    Alfredo MontAmore- with Parmesan-Crusted Chicken
    Sahithi M.

This place is in my neighborhood.. so we often go for some quick picks... and the food never disappoints! This place has got plenty of parking and some friendly staff.. who are often fast... I ordered alfredo spaghetti with Parmesan crusted chicken... tasted delicious, had some garlic sauce topped, which made it so flavourful.. this place has dine-in tables too, I often find many families coming over with their family and kids too..

    Very dirty floors

Found a fingernail in our food. Absolutely disgusting. No response from management. So gross.

Carbo-loading fast food chain popular with teenage kids. Food is filing but lacks flavor. Fine for carbo loading.

Standing in line at dinner time, and a worker announces that they're not taking orders right now, because they're backed up. Who does that?

I got the Spaghetti Al Limone with shrimp and it was so tasty. It had an amazing balance of citrus that didn't overpower the rest of the plate. We also sat outside and it was lovely. There were ceiling fans to help keep us cool. It was great to see lots of families there too. You know the restaurant really takes pride in being family friendly. Otherwise, there is street parking nearby, especially as you get into the residential areas. They are a walk-in only restaurant, and if you're going during dinner hours, there is usually a wait. You can a text when it is your turn to be seated, and you are able to wander the neighborhood during the wait. It is close to Lake Harriet, so if you're looking for a way to kill time, you can walk towards the lake and sit on one of the benches! Once you're at Broder's, you're in for a treat! It is a sit-down restaurant that feels on the nicer end of casual. It'd be a good date night spot, but also is good for gathering with friends and family. They have plenty of good options, including some dairy-free, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free items on their menu which is clearly labeled. The service is always friendly, and they're always attentive, even when it gets busy! They start you off with some free breads, and there is olive oil at the table which you can use with the bread. They have a good selection of wines, and some beer and non alcoholic beverages. If you like a sweet wine that tastes mostly like juice, I highly recommend their moscato d'asti! As for their food, they have so many good pastas, you can't really go wrong. They are able to accommodate some modifications! I think in the past, I've subbed for another pasta shape. I recently also ordered the Tagliarini di Locanda di Lupo without Proscuitto to be vegetarian-friendly! It was very cheesy and creamy, and truffle-forward, as expected! I had their Spaghetti Al Limone, which was nice and buttery and still felt light and fresh with the basil and lemon. I've been to Broder's several times throughout the years, and I enjoy it every time! I would recommend stopping!

The décor is elegant and inviting, and halfway through dinner the lights dimmed into what we jokingly called the "sexy dinner lights," making the atmosphere even more warm and cozy. One thing I really liked is that every entrée comes in multiple sizes, so you can order the portion that fits your appetite. I wish more restaurants offered that option! We started with the Parmesan Crusted Shrimp, and it was a great appetizer. The shrimp had a light, crispy Parmesan crust and came with two delicious dipping sauces. I ordered the Lasagna, and it was exactly what I was hoping for--rich, hearty, cheesy, and full of flavor. One entrée at the table was the Chicken Fettuccine, and we all laughed because none of us expected the pasta to be bright green! It turned out to be spinach fettuccine and ended up being a favorite. Another person ordered the Seafood Linguini De Mare. It wasn't their personal favorite, but that was simply a matter of taste rather than the quality of the dish. I had a Red Ruby Spritz mocktail, which was refreshing and beautifully presented. The others enjoyed their drinks as well. The portions were generous. Even though we were completely stuffed, we still couldn't pass up dessert! The Crème Brûlée was outstanding with a perfectly crisp caramelized sugar topping and silky custard. The Budino was incredibly rich, decadent, and one of the highlights of the night. The Salted Caramel Gelato was also enjoyed. Service was friendly, attentive, and never rushed. The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere that made us want to linger. One funny tip: the bathrooms were spotless, but the toilets are surprisingly low! I almost sat down much faster than I expected. so be careful. Overall, Ciao Bella was a wonderful dining experience with delicious food, generous portions, beautiful décor, and a relaxing atmosphere. I'll definitely be back!

A certain demographic in Minneapolis always makes me uncomfortable. Around what I believe is called "the Lakes" is a segment of the population that carries itself with an aura of superiority. They gravitate toward Linden Hills, Excelsior, and Wayzata. It's odd, because we all live in Minneapolis, not Saint-Tropez. These folks are fairly homogenous and dress as if they just stepped off their sailboat or their tennis court. Even when at a nice restaurant, they must appear sporty, never flashy, except when you spy the Louis Vuitton purse or Prada athletic bag. Most of the men, if older, have a full head of gray hair and dress for the country club. Gia was filled with them. I don't fit into that particular tribe. I'm short with hardly any hair on my head, and like to dress fashionably, but never sporty. I dress as if I'm in NYC, where I grew up, and I like cool clothes, even though I'm an old fart. The stares I received were not welcoming. Jeff, the ubiquitous server/bartender who took care of us, was great, as was the omnipresent woman who took care of the front. The food is very good, especially the fantastic pasta. My swordfish was served with fabulous grilled vegetables, but I had to hunt that elusive fish down. I must try Gia again during the week, and hopefully the restaurant will have a more welcoming demographic.

Our cocktails were an Orion's Belt, the Moira, 2 glasses of Bordeaux and a half glass of the featured wine Farina Amarine...all were great We have noticed lately we don't get dessert because we are full and decided to start with dessert much to our server and the owner's delight. We got the chocolate mousse, the affogato and the lemon polenta cake...these were the stars of the meal. They were delightful and made you crave another bite...hats off to the pastry chef! We followed this up with the focaccia and the formaggi, let me tell you the focaccia was some of the best we've had! We then ordered the arugula salad to go with our meals. My wife chose the Tuscan soup, I chose the casarecce, and our friends selected the bass and tagliatelle broccoli rabe. These were all good just not the stars of the meal.
