Horrific service. Staff forgot to make part of order while standing around chatting. Rushed to make noodle order then slid it straight off the counter onto the floor and laughed about it after having to wait for forgotten order to be made. Kept making light of it and then rushed to make order again but didn't leave vegetables in steamer the full minute and argued with me they didn't even need a minute in the machine which then why did the first staff member waste that time doing it the first go round? I ended up leaving without the noodles because the younger staff member who threw this off the counter all over the floor the first time was so incredibly rude and flippant about it that it wasn't worth the $10 I was out. I have been here a few times, the few times I have went they have never failed to be a little rude. I too work in food service so I understand the frustration during rushes, this is not a one time thing, this is every time I had come to noodles hoping the employees would be better. Today I had ordered two bowls for my girlfriend and I, we asked if the cashier could split the bill, when she tried she made a mistake and her coworker immediately had the nastiest attitude over it. Not only did she get mad at the cashier but she made us feel insanely uncomfortable and embarrassed. Normally we love this place though it's a bit on the pricier side but tonight after spending over $60 just to get it all the way home and find that meals were left off the order...called to inform the restaurant to be met with a giggle and ahh yes we made it but forgot to add to your bags. I've been very disappointed both times I have ordered from here. The food usually tastes quite mediocre. I've tried several items off the menu: Potstickers Korean BBQ Meatballs Cheesy Garlic Bread Wisconsin Mac & Cheese Rice Krispy The rice krispy and meatballs overall were the best items. The flavors were amazing and satisfying. The worst was the potstickers and bread for me. They did not reach my expectations and I have not purchased them since. The flavors seemed very bland and a waste of money. I advise trying a little of a few things to see what you actually like, it was my best approach to this restaurant. Really disappointed today. I used to LOVE this place! I moved away a couple years ago and while visiting this weekend I couldn't wait to stop at Noodles and Co. and get my normal favorites, Pesto Cavatappi and the buttered noodles and they have really gone downhill in the past year. The buttered noodles seemed stale and dry and the noodles weren't even hot enough to melt the cheese on top (see picture). Dropped in the other day, pretty damn good food! Have seen other Noodles & Company locations before but never had given it a go. I got the Spicy Korean Beef Noddles and they were great!! My only disappointment was that they skipped over bringing me my order for a solid 10-15 minutes which kinda sucked. As I walked into the Valparaiso Noodles and looked at the menu, I saw that the small portion of Zucchini Truffle Mac was priced at (written in RED letters) $5.75, Reg. $7.00. I told the sales clerk I wanted the small portion with grilled chicken and water from the fountain. She informed me that they had no chicken because the grill was not working. I settled for pork instead of chicken. The clerk rang up the order and said it would be $10.43. I asked how much the meat was and she told me $2.75. I added $5.75 and $2.75 in my head and came up with $8.50, so I asked why my total was over $10. She said that is how the computer rings it up. I told her I was being overcharged, but she insisted she couldn't change it, so I politely asked for a manager. I explained the situation to the manager and she also stated that is how the computer charges when you add meat to an entree. After trying to explain that I was being overcharged, I finally asked the manager to remove the meat from my order and just charge me for the small Zucchini Truffle Mac. She removed the meat and told me I owed $7 and change. I told her AGAIN that the sign stated the price was $5.75. She said that is what the computer charges. At that point I had had it, so I told her they didn't have the meat (chicken) I wanted and I was being overcharged for my meal, so I would just go somewhere else to eat. The manager said sorry about that and I walked away. I am shocked that this manager allowed me to walk away without overriding the price at the very least!! Under the circumstances (no grill/no chicken) she could have gone with the computer's $7 price and thrown the meat in as compensation. Being overcharged and then being allowed to leave completely unsatisfied and upset made this one of the poorest customer service experiences I have ever had!! Shame on this manager! This leaves me with a very bad taste in my mouth for Noodles!! read more

I always get the same thing when I come here, & its always delicious. if you just get noodles, its really affordable, adding meat only makes it a couple dollars more. 1 time they gave me the wrong to go order & I didn't realize it till I got home & i didn't want to drive back, they said next time I came in they would replace it. another time I went in before a roadtrip, it was like 5 min to closing & they were out of the kind of noodles both dishes called for, they asked if they could substitute another kind, "sure! yeah! lets do this!" LOVE this place. So nice to have different options in Valpo other than the typical fast food. Food is always great. My favorite is the Monte alfredo w chicken. My kids love the spaghetti and meatballs. Service is always quick. I really like the fact that the kids meals are already in to go containers so all you have to do is ask for a lid and off you go. I also like that there are menus posted outside and right when you walk on the door which greatly reduces the chance of having to wait for someone standing at the register trying to decide what to get. For the price, the food isn't terrible. $7.49 for a small noodle dish and either a cup of soup or salad. However, the food was not cooked carefully. The Indonesian noodle dish with tofu was over-spiced, too heavily coated with the peanut sauce, and the tofu was bland and somewhat hard. The food is good quality, and large portions. I've only ordered noodles though. The prices are a little steeper than standard fast food, but higher quality. Average $10 a person bill. Fresh ingredients and they do great on pick up orders placed online, always ready in 10 minutes or less. Friendly staff. It's a little loud and usually very busy, rarely will you find a table to sit at you like. Stay away from the basics like Mac and Cheese as it's not that great, and way overpriced for what you're getting. I recommend the Asian dishes, the Italian is sub-par for my taste, but okay.
