Dirty table and chair, w flies flying around.
Ambar B.

The place felt sticky and dirty. It was also hot, w flies buzzing around, even though it's almost the end of September. The food was so so, but seeing the filth around, made it unappetizing. The server was also rude.

Very good teriyaki, friendly staff, clean, quick service and generous portions at a very fair price.

Still my favorite teriyaki spot in Renton. When I'm craving it I'm usually ordering it from here. The taste of their chicken is always fresh. I don't know if it's my ocd self but I appreciate the fact that they cut their chicken in thinner pieces all uniform. Makes it more enjoyable for me to eat. Miso soup comes with the meal too! I feel like a lot of places don't do this anymore? Sauce is bomb, salad + dressing is also. The last several times I've ordered California rolls with my meals they were disappointing. The rolls were barely together and the ratio from rice to imitation crab were off. I think service is normal. I've only dined in a few times and always order to go. Inside looks like every other mom and pop teriyaki shop which I like. A good teriyaki place to try if you're in the area!

$17.99 for a Spider Roll that is burnt, 4 pieces that should be at least 6, no crab ends which is a major part of a spider roll. Absolutely terrible.

Rarely do I ever get teriyaki but I didn't want to cook and it's so close to a grocery store. Came in for a quick to-go order and got 3 chicken bento boxes. They are so fast that when I went to the store to get some groceries (10 minutes), the food was already packed. The reason why I rarely go to teriyaki places is that it's too charred for me and the sauce is way too sweet. They have a good variety though if you're not interested in teriyaki - stir fry, noodles, Chinese dishes, etc. the portions are plentiful and enough for the next day as well. The place seems clean and lots of take out while I was ordering.

Nope. Tempura prawns with their poop shoot still intact are disguising. I won't go full Karen and drive back and ask for a refund but this is definitely going straight into the garbage.

Spicy Chicken Teriyaki

We got spicy chicken teriyaki and shrimp yakisoba today and they were inedible. The chicken and shrimp were very overcooked and hard to swallow. The service was unfriendly and very pushy with tipping the chef before even getting the food. We ended up switching from dine in to take out.

I can't tell you how many times Nori Presto has save me on days that I'm not able to run to the store and prepare dinner due to late night work. We usually order a large kalbi, which comes with a side of salad and the large bento with chicken teriyaki and California rolls, it also comes with fried gyoza and side salad. The portions is really generous for what you're paying for. The staff here is really nice and kind, never disappoint. Pretty consistent, I will definitely come here and support this establishment and so should you, go check it out.

Takeout order of tempura veggies with some add on tempura shrimp. it was sooo crunchy without being super heavy on the oil.

Ordered takeout from here recently and was soooo happy with it. The udon had some veggies and tofu bits in it that went so well with the soft and savory broth. The tempura shrimp that came with the udon and my side order of tempura veggies were so crisp and not heavy on the oil or breading. The beef short ribs and beef teriyaki did have a bit more sauce than desired but the cook was perfect and the flavors were great.

This is teriyaki sauce "on the side".

We were one of two parties dining in on weekday lunch hour - there are many tables for dine in or the location is easy for takeout. It is very clean inside. Between 3 adults we shared the crispy rice appetizer w/tuna and a few rolls. It was plenty for all three of us and we left full. All of the food was fresh and delicious! The crispy rice was surprisingly not too greasy and you could share among 4 adults (if you split and each want a bite) or they are easy to consume before you know... While I enjoyed everything we ordered, my favorites were the H2 and Perfect Wave rolls. Took the chicken katsu curry to go and my husband inhaled it at home. Pricing is what you would expect for this area and was justified by the quality of food. Benny is very friendly and personable. He left a great impression with us for our first time dining in. We will definitely be back!

Salad was tasty, potato croquette was good and the salmon very fresh. It comes with a bowl of miso. Overall bento box portion was very big and we would order again in our future visits. The crispy rice appetizer topped with salmon was pretty delicious. Deep fried cube of rice topped with small chunks of salmon covered in light sauce. The Agedashi tofu was ok. I have had better elsewhere. It was very basic with deep fried soft tofu in tsuyu (soy sauce liked) sauce. The dragon roll was pretty tasty too. I would definitely return for a quite casual meal.

Started off strong with the uni shot, which was really good, and the sashimi fresh, clean, and exactly what you want from a sushi spot. We also ordered the mushroom and pumpkin salad with spinach, which tasted great, but at $20, it felt a bit overpriced for what it was. The rolls, unfortunately, didn't live up to how they looked. Presentation was definitely there, but the flavor just didn't hit. On top of that, they were falling apart pretty easily when picked up with chopsticks, which made them a little frustrating to eat. Service was solid overall staff was attentive despite how busy it was but they did miss our hamachi kama, which was a bit of a letdown. A couple things to note: this place is cash only, and it gets very busy, so expect a bit of a wait. That said, the vibe is nice, and the design of the space is something I actually liked. Would I come back? Probably for sashimi and appetizers but I might skip the rolls next time.

We…read moreoriginally thought Mexican fare, but seeing as we hadn't visited any Mexican restaurants in the five years we've been away from the Renton area, we finalized our choice to: Sushi Today. Besides, family was coming in at SeaTac and we recently moved back to the Renton/Kent/Tukwila area so with the use of GPS, they'd be able to find the restaurant. We met together at the same time. The restaurant has changed considerably. Previously the menu included Korean dishes, but with new management, Korean fare was removed from the menu, much to our surprise. The Kalbi/Bulgogi was excellent and we would order a Bento-style box meal which included the Korean specialties. Though somewhat disappointed, the new menu provided so many new sushi choices, we were distracted from the missing preparations. The Sushi/Sashimi platter was our first order, to give us more time to peruse the great looking menu. Our initial order arrived which appeared so enticing with the fresh (raw) portions of buttery salmon, tuna, Ahi, Nigiri and a California Roll. Excellent! Then came the Sweet Dreams & Sounder rolls and Ikura (2-pieces) and a Special Agent roll. Least I forget to mention Asahi bottled beer (regular & non-alcoholic) to round off the meal. Due to not having the Korean ingredients, only four stars this time. The ambiance of the restaurant seems to have changed over the years. There were perhaps 10-12 other diners whereas during our previous visits the restaurant would be crowded and bustling with a cacophony of voices discussing menu choices. It was 5:00PM on a Saturday evening and crowds were usually expected. Service was excellent, the waiter was patient and provided lots of information about the new ownership & menu. The sashimi was fresh & tasty and sushi rolls were expertly prepared. Sushi Today continues to be highly recommended if you're in the Renton area.

The place is very small which makes sense since he only serve 1 group at a time. This might be my personal opinion but Because it's only one group, I hoped it would have been a little more interactive, like the chef could have explained his technique and skills while we were waiting or at least let us see what he was doing. We sat at the bar table but it was blocked by a counter so we couldn't see anything and he didn't talk and we had to wait around 15 minutes for our first dish. Foodwise: 10 piece nigiri --- love the different fishes that was available and all of them has their own distinct texture and flavor. My husband who loves nigiri said it was a fun experience. Scallop inari - scallop was cream and soft and smooth, I think the sweetness was a little overpowering though. Seabass crudo --- for how little there was of the fish itself, there was a lot of olive oil and balsamic vinaigrette. After finishing the fish, I was hoping to have some bread to eat more of the oil. Special maguro don--- I love this dish - the fish melts in your mouth, the rice went well with the fish and the wasabi was delicious. Price was also very reasonable for the quality of fish. Overall, it was a good experience, I definitely would recommend
