8/19/2022 - Zucchini noodles, garlic sauce & orange chicken.
    Mikhail H.

I now realize that I should have given the spot a go long long ago.. I decided to order in to order in and I was really craving pasta. For me this means I want a mouthful or 2 of pasta with a pile of vegetables and some meat. Unfortunately most places give you a vat of pasta covered in an insane amount of cheese and they threatened it with a vegetable.. Do not get me wrong, I see you folks that really enjoy this and and I seriously love that you can have that! I am just not built for it and never really have been. Here, I was actually able to get 2 different dishes which were both phenomenal. Then I also ordered bread with marinara... Everything I ordered was amazing.. I requested the zucchini noodles In a garlicky sauce with grilled chicken. I also got tortellini with, I think Orange chicken. The Orange chicken was not what I was expecting so maybe I didn't get that... but everything was delicious. I have no complaints and definitely plans to order again and probably with frequency since both dishes came with a bunch of vegetables. Finding delivery/take out with vegetables a plenty is nigh impossible. I cannot stress enough how in love with their zucchini noodles also!

    Beef stroganoff

Well... If I had read the reviews I would have saved myself from a bad meal. Let me preface this by saying the staff was very friendly and service was great! I know it's a chain so my expectations weren't crazy high, but the stroganoff was about on par with high school lunch. The noodles were very dry and it was EXTREMELY lacking in sauce. I can't explain how dry and therefore bland the noodles were.

Mac and cheese. The cheese is missing. We definitely expected cheese and all we got was a light sprinkle of cheese on the top layer we ate.
    Caprice W.

Food was horrible. Ordered Mac and cheese and they sprinkled cheese on the top so we had two bowls of dry noodles that also weren't cooked all the way. My daughter and I use to come here all the time but it's been a while since we've been to this location. We will never go back after this. Total was of money and time. Very disappointing

I ordered the chicken Parmesan and it was awful, there was not enough sauce and the noodles were dry. I feel like I wasted my money.

We had an out of town guest and we did not want to fuss with cooking at home nor sitting in a stuffy noisy (or super quiet) eatery! Sitting out side before sunset, was the perfect setting on our Monday night. Our waitress was super interactive and very genuine with her assessments of the dining & alcoholic beverage choices. For adult drinks we had an excellent Next Level IPA brewed & branded for Montelupo, Rose special and glass of House Red wine. I was starving so we ordered the LARGE Radicchio salad and it was Big & filling. A side of fresh Broccolini complimented our individual entrees. My hearty Italian dish was the Ricotta Cavatelli. I even had enough for lunch the next day! My two lovely lady dinner mates had meals of Mafaldine pasta and Spinach Fettuccine (with Grana Padano cheese added). We gladly finished our comfortable dining experience with a shared and inhaled Tiramisu dessert. The sourdough bread app was delicious, as was the radicchio salad. The Caprese salad was standard, nothing too special about it. I wouldn't return.

Let me start by saying I didn't take pictures. For anyone who reads my reviews, that's a big part…read moreof them: ALL THE PICTURES. Presentation, portions, half eaten, etc... but I didn't. Because the food was so damn good. Look - I'm going to start off by saying I grew up practically on The Hill. Out here, you'll have to Google it (make sure to add 'RI' to the search or you'll get some political BS), but back east, "alls you's have ta say" was those two words and anyone would know you knew your Italian, food and otherwise. There isn't anything on this coast that vaguely compares to The Hill's food, but walking into and biting out of Geraldi's was having a little piece of home. There's this little shop in the old town where the owner knew your voice when you called to order... you'd walk in, and you heard "hey cousin!" whether you were or not, and that's the vibe you get from Geraldi's. The food is much the same - you get something that looks like Nonna was at the range all day with her sauce (it's not gravy - no meat) and you came home looking like you haven't eaten in weeks: "I'm gonna fatten you up before you leave" and you walked out the door with a sub (sandwich, that is - not a submarine) that weighed the same as a newborn. We got three of those babies: a Chicago Beef (seal of approval from the orderer - only 'complaint' was that they had to eat it all in one day because the bread was quote too soggy to make it to lunch the next day - travesty), an Italian sausage (just as delicious when 1/2 was reheated the next day) and a Chicken Parmeroni (I thought somehow even better when 1/2 was reheated the next day) and I could have absolutely gone back the next day if it weren't for A. the leftovers 2/3 of us had and B. the meal planning we'd done for the week. I also grabbed a side of giardiniera because I will get it anytime I see it available and I inhaled it - I need to know if I can by it by the vat instead of the side cups because it too was similar to what I can find at home (about practically nowhere out here) and amazing!! I'm still upset I didn't take pictures though!

I am not a fan of reheated pasta and I cannot eat a vat of pasta in a sitting. I discovered I could order a kid size fettuccine alfredo. I always order a side of spinach and a meatball. I was disappointed in everything but flat out shocked at the meatball. The 'side' of spinach in the pasta. There were maybe 3 leaves of spinach and they charged me $1 per leaf. The pasta had almost no flavor. At least there was a side of parmesan because it added a little bit for flavor on the noodles but I did not bother eating much. I figured I would eat some of the bread. The side of garlic bread was cooked to complete hardness... I appreciate it toasted, but when my fillings are struggling because it's like biting down on a rock... that's not toasted, that's burnt. Which brings me to the meatball which was genuinely split completely open and the meat really looked terrible... like weirdly cooked. Since it was delivered, many would say that the delivery person literally opened the meatball but no... it was sealed by the restaurant and considering it's sitting on top of the pasta - it was 'placed' there intentionally. I cannot imagine someone in a kitchen that serves meals to patrons dumping it in there unless they were assuming that since it's a kid's meal, no one's gonna care. Stuff like that really does make me mad to where I don't think I'm going to order from this restaurant again. That does make me sad because this is the only place that really does Italian food and offers a lot of vegetables you can get with your meal but being charged $17 for a tiny box of food that looks like this. I added a photo in the photos if anyone wants to see the proof.

Dearest gentle readers,…read more A most scandalous correction must be issued how careless of me. The establishment in question is none other than the divine Grassa, a name that now rolls off the tongue with the same richness as its most indulgent fare. And oh, what fare it is. Here, along the lively stretch of Portland, one may witness noodles brought to life before their very eyes fresh, authentic, and handled with a confidence that borders on audacity. These delicate strands are then enrobed in a mac and cheese so decadently composed, so brazenly elevated, that it dares to redefine comfort itself. And just when one believes it cannot be improved enter the pig belly. Crisp, tender, and unapologetically rich... a finishing touch that transforms the dish into something whispered about in only the most exclusive of circles. Yes, dear reader, this is the sort of indulgence that lingers long after the final bite... the kind that ruins lesser versions without remorse. And so, with that final truth properly set, I take my leave once more. The tales of this fair city draw to a close, but not without leaving behind a most delicious legacy. Until our next adventure ever eastward. Yours most faithfully,
