literally gave us thinned down ranchera cuts when the picture on the menu def did not match.

Quality has really gone down quite a bit. Food is good when it's what it's supposed to be. 1) This is not a 6oz sirloin steak. This is a piece of flank/asada ....really, REALLY disappointing especially given how most if not all of the menu prices have gone up. (see pictures) 2) My mom got a salad, the guy didn't ask her what dressing she wanted so I figured it would be mixed in the salad. After 15min of getting our order, I noticed her salad looked REALLY dry. I asked if there was dressing on it and she said "No.." and so I called the guy and he was all "it's mixed in, too light? too light? too light?" so I'm all "...it doesn't have any dressing but can you bring her a side of it then?" He comes back and says "Haha so I figured out why there's no dressing in your salad, they actually ran out soo...can I get you another type of dressing?" They didn't think to let us know beforehand? Maybe someone forgot because I'm sure they would not have that "eh, f it" attitude.

Met up with a buddy at our neighborhood Norms off Lakewood & Rose. Norms, founded in 1949, is 76 years old? and open 24/7. I like the calm, retro diner vibe, serving classic American comfort food--lots of families and elderly folks. I ordered the *Cali-Cado Benny*, an Eggs Benedict w/ toasted English muffins, poached eggs, hollandaise, bacon, avocado, grilled tomatoes, and green onions. It was lightly sweetened, rich, velvety, and smooth. It was good, but my hash browns were bland; I ate them anyway since my friend was treating me LOL. Service was wonderful, gratitude to Reuben. He was constantly checking on us.

Norm's is just your average breakfast place like IHOP in Denny's. They're all pretty much the same just different seasonings and somewhat of a different menu. I placed the order for pick up so I didn't have breakfast here, but it looked pretty packed. My order was fast and easy I pulled up. It was ready. I got it and I left to my daughter's house and had breakfast at her house.

Very good diner food. Service was very friendly and quick. The restaurant is super clean. Definitely recommend.

Even on a full lunch rush hour the service was incredibly kind and attentive. The food was good and juicy (evident from husband's remaining plate). Very busy during lunch on Monday but that's expected. The generic radio music is a nice touch of Americana to the decor that stays cozy and warm-hued, adding to the coziness. Our server was Kiwi and she was a real sweetheart that looked after us very thoroughly

My family and I decided to come on Xmas eve. It's was obviously packed but not to bad. Service was good. They we're fast and the portions we're big but can't say the food is to die for. Honestly it was basic and can't expect much. Overall it's a ok spot when you want to feed your family.

Everything was just great-- Great service by Damien, big shoutout to him for helping me decide on what dish to choose from. Great food! The clubhouse sandwich was just right & light! Definitely a good location to visit that provides quality service & food! (:

Be careful of getting a steak from norm's. It's called the porter house. Their steaks are very tough.

I don't know why would they close down some Denny's? They should close down Norms on Lakewood Boulevard in Bellflower. I will not tell you about my past experience anymore if you read my last comments, I still went inside and sat down. I have to be in bandit for not paying for nasty food unprofessionally cooked If you spend your money, you should be entitled to a good service. That's all I got to say.

    hightlighted are additional charges
    Richard V.

I was very angry with our server after getting the bill because it was 15 dollars more then I was planning for our meal. the reason was each order taken she asked if we wanted this or that with our meal thinking that was part of the original meal order we said yes but was never told it was an additional charge so a 65 dollar meal was now an 86 dollar meal. Susie was very nice and attentive but not telling us about the additional charges really makes me feel like a deceptive practice. I will not be going back here again

I been coming here for over 30 years. The food and Service fluctuates like a roller coaster. Some years are bad and some years are good. This visit I had was on Sunday 02.16.2025, right after church. I was greeted and Ordered a country style steak and a 1lb porter house steak. All came within 15 mins on a busy day. The porter house steak was delicious!! From the bread to the coffee, all tasted great. I will definitely come back again. Their customer service was excellent. Large portion size is back. Could not find anything negative about my visit. Plenty of parking in the back and across the street. A++ on my visit as current Status feedback.

Today I am eating at Norms for the third day day a row. Last two days I ate at the Lomita PCH location because I was attending Apartment Owners Association Convention at Long Beach Convention Center. This Lakewood and 91 Norms is super swamped at 10:30 am Thurs Aug 21. Every booth and table and counter has people in it stuffing themselves with pancakes and fries. Here is where Americans work on living up to their worldwide obese reputation. Today my friend Jessica is treating. I met Jessica at last year's Apartment Owners Association Convention at Long Beach Convention Center 2024. I ordered unusual Eggs Benedict menu creation Eggs Benedicto. $15.29. 2 crispy sope shells, chorizo, mixed cheese, 2 poached eggs topped with salsa verde, hollandaise, green onion and cilantro with pico de gallo. It took 45 min before I got my food served to me but my poached eggs were hard, when I asked for extra soft. So made them make me soft poached eggs, but that took another 20 min. Second time was perfect. My friend Jessica ordered the trout for $9.99. The trout was a bit fishy. The fillet was both sides of the trout and covered the entire plate, so fries and vegetable have to be piled on top of the fillets. In other words, Norms gives you the entire fish. I probably wouldn't order the trout in the future, due to fishiness. There are so many menu choices to pick from. The drink in the photo was ice coffee with salted caramel sauce. $4.39 My experience suffered from staff with too much to do on their hands, to get good service. Not their fault. They deserve a beefy tip for running around doing their best and management needs to hire more servers and cooks.

I've passed by Norms for most of my life ( I won't give away my age lol ) and I always say I'm going to go there one day and I finally made it! Me and the hubby came on a Saturday morning around 11:45. We found parking right on the side of the restaurant. We put our name in and it was about a 5-10 min wait which wasn't bad at all. It was pretty packed in there with families and couples young and old and even a family celebrating a birthday. Our waiter Jesse was pleasant and attentive with us as he took our order. I ordered a Green tea and the hubby had Coffee to drink. For food I ordered the Classic Bigger Better Breakfast w/ sourdough toast ( $15.49 ) and the hubby got the Country Fried Steak and Eggs ($17.79). Both are dishes were delicious and we had a little bit left over which we took home. I definitely will be coming back to norms and no it won't take me years to do so lol.

Our server was nice and she explained the menu. She also mentioned that they take their food seriously, and she was not kidding. I liked how they set up the menu because in a specific section (I think, or maybe it's all sections can't remember) you order one of the main dishes and it comes with a small plate already. I ordered the custard French toast with a side of eggs and bacon. The BACON! Normally when I order bacon at places it's not something I overly enjoy because often times it's too hard or too oily-- I swear this was the perfect piece of bacon I've ever had. My husband ordered the beef short rib hash and I've never seen him eat sweet potatoes ever in our many years together. If I remember correctly, he cleaned his bowl of food. He was a little late in adding the sauce, which he regrets, so if you order this don't forget to try it with the sauce in the beginning. Inside the restaurant has some pretty interesting art around Filipino culture. Some minor feedback being that as fellow Filipinos were dining at the restaurant- I didn't quite understand the Filipino art or how that tied into the theme or roots of the restaurant or its history and would've loved to know more on how that came about or the story behind the choice to have that theme. Nevertheless, everything was amazing.

The chilaquiles verde was savory and tangy. It wasn't soggy at all and definitely one of my favorite dishes. The short rib omelette was savory but didn't give me any wow factor compared to the other dishes I ordered. The tropical pancakes were so pretty. I only tried a piece of it without the syrup which I think was a mistake because the kumquat syrup was my friend's favorite. I definitely need to try it again with the syrup. Best for last, mango curd French toast was my favorite! I fell in love with sweetness and tanginess of the mango curd. The French toast was soft and you can taste the butter. Unfortunately, the reality falls noticeably short of that expectation. While the food itself is serviceable, it never rises beyond what you might expect from a standard at-home breakfast spread. Nothing on the table felt particularly memorable, inventive, or worth returning for. The biggest disappointment came in the details, but really lack thereof. The fruit served alongside the meal had the unmistakable appearance and texture of pre-packaged, bulk-distributed produce, lacking the freshness and vibrancy you would hope for from a restaurant positioning itself as a neighborhood kitchen. It gave more cafeteria than curated brunch. Service also struggled to meet even basic hospitality standards. Water refills required repeated attempts to get someone's attention, and neighboring tables were similarly left flagging down staff for utensils and tableware. Once the order was placed and food delivered, attentiveness seemed to disappear almost entirely. I'm not sure where the standard is set.. Given the location and atmosphere, there's an expectation of a more refined and welcoming experience, but the execution never quite supports the price point or reputation. If you do visit, avoid outdoor seating unless you're prepared for an even more disconnected service experience. Ultimately, there are far better places to spend your brunch budget. Especially when this is the kind of meal many could comfortably recreate at home with fresher ingredients and more care. If you're going to have competitive price points for these meals they should at least match.

The parking was pretty empty and there was no line, so why not? FYI there is overflow parking next door so do not fret if you can't find one in their little lot. The restaurant itself is like a cafe with pretty cool waitresses and bussers. There is a cute electric train that runs around the top ledge of the dining room which I thought was pretty cute. As for the food, I had the chorizo and eggs plate. It came with tortillas and refried beans. It was delicious and was simple but great. If needed, they have a soyrizo version too. Overall, pretty chill cafe and affordable. We will definitely be back.

Inside, the place is clean but definitely could use some updates - 6/10. Staff were very nice and friendly, though I wish coffee refills were automatic - 7/10. The food reminds me of home cooking. I really enjoyed their Mexican dishes but preferred the breakfast menu overall. The hobo omelet and breakfast potatoes had great flavor. However, the biscuits and gravy were disappointing, tasting like store-bought biscuits and canned gravy--probably from Costco or Sam's Club. Coffee was very good, but I wish someone would walk around constantly refilling cups. Overall, a decent spot with some room for improvement.
