I told my server the short rib was dry and he was like oh okay -__- and he acted like it wasn't a big deal or that it wasn't a problem? I got the yakitori (1/5, flavor wasnt good and dry) and the squid (4/5, flavor was good! And good texture). So this place has to date the best ramen- although- I haven't given another restaurant a shot. I love the short beef rib spicy ramen. I have got to say... it's a shame, as it looks like Eddie, Watson, and Helen are no longer there... in place there is Kai, Mai, and Kacey behind the sushi bar... Big, the owner is there and apparently the only one who has ever made the ramen... I've heard really great reviews over NORI's ramen noodle dish. I was about to go to a nearby ramen restaurant when I remembered I still haven't tried NORI out yet. After my meal at NORI, I can honestly say I don't think I'll be going back to their competitors! I'm in love with their traditional miso ramen noodle bowl which has a twist of spice. Finding parking on a Thursday night wasn't an issue in Mizner around NORI which came to me as a surprise. There were plenty of free street parking. Entering the restaurant, I was a little hesitant as there weren't anyone greeting us or a host stand. We stood there while other tables glanced and it was a bit awkward. Finally, a server came and guided us to a table with menus in her hand. The atmosphere is a bit dark. You can either sit indoors or outdoors. We really liked the price points this restaurant offered. For example, they serve individual pieces of sushi and sashimi and they start at $1.75. We ordered a Thai Ice Tea while we decided on what to order. It came in a cute mason jar and while it was $5, it was pretty small. We ordered a volcano hand roll for $8, one piece of eel sushi for $3, a miso ramen bowl, and two rolls of sushi. We customized one of the rolls to have eel on top which was an extra surcharge of $9. The eel was 100% worth it. They served the sushi just right. Warm and slightly toasted on the outside. The Spicy Miso Ramen was amazing. I couldn't tell you how long I've been wanting authentic ramen in South Florida. This was a hit. The broth was a bit spicy and even though I don't usually eat spicy, I was in love with the broth. It's a huge bowl so I had enough for a second meal the next day. Our server wasn't the friendliest. We asked a few questions and she seemed as if she didn't want to have the patience. We still had a nice experience but definitely would return for the food. read more

I've been on the ultimate search for the best ramen in Palm Beach County, I've had amazingly memorable ramen in DC and now the bar has been set so incredibly high it's crazy. One a friend suggested this place, I decided to give it a try and was soo pleased that I did. Don't follow Google maps on this one, it'll lead you astray but know that's it's right off of Mizner. Parking is a bit of a challenge in that area so be mindful as you plan your trip. Seating is limited inside so ideal for intimate settings and really small groups. We were seated and started off with sushi as an appetizer. The spicy tuna was good, fresh and packed tight into a nice roll. Beer specials led us to enjoy imported beers with our meals. After coming here a handful of times, a review is definitely in order! We really enjoy this Sushi and Thai place. When we're in the area and craving sushi, we often turn to Nori! This is a very small place, with limited seating. They have about 8 tables, four seats at the sushi bar, and some tables outside. We love the outside seating, as it is DOG FRIENDLY! They have some good, although pricey, Cold Sake options. But hey, this is Boca right!? We always start with a Cold Sake of some sort! We also love to start with a Tuna Tataki. This is good quality Tuna, sliced perfectly, and served in a Ponzu sauce. I like to jazz it up with some Wasabi and ginger! Yum! My most favorite thing here (and possibly ever, in terms of Pad Thai) is their Crispy Pad Thai app. This Pad Thai has ALMOST everything you'd expect... bean sprouts, chicken, scallions, peanuts, and egg in a delicious sauce. BUT, there are NO noodles to be found! Yes, that's right! Instead, all of those ingredients I just listed are lightly tossed with crispy wonton strips. Do yourself a favor and get this! It dazzles me every damn time! My husband really enjoys their Ramen. This place is actually quite well known for their Ramen dishes. For me, the broth is never hot enough and they go pretty heavy on the pasta part. But, the pork on the top is delicious and the soft boiled eggs on top in the sweet soy marinade are what dreams are made of. I'm more torn then Natalie Imbruglia in 1997. Their sushi rolls are good. Each one I've had is a solid choice. We like the Miami Heat Roll, which is spicy tuna with many things inside, topped with more tuna. The Dragon Roll is also a good solid choice, and most recently we enjoyed a JB Tempura Roll. The service is solid as well, and they happily take special requests! Second visit today, called to ask if they could make any of their ramens vegan, the woman was gracious and accommodating. Informed me the Shoyu Ramen was the only one that could be made vegan because it's the only soy sauce based broth. Swapped out the pork for additional veggies, sans eggs. Asked if medium spice could be added, but unfortunately was forgotten, it's okay though, still very flavorful and the veggies couldn't be fresher. You get about half a dozen salad dressing options for their lunch special, asked for her opinion and she noted the ginger dressing was really good, she was absolutely right! Nori is located in Mizner Park, which seems to compete with Ramen Lab (for ramen) in this spot in town. I'm glad I got to check out Nori to compare the ramen offerings. To start off, Nori offers more than just ramen with sushi and Thai plates as well. The restaurant wasn't full when we got here but we still had to wait for some reason and weren't immediately greeted. Once we were seated, the waitress was pretty attentive. Everyone at the table got a different ramen offering. Per the usual, I ordered the spicy miso ramen with short rib. Nori hits all the marks for ramen in portion size, noodles, and broth flavor. I was a little disappointed with the short rib because it lacked flavor and was very fatty. This was the opinion across the board for the shoyu and tonkontsu as well. Ramen Lab takes the win for flavor, tender and lean (shredded) short rib. The service was fast and the staff was polite. Overall, Nori is comparable to the offerings at Ramen Lab, but when it comes to strictly ramen, I would go to the Lab. I would definitely like to come back here to try their Thai dishes. read more

I'm really torn about this review...I would love to give it 5 stars based on food but the service was a 3 at best. The restaurant is pretty small, prob about 8 tables inside and 4 tables outside. We went there around 7:30 and surprisingly only had like a 5 minute wait. The agedashi tofu was amazing! The sauce was the best one I've had so far and they toss it all with some fresh greens and it's still crispy. We had one of the cucumber wrapped rolls, which was delicious and the fish was fresh and melted in your mouth. We all ordered ramen, the broth was really good and I liked all the ingredients it was topped with except for the pork. It was a bit overcooked so it was tough to eat. Then for dessert the best mango sticky rice ever!! And brownie tempura with green tea ice cream. The desserts were so good and surprisingly not super heavy. Now the service was horrible. They were really nice but it took so long to get each course. For everything we ordered which was not a lot, we were there for almost 3 hours! We stumbled upon this place last night while walking our dog. The restaurant is small and had I not seen the few outdoor tables, would have been easy to miss. I recognized the name from other Yelp reviews, and we decided to give it a shot. I had a seaweed salad and the Spicy Octopus. They're not kidding when they say spicy! Chunks of octopus were served in a tangy broth with thinly sliced jalapeños and other peppers, and my mouth was on fire by the end of the meal. That being said, it was delicious! The octopus tasted fresh and it was the perfect serving size for being on the appetizer menu. My husband had the Drunken Noodles, which he says are some of the best in the area. I had a few bites, and I have to agree. The noodles weren't overly drenched in sauce, and the peppers, onions, and snap peas were just lightly sautéed. However there was a major Mosquito problem outside. if you eat inside im sure you are ok. but outside I think I received about 20 bites from mosquitos in the nearby bushes and standing water against the wall. As everyone states, Nori is very small with mirrored walls, a sushi bar, 1 tv and towards the back, a wall with guitars. Nori is a great date night place. There is also seating in the front. After reading Yelp reviews, I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen dish. It was okay. I love ramen noodles but this was different. I am adventurous and I can say I came and conquered. Everyone else enjoyed their dish so I can't give Nori low stars because I didn't like a dish I ordered and never tried before. NORI has potential but still falls short in the art of cooking the perfect bowl of ramen. Me and my mom got different ones to try each other's (tonkatsu and spicy miso). My tonkatsu ramen had very tasty broth. Good flavor, not over salty. There was shredded ginger inside which I didn't know about and hated. The other veggies including corn and Bok choy were fine. The pork in both mine and my moms had a stomach curling "gamey" taste to it. I can't describe it but it was disgusting and we couldn't eat it. The pork in traditional ramen is supposed to be thin and tender. This was thick and tough. The eggs were good. My moms spicy miso broth has a big kick so if you like spicy, it's great. This was my first fine, accompanied by a friend who raves about Nori, and impressed by the Yelp reviews. The restaurant is close to my home, and not so long ago having acquired new ownership, I thought it reasonable to give it a try. Ya know, support a local restaurant, non chain, give them support. Regrettably, their performance was so poor, in both the kitchen and in service, that I cannot provide more than two stars. Sunday night at around 7, four tables outside were occupied, and three inside. The owner takes our order, carefully repeating the level of spiciness, which was a good sign to me. From there on, it was a disaster. Poor execution in kitchen and on the floor. The dumplings took more than 20 minutes to arrive and while very tasty, $8.00 for 4 left me wondering what made a dumpling appetizer so expensive, and why they didn't provide a larger serving, or price it differently, but then again, it is Boca Raton. It took another 40 minutes for three entrees to arrive, and none of the other dishes were cleared from the table, nor the beer or water bottles. The chicken pad Thai was tasty, but the chicken was less than warm. The drunken noodles with shrimp was a huge portion, with a large serving of shrimp and rice noodles, at just the right level if spiciness. They got that dish spot on! (Earning 2 stars) My mixed vegetables with chicken was a disaster. Again, less than warm chicken, admittedly, though, a large chicken serving, BUT the smallest serving of mixed vegetables in a huge bowl/plate. What happened to the vegetables? Did they leave them in the kitchen? Plus, it was floating in sauce, and I had asked for very light sauce, which had been confirmed by the owner when she repeated the order. I concluded that the chicken was cooked first, was sitting around, and the noodles were cooked to order, and with the sole overwhelmed waitress, the food cooled down. The owner was no longer to be found, the sole waitress was visibly overwhelmed, running from outside to inside, making excuses at each table for the long wait, and rushing around bringing food to tables and taking orders for arriving diners. We heard her mumble "I need a stiff drink". Ah, we thought, so do we! The phone kept ringing and we could hear the answering machine message (this place is small and the answering machine was loud) - clearly people were attempting to call in take out orders or inquire about late deliveries. The owner reappeared after a lengthy 45 minute absence, explaining, after I complained about the lack of vegetables in my vegetable entree, the bowl filled with sauce, and the chicken temperature, that she was making deliveries! She comped the vegetable dish, and offered free desserts (we declined, it was 9:30, 2.5 hours of frustration). Normally, she is in the kitchen, my friend explained. Well, not tonight was my response. THOUGHTS: 1) Get a busboy 2) Get a delivery service - if you are the owner, stay where you should be - IN THE RESTAURANT. 3) Portion sizes need to be consistent 4) Hire more servers. This is South Florida in the height of season. You don't need to be a brilliant restaurant operator to assess the high and low seasons to know when you need more than one server! I really don't like negative reviews, and when I read them I always verify that the writer is not an annoyed first time reviewer. I am also suspect of 5 star reviews when the Yelper hasn't submitted any other reviews (hmm, how do I assess their rave remarks?After all, I'm a Brooklyn Boy, and always a bit suspicious of things like that). I'm not such a reviewer. It will be a long time, if ever, that I return here, as there are many other options for Thai food in the area. And, I can only assess performance on my experience, and while this potentially was an off night, it is also fair warning to others who might venture forth based on the generally favorable (objective??) reviews. Gyoza was so fresh and tasty; Beef Negiyaki was an amazing grilled taste cooked to perfection with a sweet and tangy sauce - I might just order 3 of these and some rice next time! We had the Tom Yum soup with shrimp and this was incredible with a complex taste of flavors and a little heat. The sushi was the best we ever had, EVER!! We had the spicy tuna, shrimp tempura and the volcano roll - so fresh, tasty, DELICIOUS. Sorry it took me so long to get to this place but it will now be my number 1. Best lunch that I've had in Boca so far and equally great pricing, especially in comparison to everywhere else. I've spent so much on my lunch hours, as I work right in the heart of East Boca, and it's pricey most places. I love food, and don't mind spending money on it, but sometimes I've left with that tinge of disappointment realizing the taste wasn't worth the cost. However, that was absolutely not the case here. Nori is a Thai Japanese fusion, two of my favorite cuisines. They're open for in the day from 11-3, and again in the evenings. While browsing the website before going, I noticed that the prices were up there. I just was craving some Ramen, but when I saw $20+, I was a bit shocked. That was until I found the lunch menu, and those prices were cut in half. There was so much to chose from too. The Japanese section with several Ramen flavors (Tonkatsu, Shoyu, Curry), bento boxes and sushi/rolls. Then the Thai menu with curries (Massaman, panang, red, green) and more. My curry Ramen bowl was crafted perfectly and had the Thai Curry and spices infused into the classic Japanese dish. I've had curry Ramen before, once actually in Japan, which was one of my Top 3 dishes there. But this was my first time having it with Thai Curry, which is different than any other curry. It's heavily coconut milk based, which makes it stand out in the best way. Add the Cilantro and bok choy, and you just have a wealth of flavor in an excellent fusion meal. Nori is worth several trips. To try more Ramen flavors, and more dishes period. Lastly, make sure to try their Thai Iced Tea. I order that at EVERY Thai restaurant I ever go to and this was up there with the best I've had. If you've never had it, it's a fresh brewed tea (similar to a classic lipton tea bag), ice, and a mix of either evaporated milk, half and half, and/or condensed milk. The food at Nori is absolutely fabulous. I love Thai food, so I ordered the Drunken Noodle with chicken. Diane decided to try the Ramen. I started the meal with a Miller Lite. The domestic beers were on special for 2 for $6.00. My Drunken Noodle arrived. The beer and the Thai food accompanied each other perfectly. The Drunken Noodle was beautifully sweet and perfectly cooked at medium spiciness as I ordered it. Thai food is my favorite cuisine in the world. I've tried the Drunken Noodle at many restaurants both here in Florida and back in Maryland where I used to live. This dish was equal or superior to any I've ever had! It was just spectacular! I tasted Diane's Ramen. It was a little under spiced, but with a little hot red pepper and soy sauce, it was terrific as well! The broth that was used in the Ramen dish was very tasty, sort of a milky color. I had a wonderful time at Nori. It has walls covered with mirrors. The restaurant was very clean with fantastically pungent smells wafting in from the kitchen. I loved every minute of the evening. I was trying to find a good Thai restaurant. I checked the reviews and Nori popped up. I'm surprised I've never been there before, since it's about ten minutes from my house. Nori is a fairly small restaurant. It's attractively decorated. They have indoor seating and a few chairs and tables set up outside in front of the restaurant. They specialize in sushi, Thai, and ramen. I ordered the tonkatsu ramen. I'm new to eating ramen so I don't have a lot of comparisons. I got a large bowl of broth with perfectly cooked noodles. The dish included pork, an egg, corn, and more. It was delicious. Clyde had Thai drunken noodles. I tasted his dish and it was very good. He really enjoyed it. Service was friendly and helpful. I just had to come and state where to find the second best ramen spot in Broward. Here you will find a good and very flavorful bowl of ramen that beats the ones near the area...hands down. I had the Spicy Miso Ramen and it was DELICIOUS. The only thing that I want to note is that this ramen has the Thai influences in both the broth and its ingredients. It may not be want you consider traditional Japanese flavor, but it is just as rich and hearty as their counterparts. Really happy that I can find the Thai version of Ramen here vs. going back to Thailand. I also had their fried rice and it was equally amazing. New to the area and needed a solid sushi spot in our food rotation. Tried a few trendy spots but the atmosphere always outweighed the food quality. Nori is a small restaurant but high quality. Hate sushi rolls w more rice than fish....rice bombs. Chef here knows how to balance the rolls. Service is great and friendly. This is a great spot, highly recommend. read more

Nori is the perfect local spot for authentic sushi and Thai. We visited and had a taste of both! We started with the crispy tataki. This was a unique appetizer that combines different textures to create a tasty dish. It is lightly fried and tuna is still raw in the middle. For the main course we had the panaang curry and a nori roll. The panaang curry was flavorful and authentic. The sauce was the perfect consistency, we added chicken to the curry and it tasted excellent. The nori roll is a slightly spicy roll and filled with yellowtail and light, fresh ingredients that we really loved. We will be back to try more of Nori's extensive menu! read more
