I'm going to give this Rack the benefit of the doubt, since when I went, it looked like it was going through some major renovations. So, I'm giving it a generous 3 stars instead of 2. I felt like I was in a disaster shelter. It was a little crowded, concrete floors and the racks were just in a disarray. And maybe they stopped paying the A/C bill because it was hotter than Hell in there. From what my eyes could take in, the selection was definitely worthy of being in a Ross, Marshalls or TJ Maxx... definitely the bottom of the clothing chain barrel. I would give this Nordstrom Rack no stars if I could. I have a Nordstrom gift card that I've had since Christmas, so I thought I would go to this particular store because it is down the street from where I work. First of all, the store was disorganized, with piles of clothes everywhere. The handbag section was a mess! I felt as though I was in a thrift store. I felt very uncomfortable shopping here. The associates only seem to only cater to the Armenian and Chinese customers and if you are anything other than those two races, they have loss prevention following you around the store. Myself and another girl were being "watched". I ended up leaving. As I'm going down the escalator, loss prevention runs out and asks me "are you going to buy anything?" to which I replied, "No, I was just browsing." Then she stands at the top of the escalator, watching me go all the way down. It was a horrible experience and I will NEVER EVER walk into this store again! read more

The WORST Nordstrom Rack in existnace. For a chain that normally has an good selection of decent designers, this particular store is stocked full of tasteless garbage. The young staff's incompetence is exceeded only by their rudeness. This is not true of the minority of older people working there, for whom I feel quite bad. The "customer service manager" should be nominated for America's most ironically titled retail employee. I hope the store closes soon. FO&D For those interested in the boring details: The store is disorganized, cramped and ill-managed. Attendants are constantly chasing each other down on their walkie-talkies for a coveted "mobile" - an iPhone contraption with which they do their checkout now, presumably for efficiency. These Apple-inspired aspirations for a modern a modern retail environment were cut short, as the Rack would only splurge for about two devices for the whole floor. Another cost-cutting measure is false advertising - good for getting people to the store, at which point there's really no need to follow through with those costly promotions, now is there? The store advertised a $15 gift card per $100 purchase per customer. At check out, however, we were only afforded one card per 4 customers, as we made the rookie mistake of letting it be known that we came together. Needless to say, when we attempted to actually use our $15 prize, they chuckled at our naiveté - "the cards will not be accepted by the system until the next business day, but do come back and visit us!" Later on, when my wallet and iPhone were pick pocketed in that god awful place, the "customer service manager" couldn't wait to get rid of us, promising to review the security tapes first things tomorrow morning. We provided an exact time and location within the store of the incident. Of course, when we called the next day it was obvious that no one had even heard of the incident, let alone reviewed any security footage. read more

I've gone to stores where you can totally tell the employee doesn't want to be there and they offer assistance to you but with an attitude.. Well this isn't the case here. I've never been big on Nordstrom Rack, just because the prices are pretty high. I always assumed this kind of place to be somewhat like a Nordstrom outlet...but nope, the clothes are older, wore-looking and expensive. This one in-particular is just a complete mess. So disappointed in this location! Stood in line for at least 30 minutes to return a pair of shoes-ridiculous! 2 people were on the register with at least 20 people waiting in line. An employee asked if there was anyone paying with credit cards so those customers could be served elsewhere. Instead of asking the same people the same question, open 2 damn registers. Great store! plenty of nice stuff (not always sometimes) So I check it every 2 weeks. they have the best sunglasses section. Last sunday I got Alexander McQueen sunglasses for 100!!! I was so happy. I found another by Fendy too but I didnt buy them. Finally become greedy. SO they are still there and they are gorgeous specially from the side. Sometimes they have nice shoes by feraggamo. His, we found had a tear right up get he front by the buttons. Unwearable. Mine, he put in the steam tumble. I come here mainly for clothing. I look high and low but never find any shoes for this Cinderella's big feet =(. If I find one item that brings magical happiness, then I consider it worth my 30 minute drive (plus up to an hour 20 back in traffic). Sometimes I've scoured this place top to bottom and leave empty handed but it still leaves me looking foward to my next hit. The only drag about this place is having to make a return. It can take up to 10 minutes. Nothing to make one feel more like a criminal than a middle-aged cashier lowering her glasses, giving an extremely thorough looking over of the item about to be returned, then some calls to a sales associate to run and check the floor against like items, then hithering back with a few more glances here and there before the final nod of approval. read more

When I previously shopped here, the store's setup was a complete mess. It was not presentable and just seemed to be overflowing with clothes, shoes, and accessories. However, it was very clean today. Everything was where it belonged, even the shoes were in the right places according to their sizes. I loved the fact that they even had a few options of the Nike shoes I wanted. I went to a Nike outlet store yesterday an they didn't seem to carry comfort liner tennis shoes but this Nordstrom rack did. I've been searching for a while for extremely soft soles in Nike shoes and I was overjoyed when I found them. They also came in a cool gray instead of only being available in ugly drab options. I am in love with these shoes because they can be used all day without feeling tired in your feet. My sister even purchased a few pretty dresses that she can wear out casually or to dress up for dinner. She bought black stylish Nike high tops as well, she can easily pair it with her new dresses and pull off the hipster or skater chick look. The only thing I hated was the foot traffic, but when we went to make our purchases there was practically no line. read more

This Nordstrom Rack is often a mess, cluttered, and filled with overstuffed clothes racks but take your time, make a couple of rounds and you will most definitely find something. LEAVE NO RACK UNTURNED-Even the ones you wouldn't typically look through because stuff is misplaced all the time. Best selection of bras and undies of the three Racks (i.e. Pasadena, Howard Hughes) I've been to by far! Yes, they're all smashed together on the clothes rack but they almost always have a great selection of Betsey Johnson, Calvin Klein, and Natori. (Yes, I heart undergarments.) read more

I have never had interaction with any staff member besides the short-lived check out, so I don't know about the service here. What I do know is that I hardly ever walk out empty handed. There are lots of benefits to shopping here over the full price Nordy's, like the very same underoos by Honeydew for half the price, lots and lots of handbags, sometimes thrown carelessly into a bin. Shoes in line after line. The bummer is that you have to take your one shoe to one guy that runs the whole shoe department, and he scurries away into what I imagine as a fallout shelter of shoes in the back, and eventually, should he dig himself out of all the supplies, he returns with (hopefully) the left shoe to your right. The best piece in the whole house may be lying on the floor under the racks. It's a discount store, and it's messy (usually) but there are niiice things to be had. read more

This is by far my favorite Nordstrom Rack store. I'm sad that I no longer live in Glendale as I would shop here at least once every 2 months and rarely leave without spending at least $100. I was always excited to find high end brands for relatively low prices and the clothes weren't damaged or out of style. My only problem was that I wear an x-small so I really had to search for clothes that would fit me. Other than that, they also sold their own brand of clothes and if I liked something I would typically buy it in at least 2 or 3 different colors because I knew it likely would not be there the next time I went shopping. read more

Call me crazy but in course of me living in Glendale for 5 years and a few blocks away from this place I went here for the very first time yesterday.. I always been a TJ Maxx girl. So I went in to get party hose since looks like TJ only carries tights.. Well.. Store isn't huge but it's not claustrophobicly small either. Tons of brands.. And unorganized racks.. They are packed so tightly that you can't look at stuff while it's hanging. A lot of the racks had mixes sizes too... Shoes have missing pairs.. And the wristlets are the same price as at Macys.. I picked up a designer tie for hubby for a great price and a few nyx stuff along with my nordstrom branded pantyhose lol. I could be back if they mage this store more organized and appealing. WAY better than the one over by the Beverly Center because there's a kids section AND you can occasionally find high designer items at these locations. I checked out with a different card and asked to speak with a manager. She informed me I couldn't return more than 80% of the purchase. This place is the capital of Betsey Johnson bags at amazing prices! They have larger sized shoes for ladies, which is also awesome. Their plus sized clothing leaves something to be desired, but oh well, you can't have it all. Parking can be a bitch, so use my little secret and park downstairs. The Nordstrom Rack at Glendale has some of the worst customer service I've ever experienced, especially for a store with Nordstrom in the name. The "Customer Service" cashier area is ironically the least friendly. I had a return that was a little past 30 days and instead of politely explaining their policy, the employee abruptly ripped off a piece of a receipt, turned it over, and showed a faint return policy to me. I happen to know that Nordstrom prides themself on having no return policy. I understand it is the rack, but I haven't had any trouble in the past, especially since I had my original receipt. This wasn't my first bad experience at this location, just the final straw. It seems like the employees at this location have become out of touch with their people skills and customer service. read more
