Downtown Seattle's Nordstrom has the most amazing service and diversity! I came here after having the worse experience at Nordstrom Portland, Oregon to find a particular Gucci purse. Nordstrom of Portland, Oregon was extremely rude and even discriminatory towards my family and I, thus we walked out with nothing that day and went back to Nordstrom of Seattle, Washington. The store is absolutely beautiful. At least four stories of amazing merchandise selection and great service. Every associate was polite, smiling, professionally-dressed, and had great customer service. Many big brand names are offered and there are many designer branch stores like Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Chanel, and more.Even though the associates was dressed extremely professionally, my family did not feel out of place in our comfort-style clothing because of the associates' kind and open personalities. We walked into the Gucci part of Nordstrom and was immediately greeted and told if we needed anything to let them know and to feel around. I enjoy having the freedom to look around and feel the material before being helped so I know what I want. None of the associates were pushy or judged us for our looks. After not being able to find the handbag I was inquiring about, Esteban and his brother were quick to help us order the handbag. They also explained I could use notes, gift cards, and my Nordstrom card on the purchase and that the purse would be here by next week. If I have to purchase any designer handbag or items I am happy to purchase them at Seattle Nordstrom and pay tax rather than purchasing at Oregon Nordstrom and save due to the amazing service Seattle is able to offer. There was zero discriminatory looks and many of the associates chatted with us about activities and Air Jordan sneakers. The associates here at Nordstrom Downtown Seattle are happy to make all their clients comfortable and happy by all means. They are the definition of Nordstrom's high standard customer service. This review is for Nordstrom as a company, not just their Seattle location. I used to love Nordstrom, but lately they are a complete mess. Online orders regularly get lost and their customer service team doesn't do anything to help. They pride themselves on excellent customer service, but it doesn't go beyond them saying sorry and that they don't want that experience for their customer. If they didn't want that experience for their customers, they would resolve issues and look for ways to improve them in the future. read more

Credit! new deal have to renew store credit card every year!!! After having an account with Nordstrom since 1975 I'm disgusted and inconvenienced! We even have a credit on account they owe us!! Nothing is for the customer any longer, just money money money! Buyer beware and don't play with their credit accounts they also ding you late if you don't pay on their due date picked by them. It will effect your credit when you try to get a mortgage but you can push past them with proof of payment within days f their listed date. Not the same store it used to be. Disappointed. read more

Nordstrom customer service was very expeditious and excellent tonight. Had ordered truffles from London and they arrived previously melted and re-hardened and inedible. Within minutes I received notification that it was being replaced and shipped. Replacement received in 3 days. Unfortunately it still wasn't of fresh quality, but it wasn't previously melted as the first. I'm rating 4 stars and not 5 because of this. But that is beyond their control as it's an import item. read more

Ordered my sister a gift online from this company, it shipped and said it was delivered but it was not left in the lockbox like it stated. Called Nordstrom to get a refund, they denied my refund request because they have in their system it was delivered when it wasn't. Then got told to wait until the promise delivery date to then file another refund request. Tried to file a refund request but was told I needed to file a police report!! They just don't want to do their job correctly! Will never be shopping or ordering anything from this company again! Now I have to file a dispute with my bank to get my money back, everyone should know not to order anything from Nordstrom's because if it is stole they don't care enough about their customers to give them their money back! I've been a Nordstrom cardholder for over 17 years. I've held level 2 status for a long time, several years at level 3. I am now back to level 1 status because we haven't been out shopping as much with a 3 year old child. I also worked at Nordstrom (San Francisco, CA) during my high school and early college years for approximately 3 and a half years. During those years, I was awarded an "All-Star" (customer service) award and 2 Pacesetter (sales) awards, I was able to achieve this because I lived and breathed the Nordstrom customer service philosophy. Unfortunately there are several people in this Nordstrom who DO NOT. It's surprising because it is their first store. You would think they would have the "customer service" experience down pat. My family and I were here during Super Bowl Sunday and you can count the number of customers in the store because all the Seahawks fans were watching the game. Upon entering, we encountered approximately 5 sales folks, NONE who greeted us. They were too busy talking amongst each other or checking out their reflection in the mirror. There was a man who was working the floor, he had brown slicked back hair and was probably in his late forties or fifties. He gave me the once over and didn't even crack a "hello" or how can I can help you. He looked as if I was bothering him by being there. I shook it off because I thought he was busy trying to help someone else. I am giving the 1 star for the lady who did greet me in the shoe department and asked me if I needed help. I showed her a picture of a shoe I needed and she was very helpful! I was really looking to drop some major cash here but after the lack of service of several people we passed, I would never ever come back here to shop. I saw the man I mentioned above again, when I left the store to purchase something from the Ebar and re-entered from a different door. This time he was gossiping with a lady with a dog and gave me ANOTHER once over. I wish I got his name because he needs a major personality overhaul. This is NORDSTROM and not Barneys or Neiman Marcus where snobby sales people are definitely a given. I have been to Nordstrom stores in Chicago, Oregon, Hawaii, California, Colorado, Texas, Florida and Nevada. I have ALWAYS received stellar service from every single person I encountered and have never felt compelled to write a one star review about Nordstrom. Unfortunately this place fell short. I felt so disgusted by that one sales person that I had to stop myself from writing one of the fourth generation members of the Nordstrom family a letter regarding my experience. This Nordstrom needs to do a major overhaul of their customer service experience and not to judge a book by their cover. I had the receipt, tags and bag was perfect. I only wore the bag out because the sales women I originally worked with took off the tags and handed it to me. But Rebecca said I needed the dust bag which I never received. Not only that, I had to come back the day of purchase because I didn't receive my receipt that day as well. The woman who rang me up couldn't even count to 4500 I had to assist her and recount the money a couple times (RUN THE FOOTAGE BACK AND YOU WILL SEE). Jon the store manager and mainly Rebecca tried to humiliate me today and would not take my return because they said the bag was used??? I left the store, humiliated and in tears. I have never been treated so poorly in any establishment like this. I am shocked and will not be shopping in a Nordstrom again. So sad too I've spent so so so much money to support a place that hires workers that make their customers cry. Tried to follow up with a new manager and Nordstrom has completely changed they do not care about their customers. Associates apparently are always right. They just love making excuses.... And honestly they lost a valuable customer I have spent over 10k this year alone in this establishment and they will not get another dime out of me again. This review is only for the Trend Show! I've been attending Nordstrom's beauty trend show for the past several years. Who doesn't love all the cool new things in cosmetic, skincare and fragrances? I love it so much, I attend both shows each year. One in the Spring and one in the Fall. This last event was April 26th,2014. It was a lot more organized this year. They actually have menus, schedules for every department you want, special tickets printed and the whole nine yard. It was also much busier compared to last year's show. Love the show. 8 am- models, specials, giveaways! Eeee What's not to love? Then came the disappointing part. My amazing fragrance consultant Mary has been there for 45 years! She's the reason I go to these shows. We went and visited her since we had time to kill before our appointments. This was around 9 am- the store wasn't opened till 10 am. And of course- my girlfriend and I got ourselves pretty new scents! Then came Butter london for mani/pedi. It's a busy busy area. You need appointment and luckily we did have it but for 2 pm. We wanted to try it for earlier since we had time and one of my girlfriends got in! Yey her. The two of waited for her at the Sultra -opposite from Butter London's makeover station. And comes the kicker! I love Sultra products. I use them too. They are ultra light, ceramic technology hair dryers, straighteners and curlers that run you around $200- $250. And worth every penny. If other dryers take 30 mins to dry your (long) hair, Sultra can do it with half the time. I got mine a year and half ago from Nordstrom and it broke! Off I go here to try out their new products. The lady with super blonde hair was demonstrating the new bombshell curler! Why not! I'll let you curl my hair though I've already got my appointment set up at Aveda later on. And maybe pickup a new dryer while I'm at it. As I sat , she gave me two fabulous curls on my left side. She just rolled it up and let it go. Viola. It was bouncy and pretty! Talk about exciting stuffs when you are wide eyed ,makeup less at a show in a crack of dawn. My friend squealed with excitement for me. And that was it. My very long and straight hair filled head has two super curly hair on one side. And the lady told me if I want more, I'll have to buy the product. WOW! I love Nordstrom. I bring my clients here. I shop here, do lunches here. I mean I have never!! Their policy was customer satisfaction guaranteed and this was the worst way to go about it. I know it's a big show, overwhelming and everything. But really? She really expected me to walk around looking funny with 2 random curls in my hair unless I buy the product? That just wasn't right. And comes another shocker from Butter. My second girlfriend finished her manicure and decided to buy one of their new gel packs. The stylist told her it was $25. But once she rang the product, it was $40. We asked why the price change, instead of easily apologizing , she went and brought the manager. It was the most confusing moment ever. After two strange services, we were ready to leave even though our events were scheduled till 3 pm!! We decided to go for our appointments at Calrisonic before we did. And it was night and day. The other Mary at Clarisonic was more than pleasant. There was no pressure selling. She did my whole face instead of just half a face. She gave us the right prices! Overall- the places we loved were Aveda, Clarisonic, Brows and fragrances. Thanks Mary! The rest- Sultra ( the worst service), Butter london (confused staffs), Mac ( 30 minutes wait with appointment) and Lamer ( another failed attempt at facial by using the wrong products and colors) were less than impressive. I would have left right after the bad experiences but I feel bad as an organizer for this girl outing since it was my friends first time. Luckily, they loved the Aveda and fragrances and took some home. Me- I may have to rethink about attending another trend show this year. Pressure selling is just not my thing. Normally, I loooove Nordstrom. The staff are usually pretty helpful.... from where I'm from in California. However, the staff at this location are ALLLL snooty. Maybe they feel entitled just because it's the Nordstrom flagship store? Nehhhh, sit back down from your high horse. I was appalled by their lack of customer service. We weren't greeted at times, asked for assistance, ...even acknowledged! The saleslady at the Gucci section only looked up once from her phone when we first walked in. I asked her back, "How's your day going?" and got ignored. She was too busy texting back someone more important than a person in front of her helping with her commission sales. I'll take my money elsewhere. When I went at the end of December 2015, there were lots of renovations going on so I'm curious to see what the outcome is. Coming from someone who once worked in retail a long time ago (now I'm a nurse, btw. Not to toot my own horn).... don't judge your customers by their appearance. You do only work in retail. My boyfriend always says he's going to dress like a bum on a random day and come into these type of stores with snooty employees... not be acknowledged by any of them and drop $$$ in the store just to teach you folks a lesson. read more

Nordstrom is going under some serious renovations projected to be completed next year, and the reason might make you giddy. If you've been to the Nordstrom in Bellevue, you know that there is a bar on the second level. You'll probably also know that men inhabit this bar to sip their boredom away while their ladies shop. It's pretty perfect. And here we are in 2015, where Nordstrom Seattle will be opening their own bar as well. On my recent trip, I tied my dog outside to run into the store while a friend was shopping inside. One rep noticed I was going out every few minutes to check on him and he asked his manager if there was anywhere I could put my dog while I shopped. The response? "We are a pet friendly store, bring him in!". So I did. And he was happy (see picture!). The ladies in cosmetics loved him and he loved them back. I didn't frequent this location too often because every time I came, the staff is on me like white on rice - constantly trying to sell things to me, in a very forceful manner that I didn't appreciate it. Wow, it's been a minute since I've been here(like 10 plus years). It's just a lot of work to go to Downtown Seattle to find parking when I have a Nordstrom right in Bellevue, but the layout here beats any other Nordstrom by far, assuming it's because it's a flagship store. Apparently they just went through a renovation! It feels like a Bloomingdale's, with little designer stores within the store itself. Louis Vuitton, Gucci, Chanel, Fendi, Tory Burch, you name it. The makeup department is beautiful, a lot of brands to choose from also. I think there's a total of 4 floors, one thing I don't like is that they don't keep all the shoes in one location, it's like the middle range shoes are gathered on the first floor and the designer shoes are shattered throughout all the other floors, it's really confusing and inconvenient for me. Other than that, I've always love my experience shopping at Nordstrom. I don't feel being judged having dogs in a stroller here, there's many other dog moms doing the same thing. This store might be in my top five favorite places on Earth. That's how much I love me some flagship Nordy. I'm updating my review not to change the rating, but to tell you about the recent amazing store delivery experience I just had. I stopped in recently to check out their shoes and maybe snag a fun pair or two for my upcoming Tokyo trip. Of all the shoes I tried on, the ones that were my favorite were not available in my preferred color/size. Dang. However, they did have them in my size in another color. I tried them on, loved them, but really wanted them in black. So, it's nothing new for a department store like Nordstrom to offer free shipping to store. It's also not new to have a shoe sales associate offer delivery options or nearby store pick-up options for shoes unavailable at their location. However, there is no service like Nordstom customer service. The gentleman who was helping me made it his mission to make me happy. He knew I loved those shoes, so he looked at nearby stores, checked online supplies, and asked me lots of questions about what I'd prefer. I told him I'm leaving soon and I'd love to get the shoes delivered to the store in a day, if possible. I knew there would be an extra charge for expedited delivery, but I wasn't expecting it to be as low as $15. He set my expectations even with 1-day shipping because it can sometimes take them a while to process deliveries. But he was pretty sure I'd get them by 5pm Friday. He went through a pretty long process of getting my order in and went out of his way to make sure I'd get my shoes. Fast-forward to the next day and my shoes were already delivered to the store, 1 full day before I expected! I stopped in to pick them up and another awesome associate took a special trip down to get my shoes before they were even processed. Wow. So grateful. Dropped by this Nordy's a few weeks before Christmas and was welcomed with a plethora of kind and approachable employees. This location was surprisingly not as crowded ones that I've been to in California, so it's nice to be able to shop or try on things without the crazy lines. The best part of my time here was definitely the amazing pianist. I regretfully did not get his name or purchase his album, but totally snapped a photo because I'm a total creeper. I've recently become attached to Nordstroms due to the awesome quality of their products and brands, and their always spectacular customer service, so of course I had to pay homage to this location and see all the wonderful things still in stock on sale in my size. Thankfully I was able to pick up a G Shock watch I was looking for everywhere in Seattle at Nordstroms because they actually had almost every G Shock on their website. The staff was friendly and extremely helpful in giving me advice about picking out a watch and I walked away a happy customer. This location even has its own little boutique shops inside like Neiman Marcus does for certain brands. Fantastic! read more

Everyone has a great sense of style and personality, and it doesn't look like they're wearing a "suit uniform" like I see in Vancouver sometimes. They are friendly and helpful. I've been to this Nordstrom a handful of times and I just recently visited with a friend. I will say the remodel is great and the Louis Vuitton store that just opened is amazing. Service was great, we were greeted on every floor and all of the sales associates were very friendly. My only draw back is the product, I feel like there wasn't stuff to look at. *Update 6/11/16* I've always said, it's speaks more about a company how they respond to and treat unhappy customers than how they do so to happy ones. That being said, I need to update my recent review of the Nordstrom's cosmetic department and upgrade my ranking of this fine store. After sharing my poor experience in my review about the MAC area here, the Nordstrom store manager contacted me, saying she had read my review, she realizes they need to address the staffing problems in the department in question, she felt awful about my missed opportunity to have a mother-bonding experience with my kid, and she asked what she could do to make it right. I replied that it means SO much to know that our reviews are being monitored, that our voices are being heard, that our experiences are used as a tool to improve issues that may be in play in the store, and that they care enough about us and our store loyalty to want to make things right. I for one really appreciate that, more that anything. That the store hears me and tries to "fix" the problem, and they want me to return. This happened with me years ago at our Redmond iPic, after a less-than-stellar review. They responded so promptly and so professionally, I became a fan for life (and I now go there every week and am a "regular"!). Same goes for Nordstrom. They are a model of excellence in customer service. Sure, problems may arise here and there. But how they respond to them speaks volumes. I am a fan for life. read more

I was very disappointed in the service I received on the phone with the shoe department at Nordstroms this past weekend. I was passed from the general line to the shoe department then to another different shoe department. I asked if they had a specific pair of Acne Studios boots in stock, was placed on hold, then I waited for about 20 minutes before I drove into a parking garage and had to hang up as I was going to lose reception. At no point during that 20 minutes did someone come back to tell they were still looking for my item. I am certain that they simply forgot about me and left me on hold. Perhaps the commission-based model means that callers receive bad customer service because the staff only care about selling to people in front of them. When I am buying $600 shoes from you, I expect better service than this. read more

What has happened to the Nordstrom Customer Service that Customer Service seminars used to use as the top example? Now you get an email saying that your package has been delivered... but it hasn't been delivered. When you call they say it was a mistake, wait a few days and call back if you don't get it. Two days pass I call again, am now told it was just shipped and I should get it in a few days. Then I do get the package and 1 of the 6 items they say that was in the package wasn't there. I call Customer Service again. After several tries, and being hung up on, I get someone who can speak English. But she had to send it to their "Delivery Research Team" to determine if they will issue a refund for the item I didn't get. I said I don't want a refund, I just want them to send me what I ordered...AND PAID FOR! Nope, can't do. WHAT??? Shame on you Nordstrom, how far you have fallen read more

OH MY WORD, we hit the motherload. This is the flagship store...store NUMBER 1!!!! We had the best customer service any 5 girls could hope for. We each bought at least 2 pairs of shoes in the BP area and they were ALL on sale!!! Fuchsia pumps and grey suede boots galore. The salesgirl was so helpful, she found all the sizes we needed and super fast too. When she mixed one up, and brought out a pair of pumps in fuchsia, not black, i think we all squealed and then bought that as well. We didn't even have to get up from the chairs because we were still browsing and looking at each other's picks, so she ran our cards and then brought everything to us. sigh. so happy. read more

I live near- by so I frequent this location quite often, Faiza in the perfume section has been extremely impolite to me time and time again, it has made me avoid the cosmetic section all together. Notably upon my recent visit smelling perfume, this employee steps directly in front of me, blocking my way to the display to assist another customer. She noticed I was there but didn't so much as acknowledge my presence or say a polite "excuse me." Needless to say this employee's repeated attitude has been very disheartening. read more

Dear Nordstrom, I've always felt things for you, but only upon losing you when we moved did I realize what I had. The flagship Nordy's in downtown Seattle is a staple for the area and is a true example of how good customer service can be. These folks go out of their way to be helpful and seemingly to a fault with returns. Great selection of upper end Men's clothing. Straight up, Norsport pants are the best out there. The prices are higher than elsewhere, but the quality is worth it. It also behooves you to shop during one of the two sales they have each year. The shoe section for men is solid, while the women's is EPIC! My wife would live here and I suspect there are some who spend more time in this section than with their kids. Super awesome service yesterday from Sabina (hopefully that's how you spell her name) in kids shoes! She went above and beyond and out of her way to help me! I was at the Bellevue location and found a pair of shoes for my son that he had wanted but they didn't have his size. The Bellevue employee said Seattle had the size we needed but she couldn't help any further than that. When I called over to Sabina she was so sweet and helped me get the pair of shoes and had them shipped to me. Thank you so much for going out of your way and the kindness and patience that you showed me and my kiddos! My little boy is so excited to get his new vans! read more

This is the mothership Nordstrom. If you can't find it at this Nordstrom then pretty much they don't sell it. Listen, it's a great store to shop at during the holidays because like I said before it carries everything that Nordstrom's offers and also the things that you won't find at the other stores. The customer service here is outstanding. And there is even a fresh flower stand in this store in case you needed some flowers. I was also able to pick up some fresh mistletoe while I was there last week. read more

Hands down, best shopping experience I've ever had. Things that I wear, are the only things that I would prefer to shop in person for; and nordstrom goes above and beyond in helping me do that. This specific 1 anyways, I've been to other Nordstroms in eastern wa and service was never this incredible nor was the layout of the store this appealing. I was shopping for shoes that morning, and the friendly yet humorous service that I received from my 2 sales reps put me in a good mood for the rest of the day. This is the only store credit card I own and for good reason! You can Never get this level of attention, personalization, service, receiving items day of, or assurance that brands are real from an online store. I honestly don't know why people keep comparing the 2 like it's easily substitutable actions, especially when it comes to designer fashion, which you really need to try on and test out for yourself. read more

If you are going to hit a Nordy's, be sure to make this one your first stop. Staff is great, no matter how much money you are, or aren't going to be spending that day. That said, I always spend a couple thousand more then I intend to ALMOST every time I come in. On site tailors are great and have no problem working with my super high end suits, and everything comes out just as it should. The store exemplifies excellence and makes for a rewarding shopping experience. read more

This particular Nordstrom has extremely cordial employees. I was really impressed by their friendliness when greeting customers and their ability to leave shoppers in peace. Most of them ask at least once if you need help, but they don't force you to buy anything or nag you about stuff. Also, this Nordstrom is pretty spacious, so it made shopping very easy. There were a lot of comfortable chairs for the obligatory husband/boyfriend. The handbags department is pretty awesome. There are the specialty shops set up around the perimeter (Chanel, Gucci, Prada, etc.) -- well that was clearly a sign for me to steer away from these beautiful but astronomically priced pieces, but that's okay-- I am totally fine with browsing Rebecca Minkoff, Kate Spade, Cole Haan, and more affordable lines in the middle of the department. Of course, don't forget to check out the "Reduced" sections; I saw some cute Coach ones (!), B. Makowsky, etc. in the pile, usually around 25%-35% off or so. The shoe department is super lovely. From what I've seen, the sales associates are generally pretty helpful with customers. I like gawking at the shoes that I obviously can't afford (unless I wanted to not eat for a week), but I like how for most brands they group them together and have a sign that says the brand. (Helloooo Prada). Nordstrom generally carries a lot of bright and funky colors around spring time. Don't forget to check out the "Reduced" sections here. I really like the boots section but unfortunately even on clearance they're still a bit out of my budget (a lot of leather boots still around $200-$300) If you are upstairs in the Women's department, check out the fitting rooms for sure. They're pretty spacious and there's even a raised platform with mirrors all around it, IN THE INDIVIDUAL ROOM itself. I even saw a pair of heels left behind for people to try on with their outfit in case they need heels (!) I've not seen this before and I thought it was rather clever, since I happened to be wearing not-very-stylish tennis shoes that day. I got a dress for around $75 or so. I asked the lady to remove a white spot on the dress and she just took it to the back and steamed it right off. Nordstrom is really good about these things, so don't hesitate to ask about any blemishes. Anyway, simply adore. If you have a hefty budget, do stop by this lovely department store. Oh, even if you don't have a large budget, whatever, just go in. read more

This Nordstroms is in a lovely building downtown in the middle of it all. It is immaculate inside and there is so much to look at and enjoy! It was awesome during the holidays, seeing Santa in the large window taking pictures with families and children. It was like a scene in a movie, sweet and quaint, all with the city as a backdrop. The selection is stellar here. I wasted a good 2 hours just window shopping before settling in and buying some Kiehl's products, some jewelry and I also came *thisclose* to buying another pair of heels I don't need. BUT THEY WERE SO PRETTY. I WANTED THEM. I used to be a serious driver (I mean I AM from Los Angeles, of course I drive!) but since I have been taking the bus from the Westside to the Eastside, the bus drops me off RIGHT ACROSS from Nordstrom, which I keep telling my boyfriend is entirely too dangerous. I haven't had too much issue with people not paying attention to me or bad customer service, which almost surprises me since I dress down because hey, I work in video games. I don't NEED to wear heels or dress nicer unless I WANT to. The staff here are not beat down by life than the poor souls who work over at Nordstrom rack that's for sure. I plan on shopping here occasionally since you know, I shouldn't blow ALL my money on pretty baubles and purses. At least not ALL the time. read more
