacon is crisp and thick, very good quality. We also had the lamb ($7.50) and that was really well seasoned, juicy and fatty (in a good way) and the golden seafood soup ($16.50), which was a great broth with tons of veggies and meat, fish cakes were really flavorful. Nice rice noodles, thick and chewy and they don't get soggy as we took our time. I wish this place luck and hope they last. I will be back to try more options and let you all know! If you've been to Pot&Spicy, this place is a bit reminiscent of it, except for the fact that it leans more towards Chinese BBQ. There are rice and noodle dishes as well as appetizers, but there's also a variety of skewers. Service here is quick however, in my experience, all of the dishes came out very far apart from each other (which I personally didn't like, and I wish they came out within a smaller time frame so that I could enjoy them together--but that's my personal taste). I got the beef golden soup & the seafood kimchi soup--and they were okay. The portions were huge and there was lots of flavor. However, the quality wasn't the same and I couldn't really taste any kimchi flavor for my kimchi soup, which was a disappointment. The bacon needle skewers were pretty good, but the garlic oyster was way too salty. Overall, I was a bit disappointed and the food gave my partner and I an upset stomach; I don't think I would come back. read more

We discovered Noodle Point on Yelp and decided to come here for late night eats as it is one of the few restaurants open until midnight. Service was very slow, it took them at least 20 minutes to take our order but the food wasn't too bad! We also did not have very high standards so we were pleasantly surprised. We ordered the bacon needle mushroom (2 skewers) and yakitori lamb (3 skewers). My boyfriend ordered the beef laksa. There are quite a few noodle soup options but I wasn't feeling soup so I ordered the shrimp fried rice, which surprisingly came with a generous amount of shrimp given there was no increase in price compared to the other protein options. I enjoyed the skewers, particularly the bacon needle mushroom! It would be even better if they added more mushroom since it shrinks down once cooked. There are a couple appetizers that look appealing that we didn't get to try so we will be back for that and more skewers! read more

This is a decent spot for Chinese style bbq skewers. Not comparable to ones in China, but it will do for Portland. The skewers are heavily seasoned (as they should be) so it is only okay for me once in a while. I may ask them to use a lighter hand when seasoning next time. We ordered a variety of skewers and the laksa. I would skip on the laksa but all the skewers were good. I liked the lamb and gizzard the most. Skip the chicken feet and the chicken soft bone. They were out of chicken heart, but I will try it next time I come back. Our server was really nice, patient and helpful. the food was really awful. I only consented to go there with my friend because they had green peach tea, which I love... got there, and they were out. I ordered beef skewer and shrimp skewer and the "chicken chop" fried rice. I only ordered the fried rice because NONE of the menu items came with rice, noodles, bread or vegetables, so was not happy with having to pay $13.50 for an order of fried rice. Tea also costs extra, which is a little unusual for a Chinese restaurant. I would have expected to pay for the peach tea, but not just the house tea. The chicken "chop" was undercooked; the shrimp had the whole shell on, WITH all the little legs, and was just gross, so I only ate one of the three; the beef skewer had very strange seasonings-fennel and cumin-and was not good at all, aside from being tough. My companion ordered a noodle dish, which he said was fine, but was very oily, and I talked him into ordering the garlic eggplant, which turned out to be the only tasty thing there. if you're into trying weird things, this is the place...pork skin, blood soup, chicken gizzards and several other things one does not normally find on the menu. I do think it was probably "authentic," as we were the only non-Asians there, but if you're going out to eat to get food that TASTES good, definitely go elsewhere. Someone at a neighboring table had the quail, and that did look good, and recommend the eggplant. Would not go there again, unless there was a GUARANTEE of the peach green tea. read more

I was excited to find a restaurant that serves laksa. We were the only customers at 12:45 pm, Sunday. We ordered the beef laksa. I was expecting to get chunks of beef, like in beef noodle soup. Sadly, the beef was very thinly sliced, almost shaved. It was like the beef you get in a bowl of gyudon. There was lots of Napa cabbage, one triangle of tofu, three small rectangles of fried tofu, and some fish cake. Positively, the soup was piping hot. Often times, noodle/soup dishes aren't hot enough. The broth was a bit bland. I appreciated that it was not salty. My husband wished that it was more flavorful. I was happy that the soup warmed me on this cold day. read more

Noodle Point has taken over Pot&Spicy. While I am devastated that it's gone, I am also delighted to find Noodle Point offers an unique cuisine in the SE pdx area. We tried a few of their popular items like laksa, grilled items, and other noodle soups. All were well-flavored and authentic. The lemon tea were made fresh and had the right amount of tart, sweetness, and tea flavor. For appetizers, we tried the lamb skewers and grilled squid. The lamb skewers were juicy and seasoned well. My favorite has to be the grilled squid. The portion was huge for the price and the flavor was on point, it reminded me of the taste of Asia's street food. The only downside is that it is for dine in only at the moment so it can't be to-go and enjoyed at home. For entree, we tried beef golden soup, beef laksa, and tonkotsu. I personally liked the golden broth and laksa, just wish it's a little bit stronger in flavor but overall decent for its price. I love rice noodle so it's definitely a plus that it comes in that but I believe you can also ask for egg noodles as a secondary choice.
