They've held up for years in my closet, and they really never go out of style. They're cozy and classic. I even got my husband into buying their crew sweaters. I specifically get their TNA butter high waist 7/8 leggings for climbing at the gym. Squat proof and buttery. My favorite brands at the store are Wilfred, babaton, TNA, and Sunday Best. I have a Wilfred cocoon coat that has lasted me for years. Thee best warm coat that perfectly fits my petite frame. Timeless look that can layer with sweaters. The best time to shop for their coats is right at the beginning of the year when they discount it. So worth it! Spencer helped me today, thank you! I enjoy coming here whenever I'm at the mall.

We were warmly greeted when we entered, and it seemed that the employees here genuinely liked working here. I saw them smiling and laughing and chatting with customers, who also were in good spirits. The merchandise here is clearly geared for younger women. It's a very "girly" store, but elevated. I saw plenty of lovely clothing, accessories and gift ideas, all in a mid-range price (relatively speaking. Nothing is really inexpensive, but neither are the prices exorbitant). Reading the other reviews, I see this shop is "faith-based", and they play Christian music. I was really surprised to see this! I am Jewish and I didn't even notice any of this. (If it were heavy-handed, I would be offended and leave, but honestly, I didn't even notice any of this!). Live and let live, I say. I had no idea there was any religious affiliation with this shop. All this does is make it impossible to figure out what size pants or top to bring into the dressing room. And to have 4-5 sizes means that each size fits a variety of shapes, so it's either too big or small. Not a fan. Chicos is big on accessories. Thing big, chunky necklaces. More bling. Belts. Scarves. That is at least real customer service, offering options, explaining policies and trying to be helpful. Train your store employees this vs just saying no and your store management to lead by example, not by being rude to customers. Don't shop here. You've lost my business.

They quickly did the check and during the process they asked me about the bonus cash reward I had in my Box Lunch rewards account. It made the purchase $5 cheaper. There are departmental store like JC Penny, Macy's, Nordstrom and a huge Dick's store. Few other unique places to me were Din Tai Fung and 85C Bakery Cafe. It's popular destination for tourists' shopping since there's no sales tax. The common spaces are wide, clean and have lots of open sky windows. There are plenty of sitting spots available as well for guests. We were in the mall for about 5 hours. We shopped in the Lego store, Tumi, VS, Dick's, 85C Bakery, and BoxLunch. We had friendly interactions from staff members in the all the stores. We also went to the food court on second floor, which was underwhelming compared to rest of the mall. The dining space had old tiles on the floor, the chair and tables were basic ones. There were 10-12 stores available offering a variety of cuisines. The food was decent from couple of stores we tried. Prices were little bit expensive. Overall we had wonderful half day spent shopping and dining at this mall. There was a good mix of popular and luxurious brands, offering wide range of products. The food court could use some facelift to match with rest of the wonderful interior of the mall.

A Former Employee's Disappointment: Nordstrom's Loss of Magic Having lived in Portland, Oregon, my entire life. Growing up my Mom and I would only shop at Nordstrom, Meier & Frank, Bergman's and Lipman's. When I was little, and also later, in high school and college, I remember how elegance of Nordstrom. Later, I worked at the Washington Square Nordstrom in Sales from 1996 to 2002. I rarely visit the store anymore. However, a recent visit to pick up items outside the main entrance left me dismayed, prompting the question: "What happened to this place?" The Sensory Assault The atmosphere was overwhelmingly loud and disruptive. The music was turned WAY up, featuring a thumping, loud bass that made me feel as if I had mistakenly entered a store catering to teenagers, like Abercrombie & Fitch or H&M. The traditionally beautiful and magical holiday decorations and ambiance, which were a hallmark of the day after Thanksgiving, were completely absent. Instead of relaxing holiday music or the beautiful piano playing the store was known for, I was met with noise and crowds, exacerbated by excessive "Black Friday Deals!!!" signage everywhere. Erosion of Professionalism and Style The changes in employee appearance and merchandising are stark. I recall Nordstrom once demanding a high level of formality and adherence to a strict dress code. Men wore nice suits, dress shirts, and ties, while women maintained a sophisticated, expensive look, avoiding sleeveless tops or tennis shoes. The employees oozed class. Now, the staff--seemingly just teenagers and college kids--dress unprofessionally. The young man working in the men's shoe department, for example, was dressed in baggy jeans, a white t-shirt, and an open flannel shirt. This utter lack of a dress code and professional presentation indicates they have no understanding of how to provide the traditional Nordstrom experience that many Northwest customers expect. Furthermore, the store's merchandising is messy; departments lack clear delineation, looking overstuffed and cluttered. The children's clothing section is now awkwardly crammed onto the first floor where Individualist used to be, with racks appearing to carry only very small sizes and styles appealing only to high schoolers and recent college graduates. The bizarre addition of items like candles and blankets to the shoe department only adds to the confusing clutter. A Department Store on the Decline Nordstrom has clearly gone down the wrong path, losing all the distinct magic that once set it apart. Employees are getting away with a lack of enthusiasm and unwillingness to smile or genuinely help customers. The high level of service and sophisticated atmosphere that defined the brand is gone. If the family does not carefully steer the stores back, I believe they will soon be indistinguishable from lower-tier department stores like Macy's and Penney's. If you're a person of color... watch out for Milena G. In the BP shoe department..white girl with blonde hair that looks like sh*t because it looks like the color of piss. She discriminates against people of color. I complained to another Nordstrom employee who said, "this is not the first time she has done this." So here's the story of what this bigot did: I came in to shop around for shoes with a friend. She did not bother to ask my friend and I if we needed help with anything even though it was obvious that we were waiting around and looking for someone to help us get shoe sizes. I watched Milena with her arms crossed talking to another female employee looking back at us with a look of disgust. So I decided to find a different employee to help us and that is when I discovered this was not the first time she has treated customers of color so poorly. He then walked us over (since he couldn't leave his department to help us) to get her to help us grab shoe sizes. She rolled her eyes and walked over to us asking what size we were looking for. She went to go grab the shoes and made sure to take extra time in doing it. Then, she came out with the boxes and decided to aggressively toss them on the ground, looking at us with a look of annoyance. We must've looked shocked because our facial expressions made her ask us, "WHAT? You want to sit somewhere else or something????" I told her "No???" At that point, I wanted to lose it and yell at her but I remained calm and tried on the shoes. As we were trying on the shoes, I observed her helping customers who were not people of color and treating them as if they were royalty-getting down on one knee to place the shoe boxes on the floor for them, taking the shoes out of the boxes for them, asking if they need another size or help with anything else all while trying to see if we were looking back at her to see that she treats white customers one way and colored customers a different way. It was at that moment, I realized what was REALLY going on. I watched her behavior when a man of color walked into the area shopping by himself and she did not even bother to approach him either. Milena G is a racist bigot and I took this to corporate level, I even explained to them that another employee told me that this was NOT the first time she has discriminated against people. The regional manager (Debbie Hartley) told me that she would face corrective action. Nordstrom has done nothing to solve this issue because she is still working there, still discriminating... still ignorant.. still an idiot. Next time, I will have to pull out my camera and take matters into my own hands by putting behaviors like this on blast on social media. read more

I visited Nordstrom's beauty department and unfortunately encountered unhelpful and unfriendly employees. Today, I went to pick up a gift for my friend at the perfume department. Despite standing there for a couple of minutes, the worker nearby failed to acknowledge me until prompted by another colleague. When I was finally assisted, the service was lackluster. The worker wrapped the gift and then picked up a bag from the floor and handed it to me. Uncomfortable with the experience, I quickly left the department. I approached the lady at the Chanel counter for assistance, and she kindly provided me with a bag. Although I knew what I needed to purchase and there were no other available staff members, I was hesitant to allow the initial worker to receive the commission. Her name is Sevim H. It is disheartening to suspect that her lack of attentiveness may have been influenced by my appearance or background. I've had a similar experience before at this Nordstrom. It seems like Nordstrom is okay with allowing employees to work there even if they hold racist attitudes. I've noticed that many of them don't hesitate to assist Caucasian customers before colored customers. read more

Worst customer service experience I've had in years. The sales associate in the Lingerie department spoke to me in an accusatory, judgmental and condescending manner, and asked the most ridiculous questions. I stated that I had a gift to return in exchange for a gift card, she then asked for my phone number... why would the person I received the gift from make a purchase under MY Nordstrom's account? She asked if the gift was an online purchase... how am I supposed to know how the gift was purchased? She then asked for the phone number or email of the person who purchased the gift. The gift was from a family friend- It could have been purchased under the account of any family member or their significant other. How am I supposed to know this information? I understand that there is protocol, but the delivery was offensive and cold. I felt uncomfortable throughout the entire transaction, and left feeling horrible. I'm so disappointed. My family and I have been customers since the 90's- it is unlikely I will make an in-store purchase at Nordstrom's Washington Square. read more

I'm a former cosmetics employee working at the Tysons Corner Center, VA store. I am officially known as a Nordies Snob having been affiliated for over 30 years and an esteemed (original) signature card member. I had to move to OR (under duress) and finally made the trip to this store. In their defense- under construction. But, they were out of anything I wanted- the cosmetic ladies were less than representative of the classy women I worked with and know in VA, and just not what I would expect from the store that came from the west coast. Also, looking for designer handbags- they said go to Portland. Really? That's totally illogical as it pertains to the violence and crime in that city. Also, Bend, Tigard, Portland, OR- please do something about the damn dogs in your store! I love dogs, but ladies, they will be ok at home for a couple of hours. OR has officially cured me of the desire for an in store experience. I will order via email if needed. Or will shop in DC when I go back. What a fall from grace. read more

I have some favorite sales people and some I would go out of my way to avoid. Recently the department I shop in moved upstairs so now the upstairs is all women's and kids. I don't mind it since I like to park in the parking garage to avoid the rain. I do wonder why TBD moved upstairs and why downstairs is all athletic wear. The layout has been the same for a while, and I hope they add a permanent return bar. It's frustrating having to wait to make a purchase when loads of people come in with boxes and boxes of online returns. How are sales people suppose to service us when they're just doing returns? Recently I went in with my daughter, and Q? started us a room. She disappeared, and when I came out of the fitting room after a manager opened it for me I saw her on her phone at the registers. She was eager to greet me when I was making a purchase but openly avoided helping me when I needed it. I wanted a attentive salesperson and not a cashier. Lesson learned. read more

I got the chance to get a mini facial and makeover at Nordstroms at Washington square Saturday and it was awesome. Tiger from the Gucci cosmetic counter and Harmonie from the Clinique cosmetic counter put the event on for me and some friends and they were awesome. They did an awesome job and treated us more like friends. They took the time to get to know us and tell us something about them. The service at the MAC counter used to be fantastic, I have shopped there fore years and every time I went I was greeted by someone that knew me, seemed like all the staff has changed. The girls are still nice but its so annoying that every time they have a limited additional line it gets sold out in a matter of days but they still keep the display out even though they cant be found anywhere! read more

I have a fanny-belt bag (as does my kid and my mom) and it's nearly a decade old and as good as new (and still looks great, too). No broken zippers or torn seams or broken buckles. Still fashionable, like the leggings I got eons ago. Their fashions and the quality definitely do withstand the tests of time. I've not tried on their new running shoes as I am loyal to my Hoka brand shoes, but this store has a prominent display of Lululemon athletic sneakers and, if they're anything like the rest of their product line, I'm certain they're of high quality, and they will make sure they fit you properly. The only reason why I'm not giving this store 5 stars is because no-one greeted us or spoke one word to us while we were in the store, despite it not being too busy there when we visited. (Note: this is atypical of Lululemon stores in general. Usually they warmly greet visitors and ask if they can help find anything). My kid and I weren't in the market for anything in particular, but we browsed around a bit. As usual, they had a few items on sale, but few things were in the sizes we'd need. Still, it's fun to look, and you ever know what you'll find on the sale rack.

During the Pandemic, once they opened, they are providing hand sanitizer, requesting customers to keep safe distancing through multiple signage as you walk in and throughout the store. Some aisles are one way as indicated by arrows on the floor. At checkout, the lines are obviously long because people are spaced out, but it moves relatively fast. They sanitize the counter in between every single transaction, which I appreciate. I came in to process a few online returns. Didn't find anything new even though there are tons of sales since the store still has merchandise from March, pre-Pandemic. In this new world where were are all tired of COVID-19 but COVID-19 has not tired of us, I just wanted to get in and out safely for my singular purpose.

Like usual, when you're not trying too hard is when you find what you're looking for. I ended up with a great deal on a pair of pants and a shirt that went with a futuristic vibe- think Xenon from Disney. I grabbed them and tried everything on. The pants were big- but since I was only wearing them for a costume I didn't mind. The staff was really friendly at the checkout and I was super pleased with the find. I've visited this store as a shopper and a seller several times, but I'm done. First, they are so…read morearrogant, bordering on condescending, as if they are the coolest kids on the block because they work in resale. Second, they are much too picky. You can take them brand new clothing, never worn, in perfect condition and they'll reject it. And their purchase prices are way too high for most of their items. There are abundant resale choices in the Portland area. I'd say try some other place.
