My Ford Focus has been at North County Ford service department for a week and a half. They had to order a part and that took three days. They told me I could come and pick it up before the part was delivered and then bring it back, but I didn't want to have to bring it back. But I called on Monday to see if my car would be ready and they told me my car would be ready that day. But I never got another call. I called again on Tuesday, today, and was told my car would be ready today. But I never got another call. I have had many cars but have never had the kind of poor service that I've had at North County Ford. When I took my Chevrolet in, it was always ready the same day. If it needed a part they would get a part. When I took my Honda in, it was always ready the same day. If it needed a part, they would go get a part. The communication at North County Ford is terrible. If my car is not going to be ready, after being told it would be, they should at least call and tell me it won't be ready. Had my truck serviced a few weeks ago (12/28) with a request for an oil change and brake check to diagnose a squeaking issue. The brakes were not addressed at all, despite a request made during online booking and with the service gentlemen during drop-off. At the time of pick-up, the service gentlemen (different from the guy at drop-off) was completely unaware about my service request and he offered a bogus reason as to why the brakes were squeaking. He then offered to keep the vehicle for an additional 2 days to further inspect the issue. I declined, I use my vehicle daily and said that I would schedule an appointment to have the brakes checked at another time. I booked an appointment on Saturday (1/20), made the same brake check request and upon arrival, I was told that no technicians were available to diagnose the issue, and that only the lube guys were around. Why on earth was I able to schedule an appointment for a service that is unavailable on weekends? He recommended that I return during the weekday for inspection. A complete waste of time! I really don't have the time to return a 3rd time....especially to this Ford service center. I left a message with the general manager and of course, there has been no attempt to call me back. I've had my 2021 Bronco Sport Outer Banks in the service department for over a month now. Paid $1,000 to make the problem worse than when I originally took it in for repairs. It seems to be a software issue that Ford is trying to figure out that is causing a small fan to continuously fun, causing the battery to fail. The biggest issue I am having is their lack of responding to my calls to get updates. Whomever is running the service department needs a lesson in customer service. Got a quote for a brake job on my Expedition from a shop in Encinitas because who's dumb enough to pay dealership prices? Shop quoted me $750 for front and rear brakes. I remembered I had a recall for my rear camera so I called No. Co. Ford and had them quote me too so I could maybe get the brakes and recall done at the same time despite knowing the dealership would charge me more for the brakes. No. Co. Ford came in $100 cheaper on the quote! When I went to pay, my service advisor Jim Goodine and technician Victor, told me I had 72% left on my front pads. My 78-year-old father took his 2013 Ford Fusion to the service department for an oil change and vehicle checkup the day before heading from San Diego to Oakland for an Easter road trip (4/1). Seemingly the experience was good; but for a total wait time of 2 hours and 24 minutes. The service advisor, Kevin Galaviz, was very kind considering the long wait and offered the complete service complimentary. Great, right? Not quite, and lets keep in mind the North County Ford promise "YOU CAN COUNT ON US!" My elderly parents left for the long drive early the next morning (4/2). About 5 hours into the drive, coming down a grade the brake pedal hit the floor, no brakes! Fortunately, my father was able to safely get the vehicle off interstate 5 and call AAA. They called me next and believe me I was very concerned. The Ford Fusion was towed to Los Banos, A & A All Pro Auto Repair with an additional mileage charge of $90 due to their remote breakdown. They had to leave the car there and have my sister leave work to drive an 1hr 30min one way to pick them up. Another round trip was made to pick-up the vehicle from the repair shop. The service station found the left front brake hose had failed. $220.45 repair and they were on the road by Monday; I made sure my Dad kept the parts for Ford. On Tuesday (4/6), both parents went to the Ford dealership and waited oven ONE HOUR to talk to the service manager Shawn about their ordeal. In their opinion, the manager was dismissive without time to deal with them. He said " a rock broke the brake line" and said its not Ford's problem. Look at the photo and tell me a rock hit that brake line then ask yourself if that were likely Ford would have a recall, right? Fast answer is not the right answer Shawn. Upon word of this I picked up the receipts, brake hose and Ford Fusion the following day (4/7) to find out what could be done. Also, I photographed new oil leaks on their driveway that appeared after their Ford service appointment 4/1, under their front left brake assembly. The service department was busy and it took about 15 minutes to speak with the service advisor Kevin Galaviz (nice guy). I inquired about the "YBK brake measurement" indicated on the invoice and check-up sheet. How did Jaime Aldrete Lic#3995 check the brakes? Did he remove the caliper for a precise 3-5mm measurement, possibly rupturing the brake hose if he dropped it? They could not say, but had me wait for Shawn - "The Service Manager" About a half hour later I asked, how much longer? "he's very busy" which looked to me like an open door meeting with a female employee and sounded like useless banter. Customers first right? wrong! I grabbed my receipts and brake line and left my number to "schedule a appointment" Well, I was called back and guess what I'm scheduled to see Shawn at 9am on Tuesday (4/13) six days later. Lets see how dismissive the service manager is when he's not dealing with a senior citizen with Parkinsons! Buckle up North County Ford let's see if we can "Count on You!" On another note: I take both my vehicles to other service departments with great customer service and quality mechanical work I can trust: Carlsbad Toyota for the Toyota Prius and Quality Chevrolet for the Chevy Tahoe. My 78 year old father always told me that it might cost a little more at the dealership but you get genuine parts that are backed by the cars manufacturer. He's a Ford guy, his father drove tractor trailers full of Fords his whole life. Guess each dealership is only as good as the management. See you Tuesday! If I could give a zero star rating, I would. This place is the stereotypical sleazy car dealership with dishonest salespeople and completely idiotic management. Our initial salesman knew nothing about the motor, transmission, or warranty. He then left abruptly after we sat down and handed us off to Jesus - who deliberately and dishonestly added in the overpriced and unnecessary dealership add-ons for a total of $8000 after we told him twice we didn't want them. Our trade-in was handheld by a third party stranger who didn't even work for the dealership! Without us ever meeting a sales manager, this "guy" plunks down and lowballs us by $7000 on the trade. Again - WE HADN'T EVEN MET A SALES MANAGER YET AND WERE ALREADY SUBJECT TO TWO SLEAZY PEOPLE WHO WERE CLEARLY TRYING TO FLEECE US. Nobody from their sales management office came to greet us either of the two days we came in. We left. Take a look around the lot and nobody is at this dealership - it was empty both days we were there. That should tell you how bad they are. This is regarding a salesman Jesus in particular. I inquired about a Ford Bronco that they had online. Jesus reached out and he made it sound like they wanted to make a deal. However they weren't able to take the add ons off and honor the Z Plan. Which I accepted that. So I decided to go elsewhere. By the time I got there, they sold the model that I wanted. No big deal. The order bank opens later this month. This way I can get no add ons and have my Z Plan honored. However today. Jesus reached out today and proceeded to see if I was still interested. I told him about the other Ford dealership and starts being condescending sending me pictures of the other dealerships Broncos they have listed. Instead of trying to make a deal, he just continues to be condescending without letting me know if he can meet my demands. When I buy a car. I like to know the facts up front. I tell them up front that I have my pre approval and my Z plan pin so I don't waste any of their or my own time. Don't tell me we can make a deal if I come in. Just tell me now if we can. For this I do not recommend wasting your time with Jesus as he likes to play games and talk about how he's been in the business for 15 years. One week for a diagnostic... that the oil filter was loose. I'm going to take this opportunity to learn how to properly work on my car so I don't have to deal with this again. They still charged me full price for the diagnostic and oil change. I can appreciate the discount on the service I never should have been charged for to try to make it right, but they never once answered the phone when I tried to get updates. Days with nothing. I received one call on day 4 where the person made more false promises. There was one email as well assuring me they would start work on day 2. Otherwise, even with a car salesman hand delivering a note (twice!) they still did not call me back. On the afternoon of day 3 I literally got a ride to the dealership to check in because it was impossible to get a response. I mean... what else could I have done? Seriously? What else?? Carrier pigeon??? Finally on day 6 they started texting me. They did not give me an estimate aside from the "$195" that is "standard" for all items and "don't worry it won't cost that much". Do not fall for this ploy as they use it to stick you with the final bill no matter how incorrect the total labor time is. This is where it gets fun. Every other person there when I was picking up my car was beyond frustrated and, frankly, confused. One guy waited weeks for a battery diagnostic. An elderly gentleman was also being charged $200 for a key that they couldn't even make! Btw they charge almost $500 for a key copy for a newer keyless entry key. Take it to a locksmith and save yourself the time, stress and money. There was one gentleman in the service dept. who particularly seemed to care, but he was powerless to help in such a mess of an organization. I felt bad for him. He and the person who convinced the manager to give me a discount are the only reason I gave 2 stars. I was honest with them the entire time about how the service was going. One thing is for sure, they need a new phone system yesterday. It never reaches a human and the messages don't seem to get through. Got a great deal on a brand new Ford Ranger but sure enough like other reviews they slipped $5k in extras into the deal. When you ask "Is this included in the price?" and they answer "Yes it's included in the payment." they are adding it to your negotiated price for the vehicle. So suddenly you question why the payment is so high given the great deal on the car. Thankfully we caught it in the itemized sheet and had to threaten to walk out and head over to Carlsbad or Encinitas to get them removed (Starlink and the extended warranty). 2 stars only because of the great deal on the base price and great financing. 0 stars for unprofessional sales practices. I had a horrible experience taking my wife's car in for service here. I had originally scheduled it for an oil change and a factory recall, however a couple days before bringing our car in, the car started beeping to indicate low battery. When I went to replace the batter the car would no longer start or register the key. When I took the car in they said that the keys were no longer able to be reprogrammed and that I needed to replace the key fob that is imperative for the the car to run. Furthermore, we paid for the car to be washed and when we got it back the top light had grease marks and was broken and the light assembly was broken on the bottom and the light switch was pushed in. Avoid this dealership at all costs. This was the worst service experience I've ever had. read more

I took the Ford F150 Lariat to Ford and you checked me in it was very rushed and you told me that the $480.00 Ford charged for I thought the price was grotesque because the most I have paid for this service at Hoehn Motors is $160.00 when I came home and went online to check the prices for Ford dealerships diagnostic was $88.00 to $111.00 in 2023 even if in 2024 it doubled at $111.00 the cost would have still been $222.00. YOU told me and most all places deduct the cost of the diagnostic service to the fee of the repairs. NOT SO!!!! When I got home and I got a text from Ford I opened the link to scroll down and it all automatically clicked to "APROVED" on all the 7 or so items that need repair. Which I never approved. I tried to cancel or remove the items of approval but it was locked into "approved." At this point I went online and checked to see how much an ABS module cost and found the cost to be from $773.00 to $1,100 even if you double the labor it would have been in the ballpark of less than $2,000 to replace the ABS module. The computer-generated charged about $3,300 plus the $480.00 for the diagnostic to replace the ABS module. At this point I was PO!!! I went to the Ford Dealership the following day at 7:00 am right when they opened and picked up the truck. I did not have a problem with the other items needing attention but almost $4,000 to replace the ABS module was too grotesque for me. I felt it was a scam and your customer service was not great. read more

This is currently the closest service center for our Fords and it's VERY busy here. I've found my car has been there at least 3 days for service, and if you want updates you have to call repeatedly to get updates or even to find out your car has been ready for pickup. With a toddler I've really found it difficult to navigate at times trying to plan my time so I can keep on schedule for pickups. They have done ok work. I took my car in for a recall safety issue and they didn't take the photos they needed to close my ticket and I had to drive back. They've been fine enough for repairs and honored our extended warranty on our used car. It's fine. But be prepared for a long wait and having to really push to get information with them. They could use more office staff to alleviate the communication issues for sure. read more

I would not recommend this dealership or the service department. I have been dealing Jerman in the service department since the beginning of November my car needed repairs. I was called once by them in the two weeks that my car was in their care. I was the one making the phone calls. I got my car back on 14 November, I was told I was going to get a reimbursement for my Rent-A-Car here. We are coming to a month and a half wait I have called I have texted and all I get is I will find out what seems to be the holdup and get back to you by the end of day. Nobody ever calls me so this dealership has a lot of false advertisement and their customer service sucks. I work with the public and when I tell somebody, I am going to call them back by the end of day I do that if not, I call the very next morning never go with Ford. read more

I have purchased 4 vehicles from this dealer over the last 6 yrs. two ford-150's and two Toyota Camry's. A little over $100,000 worth of business. Until today, the only complaint I would have would be with the sales side of the business. The service side has, until recently, always been the shining light of this car lot. We take our cars exclusively to North County Ford for service. Today, Jeff told me that they would be "phasing out" servicing our two Toyota's as a matter of practice. Vehicles we purchased from North County Ford. He made it perfectly clear that it's just too much trouble to service cars, that they sell, that aren't Ford's. North County Ford has made a decision that they only want the buying relationship to begin and end at the signing of the sales contract. Jeff was clear they don't want any further business past the sale. I, for one, will be happy to give them what they are asking for. I bought a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport here and it was the worst possible experience I could have imagined buying a car. I signed everything and they took my trade in on an agreed amount, I drove home that night and they had my trade listed for sale on their website almost instantly the following day. Fast forward 2 weeks and I notice my finance company on my trade still hasn't been paid off and has an upcoming payment. I reached out to North County Ford and was told everything is fine and they probably haven't processed the payoff. Now fast forward a month from purchase date and my finance company on my trade still hasn't been paid off and my payment is overdue, I reach out to North County Ford again and I'm told a signature was missing from the finance documents and I needed to drive all the way to them from San Diego to sign in order for the deal to be processed. I got there the next day and provided the final signatures. It's now been 2 weeks since I signed for the 2nd time and a month and a half since purchased the car and my finance company on my trade still hasn't been paid and I've yet to receive anything from my new finance company either. Both times, the car salesmen have completely invalidated (and LAUGHED at) my responses when they ask what I'm in the market for, then going on to tell me why I should look at another make, model, price range, etc.. This review is for Jim Goodine in the service department! He did an amazing job in making sure I knew everything that was happening with my car and being as transparent as possible. I needed to come in with my car to replace the battery. I called last week or so and they said that it would be around $300 overall (including parts and labor). Still thinking that was a lot, I still came in to see what the people at the Ford would say. The first person that spoke to us, I asked if it would be around $300 and he says yes. He immediately quotes me at $300. So I ask for a breakdown because there is no specifics on the exact price of the battery or labor just the exact number I gave him five seconds before. That guy goes to the parts department or figure out the price. Then Jim comes up because we're still at the desk and tries to help us out as much as possible. The guy didn't insert certain information on the screen so Jim is trying to give us his best quote and explaining things to us. It is obvious he is trying to get our car into the shop asap instead of wasting time. He tells us the part and labor would only be around $215 and he actually does the work on the cars. Then the original guy comes back and tells us that it would come out to $245 + tax, so obviously less than he quoted me originally. We sign the paperwork and head out the door, but Jim follows us and tells us in person outside that the labor cost will be closer to what he told us. It was really reassuring and we even paid less than $200 overall including labor and costs. I have a hybrid car so I knew it was going to be more expensive but I was extremely grateful to have Jim there and supporting us throughout. read more
