My new favorite place! Yes just after one visit. This place is the real deal, by far the cleanest, friendliest teriyaki restaurant I have eaten! Big hello and smile from the proprietor explained the menu and we ended up with 2 chic teriyaki specials, a side order of gyoza and along with a couple of sodas. Patrons were lined up behind us and it was if the proprietor knew each of them by name, with friendly banter and salutations. First the gyoza arrives on a mini boat platter, the order was huge for the cost 8pc for $5.99. Had the dipping sauce in the bow of the boat, not a single use ramekin but an actual plate designed to showcase the dumpling and the sauce. Sorry ate too fast forgot to take a pic. Now for the entree. I will preface that when normally order teriyaki I have sauce on the side , because I do t want to rescue my drowning chicken pieces. I forgot to do that this time and when I remembered it was too late, she brings it to our table....wholly popsicle sticks, the plate was served and it looked like artwork. No drips, no smears, the sauce was light so you could see the chicken, the portion of rice v chicken was perfect and that cold crisp salad. It looked like art. Whoa! It was so insanely good! And the perfect portion. Best part is I am not taking home a pound of steamed rice. Instant love for this place. One tiny mishap, we ordered bottle sodas, and I am not an officianado of sodas, but I have consumed enough of the to know this one was off. Turns out it had expired a couple of weeks back, it was not completely turned but enough to notice. After we ate we went up to the owner and thanked her for a great lunch and explained about the soda, the bottle was empty but she insisted we grab another bottle. This is not your average neighborhood Teriyaki joint. We consider ourselves lucky to have such a reasonably priced and delicious Japanese restaurant that clearly cares about the freshness and quality of its food. I haven't ever had such fresh sushi in a bento box. The teriyaki is succulent. The fried rice is deliciously seasoned and has a generous amount of perfectly browned egg mixed in. Their portions are great. I wish they would package the sushi in a different container than the hot food with bento boxes because lukewarm sushi is a bit of a bummer, but it's not terribly important. Once, when we ordered, someone from the restaurant called to ask if we could substitute something they were out of. We really appreciate that. I cannot speak to the ambiance or the staff as we have only picked up food on the way home. read more

Let me just say, this restaurant is a lot nicer on the inside than most other teriyaki places. Everything is very clean & the menu is very easy to go through and see what you'd like to get. It was a pretty hot day out and the inside of the restaurant was pretty cool inside! The bathroom was very clean as well. I've been eating here for about 10 years. It's changed owners a few times. This new owner took over during Covid, she is one of the nicest, friendliest people I've ever met. I typically get the regular chicken teriyaki and when they took over, they lowered the price to 12.99. (For reference, McDonald's meal is about 12.99... "Yay! I'm a fan!" Definitely the perfect description for this place. You don't come to teriyaki places for high end food by any means, but this is one of the better ones I've tried in the area. The bento box has been my go-to.. very reasonably priced for a whole lot of food (entree choice, rice, california rolls, salad, shrimp tempura).. and I'm a sucker for variety! The hot crispy chicken and spicy chicken teriyaki has been our favorites so far. I'm reading a ton of reviews about service, and I guess I could understand where that's coming from. The owners are not the most sweet and bubbly people, but there's definitely a huge culture barrier. I don't think she intends to come off the way she does, and from the few times I've come here, it seems like she has a good group of regulars that she's warmed up to... maybe she just needs some time.
