Odds are if you're on Yelp looking for reviews of pet sitters, you'd probably like how Lori handles client communication. Before I went out of town, I googled "Pet sitting Richardson" and she came up. I contacted her through her e-mail on the site and got a response the next morning. I submitted a few forms online (pet names, meds, vet, etc.), sent her my address, and she shows up. My point is that we didn't play phone tag for days. If you're trying to leave town, spending all day on the phone doesn't work, but Lori is great about arranging everything online. Oh yeah, this is supposed to be about her pet sitting. Before I leave she comes over and introduces herself . . . to my cats. I thought that was funny. She hangs out for a few minutes, figures out where everything is, learns a little bit about each cat, takes a key and agrees to come by when I'm gone. That's pretty much all there is to it. While I'm gone she e-mails me updates about each visit. Pet sitting for cats is rather straight-forward: "Cleaned litter box. Filled bowl. Petted them when they walked by. Then they slept again." But I think updates would be relevant for someone with elderly pets who needed meds, or for pets who needed keep vet appointments. I can see where daily updates on a high-maintenance dog would be important. FWIW, she has a huge SUV, so if she had to take you 200lb Mastif to the vet, she could. When I got back, cats were still alive, had full food bowls and clean litter. So, she covered all three elements of cat sitting. She left the key under the mat (which I suggested) and a few days later she e-mailed me a reasonable bill with the price she quoted. I now know all I need to do is e-mail her the dates I'm gone and ask her to come by Day 1, 2, 3, etc and my cats will be taken care of as well as if I were at home.

I was over the moon happy with how well my cats and home were cared for. The sitter texted us with updates each visit and they paid very close attention to what would seem to most to be inconsequential details. We returned to happy, non-traumatized cats after a long weekend trip. They even took out the recycling and trash when they left. Very impressed. I was floored the day after we returned when the sitter texted me to see how my sick boy Maxie was doing. She really truly cared about his health. My younger cat is a land shark and my older cat requires meds 2x a day as well as a supplement. I decided to book a sitter to come out from here and I couldn't have been more happy and at ease while out of town. They use a portal which makes everything a breeze once set up. It's easy to schedule times and put in pet information. The sitter comes out for a quick consultation so you also know who will be in your home plus give them any extra guidance. When the sitter comes while you're gone they leave a journal with notes as well as taking a photo of your pets so you know they're well taken care of. I never worried once that my older cat would receive his medicine because I always had the update and photos. This was the best part. The sitter also waters plants, grabs mail and takes out the trash and change lights which is an added bonus. The one thing I would of liked would have been a way to get in touch with the sitter directly. My cat bit my sitter, and I was able to communicate on the portal but there was a delay in response. So I had to wait to hear what the drs said and how bad it was etc because I had to go through the main line, which someone doesnt always answer. It would be nice to be able to text the sitter and follow up so I wasn't stressing it was worse than it was for a day. Other than that though, wouldn't change a thing! The cost is really reasonable for what you get and the peace of mind is priceless. You can rest assured your pets will be in great hands. Look forward to using the service again in the future!

After doing a TON of research we decided to use Personable Pet Care and are we ECSTATIC we did!!! First Julie, the manager, was great at answering all the questions my fiancé had which is no easy task as she had tons of questions. She let us know our options and did a great job letting us know what would be our best option for our 6 day trip and was always quick to respond to any questions we had. She left us comfortable enough that we agreed to allow them to come out for the consultation to go over all the paperwork and make sure the sitter was comfortable with our dogs and left us at ease about the service. Our consultation is when we met the pet sitter, Lacey, who would be looking after our dogs and home. She beyond impressed us as she was thorough and took the time to explain everything and asked a lot of good questions to make sure she provided the best care. She even took notes of all our concerns and special request request ( Opening blinds, switching lights, turning on tv, opening bedroom door for dogs and etc). Once we actually departed and we left our dogs which we felt was going to be overwhelming and stressful is when we were put at ultimate ease. The communication was outstanding and we heard from Lacey consistently and received tons of pictures of our fur babies. Seeing how well they adapted to her and she kept us up to date was outstanding. We will definitely start using her and the service for regular walks and now are at ease about traveling knowing that we have Julie, Lacey and Personable Pet Care looking after our babies!!!!
