This place sells junks. I bought three panties and threw them in the washer before wear. They fell apart. Brought them back for return. Cashier stated because merchandise was washed, store policy was to have manager's to approve return. After standing there for a long while, a female manager finally showed up who was quite cold and refused to take them back. She said "the merchandise was damaged (well, that's the reason for returning) and I didn't even have a receipt". A normal person would know Nordstrom and Nordstrom Rack email receipts. The purchase was only couple weeks ago. She could use my Nordstrom card to track the receipt. I will be very hesitate to buy form this store again. After missing my downtown Rack for almost 5 years of living in Denver, and then striking gold in a Rack here in my new hometown, you better believe I was going to check out this Rack that moved into a much larger location within the Westlake Mall. What a motherload! I had fun browsing through each section from uber designer to work wear to casual to gym to lingerie to shoes...ahhh. I will admit it was a bit overwhelming because the store is by far biggest NR I've ever seen. SO large and crammed with racks and racks absolutely overstuffed with clothing. The women shopping here were a bit scary and I was shoved more than once. But I can't blame the store for that. I love the many staff roaming the aisles because I needed a price check and was helped immediately without having to wait in line at the cash registers. I had the most luck on the clearance racks and managed to find a couple of shirts, a skirt and a pair of jeans all 70% or more off retail prices. The staff in the dressing rooms were friendly and efficient in spite of kind of a chaotic scene (and this was just a Tuesday afternoon). While I no longer hear the siren call of designer clothing, I found a million things I would have loved to bring home for work clothing purposes. The number of shirts that were casual, yet dressy enough for a corporate office - AND hovering around $20 or less marked down from $60, $70 and even $80+ - would have made my closet very happy if I wanted to use up more suitcase space. And I can't argue with walking out the door with a $49 pair of Seven jeans when my husband just paid more than that a week before for Levi's. At the stinking Levi's Outlet! Sheesh. DISAPPOINTED!!! I've really tried to like the new Rack. Live downtown, been a Rack client for many, many years. Was happy to see it move to new location. What a horrible experience! I've tried a dozen times to find something and really like it but I can't bring myself to go there anymore.Trash, trash, trash!!! "Contemporary Designer" dept at the bottom of the escalator is such a mess (and for $300-$1500 I can find something elsewhere that hasn't been trashed, falling off the hanger and in some sort of disarray!). I took the time to write a comment about a month ago...took 20 min - and heard NOTHING back. I thought I was in the minority, that it was about change. This is to do with my online experience : 1/Described a messenger bag as leather, when it was actually was PolyU. 2/Four emails with no response. 3/Asked them to stop order but sent it anyways. 4/Finally called, and went back and forth for an hour. Agreed to a credit for all the trouble. 5/Reneged on the deal. 6/Sent more emails, no response. 7/Called again. No notes in system to go back on. 8/Asked to speak to head office. What can I say? I love The Rack! I used to work at Nordstrom back in the day and the men's clothing selection was always pretty hideous. Basically if you weren't a golfer or a banker, there was nothing really worth buying. My, how those times have changed. Always a good spot to check out for shoes, clothes, accessories, and surprisingly now home goods. I rarely ever leave without finding something that I want. I also love the new mobile check out, so I don't have to wait in line when I am ready to pay. read more

You don't expect to get such great service from a discount store, and time and time again I've found the sales associates here to go out of their way to be helpful. Although this store is crowded and sometimes picked over, there are still some great deals to be had. They also benefit from support of the regular Nordstrom store across the street, which was willing to steam the dress I bought here for me, since it was in very wrinkly condition at purchase. read more

This place is way too crowded and overpriced. Often times the prices of things are way too high for the given designer. The SA give no attention to you either, and are rude. The man who checked out my purchases did not speak to me or look at me. I felt like I was trapped in a basement as the store is in the downstairs of the shopping center. Although it has a great Shoe selection, everything else is messy. Cluttered, and the staff is hardly ever available. And when they are, they're not knowledgable. They have no idea where things are and seem to always be in a hurry. I went in trying to find an outfit, and couldn't find anything in the mess and the basement like environment. I was very impressed with not only the selection but also the helpful employees. I'm not the best at picking out colors, but Josh was wonderful in helping me match ties and giving me solid advice on suits, colors, fits, etc... I tried to purchase a Hobo brand bag online $107.00 but the site wasn't agreeable. So I go into the downtown Seattle location & purchase the bag. During which I asked the clerk if I could have the online price. I read my receipt later and it was rung up at the store price $117/$132 with tax. I am irritated. . Now the straps weren't quite as long as I'd like, the leather a bit thinner than I'd like, it's a bit larger than I like, and it doesn't have feet but it's still really cute. I go online again thinking fine I will get it online and return the store one. No such luck. So I call customer service. The first woman's computer froze on her so I had to call back. The second woman was extremely helpful, unfortunately the purse had sold out. The next day I go back to the downtown Seattle Westlake location and ask to have the price adjusted. The cust. service person said Nordstrom Rack would honor it. As well as two of my coworkers, both of my sisters and a friend's adult daughter. The clerk tells me he has to ask his manager and calls her. He tells me no, his MIC? (manager-in-charge) said they do not do adjustments for online the two are different. I keep the bag in its packaging for a week looking at it. Finally decided I didn't want it, and returned it. Not to mention a couple of mistakes I made. i.e. I had not signed up for an online account yet, but the website was having issues. Also, at the store I used a Nordstrom debit card, that I'd never used before. I forgot it was attached to a checking account. I had closed that account sometime ago. So I got a call from Nordstrom, they were attempting to collect funds for something. I'm like what the heck else did I owe for? The purse, and now the total was $157.00. So all in all if Nordstrom Rack had just honored the online price and even if I'd still had that extra $25 fee, I would have been a little irritated with myself but kept my purse and no Yelping!!! I'm irritated with Nordstrom Rack because other businesses honor their online price in-store. I've consoled myself with a cute Dooney & Bourke bag. read more

there are some great deals here, but sometimes the inventory can be really messy and disorganized, so that things are difficult to find in the size you're looking for. this place seems very touristy as well with all the shoppers who are coming here from out of town. i do appreciate the quick service available with the mobile devices if you are paying by credit card however. read more

Very disappointed in the new store, which I'd been looking forward to.. As others have said, it's very cramped, and with focus on high-end super-fashion looks for the young & trendy. While its great that one no longer has to wait at shoe -mate window, the selection of shoes seems to have gone downhill, and the angled layout hard to navigate. Shoes are on shelves that run floor to ceiling, but I did not see any step stools; aisles are very narrow. The men's shoe section runs into women's. I saw mostly high-heeled shoes, I guess in keeping with the desired target consumer . I have shopped at the downtown Rack for 30+ years now, and guess I must now in be in one Nordstrom's unwanted demographic groups. I came to the store looking for the petite clothes that I have relied on over the years, only to learn that the new store not only no longer has a petite dept, but no longer carries petites at all, and has likewise discontinued plus sizes and kids shoes. Nordstrom's needs a wake-up call : about half of US women are petites ( defined as 5' 4" and under) and with Seattle's population, even more so. I did pick up some underwear on the visit, but no longer have any reason to wish to return. read more
