Who doesn't love Nordstrom? Their amazing return policy got people coming back. Not to mention they always have a good sales. The customer service also good most of the time and not all. They do have some not as friendly employees but hey it's hard to find all good people. No one is Chick-a-fil. I love shopping online here the most that I downloaded the app. Since I don't get to try the items until they arrived, half of the time it doesn't work out so I'd have to return it at the store. The "fanciest" anchor store in Northpark. I had a hard time telling who was staff because they didn't seem to have a particular style/look and also didn't appear to have name tags. One woman came up to me and I would have assumed she was another shopper; she even had on a small crossbody purse. Odd. It all happened in the make-up department. An associate named, Maria H. - name of the person involved, according to my receipt. She was very rude and extremely unprofessional. Been shopping Nordstrom stores for decades. I have some physical limitations now. I was looking for a light pink lipstick. Naturally, you have to try a few shades before picking a winner. I tried one then removed it with a tissue so that I can try another shade. I then handed over the used tissue to "Maria H." To be clear, this is a practice that I am accustomed to, for as long as I have been shopping at all Nordstrom stores....which is decades. I had not heard of or had I been informed of any changes in policies, as it pertains to skin care buying process. But "Maria H." rudely pointed at the tissue disposal box...which was literally inches away from her, and said, "put it there." So I, with my physical limitations, had to get my ass off of the bar stool, to walk 2 steps over to the tissue disposal box (which was inches next to Maria H.) to toss my used tissue. "Maria H. was also fully aware that I was still in search of that winning shade of a pink lipstick, she turned away from me to help someone else. I did not make a fuss [then]. I just patiently waited like an abandoned puppy, while seated back again on the bar stool... after tossing my tissue in the disposal box that was literally inches away from "Maria H." To be fair, "Maria H" was not aware that I had physical limitations. Regardless, her actions were not something that Nordstrom stores are known to project. This Nordstrom store is located at the North Park Center. My husband, our little girl dog (yes all Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack locations are dog friendly) and I came by yesterday evening to do some shopping (well just mostly me to do the shopping. My husband is there to hold my bags, lol, and our little girl's leash). Nordstrom currently has their end of year clearance, with up to 50% off items throughout most departments. The last day of the sale is January 2. I love shopping at Nordstrom and this store is no exception. When I first walked in here, I headed directly to the fragrance section (1st floor). I am always looking for a new scent to add to my collection (because I like to wear a different scent every day). And so I sprayed some fragrances that I thought I would like. A few employees in this department were helpful in offering their assistance and checked in with me during my visit. They even encouraged me to take a few samples home of any of the fragrances (which is what I ended up doing for a few brands). The employees in this department were also very friendly to my little girl and seemed excited to see her walking with me. I also checked out the hand bags (also on the 1st floor and very close by the fragrance department). I did not have any employees greet me in this department, but I didn't need any assistance and I just wanted to look at and try on some of the purses. Before leaving, I lastly browsed the shoe department. I was rather disappointed that a few pairs of shoes that I was interested in trying on did not have my size (curses the size feet I have, must be so popular because my size always runs out). Overall, my visit was pleasant. Service was nice and all the employees that passed by us smiled (most likely because of my little girl). I don't know who this company thinks they are......They don't allow you to cancel an order if your order was place passed 1 hour. They go ahead and ship it even if 5 days go by after you TRIED to cancel it. Then, to top things off, when I refused the package which by law I have the right to do, they deducted a return shipping fee and the sales tax I paid from my refund. Another thing against THE LAW. I usually have a wonderful experience in the women's apparel departments, always very helpful and friendly. I have been shopping at the North Park location for years. I went in this evening (Friday) to the fine jewelry department. I was looking through the glass case at a particular pair that I had done some research on prior to coming in the store. A woman approached me and asked me if she could help me. I mentioned I was looking for earrings for my wedding and she replied, in a disgusted tone of voice, "well, those are QUITE expensive." As if I shouldn't be there. I responded that I was willing to spend a little extra for the occasion, and she responded shrewdly again - never offered to take anything out to show me. It's hard being a single guy...No unwanted trips to antique shops...no bitching for staring a little too long at that hot waitress...repeated DVR replay of mav's dancers' butts to your heart's content. But along with the perks come the pitfalls...eating alone...no one to whisper to in the middle of the night under the covers...your clothing choices are your own, for better or worse. Well, Nordstrom is the single guy's answer as far as the clothing part is concerned. Although "Rey" who helped me didn't literally have a woman's touch, he was pretty close. His service was outstanding. Patiently brought me more and more clothes to try on, and honestly said which ones looked better. All while he juggled several other customers in the men's section. I asked a question about shoes to go with something, and he walked me to the entire other side of level one to the shoe department (not his area) and gave me a quick rundown on what he would suggest. Finally, after I had dropped a little cash (Nordstrom isn't cheap but you get what you pay for), he even took a shirt I was buying and walked it to the alteration department so they could have it steamed or pressed so I didn't have to do it myself (ie take to cleaners). I didn't expect or ask for this, so it was completely icing on the cake for me. 5 stars, and by the way, there's no S at the end of Nordstrom. Most people seem to make that mistake. As far as customer service and overall quality of the store I would give this place a 5/5. Northpark for me is centrally located and not too far from our apartment. So I frequent this Nordstrom a lot. Usually make my way into a few stores into the mall but always manage to stop and look around to see what's new or how they have things styled. For me style is about how you put together an outfit not how much you pay for it! But the best kept secret in all the store is in the back of the men's shoe department! You can get an exceptional shoe shine for $2.50. They do some amazing work and your shoes come out looking like a million bucks! Don't forget to also tip the guys working there as well. They work hard at what they do and a little appreciation for them and their craft goes a long way! Nothing better than grabbing a cocktail after work and getting a shoe shine! Just call me a Nordy Girl...I love Nordstrom, specifically the one at NorthPark. First and foremost I love the Anastasia Eyebrow Counter. Kim at Anastasia has been doing my eyebrows for almost 9 years. She always does a great job and provides excellent customer service. I always wait to the last minute to book an appointment and she always manages to fit me in within a week. I get so many compliments on my eyebrows and I always feel like a million bucks after she is finished. I love shopping at almost any department here. If you are looking for special size or item just let the associate know and they will keep and eye out and call you when they get it. All the little touches Nordstrom does to make your experience the best is really worth the premium cost. For instance, if you have a crying little one take them to the third floor in the kid's shoe section. Not only can you get a balloon but they have a fish tan and coloring table to entertain the little ones. I highly recommend planning your visit to NorthPark around parking by Nordstrom. In this instance, we had a gift card and we needed to get my wife a cocktail dress... which to this day I don't understand what is and is not considered a cocktail dress. In any case, there is plenty of staff on hand. If you need anything in particular, then are pretty good at pointing you to the location where there is staff to help with selections. I approached the fine jewelry section for gold stud earrings and I found them. The woman behind the counter was handling a lot of paperwork and asked if I wanted to see something in the counter. It wasn't a very kind or warm greeting, more along the lines of so do you want to see something or not (first eyebrow raiser)!! I asked to see the studs so she pulled them out, she looked at the price and told me the price (second eyebrow raiser)!! She did not offer for me to try on the earrings nor did she talk to me about the studs like what kind of gold metal, etc., she only told me the price which I did not ask for. I responded "Ok" and she proceeded to take off the backs of the earrings for me to try on. She still didn't talk to me about the earrings - actually she never did. She pulled them out and told me the price. I had been needing new gold studs for a while now and they fit and looked great and so I bought them. However, the lady (Karen J.) needs to sit through some customer service training sessions because she doesn't realize she's in a customer service retail role for Nordstrom. It was literally the worst customer service experience I've ever had at Nordstrom and I've been shopping at Nordy for over 20 years. I hope this is not the norm for Nordstroms in Dallas. The shoe department is somewhat racist I feel. I'm sorry to be so brutally honest but it's true. I am a disabled Vet and I have PTSD, I don't like being followed and I don't like being asked if everything is ok by the same person over and over again. When I walked in the store no one, absolutely no one acknowledged me or said HELLO! Not one person asked me anything, so why all of a sudden you want to follow me around? Oh because you see an African American shopper, who has bags in her hand from other stores. Lol I am simply trying to buy shoes so pls don't assume I am the thief. I'm very alert of my surroundings due to PTSD and that freaked me out. I tried to remain calm and continue to shop. It's a good thing I need shoes for work if not I would have not bought anything due to how I felt I was being treated. Upper management team pls refrain your manager.. he tends to unknowingly follow or ask black customers over and over again.. if we are ok. We had the most excellent experience in the Men's Department with a gentleman by the name of "John Nokelberg.". This was the 5th store that we had been to this evening looking for a particular style of dress shirt and tie. John gave us AMAZING service and was very helpful in helping us find exactly what we were looking for! The service we received here was night and day difference from what we received in the men's department at Macy's on the other side of the mall. As another commenter posted in his review, I literally walked out of the Macy's men's department sorely disappointed with their lack of customer service and decided to check out Nordstrom's. Ask for John if you find yourself having to visit the men's section of Nordstrom's. Yes, you will pay a pretty penny when you shop at this place but the quality of the merchandise and the level of service is head & shoulders above what you'll find at other competitors in the mall. I hate writing negative reviews, but I had such an upsetting experience here so I wanted to share. I was at Brass Plum this past Saturday and it was fairly busy. I had a pair of pants I wanted to try on. I went into one dressing room, waited... waited... waited... no one to let me in. A girl came in behind me who also wanted in a room, she waited for a bit, got impatient and left. Finally, an employee came in who was obviously flustered and overwhelmed and rushed to give some clothes to a girl in the dressing room. I considered crawling underneath a door to let myself in, but didn't. I kept waiting and the employee never even acknowledged me, so I decided to go to the other dressing room at the other end of Brass Plum. I got to the other dressing room and waited... waited some more. No one. There was an empty and open dressing room, but I wanted to wait before just going in. There were some clothes in the room obviously from the person who had been in there earlier, but there was no name written on the door so I knew that no one was actively trying on clothes in that room. Finally, I just decided to go in and quickly try on the pants. After I had just slipped them on, I heard keys in the door and the door opened, and the dressing room attendant let herself in. Whatever, I was dressed, no big deal. But she looked at me like I was an actual cockroach and said with the most major attitude... "OH... so you just let yourself in, huh?!" She continued to glare at me as I'm sure my mouth was gaping trying to take in what was going on. She was sneering at me. She then barked at me "hand me those clothes" so I quickly handed her the clothes in stunned silence. I asked her what her name was and she kinda scoffed/laughed at me. Super condescending. It was hard to understand her name so I asked her again then asked her to spell it to me so I could make sure I got it. I'm not going to share her name because I don't want anyone getting fired, even though this girl clearly is not meeting Nordies' customer service standards. I was on the brink of tears... I had just moved here, I needed to find a pair of pants for my new job, Nordstrom is normally my happy place, the store was so busy and crowded, the employee was blatantly rude. My wife and daughters were in Dallas today and decided to go to North Park Mall. While shopping, my wife noticed the security guard right behind her. He continued to trail my wife and daughters as they tried to shop. They were very uncomfortable and shook up. Then, the tough guy calls for back up and the two men are now following my wife and daughters, aged 12 and 3. My wife went to pay...WITH HER NORDSTROM CARD, since she is a Nordstrom card holder and the security guard is standing behind the rep who is ringing them up. This is harassment to say the least. My wife finally got fed up and asked him if everything was ok, and the tough guy rolled his eyes and arrogantly walked away. Way to make your customers, let alone your Nordstrom members feel horrible and disrespected. It ruined their whole day. This will not end here. read more

I am a long term customer and cardholder. I recently ordered a package and didn't receive it. Nordstrom is refusing to reimburse me saying it is obvious the package was stolen. Contents were worth almost $500. I have no record of delivery on my doorbell camera. I have appealed this with Nordstrom and was advised to file a police report. This goes against the customer service standards I thought Nordstrom was known for. I'm so disappointed and will not shop there again. I'm cancelling my credit card. Buyer beware. I have always looked to Nordstrom as a leader in customer service. They are one of a handful of retailers whose brand consistently shines with both product and service. A company that grasps what going above and beyond means in terms of service. That being said, I am beyond disappointed that the Dallas Northpark Nordstrom store failed to take the opportunity to provide exceptional service to my son-in-law. My daughter is an attorney. She was in the Dallas area on a short business trip when she broke the heel of her Jimmy Choo pumps (purchased at Nordstrom). My son-in-law contacted the closest Nordstrom on Monday, November 8 to purchase (not return/exchange) a replacement/similar shoe for her. He spoke with both an associate and the shoe department manager and they offered ZERO assistance. When asked if shoes could be purchased for pickup either over the phone or online he was met with a no. If ordered online the item wouldn't be ready until the next day (the call was made 3 hours before closing). We all have Nordstrom accounts (for over 40 years). We all are Nordy Club members. It would have taken so little effort for Nordstrom to be the hero in this situation and live up to their legacy. Nordstrom may want to rethink the descriptor in their bio line: "A passionate drive to exceed expectations. For more than 100 years, we've worked to deliver the best possible shopping experience, helping our customers express their style--not just buy fashion." I needed a suit for an interview. I bought one on Saturday and they had it altered and ready to go for me just in time on Monday morning for the interview. I was in a sticky situation and they went out of the way to help me out (free of charge)! My grandmother returned a year old pair of shoes, an unused gift, and they gave her full price (cash) when the shoes were now marked down by over half. They gave me cash back on some gifts I had to return, no questions asked. Neiman's is overrated, and Macy's doesn't compare. Go Nordstrom! P.S. I love Nordstrom, but the customer service in the NorthPark store is seriously lacking. I've shopped here several times and most of them appear to be either too busy or too superficial, like they're too good to help "certain" people. I was just there today in the lingerie department, and a salesperson in the fitting room ignored me as I stood waiting for several minutes. I had to physically stop her as she walked by to ask for a room. As I was making my purchase, a lady cut in front of me at the register and the cashier just started talking to her and didn't say a word or look at me as she finished my transaction. I was there another time to buy shoes, and I had to walk around several times before one of the salespeople would actually assist me, and it wasn't even busy then. During the last year, my daughter and I have shopped (or tried to shop) at the Northpark store, but have found the customer service to be sorely lacking.
