Just solely on their e-bar I rate Nordstrom with five stars. Looking beyond their awesome coffee it would still get nothing less than five stars. The staff has always been helpful at this location. I was looking for a Madewell sweater that said was in store and the kind associate informed me that sometimes the website says it's in store when it's not so it's always best to call. Our whole family has purchased many items through the years. In the past if you needed to return an item or a item that was given as gift, you never had any issues. Not sure what has transpired over the past few years in management but, we as a family intend to stay away from the new Nordstrom model and let everyone else know. Took a trip this morning 3/5/2020 down to the Brea Mall Nordstrom Had the Privilege of making a payment on the second floor woman's department, Register 4620. Was greeted by Juanita P, apparently Juanita woke up this morning and told herself she didn't want to handle physical cash today. This message was relayed to me aggressively and very rudely. Everyone in the world is aware that the Corona Virus is a serious matter, and by no means am I disrespecting people's feelings about it but if you don't want to handle other peoples Cash than maybe working at a register isn't the right career for you. I would recommend giving employees sensitivity training and how to wear gloves if your feeling unsafe. Today I called to cancel my brow appointment at the ABH brow bar. I know that the beauty employees are already under strict regulations to not touch the customers, so calling to cancel was just a courtesy. I was surprised they hadn't already called to cancel me! Came to make a return for my designer bag(Gucci) and had a very unhappy experience. Briefly I return this unused bag bought online b/c Saks had a better offer at Thanksgiving. However, the lady called Lisa at customer service desk made every effort to prevent me from returning. She first claimed the bag had some scratch inside. I explained the bag itself has a manufacturing imperfection since I noticed a same sign in the one I got from Saks(I accept that imperfection IT'S GENUINE LEATHER! THEY CAME IN THAT WAY!). Then she said OK you should go to another store b/c we don't have designer departments here. I said hey should I remind you Burberry and Celine is just around the corner? And your website didn't say anything about must return to a special location. Then she found a new excuse telling me to return online. I refused b/c I don't want to risk return a $3000 bag by USPS(which is offered by Nordstrom). And I drove 30 miles to your store just wanna make sure you received that safely. Finally she is very unhappy(I don't know why she has such a unpleasant attitude) and told me have to call manager. I said yes please I could talk with him/her myself. At last she agreed to return. And from her words, she was like hey you should be grateful about this. This is certainly the worst ever service I had in these years. Definitely won't come back. This is my usual Nordstrom because I enjoy eating in the cafe and They usually give great customer service. I'm knocking down a star though because for some reason, the last couple of times I've been to the Dior makeup counter they have a snotty attitude! The last time was an older white lady with blonde hair with an attitude and tonight the lady was a brunette with glasses. Not sure if she's always at Dior but I asked to sample a foundation and I told her which one. All I said was that I had oily skin. She lectured me about how the foundation I choose didn't matter my skin type. She was so aggressive with the way she talked even my bf was like wtf?! I just rolled my eyes. Now I wish I would've said something. But honestly, I was tipsy from eating and drinking in the cafe so I didn't care in the moment. Later I thought about it and realized that the last few times at Dior, the customer service has not been to Nordstrom standards! Next time I'm going to get all of their names and report how stuck up they are! There is no reason to be giving an attitude when people are spending money. I do wanna say that Rebecca who works the register in the cafe, one of the wait staff (I never know his name, but he's tall and looks exotic with a tattoo on his hand) and Lilian who works at Estée Lauder are fantastic!! The next time I want something from Dior I'm going to ask Lilian to help me! Oh and another thing, at least at Estée Lauder they use the machine to see your foundation match. I give the brea location multiple chances and always fails. However, the Cerritos location I always get great service. Every time that I've gone, I've been greeted by an employee who asks if I want to see anything or need anything. I always love browsing through this store and checking out all the displays. One of the employees a few weeks ago mentioned I could get Nordy points for my purchase this year, retrospectively. Today I came in with a goal to get the points applied from previous purchases. I asked several employees in the woman sport and children department if they could help, stating another employee said It was possible and everyone verbalized they didn't know what I was talking about. FINALLY KAREN from infant/children department spent over an hour with me helping me to get the points. She was so gracious and never made me feel rushed or like an annoyance. Very poor customer service. I bought a pair of rainbow sandals and within a week they started peeling. I returned them and that was no problem. The next pair they gave me did the same thing within a week. The only thing that they wanted to do was give me store credit. I was asking for my money back since the product defected and there was no customer service whatsoever. I will not shop at the store due to this fact. They seem bored and completely uninterested in what they're doing. The two of them even started arguing with each other right in front of us like children. They were on their phones the entire time and are bossing my fiancé around with demands instead of politely asking. This lack of customer service has me terrified for the end result. Best customer service? Nordstrom's of course. Why? Consistency. I can go to any location and know the level of service will meet my expectations & that does not sound bitchy. It's a characteristic all humans share- the need for control. Social media has been so blown out of proportion- you don't know what to believe anymore. Society turns to sites such as Yelp to help them form an opinion and make a decision. Yep. Stimulation overload bombards us everywhere. Traffic, conversations, typing, texting, videos, posting, ordering, complaining, etc.. It's exhausting. Your brain just wants a little peace & if that means walking into a Nordstrom knowing you will be welcomed with smiles, good manners & offered various selections of whatever it is that interests you; we will eagerly slip into that cloud of peace. Whenever someone is willing to share their ideas with you- listen to them. Have courtesy. This person is trusting you with their opinion. Then share yours. It's a beautiful exchange we as a society has almost brought to extinction: physical, decent, polite, friendly and direct communication. When was the last time you have actually listened to someone's voice? Their tone? Pitch? Depth? What about music? The lyrics? Hope? Fun? Instruments? The Melody? Beauty? What is The Message? I'm a long time customer at Nordstrom, but this is the 1st time I had such an unpleasant experience for online order return at the store on 7/28/2021. I received my online order size 6 pricey Dolce & Gabbana jacket, and it feel a bit run down, i.e tags were not all together and threads were coming off. So I decided to order another one and hope it it will come in at good condition, but when I try to return the 1st jacket, the return help desk told me, she needs to verify with the designer dept. so I waited for good 5- 10 minutes. When she came back, she told me she cannot process the return, because some tag was not there, and they cannot sell it. But I guess it was ok for Nordstrom to sent me something they won't even take it back. So I told her, that's all 2 tags as is condition when I received it and besides I already ordered another size 6, due to the condition of the jacket was sent to me. So she call a "manager" and then told me the "manager" is assisting some customer, so I have to wait again...... I try to explain to her, check my purchase history, there is 2nd size 6 order in transit. Finally, someone maybe more senior from the same return help desk step in to help and accepted my return, after reviewing my purchase history. I will definitely think twice before placing another high end designer brand item from Nordstrom, instead order with Saks, or Neiman Marcus to avoid insults during online order returns. read more

This review is for the return station located next to the order/pick up station at Nordstrom. After picking up an item and trying it on, I had a question regarding the fabric. No one was at the alteration station so I walked over to the return station for assistance. Two young women were standing there and ignored me as I stood for several minutes waiting to be helped. This was despite standing directly in front of them. One was training the other but they did not even bother to acknowledge me or refer me to someone who could assist. I finally walked over to the alteration station where another associate assisted me. This is disappointing given that I shop at Nordstrom to receive quality customer service and care. I must say that it was great that a Nordstroms Customer Service rep from Yelp took the time to contact me regarding my embarrassing experience. My review was then forwarded to the Brea store manager who then addressed it with the Dress department manager. They asked for me to return to the store to further assist me. Unfortunately I had already given the dress back to my sister who returned it at her nearest Nordstrom store no questions asked! Unfortunately for them, damage is done. Unfortunately for me, my fiance had to purchase his Linen Suit for our wedding through the Nordstrom Website (last night) since we could not find anyone else who carried a 100% linen suit. Dear God, I experienced some terrible customer service here. I'm assuming there were only two people working because both were doing makeup on clients, and I'm literally standing at the counter waiting to give you people my money and I can't get any help. I understand when you're short-staffed, but here's an idea: how about having someone there to help with people who just want to buy something. Finally when someone was free I wasn't even acknowledged and they helped the other person waiting. I finally just left and spent my money at the actual MAC store. OMG these guy's screwed up my credit and would not admit it nor assist me in repairing their mistake on my credit report. I made a purchase not realizing it went over our credit limit by ~$63. The clerk did not remind us that our new Nordstrom's Card had a $750 limit. Nor did we receive a call from their TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE advising us of this issue. We could have easily increased our Card's limit to $1000 or more. So I am in the middle of getting a loan to remodel our home and see my perfect credit report with a new DEROGATORY INFORMATION- "CARD OVER THE LIMIT " . I really hate to knock down stars for this location because I've never had an experience that made me feel like writing a mediocre review, but this review is two stars because of the Jo Malone department. Two bad experiences with the same person is enough to deter me away from here! I purchased about $270 of fragrance from Jo Malone London a few months ago, and never used them. I brought them back and explained that I wanted to exchange for different scents because I've didn't use them (which means I didn't like my original purchase). The SA helping me (Jannee?) was also the SA that helped me with my initial purchase. I remember her because my first experience at JML Brea was with her - unfriendly and makes you feel like she wants you out of there ASAP. So she started off by asking, "well, do you have them? I need to see them first" which threw me off because it doesn't matter if I have them or not - you could've helped me pick out some scents and I could come back another day to exchange them - if I didn't have them with me this moment. Long story short - it took me a while to exchange since there were so many diff scents. I eventually picked out bottles to exchange (which was exactly the same exchange price), and since it was an "exchange" she asked me if I just wanted to "toss them back into my pouch". I was so baffled - I told her I didn't want them to hit against each other inside my makeup bag and crack, so I asked for a bag or tissue paper to wrap them before putting it in, and she threw them inside a tiny Nordstrom cardboard box for me. FYI: I was polite and asked kindly for everything the whole time. I ended up being so upset and unsatisfied by the attitude and service I received that I went to Arcadia and was greeted and treated SOOO differently! I told the SA at Westfield Santa Anita and she immediately asked and described her -- she knew who I was talking about because I AM "THE THIRD CUSTOMER" to tell her about the SA at JML Brea. She even asked me, "she wrapped it in a Nordstrom box?" and I told her it was an exchange, but she claims she should've wrapped it in their signature box regardless. Well, yeah because how much does that JML box cost you? Nothing. Unless they charge the employees for using "too many" boxes... no reason to be stingy (or lazy?). I ended up spending MORE at Arcadia for my exchange because I was much happier with the SA there than Brea! The SA there wrapped it soooooo nice for me and made me feel luxurious. I shouldn't leave feeling dissatisfied with mediocre customer service with a $$$+ purchase. Glad to know I'm not the only one upset at JML Brea. I am extremely adamant about never returning to JML Brea. I'd rather drive to Arcadia than go back here. Two bad experiences is enough. read more

She greeted me and escorted me to the correct department, selected dresses based on the color scheme and style I was interested in, brought me to the dressing room and checked in with me.
