In my opinion, this institution is a huge setback to our area. They seem to be more concerned with…read moretheir own interests than the people they "serve". I have tried for over a month to contact patient relations. I got one call back from "Ashley". I called back leaving messages to call back, but now for over a month, they have seemingly deliberately ignored my requests. I put another call in to the main 3333 number to make a fresh request. The person answering clearly knew who I was and what the situation I was calling about was. I was assured I would be called back, but as of one week I have heard nothing. In general, I hear many people say that the doctors there generally don't really care about their patients, that they are arrogant, and don't communicate well. There is much more that i could say, but i will say that a large majority of the staff, are genuine people from our area, and do their job well, but the medical providers are the main problem that i have noticed and heard complaints about. There are definitely some good doctors, but they apper the exception not the rule. i only have experience with certain providers. Some are great some not at all. I do hear feed back from a number of people i know who feel similarly. One other important observation is that when you rate a Stanford doctor highly, they give you a rating questionnaire AFTER EVERY VISIT. Once you give a bad rating, say because you learned that an "excellent " physician was actually a "fair weather friend" and suddenly wasn't so good at all if things got challenging, then they seem to stop asking for evaluations. You will notice that their physicians public individual ratings are based on internal surveys, and it is difficult to find a way to rate the physician outside of their internal system, thus likely artificially boosting their ratings by limiting the negative ratings...

Outstanding medical staff, but facilities and one unprofessional nurse left room for improvement…read more My wife Nikki and I recently had a 4-day stay at Stanford Tri-Valley to welcome our first child, our daughter Oraya Rose. From the moment we walked in, the staff was incredibly accommodating, starting with Jeanette at the front desk who gave us a warm welcome and a smooth check-in. The Medical & Nursing Team We cannot say enough good things about our doctors. Dr. Veeragandham (our delivering doctor) and Dr. Chandler (who cared for my wife in the days prior) were the most comforting and phenomenal doctors we've ever experienced. You can truly tell they care deeply about their jobs and their patients. Dr. Sanders, who discharged us, was also fantastic; he kindly expedited our release knowing we were exhausted from the small post-labor room and just wanted to head home. Throughout our long stay, we were supported by an army of wonderful nurses who checked in frequently to ensure we had a pleasant stay. We want to thank Kelly, Michelle, Chayenne, Stacia, Suzanne, Elizabeth, Maddie, Tricia, Deanna, Liz, Rachelle, Noelle, and Ranjita. We also want to give a special shoutout to Aaliyah, who was immensely helpful with my wife's labor exercises early on. Our absolute standout was our delivering nurse, Shinika (who we understand is a traveling nurse). She is a tremendous asset to the Stanford team! Her guidance and support were instrumental--she coached my wife so well that she was able to push the baby out in under 35 minutes. Constructive Feedback & Areas for Improvement Unfortunately, we did have a highly negative interaction with another nurse, Jen, who was in the room during delivery. There was palpable tension and attitude from Jen directed at Shinika. Even worse, while my wife was actively pushing, Jen abruptly announced, "The baby's heart rate is dropping." This caught us completely off guard, caused unnecessary panic, and disrupted my wife's focus. Thankfully, Shinika and Dr. Veeragandham immediately reassured us that everything was fine, and even the other staff in the room looked at Jen in confusion regarding what she was doing. We brought this up to the Assistant Nurse Manager, Joseph, but I am reiterating it here so Jen can be properly trained. If there is an urgent matter, it needs to be communicated professionally with the doctor, not blurted out to terrify a mother actively pushing out a baby. Facilities & Amenities The rooms were okay, but felt outdated and small compared to LPCH. Additionally, we were promised a celebratory meal once the baby was born, but we never received it. We were really looking forward to that after such a long and grueling hospital stay. Another suggestion for the hospital would be to add a community kitchen or hydration station for families. We felt terrible repeatedly asking the busy nurses for water and snacks. We didn't want to treat the medical staff like room service knowing they have far more important duties, so it got to the point where I just left the hospital to buy supplies at a store. Overall, the incredible medical care and nursing support made our experience a positive one despite the hiccups. Thank you to Dr. Veeragandham, Shinika, and the rest of the amazing team for bringing our daughter safely into the world! In the future, however, we will likely aim for a delivery at LPCH for a more modern feel and comfortable space within the same network.

She expertly put me on a regimen of non-toxic compounds that she adjusts every quarter based upon her indefatigable updating of the advanced science on which she relies. She is both caring and direct. I credit her with much understanding and support and, essentially, keeping me alive while I avoided toxic recommendations from my more traditional team. The complexity of Dr. Mielke's patients means that while she has a killer memory and excellent medical training plus nearly a quarter century of running her clinic, she simply cannot know everything that will ultimately be the key to a particular individual recovery. For those dealing with autism, Lyme and similar tick borne illnesses, for supplemental information that may be really helpful to try, give the recordings from the Autism Health Summit 2025 a hearing (info@autismhealth.com). This review is long overdue…read more I was seen by Dr.Mielke from April 2020-July 2020 and then again from November 2020-April 2021. In total, I had approximately 9 visits either in-person or through a voice call. To her credit, Dr. Mielke did try her best to treat my ongoing mysterious symptoms; I have been unwell since late summer 2017. I do credit her for introducing me to a few things that were of help with chronic Lyme. She introduced me to the Relax Brand sauna, PlusCBD oil, and LDN. She also helped me understand that have a double mutated MAOA gene and cannot tolerate SSRIs.I thank her for these suggestions /prescriptions. However, by the last visit or two, I understood that she really did not know the root cause of my issue. She kept suggesting nutrition testing and practicing DNRS- neither of which helped to a large extent. In December 2020, she put me on a trial of herbs used to treat Lyme. In February or March, she put me on a full on herbal protocol. After 30 days, I did not feel markedly better. She pompously proclaimed, " Well then, it must not be Lyme. This protocol worked so well for so-and-so." I get the impression that she is not well-versed in treating Lyme. If she was, she would have ordered a CD57 test and used Vibrant Wellness labs to check a full spectrum of tick born illnesses. I'm sad that I spent this time and money not to feel any better. If you suspect you may have Lyme, be advised before selecting Dr.Mielke.

Yes, it is a bit odd to have a doctor answer the phone all the time, but he is more than happy to set up an appointment, and he always is thorough on details pertaining to the patient. He has even come through last minute when we needed him. My recent experience, he requested a blood testing (which hasn't been done by my other two children from previous experience) for my youngest child (he asked me if my child had been taking in any iron) and they found my youngest has an anemic condition from that blood test. With a regular provider, I'm pretty certain (based on my other two children) that I may not have even known about his condition had I not come here. He's always been so patient and friendly whenever we come to his clinic to get our child checked. He always thinks of the patient and is always happy to help the parent navigate anything they need for their child. After assigning him as my child's PCP the process has always been so smooth. I don't have to wait on the phone for odd amount of minutes (I have been on hold for nearly an hour to set up appointments in the past), he's in a decent location, no waiting 2 to 3 weeks of appointment time to get my child's needs taken care of. He will take you in within the same week, if not the same day, if he has the availability. I highly recommend this doctor if you are looking for someone who is always more than happy to help, can take care of your child's needs first, and not having to navigate through a whole system to get an appointment.
