You can get steak and eggs for $7.99 or steak, chicken strips, and fried shrimp for $13.99 (comes with soup, salad, and dessert...pretty awesome right?) if they're on special . Their steak is pretty meh. Not too juicy or flavorful. It's just a strip of new york steak so plan on using a lot of A1. When your consider how much you're paying for it, it's a pretty good deal. If you want safe picks, go with their breakfast food. Honestly, breakfast is almost impossible to mess up so you'll always have a solid experience. Get the Bigger Better Breakfast. Have always been a fan of Norms and miss the days I used to go in on a weekend and order the best huevos rancheros anywhere. Tonight I had a pretty bland chicken caesar salad but got full and fed two guest with me for under $40 You will have to try the steaks or filet fig non specials they are running. Good food. I don't get the point of the military discount being contingent on being in uniform. Military personnel DONT want to target themselves by being in uniform off base or off post. Well, seems like army likes to show off their uniform, but nevertheless, why would we want to stand out and make ourselves a target? When the wait staff never asks you how your meal is, you know you're in trouble. They were nice enough, but they obviously know the food is subpar so why bother asking? Though they were friendly, service wasn't especially good: they never asked if I'd like a refill on my drink. Oh well, live and learn. We moved out of state 15 years ago. I remember Norms as a reasonably priced restaurant with decent food. We are visiting and decided to eat at Norms. I was much disappointed. The food is not as good nor as inexpensive as I think I remember. That's a shame. I may never return. read more

We chose Norm's for dessert because most restaurants were closed after the concert, last Tuesday. The server, although very nice, was not fluent in English and resorted to pointing and making gestures to explain himself. They were out of nut topping for our hot fudge sundae, the brownie was burnt on the brownie sundae, and they were out of cheesecake. We ended up having hot fudge sundaes without nuts but paying full price. This is unacceptable. I'd advise you to stay away. read more

The prices are a little high, but there is always specials and the Food is always Good and Lots. The servers are for the most part efficient and nice. I'd like to give only 2 ** stars for their iced tea though, the menu says Fresh brewed, but the taste of it makes me question when it was brewed, surely not daily. Bottom line....SERVICE SUCKS! And they are open 24 hours a day and then customers are told they don't have enough staff. In addition, the restaurant was filthy and tables were not getting bussed so they could sit more people, EVERY employee and I mean EVERYONE walked by like it wasn't their job. read more

more like 3.5/5 stars whenever i see a claw game in the entrance of my restaurant, i know its not going to be good. i got the bigger better breakfast. I was born in LA but spent most of my young life growing up in Orange County. I remember the lazy days of summer riding my bike through the orange groves and hanging out in a quiet surf town called Laguna Beach. Well those times are gone. The groves have made way to track homes and Laguna Beach I guess is now called The Hills. I used to spend alot of time at Disneyland and now that I live so close to Disney world I have come to the conclusion that the Orlando version just lacks the feel of the original. Am I the only one? Since my dad lives in Anaheim Hills no visit would be complete without spending alot of quality time with my dear ol dad. Since we are all foodies we are always looking for something new but one place has always been our breakfast spot. That place is Norm's Restaurant on Katella. If you like bacon, eggs, toast, pancakes, coffee, and omelette's done old school, than this is your place. When I was a boy my family had to watch every dollar. Every now and then we would go out to eat and Norm's wasn't just affordable it was also very tasty. So here I am a dad now taking my own family to breakfast, how surreal it is to pick up the check for my own father. I wish we could spend more days like this. I am happy to report that despite all the changes in the area you can still get a great breakfast, good service, and great value at good ol Norm's. Came into Norms for breakfast this morning, stood there right in front of 2 greeters. The first one totally ignored us completely! She saw us, asked how many. We said two, she then walked away.... so.... we stood there again waiting. Up comes "Adriana" she asked "How many?" We again say "Two" Then like as is we weren't there she proceeds to become extremely busy shuffling the menus Playing with paperwork at the podium and Time goes by... When I say "Excuse me". And the lady behind us shakes her head, Adriana looks up but continued to shuffle her menus. Again I say "excuse me!" Nothing.... I guess we suddenly became invisible!!! We were ready to turn and leave when she finally again asked "Two" We again say "yes". She again shuffles, grabs two menus and says this way.... Did she think we were going to multiply in front of her eyes? More than likely, she wasn't paying attention to us from the get go... This woman should not be working with the public! Nothing bad to say. Customer service was great and food was even better. Prices are really really good also. Had the 7.99 steak and eggs which was delicious! One of the best tasting steak I have eaten. Usually I would have to add Tapatio to my steak so I can enjoy it more, but I didn't have to add any and it was delicious already. For 7.99, portion was huge (couldn't even finish pancakes). Boyfriend had the lumberjack and he sakd it was also delicious. Very attentive, great food. I love norms and their amazing deals! I have to say though your employees should be mindful not only of what are they speaking about at work but what they are saying in a family environment. There is no real wall dividing workers from customers, merely sort of an island if you will. I heard a co worker talking (well rather yelling) to my server about her bf and how he gives her the best sex she's ever had and his endurance is incredible and so on and so forth. Does she not hear how loud she or does no one want to let her know everyone can hear her?! I was in the middle of the restaurant and could easily hear her without even wanting to listen. I've always loved coming here but the last two times eating there the food was horrible! I was given a steak that was greenish purple tint that was obviously meat that was bad. Have been to a few Norms and will continue to come to them because it has that small diner feel compared to IHOP or Denny's. Happy we got that out of the way now to the review, I got the club and it wasn't bad. Surprisingly I usually get breakfast at those other diners but here I get Lunch I know, weird right? The service was ok this time at this location I have had some great service at these places and am a little surprised by the service that day, everything from the hostess to the waiter. I will try this place again and if the service does change then I will update the review but if not might have to still update it and bring down the stars. Never had any issues here. Typical diner. They have some pretty good deals like the breakfast steak and eggs (and pancake deal). Sometimes their salads can be abit drenched in dressing so you may want to ask for the dressing on the side. I usually order chicken strips and they're usually not bad at all. Norm used to be my boyfriend. He was always around. I ran to him to celebrate achievements and commiserate with friends at failures. I even saw him when I didn't want to cook because my dog was sick. Now, I've been stood up. I can't predict when I need him, it's always spontaneous. He used to be there 24/7. Now, twice, in about a month, I ran to him at about 9PM, and another woman has chased me away, saying, "Sorry, we're closed. "We have to do a deep cleaning". What?
