Been eating their food since they opened. Recently not very often because it's so inconsistent. When it's on point it's very good, but too often it's just meh. Not good enough. Fast & easy fusion. SUPER accommodating with allergies! My partner is allergic to garlic, which is in almost everything especially fast East Asian food. They could make almost every dish without garlic! Giant portion, pretty reasonable for the price. The space is giant, and they provide separate bins for compost and recycling, and even recycle their chopsticks. It's cool to hear they're local to BC, too. This is the original location. My firm has ordered from this place before. But I have to say take out seems smaller than actually having it to eat in. So came here with a friend and ordered the Teriyaki Noodle with chicken and mild spicy. The noodle smelled so good. It was quite delicious but probably because I was hungry. Only issue was that there wasn't a lot of chicken and I have to say it is more expensive if you compare the portion size and price to what you would get for the same price at an Chinese or Japanese restaurant. At the end, I did notice the amount of sauce floating in the bowl. Yes my teriyaki noodle with chicken is stir fried but is not dry enough. All sauces still left hanging at the bottom of bowl. My friend ordered the Cambodian noodle with chicken. OMG it smelled so good and looked so good too. I didn't have a taste but can imagine. There are could of tables and a long sharing table (can be used for big groups as well). There is free sparkling water or still water depending on your preference. I like sparkling water and not a lot of places offers it. But of course that is a plus. Decor is not bad here. Ceiling is quite high. Interesting artwork on wall. Bathrooms are clean. Interesting place that Caucasians cooking Asian foods... It's nice noodle place but expensive for lunch. It was so quiet on Sunday noon, only 2 tables there. I found the reviews were pretty good on this place and really want to try it. Food was ok not impress at all. This place is decent if you've never had their food before their menu revamp a couple years back. They've seemingly adjusted their values and have taken quality and taste down a couple notches. They had better meat options before and now seemingly pad their boxes with more veg to cut down on noodles. I fell in love with Noodlebox when they first opened. They changed their menu a few years or so ago. The food was still good but they're best dishes came off the menu. We ordered from them a few times since then and it was always just o.k. We ordered again last night - Thai Style chow mien and Singapore curry box. The flavors were o.k. as usual. We added "crispy" chicken for both dishes since regular chicken wasn't an option. Big mistake. The chicken bits were super tiny, 99% bread crumbs, chewy, dry, and clearly a pre-made boxed item from the freezer. We had to pick out all the chicken bits so we could sort of enjoy the rest - over cooked noodles with no sauce. We also got the Cambodian spring rolls...those were really good. Had it delivered and it arrived relatively quickly and hot. It was good - not a whole lot of protein which was chicken in this case, but that was fine with me. I've had noodle bowls and boxes from lots of places and I'd put this one in the middle of the pack. Would have liked to see more veggies and sauce was nothing if not salt forward! I may only come here to get my peanut fix but, I do love the spice categorization too. I'm a mild myself, sometimes I dabble in mild medium, but my tongue usually regrets it! I can't say enough how bad my experience with the Kitsilano Noodle Box has been..and that is after trying to order extra sauce, extra veg to make a decent meal of their take out..Even after paying for extra sauce and vegetables, I ended up with a box of dry rice noodles that so needed to reconstitute with about a half cup of water and microwave. Noodlebox is perfect for what it is - a quick spot to grab a hearty bowl of noodles. I've tried most things on the menu over the years that I've been visiting, and pretty much everything has been amazing! The Pad Thai is my least favourite - I found it quite sticky, but that may just have been the day I was there. The black bean and garlic, Teriyaki, and spicy peanut are all awesome, and you can also sub out different types of noodles if you want. The udon is a great substitute! The space is light and airy and the booth is comfy. The stools are fine, but I'm not a huge fan of seats with no backs. The water taps now have both still and sparkling which is awesome! You order at the front, take a seat, and listen out for your name to be called with a giant steaming bowl of delicious! They have chopsticks and forks, and a few different types of hot sauce - all of which are labelled with a nice description. The bowls are giant and although I *can* finish them, I always feel like I'm about to explode when I do! The flavours are rich and vibrant, if not entirely authentic. But you don't come here for an authentic Thai/Chinese meal, you come here for a delicious bowl of noodles that pop with flavour - so go do that! It's well worth it! read more

As I walked into this hip and happening joint in Kits, the waitress asked me what I would like to order and how spicy. I already took a quick glance and I knew I was going for the Cambodian Jungle curry as I already tried the black bean and garlic Hokkien noodles last time! I said emphatically "Xtra hot" as their "suicide hot" option was probably too much for even my taste buds to handle. I got to take care of those wonderful taste buds if I going to keep Yelping! The Noodle box had humble beginnings as a refurbished hot dog stand to currently two Vancouver and several Victoria brick and mortar stores. It's sort of a fusion of South East Asian (Singapore, Thailand, Malaysian ) type noodle dishes. Amazing frankly to think that the first noodle box was literally a hot dog stand in Victoria! I like the lively atmosphere and the healthy options(split box and no carb box) that you able to customize with the dishes. It's self serve as you have to pick up your order when your name is called. I have to admit the prices are pretty high for this food court style service. They do offer appys like spring rolls, roti, dumplings and grilled satay but I haven't tried them yet. Most of the noodle dishes can be substituted with rice (brown also available). There's soup and curries options available as well. The food overall just doesn't have enough flavour. Kind of like a bunch of ingredients stir fried together and the sauce poured on top. Cool atmosphere but pricey unflavorful fusion food gives it a 3 star. read more

The few times I have, have been utterly disappointing. But that dish there? Solid option for fast food. I'm a fan of this little chain and happy to see one going up on Main within walking distance. It's a decent portion, at a half decent price and they serve Phillips beer. There's not much you can complain about. Bonus tip of the hat for stocking gluten free beer. I loved ordering on the phone on my drive back either the Teriyaki Box or the Red Curry Box, if I was in more of a noodle mood or a savoury-spicy mood. I almost always chose chicken. You used to hand out those "10 orders and you're 11th is free!" type dealy cards. I used up a couple of those. Things were hot, tasty, decently proportioned and handy for takeout, always ready in about 15-40 minutes after I called. But then... the same time you stopped giving out the deal cards, something happened and things went downhill, at least at this location. The food just didn't taste as good. I started getting diarrhea. Consistently. After eating there. It sucks to see a good place go down, but I'm done with Noodlebox. Danbo and Legendary Noodle House are my masters now. read more

I usually come to this place for lunch since it is close by, everything in their menu is in the $8-15 range and comes in big bowls, so you always have leftovers :) Everything on the menu has variable spiceness and choice of veg/meat/fish, so its highly customizable, and they'll work with you if you have food allergies/specifications. The only negative is the seating , they have a lot of space, if they only had it laid out better, i'm sure more people could fit. Decided to give this place one more chance and it disappointed again ( see my first review). As soon as we walked in at noon, the credit/ debit machine was not working. So they were only accepting cash. The cashier was new or something and was really slow . We sat down and waited for our meal after ordering . It took about 30 minutes for the food to come. When it came , it wasn't in a bowl but in a take out container. We never told the cashier we wanted to take it out . So they had to take the food back to the kitchen and put it in a bowl . Then the waitress gave our two bowls of noodles to the wrong table . The patrons had to take the two bowls back to the counter and the waitress then brought it to our table. We weren't impressed that strangers touched our food. My other friend ordered the ginger beef and she said it was awful . My wife was a big fan of Noodle Box when she lived in Victoria and introduced it to me here. The food is good but after the poor service we received we're done with it. We had ordered different dishes (through Door Dash) and they sent two of the same instead. When I called the restaurant to find out how to get it fixed the employee went from being unable to help, to not caring and then copping an attitude. At the end they hung up on my before I could finish saying "bye". It just really put us off when all they had to say was, "I'm sorry about that, contact Door Dash and they'll refund the order." As opposed to, "I don't know how to fix it, what do you want me to do about it?". To be clear, we've never been to the other locations so this is just about the Kits location. Excellent food, fusion Asian dishes of all kinds. The dishes can all come with your choice of protein chicken, prawns, pork, beef or tofu. I really enjoy coming in to see what the specials are they are always excellent, and often very creative. All of the dishes are good so you have lots of choice. There is micro brewery beer on tap and cane sugar based soft drinks as well as exotic fruit drinks. The food comes very quickly and the staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. I had the pad Thai box with a combo of proteins. I chose tofu and prawns. For spiciness, I chose mild. I thought there was a pretty good amount of tofu and prawns. The noodles were very flavourful and it felt fresh with the veggies on top. The only downside was because they really pack it in, it was hard for me to eat the noodles out of the box. Don't think you have a say in what level of spice you get here because no matter what you pick you're getting whatever the chefs feel like giving you.
