    Belgian Waffle Combo

We came here on a Saturday morning and the place had a steady stream of customers. We would say that this place is on the pricier places for breakfast around here and that the Yelp prices are not current. The staff here are friendly and it is clear that there are dedicated and consistent customers since folks seem to know each other here. We ordered the Belgian waffle combo with bacon, a latte, and the huevos rancheros. The Belgian waffle, bacon, and eggs were all very standard and there was nothing special to that dish. The huevos rancheros was a bit disappointing because of the advertised "homemade salsa" that came with it. Instead of it being homemade fresh salsa, the salsa was like diced tomatoes from a can with some onions thrown it. That was a huge disappointment for me. Additionally, the rice had little flavor to it. Overall, the food was basic, but the prices were a bit higher for the quality of food that we received. We would not be in a rush to come back for breakfast, but the lunch fare looks pretty good. But the diner is a cute one -- there are old records hanging throughout the restaurant and there's also a big patio, though it faces a very busy street.

Old school, no frills restaurant serving your classic American food. Orders: Chicken & Waffles $18 Crispy golden fried chicken & a fluffy waffle is a typical dish to order. Country Fried Steak Plate $19 Love how vegetables & a side is included with this country fried steak. San Francisco Burger $13 On a crisp buttered sourdough bread with grilled onions & Swiss cheese, the hamburger had no flavor so I had to rely on ketchup for flavor. A nice local breakfast spot that has fast service.

We had The Princess with us and wanted lunch. As we were driving down the street, I pulled into Norman's. Plenty of parking and outdoor seating is just what we needed. I grabbed a table and she went inside to grab menus. She was told that someone would be with us shortly. We waited quite few minutes before menus and set-ups were brought out. We ordered drinks and our server asked if we'd like a bowl of water for The Princess. Yes, please. I never stepped into the restaurant so I have no idea how busy it was inside, but the parking lot was not full, so I take that as a clue. Every now and then, I get a craving for Fish but not Chips. I asked and was offered Potato Salad as a substitute. Yes, I know that they're still potatoes, but preference is preference. She ordered Spaghetti and was very happy with her order. I'm knocking one star this visit because the service wasn't as we've become accustomed to here.

Traditional American breakfast fare - this is the place. Although I have been here several times, it didn't dawn on me that if I didn't know any better I would be in a Midwest diner. On this occasion I haven been craving for hot open face turkey sandwich. Believe it or not, this dish is rare only traditional diners or hot brau. The plating made the quantity of food small. A thick slice of bread topped with three good slices of turkey smothered with gravy along with smashed potatoes also smothered with gravy and a helping of cranberry jelly. The gravy helped. This dish reminded me of the infrequency I have it, no disrespect to this establishment. It was fine and satisfied my craving. I will be back for other breakfast fare. The service was fine and friendly.

Solid breakfast. I haven't been here in years and I was very pleased with my breakfast this morning. No frills just what you see (or read on the menu) is what you get. 4 pieces of French toast served with scrambled eggs and bacon. Everything tasted good and I had no complaints! Definitely left satisfied and happy with my meal and I will be coming back!

Stopped in on Sunday before Cal State commencement. Greeted and immediately seated. Nostalgic diner with LP vinyl records and album covers on the walls. Service was great even with a steady stream of customers. Ordered a low carb Benedict and pastrami sandwich. The sandwich bottom bread was too soggy to hold the sandwich.

Pleasant service but the food was beyond bland and pricey -- $17 for a tuna melt and $4 for tea.

Theres a big parking lot for the shopping center which also gets busy but you can find something. The interior is bright with plenty of windows and outdoor seating available. The menu has plenty to choose from. The breakfast options are really good but this last visit we chose the lunch options. The spare rib french dip looked like I'd need to hit a drive thru after but it turned out I couldnt even finish my plate! The fries and sandwich really hit the spot. My companion rushed their choice and got a loco moco which isnt necessarily what they wanted. No worries, you can probably pick an item with your eyes closed at random and still be pleased with your order. Cooked medium on the burger patty, they nailed the temperature. The fried egg was cooked exactly as ordered. You'd be surprised how even the simplest things can be looked over while dropping the ball. This wasnt the case, here. They hit all the marks and we even had food left over to enjoy in the middle of the night lol. The kimchi and chili sauce were major supplemental flavors. The waiters/waitresses are very nice and friendly. The only problem was, once our food arrived I didnt see my waiter again. Perhaps on their break? We had to bother another worker for our check and to-go boxes. This isnt always the case and I wont hold it against them but I mentioned it to give realistic expectations. Things happen and im a patient person. I definitely recommend this establishment and will be coming back soon.

Place is spacious, lively, dimly lit with music playing at a level you can have a conversation. Table ordered a steak sandwich with salad, cheese sandwich with tomato soup and a five-spice pork ragu over polenta. We all enjoyed our dishes. Food is 3.5-4/5 stars and would like to see a bit more to keep it interesting but know their kitchen setup is limited. No wine with this visit. Dessert: Orange brownie was simple with orange zest and the Hawaiian bread pudding was different and flavorful. Good to see the place bustling and look forward to future rotating pop up events. Got a chance to talk to the owner, Stacey as I recognized her from the Eats by E event the week prior. My bad, didn't know she was the owner of Cordial Cellar & Lounge but all good as she was super welcoming, friendly and was very accommodating when asked if we could pay for our own dishes separately. At the end of the evening perused the Olive & Finn Boutique and quickly welcomed by Jackie who was explaining items like the handmade jewelry and some hand stitched clothing. Such cute items and will visit another time. Recommend Cordial Cellar & Lounge for a date night, special group outing or relax and listen to some music. The Ken Seideman Jazz Trio plays the month of February. Great jazz!

The wait to order wasn't too long, maybe 15 minutes? While you wait, you pass by a display of cookies and they even have samples out for everyone to try. The staff was very nice, even though they were super busy! We tried: - Free chips & salsa: These are a must everytime I visit denica's. They are a great snack while you wait for your meal. 9/10 - The ube pancakes: These were pretty solid. I didn't think that the pancakes themselves had a very strong ube flavor, if any. I think all of the flavor was in the ube coconut sauce that they come with. However, there is only sauce on the first layer so you might want to get extra! It is an additional $2.75 or so to get the extra side of ube sauce, though. The pancakes themselves could have been a little more moist and fluffy, as they were a bit dry and dense. I loved the fruit and sauce, so that definitely made up for it! I'm glad that I got to try, but I don't think I'd get them again. Instead, I would get a regular pancake and a side of the ube coconut cream! 8/10 - The chorizo burrito: My bf said that this was also a pretty good option. He thought that it could have been a bit more flavorful, but was still satisfied with his meal! 7.5/10 - The side of hash browns: These were good, as to be expected! The portion was a bit small in comparison to other diners in the area. 7.5/10 Overall, I always enjoy my experiences at denica's!
