I told a friend we could order lunch. My treat. She picked North End. Well I do not like their pizza so I said I'm going to try their subs. North End your subs need help. The sub rolls were cold, like you pulled the bread from the freezer and no flavor. It was cold tough bread. Change your bread and toast them or something. Then the Italian sub was blah. SUBWAY is better. Just to say they poured oil and vinegar on it making the sub soggy. I ended up eating the inside and throwing away most of the bread. My friend ordered the philly sub. She thought it was good. I thought again the bread got all soggy. I thought this location would be better than the other but not really Service was fine because we got delivery and for the price I think we will get subs elsewhere. I hate giving bad reviews. I ordered food tonight. It was a large order. We waited over an hour and were missing an item. The delivery guy told us that he had no clue where the pizza slice was located. I call as a slice a pizza was on the kids menu. The person that answered told me the slice was canceled. I asked why I was not called or informed. I was told the driver was supposed to tell you. North End Pizza is a tiny establishment in the Great Neck Village Shopping Center. The anchor store in this strip is a Food Lion. I had a couple of slices here for lunch on Tuesday and this is your typical middle of the road utility pie. Slices are large and very thin. The taste however is pretty neutral all the way around. Nothing stands out as great nor bad either. Just kinda ho-hum here it is. There's nothing special about this pie. What they do have a good lunch special and you can get two slices and fountain drink for $5.00. So proportion wise you're definitely getting your moneys worth. They are also other choices on the menu like subs etc. I was unable to find a carryout menu. To sum it up they're good for a once over. I would give them 2.5 stars if I could. Maybe you'll like it more than I did. If I lived near here, I would probably use them every now and then but in my opinion they're definitely not worth going out of your way for. read more

We just received an 18" pizza from Northend Pizza Great Neck for $26 including tip. It took 45 minutes for us to receive a floppy, greasy, cold clump of dough and sauce that needed to be cook another 20 minutes. Of course, being starved we ate it. i will NEVER, NEVER EVER ORDER ANOTHER PIZZA FROM NORTHEND. Used to be so good but has really declined! Recently went into the Great Neck location and ordered spaghetti and meatballs to go. The total was $15.48 but when I checked my bank account I realized they had changed me $2 delivery charge. We ordered the "garlic bread" which was just a very thin pizza crust with some butter/oil and a little garlic type flavoring. uh.. OK? Also a half cheese/half pepperoni pizza. The pizza tastes like the type of pizza you would get at the airport or food court at the mall- generally very underwhelming. My husband agrees with me which is really saying something because he likes Chanello's. Chanello's I say! As a foodie San Franciscan who also lived for 25 years in the pizza meccas of NY/NJ and grew up on italian food, my expectations for good pizza during my visit to Virginia Beach were (perhaps unfairly) low, but I was craving. Just ordered take out from here. Ordered two medium pizzas well done. One with pineapple and bacon and one with sausage and pepperoni. They came out GREAT! Getting it well done was a good for the meats. The sausage come crumbled which is nice and the bacon is crumbled as well which is normal. I have also eaten in here before, the place is small but is a nice place to go to catch up with a friend and chat. You can sit there for a long time without really bothering any one. You fill up your own drink and there are enough booths for other customers to come in and sit down. Overall, have made this place our go-to for ordering pizza.
