This store is pretty huge, so one can easily spend a couple hours there and not notice. I somehow had great timing with their women's athletic department and was ecstatic to find a particular outfit I was looking for in my size and everything. The shoe department is a little out of control, with shoes all over the floor, and shoes in the wrong place. There was only one woman working at the shoe matching counter and there was a very long line of people. So she decided to take around 20+ pairs of shoes from all different customers and find them all at the same time. As expected, the wait was ridiculously long. I seriously thought about leaving several times, but I really liked the shoes I found. I put my shopping bag down, trying to lighten my load since I had to wait so long for my one shoe. Eventually she emerged from the back room, and I was off to purchase my items. I stood in another ridiculously long line to check out, but eventually I made my purchases and was on my way. While waiting in line, I noticed a young lost boy who had made his way to the front counters, and one of the workers paged the mom and then walked the boy around the store to try and find her. I later found out the mom was apparently caught up in the shoe department and didn't notice her son was missing. When I returned back to my hotel, I realized I left my shopping bag in the shoe department of this store. I called the store even though they had just closed, and the woman on the phone said she didn't recall anything turned in that evening. I left a description and my phone number anyway. A couple hours after they opened the next day, I was pleasantly surprised to get a call explaining that a bag matching the description I gave was turned in. I rushed over and was reunited with my lost bag. My faith in people was restored, and all was well. It took me a long time to find my sister's gift that was in that bag, so this meant a lot to me. I truly appreciated the time and assistance that the staff spent calling me back and then returning my items to me. The line may be long, but the workers at the front of the store are patient and don't try to rush through customers as fast as possible... this level of service goes a long way. read more

This NR has great deals and a lot of inventory. However, their customer service is awful. I was shopping in the hand bag area and there were 3 employees standing near by. They were talking rather loud about another associate. One girl stated to her manager that she should put the associate in the jewelry area "in check because she was being a bit**." The managed replied and said "I will because I don't know who she thinks she is she is not a manager like me. She's become a real bit*h." I couldn't believe that a manager was talking to another associate right there on the floor in such bad taste. I wish I had looked at their name tags to add to this review or write corporate. When I was checking out I had a Hautelook return that I wanted to apply the credit for to my new purchases. The associate at the counter said that she couldn't return the item for store credit that it would go back on my card. I have never had this issue at any Nordstrom or NR. The woman had such a poor attitude. I insisted that she just apply the refunded amount to my purchase. After talking with her for 20 minutes and holding up the line she did it. Was it so hard to do in the first place? Sad that such a great store has such low customer service. They all need to work on their attitudes, learn not to talk about other employees behind their backs and not discuss issues on the floor. I'm giving this place a 1 star for their lack of customer focus and rude mannerism. read more

This place is huge and probably the most clothing of the Racks I've been to. Because it was "Clear the Racks" day, it was especially crowded. However, the selection of clothing was not as good as the Hastings Ranch location, and appeared to be more of a thrift store than bargains on Nordstrom quality clothing. Now mind you, I'm speaking from a men's clothing standpoint, and found there is much more women's clothing available for purchase. If you don't like crowds, this is not the place to be, although it seems the density is because there is not another Rack for several miles. Bought a pair of Citizens of Humanity jeans for only $45.00 regular price $158! Score! This rack has a good selection, probably because their merchandise comes out of the South Coast Nordstrom. You do have to have patience to look here since things are in a disarray. They have a good selection of higher end goods from brands including Versace, D & G, and others. The check out line isn't fun since it's usually long, but really most Nordstrom Racks have a long line anyway. read more

Nordstrom Rack is the bomb skillet biscuit. Seriously, designer everything at a discounted price? Talk about a girl's dream come true... ESPECIALLY during the holidays! I did a lot of holiday shopping for friends and family at Nordstrom Rack and spent probably quarter of what I would've spent if I bought the same/similar items at the regular department store. The only downside to purchasing gifts from NR is that they don't have gift boxes, but that's when Target's $3 pack of gift boxes come into play. NR usually has really long lines at the register and it takes forever to check out. Now they have a new system where you can approach any employee and they can ring you up with a credit/debit card at one of the many stations placed around the store, instantly. This is probably the reason why I love shopping here because its so quick and easy. Not only do they have a huge shoe section here... but they have a DESIGNER shoe section! Cue the hallelujah chorus, much? I've come up on Tory Burch sandals here, as well as some Cole Haan shoes that are to die for. I bought my niece a Juicy Couture velour track suit for like $60. I could've believe it. Also! Hautelook.com (a Nordstrom company) is now paired with NR! You can make (certain) returns to participating NRs to avoid having to return it through mail yourself. I got lost for hours in the shoe section. The gay boyfriend had to call me from the jeans section to find me because we were doing our own thing. Eventually he bought a pair of jeans and I got a top. There were too many shoes and I was overwhelmed. I do like that the shoes are all out so you don't need to ask for anyone to get the shoes for you. Mmm, shoes. Oh, but I don't know how the store normally is when it's not a massive sale. There was crap all over the place but considering I've been to a few Nordstrom Racks now, I think this is comparable to all of them. I was in a pinch and needed nice clothing fast. I went to this location at about 10:55 am. There was a crowd outside, along with a sign that they were taking inventory and would open at 11. No big deal for me, so I went to the DSW for a few moments. I came back out a little past 11, and there was a manager poking her head out of the door, apologizing and saying that the store wouldn't open until 12pm. I've never seen another business delay opening by two hours for inventory, so I think it's a bad business practice. I left and took my business with me. read more

I like Nordstrom Rack really for one reason; they have shoes in my size! Sure they have clothes too and I've come out of their with a few shirts, pants, maybe shorts. However I dig the shoes. I don't have an unheard of size and you'll find 13's most places, problem is your selection sucks. But here you'll have racks and racks of size 13's with tons of selection and a damn good price too! The kicker is you better get a lot of pairs or REALLY want the one you find because the lines are long and take a while. read more

I came in to make a Hautelook return. I asked the clerk (rng emp 9186552)if I could get it back on a gift card because they do not do exchanges from Hautelook, and I was going to buy something. She originally said YES. Then she proceeded to return it to my original form of payment (debit card)which is exactly what I did not want to happen (since that card was compromised). Now I have to wait even longer to buy the item I want. Looks like I won't be coming here to this location for a while. Tip: Make sure your employees aren't just hitting buttons to get through transactions, make sure they HEAR the customer. You're a part of Nordstrom Company... I expect more. read more

I tried to return a pair of sunglasses that I purchased just two weeks ago, but decided I didn't like them that much. Of course I wore them to see if I would like them, and of course I took off the tag first. I had to go through 2 managers and then finally the store manager to be able to return them. Apparently, you can't return anything at the Rack if the tag has been removed. The manager rudely said that I should keep my receipt so that I can read the back of it where this "policy" is stated. This is probably one of my favorite locations, next to the one in Brea. Their shoe section is AMAZING--especially the designer shoe selections. I went here today and for a Sunday afternoon it was not crowded at all. The line was not halfway through the store, which was a good thing. They have a huge selection of everything from designer jeans, to dresses, workout attire, accessories etc.--it's hard to walk out of here empty handed. You're bound to come across something that is a treasure. It might not be your size but you immediately scan your list of friends to figure out who it would fit, so someone else won't get their hands on it. This is what happened to me today--thank god for cameras phones and email access on cell phones. I was able to snag some treasures for one of my friends who was dying because she couldn't make it before closing. One drawback--all their designer clothes are a final sale which is a good thing so people don't return clothes they've worn, but sucks if your shopping for a friend. If all else fails and you don't find anything to buy at all--they have the best shower loofahs in the front of the store--and they're only $2.97! read more

I like nice things. But my relative lack of regard or concern for them means that when I ruin, say, a gorgeous pair of Prada silk pants by wearing them in the rain (check), or break the heel off a pair of Louboutins when they catch in a NY subway grate (no, seriously, I did it), and I've paid full price, it not only makes me sad, it makes me angry. At myself. I'm just not careful. Sigh. So, Nordstrom Rack, although it kills me at times with its disorganization and flea market-esque chaos, is usually a good bet for me. Recent visits have scored a killer Chloe top, coupla pairs of new jeans that would have set me back $250 alone, a fabulous cashmere sweater, and a fantastic pair of Jimmy Choos for (are you ready for this? I wasn't): $60. You can't beat that. Even if it does require a Valium before you enter. By augmenting my full-price purchases with a couple of Rack finds, I stay in balance. Still a mess, still annoyed when I cause bad things to happen to my pretty, sparkly things, but overall, happy. read more

I do find deals in the clothing, but they're fewer and far between...you may still pay $30-40 for a good shirt here. Plus, there's a lot of crappy designer stuff to weed through that didn't fly off the shelves as they expected. Sorry, I haven't really been searching for a puffy-sleeved orange pirate shirt with a fur collar, but thanks anyway. I try to buy as much as I can without trying on, because there's invariably a long line for a fitting rooms, but usually it doesn't take too long even if there's a line. Just remember to keep your claws out - you're fighting a lot of pseudo-Orange County bitches for these deals. They think they're all that and will try to push you aside for that Tahari dress at 40% off. Stand your ground. You're a YELPER, for Christ's sake. I know you know what's up. And if you can, don't go on the weekends, unless you go right when they open. By noon, it's double-claw time. read more

Note that this review is based strictly on the designer duds and shoes sections. And also note that before you drive the 40+ miles it may take you to make it down to this specific location, it can definitely be a HUGE hit or a complete miss for me, mainly based on what kind of sale is going on (i.e. crazy shoe sales where you get an extra 65% off the already marked down price). I've always shopped Nordstrom Rack and in the past have always found great deals here. However, since I started losing weight 2 years ago, I stopped coming, and just waited for my weight to stabilze. Now that I've lost 54 pounds, and am looking forward to new clothes ... came here today and the quality of the clothes have really gone down, lots of clothes were microfiber or polyester blends, and 100% cotton clothes were few and far between. My skin reacts to manmade fibers, so I guess I'm hosed. I've always liked the shoes, so I started looking. The shoes, even at clearance, were not as good price as before. I finally found1 pair of sandals that fit me, and the other half had a decoration that partly fell off. When I went to pay, I asked if there was a discount because this was the last pair, and the decoration came apart. Nope! They now consider the Rack as discount, and the price is final. Well... I guess I won't come around as much anymore. There are plenty of places that offer the same merchandise at a better price. It was supercrazy on a Saturday afternoon. As you get older, you either become a smarter shopper or straight up CHEAP. I wouldn't consider myself the latter but either way Nordstrom Rack hits the spot when I am in a shopping mood. This is my favorite out of all the Nordstrom Racks. They have an excellent selection of Men's shoes in this location. I primarily shop for work clothes and gym clothes at the Rack and this location never disappoints me. Considering all the traffic it gets, their men's section seems to be in order especially the ties and dress shirts. This place also puts a smile on the GF. This particular location has a special section up front that sells high end clothing which she seems to gravitate to. Typically brands other Nordstrom Racks do not carry. From time to time she finds that dime a dozen deal. I am an avid online shopper (ebay, amazon, zappos, etc) but I make an exception for Nordstrom Rack. Where else can I walk out with a Hugo Boss tie, NB running shoes, Ecco loafers, and socks for under $150? read more

By far my favorite Rack, this place almost never disappoints. Yes, the lines can be tremendously long, but this is the place where I can find St. Johns (not that I am old enough to wear it yet) or any other very high end designer names at some ridiculously low price... I once saw a silk wrap of a brand I don't know of that retailed for $2,000 here for $99. I think because of the location of this Rack the items seem to be more upscale. My friends always rave about the magnificent designer deals they find at nordstrom rack. I've been to a number of NRs before but I absolutely hate the chaos. Recently I ventured in here after going to off 5th and lo and hold I saw a plum herve leger dress for $200. It took almost all my willpower to walk away since I didn't have an occasion to wear it anytime soon. But what a freaking deal. The shoe section seemed like there would be some deals on mid level shoes like Kate spade, coach, or mk, but the number of women trying on shoes was just nuts. read more

This place can be summed up in one word- insane. Insane crowds, somewhat-insane prices, and insane space. Anyways, enough with the crazy talk. I spent around two hours in here, and ended up not getting anything because the line was too long. Some of the discounts were really great, some not so much, but if you have the paitence and the time to wander and flip through racks (while expierenced shoppers are scoping around, trying to get those cheap jeans before you), then this place is great because you can find stuff 50-80 % off what you might have paid in the department stores...... I think I went at a really bad time, because there seemed to be some major sale going on (lots of clearance signs), I just wonder if things are always so crazy on non-sale days. Found some makeup, and I will go back there sometime during the week to get it....the mascara there that normally's $45, was only $7, they also had tons and tons and tons of shoes. I found the perfect pair of black pumps, and if only they had my size...... In the future, I'm planning to stay away from there on sale days. read more

Other than the change room lines which get long after 11 am, this NR is awesome. Joie, J brand, and all of the cool designer "J" names are here and for about 1/3 of the price found in other stores. I just wish I could have snuck in my second OP, but he was forced to wait with all of the other sorry males. More than likely, they felt sorry for him when I made him fetch different sizes for me. The selection is not quite as good as in Florida, but this store is slightly more organized and a close second. It is infinitely more better than NR in Seattle. I was disappointed not to find any Kate Spade shoes, and the shoe selection wasn't quite as good as Florida either, but the shopping is always better the further South East you travel. it was just as well for both my wallet and my suitcase. If you keep your receipt, you will have no problem with returns that are legit, either, which is so refreshing after trying to return anything in Fort Knox "Commuda". BEST BEST BEST Nordstrom Rack around.......drove from long beach just to visit this location and it was well worth it!!!!! Found a Vince Camuto handbag in a lovely color for only $179.....and they had my fav lip glosses by Philosophy in Strawberry italian Soda and Wildberry!!!! Well stocked, organized, they even had Khiels lotions/creams. I was in heaven. I purposely went looking for a MK bag but found a wonderful soft leather bag that I truly adore....... The line was very long, but it only took 3 minutes before I was at the cash wrap paying and out the door. I wish I had more time to look through the shoe selection, but I'll be back. read more

I rarely come to this location just because I hate dealing with the parking here but this is probably one of the better stores by far. Currently they are remodeling and expanding so get ready for a whole new department of shoes. No more shoe matching at the window! What I like about this store is that it's larger than others and they carry way more product. Way better Men's selection than the one in Orange! Tips: Don't come here on weekends if you want to avoid crowds, long dressing room lines and getting rammed with a shopping cart. Try to find a sales associate when you are ready to pay to check out at one of the kiosks. That way you can avoid long lines if there are any. read more

I've been shopping here for 12 years and I've never been so disgusted by the customer service I received today. I literally just walked out of the store. I had a total of 4 items in my hand that I was going to purchase and walked out not purchasing anything because I was so upset. Liz, an older women in the jewelry department was so rude an made my entire shopping experience so bad. I was looking at some jewelry in a box that was left out and she rudely ripped the box out of my hand claiming that the items weren't price. Which is totally fine but there was no need for her to rip the items of out my hand. I was so upset that I simply dropped the items I was going to purchase and walked out. read more

I don't normally shop at Nordstrom Rack, but I had to write about a recent experience I had. I decided to give the store a try and bought an item. I completely forgot about the item and found it with the receipt three months later. Seeing how I didn't use the item and obviously didn't need it, I decided to return it. I was sad to see that the back of the receipt noted that returns would only be accepted 30 days after the date of purchase, but I decided to try my luck out anyway. Even though three months had lapsed, they took the item back and refunded my money without any hesitation. How great is that! read more

I have shopped at this Rack for years and they have always been so accommodating. However, today the Nordstrom customer service that I have always known and loved was seriously lacking when they wouldn't take back sunglasses in perfect condition with the tags on them and receipt in hand due to being past the return policy. They still have the sunglasses in the store and being a regular customer I asked if they could make an exception this time and they wouldn't accommodate me at all. What a waste! I know I lost track of time but I have never had Nordstrom decline a return in perfect condition especially if it was still in the store!! I don't really buy much here, but they have a decent supply of odds and ends. Socks and underwear can be affordable, and I also have found some great pants here including a lot of stuff from Rag and Bone, which is extremely hard to find and VERY expensive new (I got a pair of pants for $28 the other day). I also love the shoe selection because they carry a lot of really decent brands like Allen Edmonds, Magnanni, Red Wing, Frye (mostly the Mexican and Cinese ones, but a few of the original domestic ones, too), and even the lone Birkenstock. Prices are all over the map, and while I'd love to get a pair of Allen Edmonds for $160, I probably wouldn't pay the $200 that they are sometimes marked at-- that said, it's not as though Nordstrom Rack is all "discount" or "clearance" stuff. I give a fourth star because I generally just like wandering around the store, even on Saturdays when half of Europe is in here, elbowing past you to get to their pair of $300 made-in-China Uggz-- it's fairly well-organized and the staff are friendly and helpful. read more

Their Kate Spade table always has me tempted and drooling. Lines can be long for dressing rooms and check out. Avoid peak hours and not so bad! Now they've lost a loyal customer who would spend hundreds of dollars a year, over a $45 pair of shoes. That doesn't seem like proper business sense. I went to return a couple of shirts with my receipt & since the 60 days had already expired, they wouldn't even give me store credit or work with me. I have always loved the Nordstrom brand because of their return policy - I can always shop confidently. I spend more than you want to know at Nordstrom & Nord Rack each month. This is the part that was most frustrating. The store manager was very cold towards me - I was shocked that store credit wasn't even an option. They've lost me as a customer. What a shame. read more

I do not like stepping into a world of chaos...for this reason, I do not like you Nordstrom Rack!! First of all, I'm a bargain hunter. For most things, I always try to find a sale or a deal on it before I buy...especially when it comes to clothes, shoes, purses, etc. I know that people like to shop here because they have bargains but to be perfectly honest, most items do not seem like a great bargain. A lot of the items look like serious rejects so they made it here since no one in their right mind would buy them at a Nordstrom's. That's fine but when I look at the price for these things, it's still expensive! I tried looking at the clothes...found a rack labeled dresses L-XL. Every dress I thought looked decent was a size small. ugh. I don't like it when things are clearly labeled and end up on the wrong rack - it makes searching for a good item so frustrating. The women's clothing section is a nightmare. The shoe section is horrendous...thousands of shoes and not a single decent pair! I honestly don't know how everyone is finding such great deals here...I look and end up walking out angry for wasting my time. If there is a bright side to it, I think the men's section is a lot better. It's probably because there's less junk and it's clearly divided into suits/formal and informal. Usually when I go shopping with the bf, he gets bored and ends up sitting outside the store waiting for me.
