I've passed by Colapasta over the years and I was eager to try. We went on a weeknight and got seated right away. It was pretty busy considering it was a weeknight. They don't take reservations. I was confused since we weren't offered a menu, but we pulled up the menu on the website. We ordered the Gramigna Bolognese and Colonne di Pompeii. Important to note no bread is included and I don't think it's needed to dip into the sauce. The food came out faster than expected and looked amazing. I love a high quality pasta noddle and it was. The noodles were bouncy, but dry. The sauce on both dishes was disappointing. It didn't have much depth and didn't have many flavors going on. The beef part of bolognese was also lacking, I felt there should've been more and more sauce. Even with the burrata mixed in the other dish it wasn't giving enough. We also tried the tiramisu. I thought it was alright. Too much mascarpone, but espresso flavor came through.

We decided to come here for dinner with family visiting from out of town. We wanted a highly rated spot, and this place stood out. Unfortunately, the food didn't quite live up to the hype. We ordered the lasagna, corn soup, squid ink pasta, and Moringa agnolotti. The lasagna was phenomenal. The Moringa agnolotti was good but very rich. The squid ink pasta was extremely spicy--I don't recommend it. The corn soup, however, was very good and full of flavor.

Such a cute area especially for a lunch date, very like small shop, the waiters have personality and the shop itself has cute plants and little trinkets around. The menu is relatively simple. Colonne Di Pompeii - very cuten the noodles were cooked perfectly in a way where the sauce clung to it just right. The way the pasta got so bloated and was so big brought excitement Foaccacia- its good, but i think it was ao much pasta that the bread kinda got too carby Lasgana- actually really great homemade flavor and the pasta sheets were again cooked well. Overall, small menu but homey italian food vibes. I like the texture of the pasta.

Came here for my birthday dinner and was a bit disappointed with some of the food and even more disappointed with the service. The servers acted like they really did not want to serve us, and they were really rude when we were ordering, asking for extra plates, and asking if they did anything special for birthdays (they don't). Portions are not big. Cozy ambiance with nice plants outside. Found metered street parking easily on a Wednesday night. No reservations allowed. Focaccia: 2/5. I expected it to be fluffy and pillowy soft like how other places do focaccia, but it was honestly rock hard here and a bit too salty. Lasagna Classica Al Ragu: 5/5. Honestly the best lasagna I've ever tasted! Really good and well balanced flavors, just wish the portion was bigger. Squid Ink Bavette: 4/5. Lots of crab flavor with some crab bits on the side! The flavor was a bit one dimensional though. Moringa Agnolotti: 3/5. I only had 1 piece, but this is an extremely cheesy and buttery dish! It would definitely be too hearty and heavy to eat as your own dish. I really liked the cheese they used, but my brother and dad really did not like this dish cuz of how sour the cheese was to them. Colonne di Pompeii with Burrata: 3.5/5. Honestly one dimensional flavor in my opinion, but they were extremely generous with the burrata (an extra $6), and the pasta was very al dente. You can definitely tell they make the pasta in house. I would maybe consider coming back for the lasagna if a friend wanted to try this place, but I will not be returning on my own accord.

We arrived at 5:30 p.m. expecting a long wait, but were pleasantly surprised to be seated right away. To start, we ordered the focaccia. Unfortunately, it wasn't our favorite, it was a bit too hard, overly oily, and lacked the light, airy texture we were hoping for. We also tried the red beet ravioli, which had great flavor but was a little too oily for our taste. The stars of the meal were definitely the lasagna and the extra long fusilli. Both dishes were outstanding, rich, flavorful, and exactly the kind of handmade pasta experience we were looking for. While a couple of dishes missed the mark, the pasta was memorable enough that we'll definitely be back to try more of the menu.

What a hidden gem! All the pastas we got were delicious and gave such a warm feeling. They don't take reservations so best to get there early. The olive oil cake was also delicious

This place is a little small but cute. The outside sitting was nice and they had the heaters for cooler nights. Our waitress was really nice and knowledgeable about the ingredients. Most importantly the food was really delicious! I ordered the Colonne di Pompeii with burrata. I could tell the pasta was freshly handmade and cooked to perfection. The sauce was a spicy red sauce. I've never had long fusilli before but it was fun and interesting. I also opted to add burrata which was an amazing choice for a creamy dynamic flavor. My friend ordered the lasagna, which I sampled, and thought it was done really well! It's not easy to find a good lasagna. I will have to go back and order it for myself next time. Also, the lasagna is made with 100% beef, no pork.

Love this restaurant! The best Italian food I've had! Chef Stefano is a world class Michelin chef and is not only an amazing chef, but also very kind and humble. Loved the Casunziei/Dolomiti and I'm not even a beet fan! I highly, highly recommend their desserts! I love the moose tiramisu and their licorice style dessert that tastes like salted caramel. Best desserts on the planet! Bravo Chef!

The staff was helpful and friendly. Their burrata cheese was excellent. They have fresh pasta that is perfect. Cudos to the chefs and staff!!

Service here is insanely slow!!!! We were outside waiting for an hour on a Thursday night with a super disorganized waitlist and it was immediately evident why when we entered. They take orders very slowly and the food also comes out slowly. However, the pasta was amazing and almost worth the lengthy wait. Colonne was perfect spicy, acidic, and creamy with the burrata mixed in. I'd highly recommend this one, particularly with the burrata! Bucatini was like anchovy buttered noodles and tasted similar to clam but not as memorable. Their pasta is on the firmer side overall, which is my personal preference. I'd love to try the beet pasta (the brown butter smelled phenomenal) and the tiramisu! Would pass on the focaccia though -- way too salty and tasted stale.

I arrived right when they opened and I'm glad I did. This place fills up quick! I was greeted by the chef! Once seated Bianca approached me, I told her it was my first time, she sat down with me and literally went through the menu! I felt right at home and so cozy! I ordered the lasagna! It was amazing! The pasta was fresh and the layers so thin! Very good! If you're looking for amazing Italian food with a cozy, home feeling get here at 5pm!

10/10 what an experience. Showed up around 5:30pm and there was a 30 minute wait, not bad for a saturday night! ambiance is nice, outdoor seating has heat lamps, it is comfy and lively, but still feels very intimate. simple fresh ingredients, everything is cooked to perfection. great serving sizes, i was satisfied after finishing my plate, but still had room for dessert! tiramisu is flavorful, but not too decadent or overwhelming. love love loved the squid ink pasta with crab, sauce is rich and i loved the texture of the noodles and how the sauce clings to them. each bite was perfect, and i never wanted it to end.

thought this place was amazing! came here on a sat night w no res and luckily did not have to wait too long! we got the bresaola arugula e burrata (thinly sliced aged beef, arugula, and burrata) as a starter and this was unfortunately not that great... quite salty and dry but the pastas really turned everything around! the moringa agnolotti was in a very yummy truffle butter sauce which was heavenly! the pastas were pillowy soft with a nice cheese filling. the lasagna was unbelievable! the sheets were thin and every bite had the perfect combination of pasta, sauce, and cheese! this place is cute for a casual hangout or date night and their outside seating area is also very lovely with a bunch of plants! highly recommend!

Are there heaters on your patio dining area?

Yes, several. We never had a problem with warmth...enjoy your fantastic meal

How many tables do they have outdoors as of october 5 2021?

Approximately 7. Small restaurant. Exceptional food!

Do they take parties of 5? The outdoor patio doesn't seem very large

Yea they do I saw 7 inside

Have they created a desert menu yet?

I don't know about a menu, but I saw other tables ordering dessert when I went.

Did they get their wine and beer license yet?

Yes! Now serving excellent beer and wine at very reasonable prices.

    Are there any vegan options?

I'm not sure, but I'm pretty sure the salad could be vegan, and the pasta is home made, so if it's a real italian pasta there will be no eggs in the pasta, but please do make sure to ask them about it.

I'm a big fan of sitting at the bar. The happy hour prices are really good, some of the best in town. Just an FYI, the dirty martini is not on happy hour. * Burrata: It was good, but he doesn't like tomatoes which kind of takes away from a good burrata if you don't have tomatoes. * Filet mignon tartare: This was delightful. I'd order this again and again. * Pesto gnocchi: This was my favorite dish of the day. It was so light and tasty. * Salamino flatbread: Flatbread is always a good choice and the burst of spice from the salami was great. * Arancini: These were a hit. I really liked these a lot. And by bad it wasn't that anything was wrong some folks just didn't like their dishes. 3) my wish is that we had the ability to be seated inside With such a large party we were sat in the back patio. Which would not have been bad except: 1) it was in an alley 2) you had to walk past multiple dumpsters to get to it 3) if you had to use the restroom you had to walk past those dumpsters twice in each trip 4) it was a hot day and the sun had us sweating until it went behind the buildings I would like to experience the restaurant from inside and get to see the pasta being spun on the cheese wheel instead of hearing about it. But for outside Forma did the best they can to make it feel homie. The food was all very enjoyable. The chicken meatballs. The burrata. The arancini. I had the branzino for my main. It was good not great but I was full off of the appetizers. We all shared the Cacio E Pepe and it was enjoyed. The short ribs was ordered a lot and not loved but the pastas seemed to be the stars of the night. The desserts were good. The gelatos were refreshing specially with the heat. The apple cake a nice twist. For drinks they have an abundance of spritz options. No real cocktails could be made as all their drinks are prebatched. That was disappointing. Prices were reasonable across the board and a good time had by all. Our server was Anso and he and team did a good job. If I was scoring off the alley seating it would be a one or a two star. But some folks like it out there. It's less noisy than inside. So my rating is a benefit of the doubt four star. Next time I have to sit inside.
