I like this place. The food is clean and the food is good. As far as Indian food goes I give it a 3.5 out of 5. But, it's the only thing like it in Carroll County. The service is okay ... sometimes it's hard to get a refill. They have a buffet but I've never been in for it as I work too far away. For how late we went there and how large our party was, I have to give them a 5 star for their service alone!! They were able to accommodate us all and with great a great attitude! The restaurant is nicely decorated with a grass back wall, bar area and overall very clean! With any Indian places, I always get torn about the price and the size of the dish being brought out. But again, this place did not disappoint. I left feeling full & satisfied. We ordered the butter chicken, cheese naan, mango lassi, chefs biryanis, and saag paneer. Everything was flavorful, cooked perfectly, and the cheese naan has to be my favorite!! Very plush and nice creaminess from the cheese ! It's a great way to sop up the sauce at the end! What a lovely restaurant and lovely dining experience! As you enter past the host station you will see a very pleasing, modern restaurant with a very chill vibe. They also have an elegant separate room for private parties. The food and service was AMAZING! The Veg Samosas appetizer was perfectly fried yet still tender. All orders can be customized for degree of heat. We ordered the baigan bharta and chicken biryani. Bengan bharta was a bit different than what I'm used to, had a bit of a crunch to it, but good. Biryani was delicious. The naan was fantastic! We also tried the garlic hummus, not typical in that it was a bit thinner than other places but it was so very yummy! We topped the meal off with rice pudding....dreamy creamy! Even the dishes and serving spoons were elegant. This is the perfect spot for a special dinner or event but also welcoming for a casual lunch or dinner. My only criticism is the water feature on the wall was very loud, a bit like I was at Niagara Falls! If they could slow the stream the ambiance would be perfect! read more

So a few days after sampling the weekend lunch buffet, I came back on a weekday and ordered lunch off the menu. I loved it and if you like Indian food as I do, you will too. Here is what was great: 1. A diverse menu, logically laid out and well-organized. Vegetarian faire together, then chicken together, then lamb/goat together, etc. Under each, the sauce/seasoning profile was in the same place spatially on the menu (e.g., if vindaloo is at the top of the middle column for chicken, it also is top of the middle column for lamb/goat, etc. 2. Interesting and unexpected menu offerings included various "Naan pizzas" - A+ here for creativity. 3. Very fair pricing (recall my discouragement about the buffet costs) - you can find MANY offerings on this menu at the appropriate lunch menu price point in my mind (less than $15; sometimes a few dollars less). 4. Courteous service from a friendly staff. Clearly a lunch entree differs from a dinner entree in terms of its size. Picture a creme broulee round porcelain bowl - this is the dize of your entree portion and a second identical one has provided with rice. It's just enough for a satisfying lunch without being either meager or obviously overboard. Call it just right. I ordered chicken vindaloo and found is very teasing but verging toward the spicier preparastions of the dish. That was fine for my palate, but those sensitive to this may wish to inquire aboout whether the preparation can be made more mild. BTW the onion kukcha bread was perfect too. I hope they just leave everything as it is I cannot recall a better Indian food order-of-the-menu lunch experience - if it ain't broke, don't fix it! read more

A 3-star experience anywhere else. A 4-star experience just for bringing Indian food to Carroll County. AMBIANCE. The interior is beautiful and roomy. The service was kind though leisurely. The menu seemed to have a lot of fusion options. THE FOOD. Our spice options offered to us were - medium or mild. No hot option or 1-5. I got the saag paneer as medium and it barely had any flavor and zero heat. Quite disappointing but maybe they were catering to this area so keeping it mild? The chicken korma was pretty flavorful even without heat. The garlic naan had a very buttery taste but next to no garlic. The kheer was decent but my partner would have preferred the cardamom and rose water really stand out. All in all, the flavors and spices were lacking. Just had my birthday dinner there with 17 people. We had the party room to ourselves. It was a beautiful space. The drinks were really good and there was always water at the tables. Every single dish was hot and delicious. Everything came out right which is wonderful for such a large party! All the servers were beyond friendly and accommodating. Tandori Dumplings! For an app we had the dumplings which our very nice waiter recommended and they were delicious. For entrees we had butter chicken and chicken curry and both were so flavorful and delicious and the garlic naan was amazing and was great to dip it in our sauces. The desert was also really good! The fried honey balls and rice pudding actually go very well together! We are already so excited to go back when not on a time crunch. The decor inside is also so pretty! read more

The veg Samosas were crisp and delicious served with two equally interesting dipping sauces, the naan was very good, and the tandoori dumplings were served with a cheese sauce - a novel and delicious treat loved by all. 5 stars across the board for all 4 dishes. For mains it was Chicken Tikka Masala across the board served 1 mild, 2 medium, and 1 hot. One of the most interesting preparations of this dish we have ever tasted. Thank you to Akbar In Randallstown for entering me into this life-long enjoyment of the cuisine. With only very rare exceptions, my dining experience at Kinara was the best of all! The interior design is modern, without sacrificing a comfortable atmosphere. In addition to the chair comfort, there was excellent spacing among the tables. The service and attention to our needs was outstanding. Not too much, but always there when needed. Then there's the food. Outstanding flavor, without being heavy handed. There are so many things we want to come back and try, in addition to favorite dishes that they beautifully executed. Kinara is not just a new gem for Carroll County. It is great having Kinara in Eldersburg. The food is very tasty. I especially enjoy the Samosas, Chicken Saag and lamb dishes. We eaten there twice but get take out. The garlic naan is wonderful! It would be nice to have either a smaller vegetarian dish or more vegetable side dish with the main course. Some is the dishes are mostly a meat with yummy sauces. We had their lunch buffet today (Feb.7, 2025) which is from 12 noon till 3 pm. We arrived shortly after 12:30. The food was cold! Only the Jamoons were delicious and warm. Very disappointed with the quality, variety & taste. They charged us a weekend rate of $20.99 when their website says "Lunch Buffet - Monday - Friday" and I read online that their lunch buffet was $13.99! They need to correct this. We've been to many Indian buffets and none of them serve cold food! Will not be visiting Kinara again. Saw only one worker who took us to our table, was talking on his phone the entire time and coughing (loose phlegmy cough) frequently without covering his mouth. Everything is very good and they give better portions than some of the farther away Indian restaurants. The spice levels can be somewhat inconsistent. I wanted to leave a fantastic review, but this visit disappointed. The decor was OK (rather all over the place with its design elements), but where things fell short were the food and the service. Service was friendly, but there were several mistakes with only two other tables in the entire restaurant occupied. A wrong drink was brought out. Later, a refill was oddly brought out for someone that had barely taken a sip out of their first drink. No offer for additional rice after our rice was gone. A very long wait for the check with the only server busy behind the bar. While the mango lassi was good, it was on the small side, with none of the flair of several of the other Indian places we visit. The samosas were small and lacked flavor. The server said they are not made on property. 8 bucks for two small frozen samosas is too much when I can get them at a big box store for a fraction of the cost. (This made us question what else in the restaurant might not be homemade.) I had the Paneer Tikka Masala, and while the menu boasted green bell peppers, onions, and tomatoes, there were none of those things, just a thick tomato soup-like sauce with paneer cheese cubes. Only fair. The garlic naan had little flavor to the point where I may not have known it had garlic at all. The other entrees served to our table were pretty good. Unfortunately, this visit did not convince me to include Kinara in our regular rotation of Indian restaurants (mostly in the Ellicott City/Columbia area). Clearly, other people had better experiences, so we will perhaps try it again a few months from now. read more

All employees were welcoming and on point. We started with the Guacamole Tadka Fries and were glad we did! They had so many layers of flavor and textures with a chutney of fresh tomatoes and onions and creamy guacamole and a very spicy finish that we barely registered that the fries were not hand cut. Among the four of us, we ordered Shrimp Butter Masala, Chicken Tikka Masala, Mango Chicken Curry, and Chicken Korma. My husband and I came to this restaurant because of it's stellar reviews. The decor was really pretty and the menu was really interesting and had different things from the usual Indian restaurant menu. We ordered tandoori dumplings, cheese naan, garlic naan, chicken korma, and the chefs biryani which had lamb, goat, chicken q d shrimp in it. The tandoori dumplings were ok and lacked flavor but the dip that came with it was really good. The chicken korma was really good but they biryani was ok. And the yogurt sauce with it tasted like tsztaiki sauce. They were also out of goat at the time we went. The garlic naan bread was excellent and the cheese none was underwhelming. Overall it was an ok dinner with ok food. It isn't a place I would go out the way for but it is one of the few Indian restaurants in Carroll county. read more

Really nice new restaurant (open 7 weeks) with modern decor & comfortable. The water feature in the restaurant provides nice background noise to muffle other conversations. We didn't even notice the sound until it was turned off at the end of the night. There are goat and lamb options, vegetarian selections, and tandoori skewers. All of our food including dessert was excellent. There's a nice cocktail list although descriptions would be helpful. I ordered the Tikka paneer for takeout. First time for this place. It was ready on time, I was handed my food quickly. I noticed... it seemed a little... light. But again, first time. Got home, opened up a small container in a large bag. There was the paneer, cut into triangles and placed on a few onions, carrots, and bell peppers. And really, that's it. The quantity, especially for $16.95 would have been decent for a main dish. But without any rice, a vegetable dish, or even a piece of naan bread, it was pricey AND skimpy. A side salad, a container of hummus, just... anything. The paneer itself was OK. Maybe a bit on the firm side, but that's fine. Having not been there before, I ordered the mild option. This was mild to the point of having no flavor. I get keeping the heat down, but really... Orange was the color, the flavor was... nothing. If I gave them a second try I'd go for broke and select hot. Heat's not flavor, but it's something. That said - I'll circle back to the value of the meal. $16.95 (and a 15% tip because I ordered ahead of time) and I can't feel like this was a good value. Maybe they are better if you dine in? Maybe they offer sides instead of selling a small main portion of an entree for a meal's price. Maybe not. Either way, this is a one and done trip for me. Absolutely impressed with the quality of Kinara. I've eaten here multiple times and have enjoyed everything I've had. The lunch buffet is always a good place to get to eat a little bit of everything too. The chicken tikka, lamb korma, saag and garlic naan are my go-to's! What I really want to give credit to is Bhavin! My mother in law got catering for an anniversary party that we were planning. And he worked so well with us to make sure that we were ordering enough food for the amount of people we were having. He gave us a great suggestion to be able to accommodate some of our guests who had allergy restrictions. And the delivery was on time, and everything was hot, as well as organized well to know what was was. And of course absolutely delicious! We got so many compliments on the food.
