So so so many different coffee options are available too. I settled on the nitro cold brew with oat milk and an egg and cheese sandwich. Best, best pumpkin chai latte in Center City. My friend introduced me to this place. It is hard to find parking so beware of PPA in that area. I got a 76 buck ticket picking up the latte. There was a long line but the pumpkin chai latte is worth it. The lady up front who works there and potentially owns the place is very good at chatting with the locals. Been walking past this little cute bakery every day for a year. Finally decided to stop pass one day as I was looking for Tiramisu and Matcha Latte. As I enter, i was greeted immediately by the cashier. She was eager to help me order as it was my very first time. When I ask for the Japanese Matcha Latte, she told me it was made with soy based, I guess just in case I have a soy allergy. Then she explained their variety of milk they carried, I chose oats milk, bc they make drinks on the sweeter side. While she was making my latte, I was looking at their cakes. Couldn't resist Tiramisu and the chocolate banana cookie for my hubby. I have to say, everything were made to perfection!! Or for me, just right. The Matcha Latte weren't overly sweet or unsweetened. Tiramisu were bitter(bc of the cocoa top coat) and creamy at the same time, so it kinda balanced perfectly. I would love to sit in one day as their sitting section got a very cozy feel. read more

This Coffee Shop is an incredible find if you are ever in the Philadelphia area. The coffee bar and bakery is located near Center City on 20th and Ludlow--a small lounge area, a grab-and-go spot. The owners seemed to know their customers by name, which was impressive. I waited a bit to order my coffee, there were people ahead of me who ordered quite a bit of the item, but I was glad I waited to get a cup of my hazelnut latte with almond milk. I did not order any pastries, but they looked appetizing. The atmosphere was friendly and felt neighborly. I would have given this place four and a half stars had I not had to wait long but I think this is a five star. Though, I am worried that this may be an issue for most patrons, but I hope not because this place is a wonderful spot and not your typical Starbucks. I was taking a mental health day off from work because i hadn't used a vacation day in a while. Decided to commit to trying out a new gem and whipped out my handy dandy Yelp app. I wanted somewhere with a cool vibe, cozy and inviting yet would put me in the mood to read/get some work done...with a good cup of coffee in hand. I definitely got that here. This place epitomizes service with a smile. They're efficient and my chai latte was YUM (best I've had in quite some time) and I liked how they asked me up front what kind of milk I wanted. (Also I think good coffee temperature is underrated; I've been to a lot of places where the non plain black coffees are lukewarm by the time they're done with their 'art'.) I got some reading done, and some people watching by the big window facing the street. The furniture is a little worn..almost shabby to he honest, in a "well loved" sort of way. There is a ton of artwork on the bathroom walls; looked like they were for sale but I personally wouldn't purchase anything that's been in a public restroom. Instead of all the art, I'd rather have a mirror in the bathroom (there isn't one so couldn't retouch my lipstick as I wanted). I also wish the hand dryer didn't blow ice cold air on to my already freezing hands... especially if there is no paper towel option. read more

The muffins at Nook are easily the best muffins in the city. The scones are crumbly and never dry; and the croissants are perfectly flaky. Don't forgot to take home a quiche, too. The hidden gem of Nook, however, is the specialty order. The pies and cakes are amazing. My last 3 birthday cakes have come from Nook and they are always on point. It is a rare treat to find a locally owned and family run business downtown where typically I just expect Starbucks. There may be no better coffee experience in Center City than the Nook. Walk right by the big Starbucks on Market St and wend your way to the Nook to find finely curated and coffee in the world. Literally. The sacks from Rwanda, DRC and other places are right there on display. Owners' (Mike and Edna) love of coffee and baked good have kept the Nook open for 12 years, through the pandemic and Starbucks invasions. The baked goods, usually a afterthought at places serious about their coffee, are made on the premises. They are absolutely delicious. I used to go here when Edna and Mike first opened up on the Walnut street bridge and just stopped by their current location for the first time in maybe 8 or 9 years on 20th street just now. I was so pleasantly surprised to see that not only are Mike and Edna still working here (as a small business owner, I have a soft spot for businesses where the owners still come in and work) but they have managed to improve every aspect of their business, which is impressive, especially since they have been open for so long now! They were both incredibly nice, as always, and their coffee is way better (Mike roasts their beans now and the quality is fantastic), their location is cozy, clean and super comfortable and the overall vibe of the place is fantastic. Nook is a small and cute bakery. There is some seating here, with a couch at the back area which is great for groups. I came here to get coffee and a turkey sausage cheese sandwich. They have many types of coffee here- pour over coffees, iced coffees, nitros, or normal drip coffee. I had an ordinary drip coffee and it was great! The sandwich was delicious too. If you eat this, you won't be able to eat at McDonald's. This is far fresher and better. They also sell a variety of baked goods like cakes and cookies. This is my favorite coffee shop in the city. The coffee and pastries are delicious and the people are so kind. Before the pandemic, I was a regular customer, going in every day for a latte. The pandemic hit and I moved out of the city. Today, I went in after almost two years of not coming in and they recognized me (or at least pretended to which is still appreciated), we chatted, talked about all the changes they've made, etc. So basically, not only do you get delicious coffee (their selection is amazing!), you also get probably the best customer service possible.
