Royal Cookie. The best cookie in the mall. My Top 3 cookie of all time. For this cookie you must love chocolate chips, macadamia nuts & coconut. It is soft with perfect density; not for the crispy cookie lovers. Ever since Nordstrom moved to the Ewa end of the mall the Royal Cookie has been an elusive, unattainable treat because on the rare few times I've checked it's never available. This cookie was formerly known as the Chocolate Macadamia Nut Cookie. Royal Cookie is sooo much easier to say. For this reason alone I love the name change. So like the early bird adage I decided to have breakfast after running some errands. The last time I had this cookie was at Nordstrom's old location at Marketplace Cafe. I don't think Ruscello has this on their menu either and it's so unfortunate that it's an Ebar exclusive. To go with my cookie I got a double shot Iced Macchiato which was perk me up strong. Kinda pricey but on par with other coffee joints. It could've used more ice which was easily fixable. Lots of alfresco tables and chairs in front of the coffee bar and around three or four indoor tables that's too close together for my liking. But hey at least there's air conditioning indoors. I'll return for the occasional Royal Cookie treat. I only wish it was available at all hours of operations because it is not. And this thought alone makes me a little sad. Located on the 2nd floor, Ebar has ample covered lanai seating, decent selection of pastries and remade salads. For health nuts eating clean, there are hard boiled eggs and bananas available (and pre-made salads). The pastry items also have the calorie info on the label. I love it when restaurants do that! The chocolate croissant was good and the barista recommended the banana bread (she says they normally sell out of most items). I got the cold brew - Kona Coffee which was smooth and perfectly rich. Nordstrom Ebar has always been my goto place for a nice cup of coffee or tea while shopping. Service is always wonderful. Heard this girl in front of me complaining about the price to the cashier. I'm thinking no one force you to buy it. If you're that broke, how's about making your own coffee at home. This is a very average place it's nice that they're located inside Nordstrom so when you're done with shopping you can take a rest and sit and have some coffee. The employees here are not very friendly like they're just doing a "job" no real aloha spirit to be found here. Try their LAVENDER CHAI LATTE. (I get it iced, but you can have it hot) I drive 20 minutes just for this. I usually get mine with soy milk, but they also make it with regular milk or even almond milk. Can't explain what it tastes like other than saying it tastes like Heaven. My boyfriend and nephews say it tastes like Fruity Pebbles, but I disagree. You just have to try it for yourself. I like that I can sit outside and enjoy a non-frigid air conditioned space without baristas banging espresso, tossing blenders, or using blenders period. Ever notice how hanging out in a Starbucks for an hour leaves you chilled to the bone and smelling like burnt coffee? Not so here. Plus, the food items are great: colorful salads, nice wraps, the yummy Royal Cookie...yum. It can get chilly outside if the trades are blowing hard, so bring a jacket. Oh! I'll try to keep my short, sweet, and to the point. And like my fellow yelper, Kelly T., I too will add a 5th star after trying something else whether it's another drink or food. I recently needed to venture to Ala Moana to finally exchange all of my Christmas gifts that were either too small, wrong color, too big, or just NEEDED to be returned. period. After crisscrossing the mall, I craved something cold to drink. I was tired, slightly grouchy, and the day was strangely humid. I made my way to Nordstrom in the hopes to quench my thirst. I discovered that the eBar has a lot of coffee drinks on their menu, but I truly didn't want anything with caffeine at this point. And then something caught my attention. Enter the strawberry lemonade. I wouldn't say it was thirst at first sight, but it absolutely sounded refreshing! Overall: Definitely quenched my thirst! Strawberry lemonade was just right.....in my opinion not too overly sweet. Twas just the right mix of sweet and tangy, combined with the perfect amount of strawberry to create a joy of liquid refreshment. Bottom Line: Another visit to the eBar is imminent. Conrad good looking out. The cream cheese donuts are really good. Cream cheese? Donuts? I'm there. Never had this before or even imagined it. The cream cheese is light and located inside the donut. If you like donuts you have to try one. A bit on the smaller side and listed at $1.50, it's really good. I have tried some of their more fruity drinks in the past which I thought were a bit too sweet and tart for me. The coffee stuff, I'd rather get at Coffee Bean in the food court. It's located on the second level outside Nordstrom's. They do have nice places to sit and relax down there and being that it is downstairs, it can be a bit cooler after all that walking in the sun. read more

I had the royal cookie ( i think that's the name but it's the chocolate chip with everything), Oreo smoothie and the banana hazelnut smoothie (their energy drink). When the Nordstrom Cafe line is waaaaay too long and you just want to grab a bite to eat without going all the way down to the food court, the eBar is a nice option. Today that was the case for me. I was stoked to find many healthy but tasty options, which made it hard to decide what to get! I had the BBQ chicken salad, which turned out to be really yummy for $6.95, 2 cage-free hard boiled eggs for $2.50, and a toasted spinach bagel. Perfect. Also in the fridge were a chicken caesar wrap, a chicken pasta salad, other kinds of bagels, a yogurt/strawberries/granola cup, a protein snack pack, a chicken croissant sandwich, and the normal espresso stand drinks. The tables in that mall level dining area outside Nordstrom were clean and shady. I was happy to have this spot after walking from the Hawaii Convention Center. Unlike Subway (across the street from the Convention Center) and Nordstrom Cafe, there was no line! Totally worth the walk. read more

Price: Reasonable. Prices are comparable to Starbucks and other independent coffee shops in the area. (i.e. small cappuccino is $3.66) Quality: Good. I've tried their cappuccino and iced hazelnut lattes. The espresso is strong enough and the hazelnut flavor isn't too sweet. Service: Good. Workers are always friendly and helpful with questions. I like that they give me a regular sized cup of ice water instead of pointing me over to the water dispenser with the teeny sized cups (like other coffee places do). Lots of seating (outside under the umbrellas or inside with a/c). They have outlets on the bottom of the seats along the wall and their Wi-Fi is strong. Good place to chill or study. Women's restroom is on the same floor nearby which is convenient. read more

The Ebar is easy to find, as it's on the second level (Ruscello is on the third, and the Gelato Bar is on the first/mall level), next to the Nordstrom entrance (when you enter the mall, you're immediately in the Top Shop/women's clothing section). The Ebar is located to the left in its own little section. I still remember what the former Ebar used to look like in the old Nordstrom, and this space is bigger and brighter. At least, it seems that way, especially with the outdoor seating that's readily available. There are lots of tables and chairs under the shady umbrellas - I've sat both, out here and indoors. I went here several times to use up the last of my Nordstrom Gift Card, and I was able to squeeze three small drinks out of it. The Ebar has never been crowded during any of my visits so far. Granted, I've gone pretty early (soon after opening) because I can imagine that it would be way busier when most of the mall stores are open. I really enjoy the calmness of the morning, and it was really peaceful to sip my espresso drinks and read outside before Nordstrom was even open. I haven't tried any of the desserts/snacks here yet ... but they always look delicious, especially the cookies and anything with chocolate. I'm sure my craving will kick in and I'll give in one day. Here are some of the delicious drinks I've ordered thus far: Mocha: I don't like strong coffee, and this espresso-and-chocolate blend never disappoints. This tends to be my go-to drink at any coffee spot that has it. When the weather is hot, I'll get an iced mocha, but when it's slightly cooler, I don't mind getting this hot drink. During this particular visit, I ordered it hot and with soy. The chocolate flavor was intense, making this one of my new favorites for mocha drinks. I adored the smooth, creamy texture and immediate chocolate flavor. I got this drink around the holidays and it gave the phrase "Christmas in a cup" an entirely new meaning. It was hard not to get it during my next visit, since this drink was love at first sip for me ... but ultimately, I'm glad that I've ordered something different during each trip here. Caramel Macchiato: Ah, the caramel macchiato ... aka, my go-to drink from Starbucks. I ordered this one hot and with soy as well. Although I haven't had the cold version of this drink from the Ebar yet, I rather enjoyed the roasted, slightly burnt caramel flavor. It was velvety in texture and not as sweet as the mocha, but I liked the subtly salty caramel flavor immensely. This is a great option if you don't want something super rich, chocolaty, and indulgent (as the Mocha or Black and White), but something that still leans toward the sweeter side of the spectrum. Black and White: I was hesitant to order this drink at first. Even though I like "black and white" desserts (cheesecake, cookies, ice cream, etc.) because they always seem to sport a good mix of both chocolate and vanilla, I was a little wary about this drink because it featured white chocolate. I love dark and milk chocolate, but white chocolate, not so much. The girl at the counter reassured me though I could customize my drink. But, she also reassured me that the white chocolate flavor was not super intense in this drink ... which was my main concern. I took a chance and ordered the smallest size, hot, and with soy. For my most recent order, I was glad that I decided to try something new. This hot drink was the perfect marriage of both types of chocolate. The barista was right - the white chocolate flavor was not overwhelming (as it sometimes can be in drinks and sweets). I could aptly taste the dark chocolate flavor, which I really enjoyed. Customer service was friendly, but the coffee was nothing to brag about... I bought a Frozen Mocha drink from them once before... It was not bad. I thought it was similar to starbucks... But it was pretty yummy. So when deciding on where to grab a coffee with my friend, we decided to try out the eBar. My friend had never been there before... There wasn't anyone really ahead of us, so our drinks came out relatively fast I guess? But the drinks we got didn't taste very good. Neither of us ordered anything mint... Yet both the drinks had a "mint" taste to it, as if someone before us ordered something with mint and maybe they used the same blender... There wasn't much coffee taste to it. The shorter straw they gave us, seemed like it was more made for non blended drinks (make sure to ask for or grab the bigger straw instead). It's decent if you want something convenient - it's right outside Nordstrom heading towards the mall. There are some good amount of tables and chairs around as compared to either Starbucks locations in the mall. But I think next time I would rather grab a coffee from Starbucks or Kulu Kulu in Shirokiya. They serve other drinks. I haven't tried them so I can't vouch. But maybe their other non-coffee creations are better. I haven't completely written them off my books... But I wasn't too happy with this last experience... How can I not love this place!?! They have a great tasting, smooth tasting vanilla chai tea latte - my favorite! I'm not a huge coffee drinker but I must say if I need something to pick me up I will order an ice storm (blended drink). Some have coffee, some don't, like the mint chocolate chip :) If I want coffee I have ordered the Mocha Bianco (white chocolate mocha) ice storm with toffee - now, that's delicious!! The sunburst iced tea is refreshing. I believe its raspberry and oj. As for food. I personally enjoy the chocolate banana bread and the chicken caesar wrap. Prices are average. They don't open early. The upstairs location opens an hour before the mall opens and 2nd floor opens same as the rest of the mall. Sometimes I have to find other sources of morning pick me ups. Now that I won't be working in the mall, I will miss seeing the friendly barisats! read more

I equate the quality of coffee here to that of the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf (which I do not like) as well as the quality of those fake tasting coffee drinks you get from burger king, or those god awful McCafe drinks. The staff is wonderfully friendly. They are very nice and the girl was willing to make some custom mods on my drink for me. I wish I could give more stars just for that, but my overall dissatisfaction with the taste of the coffee weighed too heavily on me. I've tasted this... weird "synthesized" coffee taste from quite a few businesses now and it's always the same. It tastes like either the coffee was made from a coffee syrup and the drink is moreso coffee-flavored rather than actual coffee... or the sweetener they use is just... horrible. One day I'm going to figure it out when I decide I want to get some plain black coffee just to taste it. Maybe I should opt to sweeten my drinks myself? Maybe the cream these places use is just odd-tasting. I like it because its always a balanced combination of sweet and sour. The ambiance is nothing to write your mom about but the seats are very nice to just sit after a hard day at work. Right now, they have the Christmas tree out so it is perfect. The customer servics here has been average the times I have been here. The speed in which the drinks are made could be faster, usually taking about 3 to 4 minutes per drink. Overall, a good place to grab a drink on break or during shopping, just don't expect quick. Me: "Umm...I thought the menu said $2.10...err...?" Staff: "No, the Kona beans are, like, double the price, so it's $4.20" Me: "Can I just have the normal beans?" Short and to the point. Ordered two Ice Storms on Tuesday (8/18) afternoon. No receipt from cashier. Didn't even ask me if I wanted one. Cashier stuck her fingers IN the cups to hand to the person making the drinks. Person making drinks made one of them wrong. Told him. I got a funny face. No apology. He corrected the drink, came back with his sour face and left it on the counter on the inside so I had to reach over to get it. Took the drinks and went over to find a table. All tables dirty and sticky. I threw my drink away. I left, not coming back again. My friend drank the other. He said it was good. Maybe it was the fingers that gave it the good taste? But not only can you use it for clothes, shoes and bags, you can use it at the eBar AND the cafe!! AH-mazing. On the the ebar itself, well, there are 2 actually, one (3rd floor) right above the other (2nd floor). My friend swears the 3rd floor one is "better"....I haven't really had great experiences at either to be honest..... I LOVE tea. I especially love flavored tea. I FINALLY FOUND IT! The e-bar has, in my opinion, the BEST cold-brew coffee that I have had in my search for cold-brew on the island. So much so, I went back before I left the mall for another cup. And I'm pretty sure I'll be back tomorrow. The e-bar that my review covers is the one located on the 3rd floor of Nordstrom near the mall entrance/exit. There is ample parking in the structure or the mall. They have their own exit/entrance from the mall and another one from Nordstrom. They sell coffee, frozen drinks, some baked goods, salads, fruit, tea, Hydro Flasks, Toddys, bottles. It's a large assortment for a small place! I come here when visiting the mall. They have an excellent chicken Caesar salad wrap that is very filling and convenient for on the go! The Ice Storm drinks they have are a tasty sweet treat on hot days. The kids usually get the mint chocolate Ice Storm & it has never failed to satisfy! My specific reason to visit on this occasion was for the cold-brew coffee. If you follow me, you will know that I've been on the hunt for a few weeks now. I just so happened to be in the mall, so I made a beeline for the e-bar. I ordered an enorme (the biggest they got). As the kids were still deciding on what they wanted, I chatted with the barista. I told him about my search for cold-brew and asked him to tell me about the Toddy system that was displayed. He gave me info on it and told me that it was a great seller. Unfortunately, they were currently sold out. He offered to check with the lower level e-bar to see if the had any. What service! The Nordstrom eBar is located outside the second floor mall entrance to the department store. The coffee shops have strategically placed themselves throughout the mall to actually avoid competition amongst each other! + One star for including calories for each drink on their menu. I love the transperancy that originates from businesses. However, when I'm looking for more tea than coffee, I feel that the eBar falls short. - One star for their green tea drink. This might taste exactly how it's designed to be, but I found it similar to drinking fruit punch. There was zero semblance of green tea present in this beverage. I did not have to worry about using those 100 calories since I did not imbibe close to 10 calories in that drink. I am very frustrated by the amount of "tropical" versions of iced tea. Most people I have spoken too do not enjoy tropical tea when they are craving iced tea. They are craving the original thing. My advice to the corporation is to include more traditional drinks than just the fruity mixes of what used to be a caffeinated beverage. read more

The Nordstrom eBar on the 3rd floor at the new Ala Moana is becoming my new cafe spot to go. I've been there twice so far. Their outdoor seating is huge and stays cool underneath the umbrella on a very hot sunny day. I like that it's tucked away in the corner of the mall where it's roomy and quiet. I got iced americano the first day. It's pretty strong but it's good. And today, my second day, I got Cold Brew. Since the cold brew is smoother and not as strong tasting, I think I would get cold brew next time. But my "very opinionated" mom loves the hot americano. She's been ordering it every time she's been goes there since she likes that it's strong. They also have good to go food too. I ordered their protein meal which included a hard boiled egg, almonds, peanut butter dip, apricots, cheese and crackers and celery. It got me pretty full. I used to be a die-hard starbucks fan and refused to get coffee anywhere else. However, I tried eBar's iced coffee and fell in love immediately! The starbucks iced coffee is too strong for me and I usually have to water it down a little or add a lot of milk. However, I found that I was able to drink this coffee straight. Woohoo! I know there are some folks who really like strong coffee and are particular about the taste. Dashed in2 A. Taylor b4 dinner 2 pick up a dress & sweater I previously considered. On my way out was cravin a salad but pressed 4 time & decided 2 stop in & check. I was pleasantly surprised 2 find a variety of salads, sandwiches & yogurt options. Picked up the chicken penne pasta with sun dried tomatoes & feta which totally satisfied!!! read more

As a promise to be a better yelper, I dedicated this weekend to Yelp and made it another mission of mine to write more reviews. Today, I decided to make it a coffee day...giving several places I've only been to once (or twice) before a second (or third) opinion. I've been to eBar twice before today. Both previous visits I had one of their smoothie drinks. At this point, it's been so long & I can't recall which ones I had. That being said, I do recall them being really good. As for this recent visit, I had an iced latte. All I'm going to say is...I've had wayyy better. Ok, I was actually kinda disappointed. I'm not sure what it was, but there was something quite unpleasant about the latte I had today. #Honest. But, who knows maybe my taste buds were just having a bad day. I have to say though, the guy working the counter...he was really nice. His customer service makes up for my disappointing latte, & I forgive them. It definitely goes to show you...great customer service can go a long way! ... & possibly get you a 4th star. read more

I had a hot chai. I felt "meh" about it. Hence the coincident "Meh. I've experienced better" two-star rating. I guess this place is like Starbucks--you might as well if you're already there and too lazy to go anywhere else. Otherwise, maybe you should go somewhere else. read more
