I love Nordstrom Rack. I love Nordstrom, but I love Nordstrom Rack more. I used to work right around the corner and spent many lunches here. They have a ton of stuff, though, and I often found myself returning after work to finish my shopping. I could spend an hour alone just searching through the shoes. Some of my best deals have been here. $320 BCBG Max Azria purse for $70. $100 Michael Kor sunglasses $30. $280 Cole Haan bag for $80. Joe's Jeans $80. Seven Jeans $40-$100. Semantiks suits $50. Amazing necklace originally $80 for $20. I could go on and on. They don't carry the (very) high-end stuff like the Nordstrom Rack on State St. downtown, but considering those discounted prices average about $400 for a shirt, it's probably for the best. It requires time and patience, but you can count on much nicer clothes here than TJ Maxx or Marshalls and won't have to search AS much to find them. You'll also do without the dustbunnies in the fitting rooms and masses of trash who belong on Jerry Springer. I miss my Nordstrom Rack. read more

As far as Men's shoes I always hit this Rack because their selection is pretty good and prices are great. . As far as everything else, it's fine but knocking $10-15 off a pair of $200 jeans isn't exactly a deal imo. But every once in while you can find a deal. The staff here is really nice and helpful. I love that now you don't have to wait in line to check out. I mostly come here to buy clothes for my little girls so occasionally you can strike a great deal on last season's Mini Boden or Burberry. I've tried shopping here for myself but it's just too much. There is too much junk to search for the potential ONE thing you might actually like and that might actually fit. If you shop at the actual Nordstrom you immediately notice that they've only put all the junk at the Nordstrom Rack location. Sometimes I look at an item and immediately notice that it's not even a brand that Nordstrom carries. Again, it's in the same plaza as TJ Maxx so it's quite trashy and ghetto. Surprisingly but yes. For the location, I'd expect more. But if you're into shopping to some terrible and inappropriate hip hop music and go through overcrowded racks that are full of junk, shop away. read more

If you have the time to search the overfilled racks in the overcrowded store, then you will probably find a few great buys... Normally there will be people everywhere, practically pushing over you to find something, anything, before you. Once, I took about 30 things to the dressing room and came out with not a single one. My husband gets his lucky brand jeans here for about 50% off. We have even found him a great Hugo Boss suit for under $500. A huge plus - there is a tailor on site! I love checking out the purses, you can normally find one or two at a really good discount. Plus, there designer hangers are amazing! I am pretty sure that I have replaced my whole closet with them. Your basic RACK, no frills or anything special. It was my first visit to this location as I normally go to the one Downtown on Michigan Avenue. I came here to find a new suit for an upcoming interview, they had a much smaller selection than the downtown location, but good suits as usual. Extra kudos to the staff in the tailoring & fitting rooms, they were helpful assisting me in finding the right size and fit. Plenty of parking outside in the lot and no wait for cashiers inside make it a good spot to go during your lunch break or really quick after work if you are in a rush. read more

My closet would be next to nothing without this store! It's the best Nords Rack around. The shoe selection here feels picked over but the clothing selection is amazing. Solid jewelry section. Ok bag section. They have tons of drool worthy brands like Tory Burch, Vince, BCBG Max Azria, Theory, Joie, Kate Spade, Burberry -they have it all! Be warned though: the ppl who shop here are not afraid of buying so if you see it you can't just leave it and come back... It can get pretty picked over too after the holidays. read more

Great products at great prices! I headed here to use my Groupon and was sad that I didn't have more cash for shopping. I found plenty of great items that I could have purchased for gifts for me! I had hoped to find some dress shirts for work for my hubby. He likes button down collars which I know aren't the big style, and I was disappointed that they had very few of these available. I only found some white ones and not in his size. The shoes there are very nice. I was drooling over a pair of Joan and David's, but just couldn't spend the money even though they were severely discounted. I guess that's what being a Mom at Christmas means. My biggest complaint about this place (besides the road construction), is those damn shopping carts. I was rammed a few times by them and they are a nightmare in the shoe aisle. The checkout area here is pretty small. Maximum of 8 cashiers and there were only 4 working today. They were pushing their credit card, so that really slowed things down. read more

Over the years, I've managed to find items including a formal dress for a wedding, a bustier for a chic evening out, gel-padded bicycling pants for the 25-mile L.A.T.E. Ride, and countless fashionable casual wear outfits. I've even managed to find a Soia & Kyo wool winter coat at a fraction of its original retail price. Cool dealio! The Oak Brook Nordstrom Rack is in an awesome location: free parking, walking distance to DSW to find shoes to compliment your new outfit, and it's across the street from Red Mango to score a generous portion of frozen yogurt after a long day of shopping. I'd recommend making a day of hanging out at Oak Brook without necessarily spending time at the mall. read more

This is the best location of all the ones I've visited so far, both in Chicagoland and SF Bay Area. First one I've seen that has both shoes in the box so there's no more waiting in line to get that damned left shoe. The selection here is much better than the Schaumburg location, cleaner and better organized, not so cluttered and scattered, but Schaumburg seems to have deeper and faster price cuts. Both locations have very friendly cashiers. This is my go-to place for indulging a little of the brand-name bragging while paying half-price for it. You do have to spend some time and do a lot of hunting, and most of it is late in the fashion cycle, but if you get classic pieces you can wear them well into the next several seasons. Sometimes I walk out of there with nothing, sometimes piled high - a lot of the items are the last ones left, so if you like it and it's lucky enough that it's in your size, get it! Didn't take my own advice last time - I saw a beautiful pair of Weitzman tall black boots that I wasn't sure of, put it down, came back two hours later, and they were gone! I have never been to this store but I just experienced horrible customer service assistance over the phone. I purchased a dress from a different store, but preferred to find a size larger. I have been calling every store that is open to check and I happened to call this store. The answer that I received was sorry cant help you, you need to come in and look for it yourself. I stated that so far other stores have advised me what sizes are available after checking and lady on the phone said we are a busy store and can't check for you. Its crazy how some people have no mercy and don't care what the situation is. No is a quick answer that solves their problem. read more

I hate digging through racks, but I also love finding a deal, so I'm conflicted. This location is very organized, and makes browsing much less of a hassle than most stores like it. They are particularly great for children's clothing and shoes, women's shoes, men's button downs and sunglasses. The women's clothing is hit or miss, and the men's shows suck. For children, they have Flowers by Zoe, (adorable), Polo, etc. Excellent deals, and shoes are too many to name. Women's shoes are a disaster, but usually a couple good finds. Also a decent designer shoe section. For the real clothing deals, head to TJ Maxx. Lines are long, but fast. Parking surprisingly sucks, especially during peak seasons. read more

This store is just ok. It would be great if the changing rooms were better organized. There are always huge lines when I go. It happened few times that the staff was unfriendly. Lines to check out are usually long, but they have ad hoc stations and that helps a lot. Another thing that happened to me is that one of the security tags on the garment was left somehow, never removed. I could not wear it because there is no way to remove it without going back to a store. After a several missed opportunities on wearing the sweater I finally come back with it. I suggested maybe a markdown/price adjustment for it since the sweater was marked down since then, and after all I needed to make another trip, I lost my time and money. Person that helped me seemed confused and then said that they don't do price adjustments. I guess customer service skills didn't trickle down from the Nordstrom to Nordstrom Rack. read more

I agree with many other yelpers when I say that this is the best Nordstrom Rack i've been to thus far. There is so much to choose from; much more variety than the downtown Chicago or Orland Park stores. I found my favorite Juicy Couture trench here for 1/2 the price i'd pay at a retail store, at the same time it was still shown in the JC store on Oak Street. Also found adorable LelliKelli shoes for my niece for less than 1/2 the price with a cute and comfy toddler Juicy Couture track suit to match. I can't wait to go back, I love going here first and then heading over to the mall to Nordstrom retail store to pick up whatever I can't find here on sale. read more

I get here about once a month. Love shopping for shoes - it is Nordstrom's - but also have found some of my deepest discounts on bras! getting 80 dollar bras for 14 dollars. My favorite Nordstrom rack find was a cashmere winter coat for 90. Original was close to 900!!! for me it is NOT about the label - it is about the quality that I can have at lower prices. I mean - have you felt a cashmere coat!! its like heaven to wear! the store is also clean - bright - well staffed. look for the little "check out" kiosks throughout the store to avoid the lines... read more

You can find pretty decent deals here, but more recently this place has turned into a huge mess! I would say within the past couple of years they have seemed to really let the store go, it's not neat like some of the pictures people have been posting. In the clothing sections there are always weird sizes like XXS or XL, the normal sizes seem to not be available most of the time. Also, it is honestly just a mess, it's hard to find something in a different size because stuff is all over the place! The section of miscellaneous stuff is pretty deceiving, because most of it is just as expensive, or even more expensive than getting it at a regular store. For example, the Big Sexy Hair hairspray costs more money at the rack than it does at Ulta. Once you do find something you like the line to check out is so long sometimes I just put the item back and leave! I will say I have gotten pretty good deals on shoes, and on occasion I've found a decent purse at a good price. I would't totally rule it out if you have the patience to deal with the mess! read more

I don't know why every now and then when visiting family, I'll pop in at this Nordstrom Rack for a dose of some good 'ol retail craziness. Not that Northbrook's NR is perfect, it's not; it's just that it's better in every way from more and better high-end inventory to swifter and friendlier staff. I have never been to the OB Rack without a line to checkout that snakes all the way to purses & accessories or further back to intimate apparel. It's not like it's Christmas Eve or they're giving quality stuff away for less than every other store - they're not. It just seems to be indicative that they can not get their act together. After 15 minutes to checkout, the last thing I want is to listen to 50 ways to manipulate a customer to sign on to their FREE rewards program. Sure, free it is, until you spend 20 minutes a day deleting useless, junk emails they send in an effort to tempt you to buy more of their junk...and boy does NR have junk. There is absolutely no way on earth REAL Michael Kor's has the willingness or desire to design 5, 6, 7 levels of various merchandise for the different outlets when he's doing that in grand proportions in his own stores and the upscale department stores. Looking at a purse with the "their" price of a few hundred more is hilarious in that it's untrue, sad, in that customers think they're getting a steal. Aesthetically, the store is all too often reminiscent of a pre-hurricane South Miami sale, where customers are frantically bashing their carts into the ankles of other shoppers in an effort to run on home to board up one's house. With this NR, clothes and hangers are stewn all over the floor and racks are overstuffed. There's no logical reason for that. read more

Be careful buying from this place. Was told if I didn't like the way shoes fit I could return them no questions asked. Today I went to return them and get a larger size. Mind you I have had them 2 days and tried them on once more at home. I was told they were too dirty, worn outside and they would not accept them back. What? I don't really have time to sit and argue or wait for a manager so I left. The register lines are ridiculously long, as bad as the DMV and this is Monday afternoon. Solid spot for designer wear brands at reasonable price. Much better than a TJMaxx. Only downside is mens footwear can be fairly used at times. I like this place, but at the same time it frustrates me. The lines, the people, the loud talking on their cell phones, the chaotic arrangement of the merchandise.... But on the other hand, I have gotten some good deals there too. For example, their shoes. Now it takes some patience to look through the assortment, then wait in the line to get the match to it, but one can find great bargains on name brands, especially high end. I have also gotten good deals on Smart wool and Nike. It's like TJ Maxx, you have to search for the deals. Often you won't find your size. They have clearances with items that are damaged, but hey to each their own. I have gotten many pairs of earrings for great prices from $8-$12. Seems to have a nice men's section and children's although I have not done much shopping in those sections. read more

Good finds abound here... I was in absolute GIRLY HEAVEN when I combed through the Trina Turk rack, which also happened to include pieces by Nanette Lepore and Tory Burch... yeah... it might as well have been labeled "Hand-picked for Taryn." Their handbag and accessories section, on the right when you enter, is much small than those of other Nordstrom Rack locations, but there are some killer finds there. Most recently, I ended up getting a rose gold BCBG Max Azria watch for $60 (from $150) and a Rebecca Minkoff change purse for $30 (from $55) - both things I'd been searching for for the longest time, but had refused to buy full-price! And the handbags? Awesome. If I hadn't just bought a new one for spring, I definitely would have picked up one of the Rebecca Minkoff bags they had - for half off ($225) even though the very same ones are at regular Nordstrom stores for full price ($550)! For girls who work in an office/corporate environment like myself, the Kenneth Cole jewelry is trendy yet neutral and work-safe, and it doesn't tarnish. It's marked way down at Nordstrom Rack - about $10 for a ring and $15 for a necklace. Lastly, I saw a few Kate Spade pieces here in the clothing section, and I was sorely tempted... but I want to try very had to NOT max out my $2,000-limit Nordstrom credit card. (Oh, and if you're really in the mood to bargain shop, this location is next to TJ Maxx and DSW, too - damn them!) read more

The manager and staff are beyond disrespectful aside from the cashiers. They claim to be helpful but in reality they just really waste your time!! I had an issue with my coats and they would not honor anything although they had made the mistake of marking an item for another. I was waiting for the manager to "take a look" for about 30 mins and she came back and told me she couldn't honor the price adjustment even after "taking a look" for 30 min and seeing that I am right because the tags are right in front of her. Don't even bother with their customer service it's beyond a disaster they could care less about what you have to say as long as they're getting their cut they don't care even if you're the right one. They are not accommodating what so ever! Even for their very own mistakes. Beyond a disaster!!! Do not shop here terrible customer service and absolutely no accommodations. read more

My favorite pair of shoes that I own currently were purchased here, but my most recent visit was really disappointing. The men's clothing department was totally disorganized; it was really hard to browse around and find things. I like certain brands and had a tough time finding what I wanted- they used to arrange everything by brand. I saw a few decent pairs of shoes, but couldn't find what I wanted. I would describe Nordstrom Rack as an upscale TJ Maxx. They sell clothes, shoes, accessories, formal wear, and even random beauty supplies. It is much better organized than TJ's and has nicer brands, but the savings aren't nearly as good. While their products are discounted, they are discounted down from ridiculously high Nordstrom prices. But it's definitely still worth a look. read more

They lose a star for 2 reasons... to many brands and junk taking up space that you would never find at Nordstrom's (makes it crowded and cluttered)and why don't they get as many of the high end brands as their city locations? Never thought I would love a Nordstrom rack store. This place made my trip worth it! It is very clean and organized. Friendly employees and great deals! It's so nice to be able to find clothes I like in my size for a very affordable price. I was able to find a jacket for $10 after 75% markdown and lots of cute spring/summer tops for less than Forever 21 prices! Whooooo! Can't say the same for San Jose locations. read more
