I loved the choices for lunch here recently, both the cuisine and the pricing. However, something seems wrong at Nora's. They're pretty much was no heat on a very cool late fall day. I would estimate the air temperature in the restaurant at not much above 60°. If they're having a heating problem they should be closed. Again the food was delicious. Both of us got the shawarma salad plates and they were great and also an excellent value. Service was slow even though only few tables were populated, but that wasn't what was bugging me. It was simply too damn cold in the place. They need to fix that or close until they do. Usually I would give this five stars just on the food itself as well as the value, but I'm subtracting a star and a half for the heat and a half star for the service. Assuming this was an aberration, I plan to return. We shall see. read more

I will preface this that I have high expectations for food. I love Mediterranean food and was disappointed that this place missed the mark. Pom-Born Kabob The pomegranate sauce gave it a bold vinegary taste. I appreciate that it was cooked order, however, the meat wasn't allowed to rest to room temperature before cooking so the middle was cold. For the price of $16 I expected more than three pieces of kebab. Lamb Gyro The lamb meat was very dry. The ratio of cold toppings to warm or hot lamb meat was very off leaving the Gyro cold. The slices of lamb meat were so thin if I folded my receipt paper, it would be bigger than what was served. Very disappointing. Tzatziki sauce had an odd flair to it, I can't quite pinpoint the taste. It was overpowered by something. I couldn't tell if it was the garlic or the dill seeds. I've had better blended and tasteful tzatziki sauce. Coppa 3 Chocolates Very pretty to look at for presentation. $8.50 is a bit of a high price point. It was overly sweet. I was surprised at the crunchiness to it, like a wafer was put in between one of the layers. It was OK. Service Great customer service. Very cute decor on the inside and plenty of tables to sit inside or out, if you'd like. While, this didn't feed my soul, maybe it feeds yours ? read more

Service: There is a sign that says wait to be seated, except no one ever came to the front to greet or seat us. We saw a to go counter in the back and ordered there. The cashier was pleasant but I am not sure if we would have ever been helped if we didn't walk to the back. Price Transparency: After ordering and receiving my receipt, I realized I was charged $22 for my meal but the menu listed the meal for $18. I went back to the cashier to inquire about the discrepancy and she said the menu hasn't been updated. Food: 6/10 the lamb and rice was underwhelming. We received 5 pieces of lamb on top of rice with 3 veggie accents. The food temperature was great but the portion of meat left more to be desired especially for the price. The meat was a bit tough. Bottom line: the food does not stand up to similar places. There is not a focus on service and advertising one price and charging another is unethical. read more

I've only visited for lunch but have been pleased each time. Portions are plentiful; I always have enough for a second meal later. They do seem to be short-staffed often and thankfully the restaurant has not been crowded during my visits so it has not been a problem. The tzatziki and hummus are delicious. I'm not a huge fan of lamb but I did try it on a gyro and it was very good; tender and juicy. Looking forward to trying different menu items. The decor reminds me of Turkey more than Greece but I like it nonetheless. Definitely planning to return. read more

Wife and I had lunch here today. We were the only ones eating in at opening time on a Sunday, but we enjoyed the experience, and we'd go back. Service was great. The young woman was friendly, attentive, and did a great job. We ordered lots of food - definitely more than we needed, so, let me tell you why it's four rather than five stars. Value is fantastic. Price, portion size, freshness...brilliant. Free tea, free tzatziki, what's not to like? We've travelled widely in the Mediterranean and Middle East. We love the food and flavor profiles from these places. The quality and presentation of the food was as good as some tavernas we've eaten at in Athens. The one issue we both had was in terms of flavor. In that respect, the food was good, but not great. It tended towards bland, and needs a boost in all of the dishes we had. It might work for you, and I'm happy to recommend trying it. For us, to coin a cliche, they need to dial the flavor up a notch! read more

We've ordered this place a few times and every time it's just been OK. But this most recent order made me want to leave a review. Overall the food does taste good, although the rice could be seasoned more. All of our meat was over cooked from our preference (medium rare and rare). There were hardly any vegetables in the kabob entree. We asked for extra sauce with the one entree and only got 1 cup of tzatziki for both. I also ordered the pearl couscous salad and it literally looked nothing like the picture which was was super disappointing. We aren't even going to eat it because it's just pasta and olives with some oil as flavor. I included a picture of what the salad should have looked like vs what we got. Unfortunately the pictures always seem to look better than what we actually get when we order here. Honestly I don't think the food is worth the money that they're charging :( read more

Ordered the salmon and shrimp and the Nutella empanadas. The food is fresh and delicious. The portions are large and the customer service is AMAZING. I placed a DoorDash order and it was canceled. I called Nora's to complain (turned out to be a DoorDash issue) and they went above and beyond to make sure I got my order. It was so late, almost 10p, but they found a driver to bring it to me. I really appreciate the service and will be a lifelong customer. The fact that the food was still hot and delicious when it arrived was a surprising bonus. THANK YOU for the great service!!! As a side note, DoorDash customer service SUCKS. They made no effort to resolve the issue and backed their driver who lied and said the place was closed when he got there. 5 stars - value 3.5 stars - food We went here on a nice Sunday evening. There was only one other couple in the restaurant, so we had our pick of outdoor seating. Opted for next to the space heater. They have specials every night - Sunday was $22 for app, entree, and dessert. We did one of the Sunday specials (spanikopita, lamb kabob, and baklava) and a separate gyro platter. Also got free hummus by checking in with yelp. The platters are HUGE - between the two platters, we got 7 meals out of them between 2 people. The spanikopita came out cold, so they had to refire it. The hummus was absolutely delicious with warm pita. The platters were ok as far as taste. The kabob platter came with 4 pieces of lamb; the gyro platter had tons of shaved lamb. Both were ok - not seasoned great. They both came with tons of white/yellow rice and a side salad. The baklava was pretty good - nothing to write home about, but good to try. My family and I ordered take out from here. My parents and my sister are big fans of Nora's. I live about an hour away, so this was my first experience. We ordered a range of food, from hummus and pita bread, to Greek salad, to gyros and kabobs (all pictured). I got the chicken kabob. To be honest, I was sort of disappointed it did not come on an actual kabob stick (see pic again). Maybe this is covid related or standard procedure. But there is definitely something fun about eating meat off a stick. The actual food was very tasty, although there was a lot of filler. My side option was Greek salad, which I do not like, or overwhelming amounts of rice. The staff was friendly, covid ready with masks and gloves. Food was timely prepared. read more

This was not our first visit to this location. The chicken kabobs are tasty, served with an abundance of rice. There is usually four bits of veggie included but this time there was only two (pieces) per order. For an additional $5 you can get a few more veggies (not an abundance). I decided to try the baklava this time for my birthday. The baklava in California had me addicted to the sweet, delicate confection. This was a tremendous disappointment. Whoever made this batch was obviously in a hurry. A dozen or more hard layers of pastry (?) with a layer of filling and a couple dozen dense layers on top. The confection was too hard to even bite through. I was unbelievably disappointed. The worst baklava EVER! On a better note, the staff are extremely pleasant to deal with. read more

This place is a bit deceiving. The place looks great - really nice tables, inside and out, but that's where it ends. The service was abysmal. While they were nice enought it took 20+ min to take our order. then, when she came to the table it was clear she either didn't know or care about the items on the menu. She didn't understand what Tzatziki dip is or explaine the difffent sauces. And, if you are going to drop Prima Foods' spanokopita in the deep fryer the menu should warn you that this is the only place int he world that deep fries it. The lamb Gyro was ok but they failed to give us the $4 for fries and soda deal and instead charges separately for them - $4 and $3.50. THe young staff couldn't have acted less intersted in what they were doing. alling this place "Nora's Grill & Bistro" is misplaced. Instead, "Nora's Curbside Carryout" would be more fitting. When we arrived at 6:45 of the 16 or so table only 3 have customers sitting at them, the reason which became readily apparent. Advice to Ownership: Move to an industrial space and just do carry out. Since I was driving I asked the staff if there was any nuts in the dish I was ordering because I vaguely remembered seeing something that mentioned nuts. The young lady went to check and said no. Ordered online and was called and told that I'd have to come in and pick it up because it didn't meet the $50 requirement for delivery. Told me it said so online, well I went online and did the whole process again and it doesn't tell you until AFTER you order it needs to be $50. I told them to refund it because my sons asleep and I can't leave, the entire reason I ordered delivery. I thought it was handled horribly. Don't tell me I should've read the whatever print that didn't show up until after and I need to pickup instead, how about that's your mistake you don't say until after and you let the transaction and order go through. On Friday, 07/13/18, my daughter texted me and said she had a taste for a lamb gyro. I searched on Yelp and came up with this new place. We tried calling ahead but no one answered the phone. I thought it was because they were super busy but nope. When we arrived I let my daughter out so she could order it while I parked. When I went in she was being told that the phone/internet/payment system was down and they had to write her card number down and process it later. I'm glad I came in time to tell her never to do that no matter where she goes. She ordered the lamb gyro lunch special with a side of pasta salad. She asked for the tzatziki sauce to be on the sauce and they just plopped it in the container next to the gyro and the pasta salad. In my opinion it should've been placed in a small container as not to make a mess. We had to go to the Shopper's was to buy something in order to get cash back to purchase the meal which was $10.07 with tax. My daughter said the lamb was flavorful and tender and the gyro as a whole was good. She said she'll definitely come there again. Hopefully they'll be able to answer the phone next time and can accept cards. About 10 minutes after we got home they called me back and asked did we try to call earlier. The highlight was the pasta salad that tasted like RoundUp. Some kind of weird chemical had to be in there. It was disgusting and burned my mouth. Of course I made the mistake of just politely and discreetly telling two young guys at the register who appeared very unconcerned. The place appears to be run by some high schoolers and an experienced overseer is much needed! Our waitress messed up the check, didn't bring water, didn't seem very knowledgeable... minor details but added up they really affect the overall experience. The food (pasta salad aside) was pretty decent but not amazing. And the chef has poopy fingers (don't ask me how I know that). read more
