We had finished our lettuce wraps before the server returned to take our meal orders. My young kids were getting restless, so we ordered quickly: a Buddha's Feast (stir-fried veggies and rice) for our toddler, chicken lo mein for her brother, and for me, a cup of egg drop soup and the gluten-free Singapore Street Noodles. My husband ordered the chicken fried rice. A quick restroom stop revealed something unsettling: drops of dried blood on a toilet seat. I immediately told a staff member, who did go address it right away--so credit where it's due--but it was still a gross and preventable discovery. When the food arrived, I initially appreciated that all gluten-free dishes came in distinct red and black stoneware, which helps reassure diners like me.
