Because I'm new to hydroponics, and…read moregardening in general, I like to ask a lot of questions and really browse everything so I can get a better understanding of how it all works. With out fail, I can predict the responses I get. Overall, it comes down to either disinterest, attitude, or feeling like I'm stupid. This is just about everywhere except Greenfire. It doesn't matter who is at the counter, as soon as I walk in, they greet me and make me feel welcome. Everyone is extremely helpful, and best of all there isn't any 'I'm better than you' type attitudes! I love going to Greenfire because I get so much from my visits. I actually feel more informed, and educated when I leave. The Greenfire staff take the time to talk with me and discuss how things work, or why this piece is better than that one. That type of customer service is rare and hugely appreciated. I've also found that Greenfire's prices are very reasonanle, and I'd say, most likely, the best in town. They have a customer loyalty card that gives increasingly higher discounts with each purchase, and once you reach the top tier, you're entered into a (I think) weekly drawing for prizes. Let's just say Greenfire is very liberal with the discounts, and even do what they can to make some higher cost items more reasonable. Bottom line...I can't recommend Greenfire enough. If you're into hydroponics, have questions, are just ciurious, or are completely knowledgable, Greenfire is where you want to get your hydro supplies. They have it all! Thanks guys, you are very much appreciated.

Well you can imagine my happiness while at a Yelp event in Oak Park I saw next door there was an amazing looking nursery-I just knew I would have to make a return visit-well when I finally had the time,we headed to The Plant Foundry located at 3500 Broadway in Oak Park. This place is so cute-I haven't been to a ton of nurseries as I've generally picked up my cactus plants at random spots like a midtown market or a Trader Joe's or as gifts from people but I will say this was one of the cuter nurseries I've been to. When we arrived I walked around a bit to check out what they had to offer-what was in season and wondering where the cactus plants were. I liked this little sign they had in the middle of their nursery which advised everyone what was in season and what should be planted at this time of year-for a newbie green thumb person like myself-information like that is very helpful. After walking around a bit I decided on the cutest little cactus to add to my collection at home and it cost me $7.99,so cheap and my daughter decided to get a snow peas plant($7.49). In closing-if you ever find yourself in the Oak Park area and want to check out the cutest little nursery-I would 100% recommend The Plant Foundry for all your gardening needs-they have a really awesome business running out there-I like em and will be back.

This nursery is on the smaller size and not as overwhelming as some of the others in the area, and all the plants we've picked up here have been happy and have been great additions to our garden. I like that we've found consistent seasonal offerings as well as have been surprised with some fun plants we haven't seen elsewhere. The store inside is also fun to browse with both garden accessories, as well as gifts, fun items, and local things that someone with an interest in gardening would also enjoy. The staff is friendly and helpful and there's even sometimes a cute and friendly cat that's wondering around to greet guests. A great spot to browse while visiting Oak Park and a great spot to pick up seasonal plants or more longterm additions to your garden.
