I have mixed reviews about this Nordstrom location. I have had some great experiences and some not so pleasant ones. I've done a lot of online shopping this Christmas so all I have to do is pick up from the store when ready. I didn't like that when I asked for boxes for my items she just handed me the box and ribbon. I feel like with how much money I spend here, the least you can do is box up my purchase. Another con, the woman at the jewelry department. Most of them are so snotty, their looks alone can kill. PROS: MARIO was amazing! He was approachable, knowledgeable and caring. When I asked a woman to check me out for an Alex and ani bracelet, she asked him to help me. Maybe because it was on sale lol. He was so sweet and talkative. AND he had no problem boxing this gift up, given it was a gift. Also BRANDON Z in the woman's clothing area was incredible! He was sincere and very welcoming. First time back to cosmetic counter since covid to give my make up a boost from pandemic depression. The employees seemed more interested in socializing with their fellow makeup colleagues than helping me. Very short and not very excited to provide the customer service that Nordstrom used to pride themselves on 20 years ago. Nordstrom, located on the Northwest corner of the Brea Mall, is three stories tall. They have 2 parking structures that you can park in sometimes (but if you can't find parking, you're stuck). On the first floor, you have men's shoes, men's clothing, women's shoes, and women's purses. A lot of my time is spent here unfortunately. Whyyy ): They have excellent customer service, as they are usually on point and nice in asking you if need help or if anyone is helping them. Plus, if you need stuff wrapped up, they take the time to make sure that they wrap your item w/ tissue paper and in their box. Second floor, if I recall, are women's dresses, shirts, etc. Some of my time is spent here. You can usually find some "sale" or "clearance" racks here. Pants? Here. Shirts? Here. If you need to wear something, you can find it here (if you're a girl :P ) Third floor. Um... I know lingerie is here but I forget if baby stuff is here or what else makes the rest of the third floor. Almost none of my time is spent here. They do have the third floor Nordstrom Cafe, which has amazing food (see the review on that). You can go in for a sit down lunch, a dinner, or a snack while you are shopping! It's been awhile since I have spent good money on shoes. I have been buying all my flats for the past few years at Target, but I am getting tired of spending $20 or $30 on shoes that get screwed up after a few months. So, today I decided to just bite the bullet and go spend a bit more for some higher quality shoes. I decided on Nordstom since Macy's was an effing madhouse and I know that Nordstrom will take shoes back if something goes wrong. I was looking around for a few minutes and a very friendly sales lady - Janelle - came over to help me. I showed her the shoes I wanted to try. She went back and got two different sizes for me. After I tried those on, I looked around and found some more I wanted. She went back again and brought them out for me. They were too narrow :( So I explained what kind of shoes I like, and asked her if she could recommend anything that is wider than the ones I liked. She took her time and showed me around the department, showing me different shoes that I might like. I finally found some, so she went back and got those for me. Lucky for me, they fit. Now I had 3 pairs of shoes, and I was done. She took me to the register and rang me up. As I was walking out, I saw another pair of shoes I liked that I had missed during the walk through with her. I saw she had gone to the back, so I waited for her to come back out. When she did, she came right over and helped me again. I wanted them in two different colors. They only had one color in stock in my size...so she told me she would order the other color and have them shipped to my house for free :) I really liked Janelle, she made my shopping experience fun and convenient...I normally hate shopping and I hate dealing with sales people, but she was very sweet and patient with me. On July 16th 2022 I had an appointment at Nordstrom's Charlotte Tilbury makeup for my baby shower. I was so excited to buy the premium quality products and excellent service both brands are known for. I left sorely disappointed. I was very visibly 30+ weeks pregnant and came into the store wearing a mask though I am vaccinated and boosted. I asked the makeup artist to wear a mask because I'm pregnant which makes me more vulnerable to all communicable disease. She immediately refused to wear a mask because she "didn't have to." Neither she nor her colleagues could be bothered to put on a mask to assist me with my makeup appointment nor to help me find another makeup artist within Nordstrom who would be agreeable. I left the counter feeling rejected, a little more scared of covid and badly treated for a minimal request. I was there to buy expensive products and to feel fabulous on my big day. This brand let me know they cared nothing for my health or comfort. Do not visit the Nordstrom Charlotte Tilbury makeup counter if you value your health and peace of mind. They cannot be inconvenienced to assist you properly. read more

I asked if there were any promotions or free gifts and he said no. Went over to the women's fragrance department (all staff is very kind in this department) and was told about the promotion and free gifts with samples. They have great customer service, and you never have to look around for someone to help you with anything. Located at the Brea Mall, I came by this location this afternoon with my husband to check out the last day of the clearance sale. Over this past year, my fondness for Nordstrom has truly grown, due to their customer service and awesome rewards system for their credit card. But anyways, as I walked around the handbag section (my favorite department to look at every single time I am in a Nordstrom), this one male employee greeted me and asked if I need any assistance. I told him that I am find and thanked him for asking. He responded back 'of course, my pleasure'. He was really in a friendly and cheery mood, which is hard to do, especially when you are on your feet all day. Then as I walked over to another section of the handbag department (which by the way is rather small.. much smaller than other locations I have been to), one male employee greeted me and answered my question about the designer clearance. He was friendly and made me feel welcomed and game me his full attention. I also observed another friendly male employee (seems that there were no female employees working this department at the time of this visit) who was helping out this man who was looking for a purse for his wife (What a classy man! Take notes gentlemen). He was very patient in answering the man's questions about the handbag and also about possibly opening up a store credit card. The handbag department alone already gets 5 stars. But as I was browsing through the shoe department (1st floor) and women's clothing (2nd floor), I was greeted by a few friendly employees on the sales floor. Again, not an easy thing to do when you are on your feet all day long. On the 3rd floor, I was greeted by friendly employees as well. On this floor, you will find the cafe, lingerie, home decor and children's clothing (including children shoes). Each department I browsed through and digged through the clearance racks (up to 40% off), were clean. No clothing on the floor, everything neatly organized. Sales associates also available in case you need help finding something or need a changing room. Nordstrom is truly a wonderful store where they make a customer feel welcomed and this location is no exception (I have had my fair share of some not so great locations). Superb customer service, I would be more than happy to come back here again in case I am in the area. read more

I love Nordstroms. Whenever I walk in, I feel like I'm a million dollars even if I'm in a dress and Rainbows. I love this place. I came in earlier today to use up most of my gift card that I've had for about 3 years now. I've used up most of the money, but I still had about $30 left. I decided to come in and see what I could get that was still within my fashion and in my budget. I decided to try on this great dress and cardigan. Although I didn't love the dress, I loved the cardigan. The dressing rooms are really nice too. The one in the juniors section upstairs has this cool hanging wall thing that is perfect for putting clothes on. The customer service there is phenomenal. Overall great experience and would go back loads and loads of times...if I had the money for it. read more

Exceptional customer service. I was Christmas shopping for my husband in search of a telescope at the Brea mall. I went in to multiple department stores asking for help and everyone basically just said, "search online." Then I went into Nordstrom and the store associate not only looked in the system to check (they don't sell them) but also suggested some other stores in the mall that might have what I was looking for. It was incredible that during the holidays, a week before Christmas, he took his time to help me, knowing he would gain nothing from doing so. read more

I took my mom shopping for shoes the other day. This sounds like it would be an easy task, but nothing is simple when it involves dementia. We had a bad experience at a shoe store in the mall (apathetic salesperson who put out minimal effort), but our day turned around when we walked into Nordstrom's shoe department. Joel served us well by bringing shoebox after shoebox with much grace, patience, and humor as my mom tried on many. He listened to our needs and offered great suggestions. Unfortunately, I horrible experience with Nordstrom, Brea Mall. I had a very special event I was attending where I had planned to donate $1,000 toward the children's hospital. It was a black tie event so I needed a beautiful suit that would fit the occasion. Of course, Nordstrom's is known for their brand of excellent customer service, so it was a no brainer that I would go there because this event was a big deal to me. I knew my wifey was going to be looking gorgeous and I wanted to look my best. I found the most beautiful black suit there and was so excited. I even paid a $25 rush fee to get it tailored to perfection. When I received the text that my suit was ready, I was so excited. I felt like the Nordstrom brand was everything I heard about as they are always featured in case studies as the model for excellent service. I went down the next afternoon to pick up my beautiful suit. The salesman that sold it to me was there working, so i waited for him to help me. He was very professional and even bagged my suit for me after retrieving it from the back. I took the suit home and after a couple hours, jumped in the shower to get ready. Well, imagine my surprise when I found out that my suit HAD NOT EVEN BEEN TOUCHED BY THE TAILOR. It had the same chalk marks on it from when I was fitted. I couldn't believe it. I ended up wearing an old suit to the event. Soooo disappointing!!!!! The next day I returned the suit and asked that my salesman be made aware of what happened. It's been a couple of weeks and no call or outreach from Nordstrom at all which surprised me considering how catastrophic this error was. I am so disappointed with Nordstrom's right now. I don't know if I will give them my business in the future. Epic FAIL!!! read more

I went to men's section to get my son a belt etc... walked in and immediately walked up to Zack young guy with a lot of class. He just looked like one who would know couture . He may be young but guy looks well put together ( doesn't look like needs a job) he said Ferragamo belt and I knew made the right decision going to him. They refused to process my refund after receiving the package that I returned and they have received based on the tracking number. I returned 3 evening gowns 4 months ago and they casually refuse to pay for my refund which means they are acting against their own policy. I have to give this review because the old white lady in working (looks like Janie)in the handbags department is extremely rude and biased. I purchased a Chloe bag 3 days ago for my girl friend and we found somewhere cheaper for the same item so we decide to return and purchase there. What I can not tolerate is her attitude as if we take advantage of this return and already wore this bag. I reminded her that your bag has a tiny scratch which was already there when I first purchased this item. But she acted as if we scratched this bag and want to cheat. So rude and unprofessional. This is not the first time I got into trouble with this Nordstrom location. Last time the staff there forgot to detach the sounder and I had to drive all the way back to deal with this shit. I don't recommend this Nordstrom at all. You can get the same item somewhere else with better service and better price. read more

Not sure what has transpired over the past few years in management but, we as a family intend to stay away from the new Nordstrom model and let everyone else know. This review is for the shoe department only. I have not had a bad experience at the shoe department here. I came in looking for a pair of knee high boots (perfect timing for the half yearly sale). Unfortunately, I was not in love with any of the boots that were on sale and not even the ones that were not on sale. No worries though, I found 2 pairs of ankle boots to keep me company. I've been coming to this Nordstrom for a few years now and have had the same sales person help me decide on some of my many purchases. As busy as it can be in the store like Black Friday or in and around Christmas, he is attentive and is sure that I'm not left behind a pile of shoes. if I'm saddened about not finding the pair that i came in for well I will surely get over it when I'm shown a pair or two that will make up for it. And if they don't have the size or color in stock, they will try to locate your size/color at another location, without hesitation. This is definitely one of my favorite locations to shop. read more

On top of that, they've always got nice things to choose from for both men and women. I love coming here for the coffee and my girlfriend loves it for the shopping. Took a trip this morning 3/5/2020 down to the Brea Mall Nordstrom Had the Privilege of making a payment on the second floor woman's department, Register 4620. Was greeted by Juanita P, apparently Juanita woke up this morning and told herself she didn't want to handle physical cash today. This message was relayed to me aggressively and very rudely. Everyone in the world is aware that the Corona Virus is a serious matter, and by no means am I disrespecting people's feelings about it but if you don't want to handle other peoples Cash than maybe working at a register isn't the right career for you. I would recommend giving employees sensitivity training and how to wear gloves if your feeling unsafe. I also noticed that at each register there is a hand sanitizing station, maybe wash your hands after you handled the Mula Juanita !!!!! read more

Today I called to cancel my brow appointment at the ABH brow bar. I know that the beauty employees are already under strict regulations to not touch the customers, so calling to cancel was just a courtesy. I was surprised they hadn't already called to cancel me! To my horror, I was told that they are still keeping appointments! What?! What "leader" made such a reckless decision? I bet the one that sits behind a computer screen in the safety and comfort of his/her own home. Awful. I'm sorry ladies.
