I had a great conversation with the manager about their gluten-free options only to discover that if they serve gluten-free noodles they're still using regular soy sauce which contains wheat, so it's not really gluten-free. So one day I was at home alone and was hungry. I didn't really have a taste for anything super specific. I opened up my Uber eats app and what pops up was this Asian food restaurant not too far from me. The food looked good so why not try it, I figured. I came in on a Friday afternoon with my party of 5, around 2 PM for lunch. The restaurant wasn't too busy and we were sat right away. Our waitress was very nice and professional. We had 3 kids with us and she was very patient with them despite their interruptions and numerous requests. Throughout the meal she did attend to us and checked in on us, which we appreciated. The 3 stars is for the quality of the food. We're visiting El Paso, and I'm unsure if this place is a chain or if it's just local, I'm feeling like it's a chain--anyway, quality of our meal was mediocre. I ordered the fried rice combo plate with chicken and pork. It was just okay. Good portioning for the price. The rest of my table ordered noodle bowls, but they were bland and severely lacked flavor. The fried dumplings we ordered also tasted just okay, nothing special. Underwhelming and disappointing. I ordered a Chicken LanZhou Spicy Noodle bowl and got it with beef instead. I could've asked them to take it back and give me the correct order, but I didn't want to wait any longer and beef was fine. The broth had no flavor and it was not spicy at all. This place is amazing! I was hesitant in trying another Asian spot after the nasty food we had just at another Asian place just a few days prior. You can definitely tell the good it's made with fresh ingredients and it taste really authentic. The noodles are hand spun and made to order, which is something I can definitely appreciate. I ordered take out through their website & was pleasantly surprised when I received a phone call to advise me that my order was ready for pickup about 5 mins earlier than I was originally informed. I opted for the Kung Pao chicken with broccoli, carrots, onions, bell peppers & mushrooms. Also ordered the Mongolian beef with broccoli, onions & peppers. I ordered both with rice (although based on the restaurant name, maybe I should've tried some noodles). Both dishes were very good. LOTS of food for each dish that I really enjoyed. Rated 4 stars instead of 5 only because both dishes overflowed in the take out bag leaving a mess to clean up upon getting home & ready to eat. Came here on a Monday night, and surprising it became pretty crowded soon after we arrived around 6:30pm. This didn't help speed of service though as there were only 2 friendly wait staffers trying to work the large crowd. We ordered 2 dishes and a coke which came to under $30 dollars but they do not skimp on portion size as we still had plenty to take home and both eat for lunch the next day. I ordered the Chicken Mix Noodle which was piled high with veggies, chicken and house sauce over fresh hand-pulled noodles. I enjoyed the meal but my wife did not care for the sauce. She ordered the Orange Sauce On with chicken and a side of white rice. This dish was by far the better of the two we ordered. I've ordered take out from this location twice now and while generally the food is 4/5, I was so disgusted and disappointed with the green onion/scallion pancakes. Please see photos. This place was absolutely a delight. When we walked in we were greeted right away and sat right away. We ordered the beef noodles and the Kung pao bao bun. Both items were amazing. This place could compete with any 5 star restaurant. It's such a hidden gem in El Paso. Whenever I pass through I for sure will be stopping here to get some of their authentic food. After giving their Mongolian beef, Kung pao chicken, and general tso's chicken a try, I can say something tastes funky about these dishes. Not sure if it's fusion or if they add a twist to it, but it never tastes right. The Xiao Dumplings also did not come with broth like they usually do. Not bad flavor, but also not a Xiao Long. My daughter was served old soup that had a cloudy appearance. Soup was salty perhaps to tame the bad taste. Manager seemed hesitant for a refund at first. I asked manager if the soup had been refrigerated, his response was the soup is made fresh. I doubt it. My daughter is a Pho and Noodle soup fanatic. She right away noted the aftertaste of what may have been old soup; or maybe that's the restaurants normal flavored taste (yucky).
