She is friendly, makes us feel like we are in her home. She always serves with a smile and returns to our table at least 4 times during our meal to see if we need anything else. Norms is always a great place to eat, sometimes the food is so-so, sometimes it hits: it usually depends on what you're ordering. My last visit to Norms on Katella in Orange was great though, the Bigger Better Breakfast was good, as always, and my server, Marco, was fantastic. I had a couple of special requests and he wrote them down and brought them the first time. Coffee refills were always spot on. He helped clear plates as I was finished, something not every server does. He handled multiple tables just as well; I was in a spot where I could observe as I ate. As a former server, I recognize good ones, and Marco was fantastic. Five stars for this trip. (I gave Norms a 4 star rating because of their awful marinara and inability to make steak or a baked potato correctly, in my experience.) Still a great place to go though! read more

For the most part the food is good and tasty here at Norms. We had Tbone steak and eggs for dinner and it was good. We usually go on Thursday or Fridays because we have a favorite server on those evenings. That being said we went on a Monday and had a nice server named Deisy. Norms is always so nostalgic to me, as I used to come here when I was a kid too. And to this day, it still has its old school diner vibes. Came here today for breakfast and their food is as I remembered it to be - hot, yummy, and homey vibes. I had their special of the day which was an omelette, pancakes, and hashbrowns, which as a perfect portion to split if you're not too hungry 9/10. Our server, Jackie, was top notch. I've been to the plaza that this restaurant is situated in multiple times but never actually went in. After receiving some advertisement for it in the mail, I figured this was God's way of placing His hand on my shoulder, nodding, and saying "now's the time." So of course I went on a Sunday! The place was sparse and felt like I just walked in as it opened (it was in the afternoon), but that also meant we got seated right away. It's decorated like every other major diner-like franchise you've ever known, so it needs no more description. Our servers were pleasant and was more than accommodating to my requests to remove bacon from my Bigger Better Breakfast Burrito combo. I also shared the Strawberry Hotcake. Order came out very quickly. The burrito itself was decent, though not necessarily memorable. It came with a small side of chips and salsa. Not sure if I'd order it again as their breakfast menu is extensive enough for me to get something else entirely different. Hotcake was good, though! Very sweet and soft. I packed some of it for leftovers and it was still solid. The advertisement came with a 20% keep and reuse coupon until it expired, but I realized too late the person at the register didn't give it back. I guess that's God's way of telling me that I've had enough discounts for the meantime. Oh well. read more

Alma is the new manager, and wow, there's been significant positive changes to this Norms location! Our waitress Jacqueline, is very attentive toward each table. There were a few hiccups, but overall a pleasant meal. Would like to note that there were stains or dried food on my silverware. (See Pic) In addition, when the other customers, in the booth next to us got up, we noticed an unpleasant odor. Yay, the food finally arrives and it looks delicious ! Friend says the food is tasting wicked good. (See Vid.) Best Part: Only 14 dollars and 99 cents baby back ribs, half rack of tender meat. The meal went beyond my expectations, quite good surprisingly ! (and it passed my how does it taste the next day reheated test too) Would also like to mention that they make very good sauces themselves too. - As well as the dressings for the salad. Norms never disappoints. Ordered a club sandwich with fries and a side salad. Everyone was fresh and perfectly cooked. Located on E. Katella Ave near N. Tustin St. with plenty of parking. We stopped here on Saturday afternoon for a late breakfast. We were seated immediately by a friendly hostess. I had their 'Lumberjack Breakfast', which consists of 3 eggs, 3 bacon strips, 3 sausage links, hashbrowns, and 3 pancakes. I topped my pancakes with strawberries. Food tasted delicious and fresh. My husband and I have been coming to norms for years but we just came back here over the weekend and had an absolutely horrible experience. We all ordered different things and everything was gross. My kids got a Belgium waffle and pancakes and the batter was old and tasted so gross. My husband got scrambled eggs and the eggs were cooked in the same pan as someone's omelette and it contained other food in his eggs. No one could even eat their food. I stopped by with my daughter this afternoon for lunch at the Orange, CA location and I wasn't very impressed. I got the 1/2 pound ny steak medium rare, with over hard eggs and regular hashed browns and a side of mashed potatoes and gravy for my daughter. It was about noon time, and the steak was soso at best, was cooked medium well instead of medium rare, didn't seem like it was seasoned. The hashed browns were old, the eggs were more like scrambled than over hard. and the mashed potatoes and gravy tasted weird. almost like it was cooked in an old pot. the pancakes were kinda tasteless? The servers were awesome, service was quick and fairly attentive. All in all I won't be returning to this location. read more

It was a good experience for our first time at any Norms restaurants. We showed up on a Friday around 10 am. A few parking spots available, we thought the restaurant was really busy, but it really wasn't. The restaurant look clean and well lit, not too noisy inside, but the bathrooms could definitely use a bit more attention (a bit dirty, and it smelled really bad) We waited about 3 minutes before we were taken to our table. The restaurant was not too busy. Our food did take about 20 minutes to come out (maybe because it four of us, who knows). Our waitress was very kind, polite, and friendly. She took our orders quickly, and she was always attentive with our table. Our food came out great, it was accurate, it was tasty, and it was a good quantity for the price. We ordered the California Omelette x 2, and we an order of the chilaquiles. The three plates had very good flavor. Will try again in the future! read more

The waitress wasn't very friendly and had poor service experience. There was a misunderstanding on one of our orders and instead of trying to fix it right away, started to argue how the customer ordered it wrong then, putting one of the guests down and talking poorly about her as if she couldn't hear her. I told her it must be a misunderstanding. The waitress also wasn't very attentive. She not only didn't refill drinks, check on us, nor ask if we needed anything else or sauces with our orders. The place wasn't busy at all and she only had 3 tables to attend to at the time so it was very weird to have a seasoned waitress not do things she should have known to do years ago: repeating back orders, refilling drinks, checking on customers, picking up dirty dishes, bringing napkins and sauces without having to be asked to do so by the customers. A little more waitress training is needed at this location. She forgot lemons, napkins, sauces, etc and we had to ask numerous times for them. Also the store said they didn't offer honey ham sandwiches even though it's on the menu and the salads don't come with croutons or Parmesan cheese even though the picture states it does. The menu should be updated to what is actually offered in that location. Lowering the music could also help the waitress hear the orders better and limit mistakes. read more
