I am the sort of person who doesn't wear suits very often. James was really kind to explain how it all works e.g., width of the tie should be the same as the lapel, belt should match the shoes, how the fitting of the suit should be. I was in a time crunch and James was really patient in addressing all my concerns and really excited to help me in choosing a suit for my wedding. He helped me not only in finding the perfect suit but helped me in picking a tie, belt, tie clip and shoes as well. He also scheduled me an appointment with Tony & Guy for a haircut and Neiman Marcus for a facial. He went above and beyond my expectations of a good stylist. Always helpful... they work on commission so they have to be. Both my better half and I purchased high end suits from respective departments and the employees were nice, as were the products. However, they can still be sloppy. They didn't have my size and ordered a suit from a store far away, charging my card. In order to expedite the order, when the employee helping me realized that there was one at a close by store, another suit was ordered without first consulting with me. My card was charged again. No receipt was provided because I hadn't picked the suit up yet and when I ended up going with yet another suit they had in store at a different location, I realized I had been charged for the other suits and had a huge problem returning thousands of dollars in suits that I never actually physically collected, nor had a receipt. It all worked out, but not after many hours and some stress. Keep in mind, many Nordstrom employees are just kids (literally, one was still in high school at the Frisco location) pretending to be knowledgeable about thousand plus dollar suits... which I am sure they have never even tried on, let alone owned. Do your own research and whatever you do, don't let them dictate the sizing. read more

I've come to hate shopping here and debated about the star rating (1 vs 2). The staff try really hard to assist, but it feels like being harassed when 5-10 people keep asking to assist you (within a 20 min period) when you repeatedly state you just want to browse. On a different trip I did online recon to verify that what I wanted to purchase was in stock. Upon arrival, was told one item was available online only and never sold in store. I don't think I have been more loyal to a store! I always go here when I am looking for something they carry. I was in this Nordstrom location last week looking at fragrances. We came across a lady named Mrs. Green. She was so very helpful and patient. What stands out about her is her willingness to go above and beyond to make me feel like a valued customer. I have honestly never ran into anyone in the service industry that is as dedicated as she. She helped my mother select a perfume. She helped my daughter select one. She showed me different skin care lines. She didn't pressure me into a sale with anything. She gave me samples of the skin care line. She was knowledgeable about her products. She searched through all the drawers and gave us a free make up bag, a free purse and a bunch of samples. She really wanted us to be happy and she wasn't looking for a sale. I was so impressed with this lady that I will make a point to go back to her to satisfy all of my beauty needs! Go by there and ask for Mrs. Green and you'll see what I am talking about. read more

i'm from new york. so trust me, i know what i'm doing when it comes to shopping. not to toot my own horn but i know a damn good store when i see one, and this places wins. i haven't been to too many nordstroms, maybe several others besides this one, but i've been to plenty of department stores... and i hate them, usually. generally i don't consider shopping to be a 'luxurious' experience [i'm a vintage devotee to the core] however, nordstrom has taught me that you can, indeed, feel swathed in luxuriance whilst emptying your pockets... however, not emptying them too much. that's what i love about nordstroms. it's high end and high quality without gutting your bank account too severely. the staff is helpful without being pushy, the music is pleasant without being cloying, and the racks are full without being teeming. like i said, i hate department stores... but i love love LOVE nordstroms. read more

By far one of the nicest and most practical Nordstrom's I've been to. I actually found some things here! Which never happens anytime I go to the Stonebriar location. The thing I never really cared for with Nordstrom's as a whole is that they have so many brands that are pricey, yet I've never heard of. So maybe I'm not as much as a fashionista as I thought.. or these brands just aren't known. Oh and this is a tad random, but the ladies restroom is so nice! I've generally been pleased with Nordstrom and feel they carry high quality brands. My complaint is not related to the merchandise itself, but to the poor customer service and questionable tailoring at the Dallas NorthPark location. I recently purchased 2 pairs of men's dress slacks at this location ($190 per pair). When asked if I needed alterations, I explained I'd need them to hem the bottoms and let out the waist & seat slightly. The tailor the salesperson brought out quickly marked the bottom of both sets of pants and didn't do anything with the waist. I reiterated I also needed the waist & seat let out. He proceeded to make some sort of markings on the seat of both pants, but didn't really touch my waist area or check to see precisely how much to let them out in the waist. I was a little concerned because he seemed to be moving quickly to get to the next customer. I asked "are you sure you measured the seat/waist?" Both the tailor and the salesperson said "yes, of course" & tried to usher me back into the dressing room to complete the fitting process. Here I am a week later and after picking up the pants, the bottoms are the correct length, but as I feared, the waist was not let out properly on either pair. I normally try and be polite & this is a perfect example of a time when it pays to press an issue if you want something done properly. I should have said I wanted them to double-check the waist. What upsets me is the only reason I was OK doing in-store alterations is I felt Nordstrom knows what the "right" fit is and is high-end enough to employ skilled tailors to make alterations. That was a mistake! I now had to make an extra trip to my standard tailor in Inwood Village to fix Nordstrom employees' stupidity & shoddy work. If i'd have know their services sucked, I would have saved myself a week of waiting on the alterations & taken it to my regular tailor to begin with! Lesson learned. Advice to management: Instead of allowing your employees to wait around for the next 30 thousand dollar Dallas douchebag millionaire to come in to wait on hand & foot, tell your employees to act like they appreciate every customers' time & purchase. Make sure things aren't rushed because that is when mistakes happen & bad work reflects very poorly on the store. As my regular tailor put it when I explained the situation to him "free in-store tailoring never equals good." Sad this is what you get from a store that is supposedly known for customer service. If I shop there again, maybe I'll try the Frisco store, the employees there are definitely friendlier & down to earth. read more

I've always been a Norstrom fan but this location is much too far for me...........unless there's a sale which case I pound the pavement to get down there asap! The customer service here is flawless; the beauty consultants are top notch,and they always have personal shoppers to help a sister out when you have no idea what looks good. Nordstrom is my favorite department store. They have a good selection & their customer service is great without being pretentious. When you buy something at Nordstrom, you know that if you change your mind or if when you get home & try it on & it looks completely different, Nordstrom will take it back, no questions asked. I have even bought makeup from Nordstrom, and after opening it realized that it was a bad batch, Nordstrom will switch it out- no problem. She was very dignified, not snobby, and could afford to visit her daughter for a ticket price to the tune of something like $550.00 for a one night stay. I think this kinda typifies the "Nordstrom attitude" I went to Nordstrom yesterday. As usual they had a live pianist who plays classical music including Stevie Wonder. Luis and I enjoyed speaking w/ an intelligent sales staff across the board. We met a "bloc" an Englishwoman (saleswoman) who was representing! She was stylish, 40'ish, and interested in going back to visit her country of England on a "fair-priced airline ticket" She works in the men's dept on the first floor. I like shopping at Nordstrom. We seldom purchase anything here though. We bought some bathsheets last summer and we got Luis a Psycho Bunny shirt to match the pink in a summer dress that I got from Dillard's Outlet. I like Nordstrom b/c the sales staff is interested in making a sale and I am a former "traveling saleswoman". They have nice quality wares that are "worth my time and interest" and many of their pieces represent beautiful works of art. We met a Canadian lady who made intelligible conversation in the ladies handbag dept. She elaborated on one of the handbags, Christian Louboutin when I asked her about it. I had never seen this designer's wares and was really drawn to it. We met a quiet very feminine African American Trish McEvoy saleswoman. Her "amazon-type" manager, but very nice and helpful, lead me over to her. I bought a "refillable" Blackberry and Vanilla Mush #9 pocketable fragrance, $27.06. Then I just put it right into my Louis Speedy:) Then as we ventured further I found a Deborah Lippmann nail polish in a sparkly ruby red slipper color,. We went right back to the quiet little saleswoman and Luis bought this for me, $19.49:) I was so happy shopping! I put that into my Louis Speedy too! Then we wound around and found the most beautiful smelling perfumes. A very very kind, pleasant, demure, white, young saleslady, Grace kept running around offering us excellent service. She also had a human story to share about how her car malfunctioned this morning and she had to take it to the dealer, but she was fortunate to have car rental coverage and she said the repair would have been $600.00 out of pocket had she not had the warranty. Since she did not know the name of the repair I strongly encouraged her to start a 3-ring binder and alphabetize it of the type of car repairs that she encounters going forward w/ the costs so that she can become more knowledgeable about car repairs. She liked my suggestion and plans to do it. By the way she only had one leg and hopped around w/ metal crutches and no prosthesis to help serve us. Nordstrom hires Blacks, Whites, Gays, Handicapped, Foreigners, aged, and other minorities that I have not even mentioned here. So Go Nordstrom!!! But yesterday my boyfriend decided to take me & we had both just got off work we were looking at shoes & no one greeted us & no one had helped us for 15 min.... but they were helping everyone else around us that was dressed nice & wearing designer brand names. I had a tailoring emergency the day of a black tie wedding on August 31... the tailor agreed at 1:30 to have my pants let out and ready by 6 for the 7pm wedding. They saved the day! I'm a big fan of Nordstrom so it's hard to leave this review but I was recently very disappointed. I bought a suit and needed alterations. When I walked in someone greeted me right away and told me to wait by the changing room and someone would be over shortly. 30 minutes go by and nothing. I'm walk over to the counter where 4 employees are just chit chatting having a gay old time and completely ignore me for a few minutes. Then someone asks if I've been helped, I let them know someone informed me 30 minutes ago that someone would be over to help. Turns out that person never told a tailor. Next person apologizes and says someone will be right over. 10 minutes, 15, 20 more minutes go by. I tell them I can just come back but they promise someone is on there way. Finally 15 minutes later someone finally comes and you could have sworn I was the biggest inconvenience for this man. Was impatient and in a hurry. Finally he gets done and tells it will be ready on Saturday (this was a Monday) not that big of a deal. I show up on Saturday and apparently it is for the following Saturday. They hadn't even begun. This was such a ridiculous experience and I am so disappointed in Nordstrom for this. read more

So I am a life long Nordstrom shopper and I live very close to north park so I'm in here often. It's usually very busy all the time but they have great options and stock. Most of the sales people are great here too, the key word being most. I have been taken care of very well at times and completely ignored at other times. Unless you reek of wealth sometimes the staff kind of ignores you. Recently I went to the Chanel counter to buy makeup and they were really rude. I actually had to go twice and all three employees were incredibly snobby, so I decided to return all the products I bought there. I don't care how great their makeup is, you won't make a sale off me with that attitude lol. I don't know if the Chanel staff is actually Nordstrom employees or Chanel though, but ether way they really disappointed me. It makes the other great employees look bad. read more
