Booked a shuttle, plane got canceled - got a confirmation call asking where I was / why i didnt mske the initial bus and was super hopeful given the appearance of NLTE really caring about customers. Booked again once flight rebooked and was sent a confirmation email that my ride was confirmed. No one showed up, and of course - no contact to be had. After desperately finding a taxi at 1am, I eventually got to where I was going. I do not recommend NLTE ever to anyone now. Communication is abysmal. I booked for 2/17 from Reno to Olympic Village. There was a blizzard, they cancelled and rebooked me for 10 am the next day. In the morning, it was still snowing at Tahoe so I texted from the hotel around 7 am to see if they were running. No response. So I went to the airport and waited for the 10 am shuttle, which never arrived. Some time after that, they called to say they were canceling all shuttles that day as well. I took an Uber and requested a refund . . . no response. I texted on 2/23 to request a refund . . . no response. I e-mailed on 2/26 to request a refund . . . no response. I'm now disputing the charge with Capital One. Update: they put through a refund on the 3/2. read more

If I could give a lower rating, I would. I scheduled a pickup at 3:30pm to make it to a flight at 6:40. Even accounting for poor weather, this is an abundance of time. There were no road closures to speak of and I was avidly following the traffic the entire time, so my following grievances are more than justified. Not only did my shuttle never arrive (I waited an hour after the delay), but my 35 unanswered calls during their working hours prior to and after the alloted pickup time are absolutely unacceptable. I will never be using this service again and I advise no one else to rely on it. I booked my shuttle 11 days in advance. I could have walked to Reno had I known my shuttle would never arrive. They failed at their one task, gave no calls ahead, and are still not taking any calls. I will be demanding a refund. There are better ways to lose 99 USD. Something is seriously wrong with this company. BEWARE! Do not attempt to use this service people. Absolutely NO customer service. NO way to get a hold of anyone. so if you have an issue with your schedule or if they don't pick you up etc..:you will not be able to talk to anyone. I gave them 5 opportunities to contact me back about a very simple question before writing this review. 1 email, 2 phone calls and subsequent voice messages, a text and a WhatsApp message. And they were allowed over 2 weeks to contact me back and I spaced out these contact attempts. (I plan ahead on my trips). I have never used them before and I was very to the point in my messages so it is not personal. I wanted to see about booking a shuttle 15 minutes after my flight arrived. My question was simple. If I miss the shuttle can I simply hop on the next one? Well no answer and they do not deserve my business and they do not deserve yours if they will not provide any customer service. I find it odd that somewhere like Tahoe does not have more readily available and inexpensive transport available from Reno airport. shame on this company for not having any customer service. Just don't do it! if I could I give negative stars, I would. the services are limited to North Tahoe, so I've tries to be patient but this genuinely is one of the worst services I have ever come across. Today was the 4th time in 6 months that NTE has "forgotten" to pick me up. Fortunately on previous flights I had enough buffer in to make my flight but today I missed mine. I needed to change the reservation but after trying multiple times by phone and text to contact them I ended up losing my entire booking cost--they have still yet to contact me! I waited 15 minutes past the expected time of my shuttle pick-up (which I received multiple confirmation emails for) and my shuttle was nowhere in site despite saying it was "coming in one minute." I called the helpline and they informed me that there was a mix-up and the shuttle was not coming. I ended up paying a ridiculous price for an Uber just to end up missing my flight. North Lake Tahoe Express refused to pay for my uber as well. The most frustrating part is that they confirm with you multiple times that the shuttle is on its way and then leave you stranded. At least give us a 10 minute warning saying it's late or not coming instead of saying it's coming and then letting us wait and not contacting us until we reach out. I recently made a reservation for a ride from Reno airport to Incline Village. I had to cancel one leg of my trip due to my traveling companions having to change their flight plans due to a fire in the region. They were flying private and I was flying commercial. We were going to ride to Incline Village together but their private flight wouldn't land. Even though I cancelled after the 24 hour deadline for a refund, North Lake Tahoe Express gave me a refund! I was so surprised. I did use NLTE to ride from Incline Village back to the airport and I can report the service was excellent. The price is reasonable -- $49/person one way to/from Reno airport to many of the resorts (Northstar, Squaw, etc.). My friend ended up taking a cab fro the airport to Northstar last night, and cost him $150. Ouch. Spoke with Deidra, and she was very friendly and helpful. Availability is very limited - only one pick- up time at 9:30 am. But driver Maurice was great; even helped me carry my bags in. Definitely recommend, and would use them again! read more

Booked directly from their website a week before my flight. Got email confirmation with instructions, so far so good. Fast forward to after I arrived at Reno airport, followed instructions to get to the counter, and found it no longer exists. Did not see anyone outside or the shuttle. I called the number, and they said they don't have any shuttles scheduled for today and I'm not in their system. I even texted screenshots of the email per their request but they still couldn't find me. While on the call, I saw a North Lake Tahoe Express shuttle drive past me, I mentioned it to the operator but she said they can't let me on because I'm not in the system. All they could offer me is a refund, they refused to send someone out. No apology, no remorse at all in the operator's voice, it was more like "too bad we can't find you, I don't know who you are, but I'll try to refund you if we find your reservation" I ended up having to pay double to get a rental car. read more

After the pickup experience, I should have canceled the trip back to the airport because of their terrible timeliness. But I didn't and it was with much regret. The pickup time was set for 8:45 AM to go back to the airport and I called at 8 to make sure they would be there in time. The lady on the phone claimed the driver was on the way, but I don't believe that at all. The shuttle arrived almost 1.5 hours late and almost missed the flight because of their horrible service. I had two very different experiences with this service. Our shuttle driver (Rich) from Reno Airport to Truckee was extremely accommodating after a misunderstanding on my part made us 30 minutes late for our scheduled pickup. Not only did he wait for us, but he safely navigated us through some very sketchy road conditions. That being said, our return shuttle to the airport a few days later was 2 hours late. Obviously the traffic conditions were difficult but it would have been nice to get ETA updates so we weren't standing at our pickup spot in 20 degree weather. Given it was a midnight ride, all calls to the company went straight to voicemail. Got an email and voicemail the next morning just saying 'we apologize we were not able to pick you up, we will refund the trip.' For a scheduled shuttled booked a week in advance, and no warning or calls regarding a change or issue. What atrocious business etiquette. DO NOT book with this company. Our hotel in Olympic Valley recommended this shuttle company ahead of our vacation. We booked the shuttle to pick us up at the Reno airport at 12:00pm. We waited until 12:30, and no sign of the shuttle, to call the company and inquire. They said the shuttle was 20 minutes away. We waited until 1:10pm to call again- no answer. And no shuttle arrived yet. By almost 2:00-- they still weren't answering our calls so we gave up and rented a car. If they had ever at least called us to let us know what was going on, that would be one thing. But to let us wait for 2 hours and no indication that anyone would ever be there to pick us up- it's unacceptable. I will make sure my hotel stops recommending this company. Had a rez from Reno to Palisades and back. Pickup at airport was delayed by two hours over a "driver issue". The trip back was on time, yet, due to a "driver hit and run", two van loads were crammed into a single van. Problem is there was no enforcement of mask mandates at peak of Omicron and with passé stuffed elbow to elbow. TERRIBLE. Do you not use this service. Our driver was extremely bizarre, calling his manager a "bi**h" and swearing about her while we were all in the shuttle. We waited for late passengers for over 20 minutes. Thus, the six people on the shuttle that were on time, we're late to the airport, missing, or very late to their flights. This whole situation was extremely disappointing and unprofessional. Disappointment was the word to describe this business. This outfit lacked people trained in customer service. It was my first time taking this shuttle service to and from Northstar. I did my research online and came across North Lake Tahoe Express. It is essentially the first thing that pops up when you type in North Lake Tahoe. I booked everything online although I remember that their website was somewhat confusing. Also, they have very limited pickup times so I did have to wait a considerable amount at the airport before getting picked up. Also, they called me beforehand to tell me that they were changing my times for departure a month after I booked. Luckily, the new times were still pretty close to the original times I booked. I have to admit that this service did get me from point A to B and back. However, it just wasn't smooth as planned. I remember reading on the internet that they had an office at Reno's Airport. Once I picked up my heavy snowboard bag, I proceeded to this place ahead of time before my scheduled pickup. A lady greeted me at the counter to give me the spiel about the pickup. As she was talking, I noticed a pile of other people's luggage being stored so I asked whether I could store my stuff there before my ride. What came out of this lady's mouth really surprised me. She said that I couldn't. She said that TSA doesn't allow stray bags at this facility. If I am storing my bag at your place, why would it be a stray bag? I told her that my bag was extremely heavy and lugging it all around the airport would be cumbersome. She finally let me store it with all the other luggage. I was pissed. I felt discriminated. I hate going to new places to experience this. I was waiting at the chairs that the lady at the counter told me to do 10 minutes before my scheduled departure. There was a man walking around checking people into the service, but he never came up to me. Again, I was not wearing camouflage nor invisible. Why did he go up to everyone else (there were only four people in the shuttle total) and not me? Finally, I went back into the office to inquire and another lady directly me to those other people and the check in guy. Ironically enough, when I dropped off my bag, the driver knew exactly what my name was. If he knew my name, why did he not approach me but everyone else? The ride was some old unmarked vehicle that made so many squeaky noises, it is questionable as to whether it should be on the road, especially during inclement weather. At least the drive to Northstar was decent. On my return trip, my driver was 15 minutes late. I understand that these drivers can be late, but I did not receive a phone call or any notification. I tried to call their office, but of course, no one picked up! Since it was raining outside and cold, it was quite unpleasant to be waiting. Finally, a little shuttle bus arrived with the name "Airport" on the outside. However, I had to go up to the shuttle bus and ask whether it was the "North Lake Tahoe Express." She confirmed this and proceeded to open the back door for me. I put the snowboard bag in the back and hopped on the shuttle. Now that I know what to expect, this is a decent way to get to and from destinations in Lake Tahoe. They should spend some money in clearly labeling their vehicles as the North Lake Tahoe Express like they do on their website. read more

Do not trust this group. They have failed to pick up too many people and now we are one of those. Could give no explanation at the time other than blame it on us. They never picked us up and 140 taxi bill later we arrived at our destination. Finally, after repeated phone calls they admitted that they had an emergency at the time they were picking us up. You could almost believe that except for the so many other people that this happened to. If your situation is time sensitive at all......do not use them. Unfortunately NLTE didn't quite live up to expectations. But that might be a bit mild. Let me explain. The shuttle was supposed to arrive at 4:25. We arrived early, at 4:15, ready for the flight home. 4:30 came and went; no shuttle. 4:45 proceeded just the same; no shuttle. 5:00 made it around: no shuttle. And! Not a word, contact number, or bulletin from NLTE! Called the office and was received by a snotty woman. She would have helped more if she had left me to the answering machine. All that she had to tell me: "It'll be there in a minute!" And what about the other 45?! It seemed that closing hours must have been fast approaching, as the woman obviously wanted to escape my dilemma to the ignorance of her off hours. Without so much as a sorry or goodbye she was gone. Not. Impressed. Unfortunately, we had a plane to catch, and NLTE was in danger of keeping us stuck in Tahoe. We waited, waited, waited! We couldn't wait any longer or we would miss our flight! We called a cab, ~$100 more expensive but infinitely more reliable. Finally, 5:30, our cab came. NLTE did nothing to help us set this up or resolve the situation they had created! We made it to Reno in time for the flight, no thanks to NLTE. Wish I had never found their corporation. I've had better service in every other country of the world, by every other service. Never have I been so disrespected on the phone, nor so let down by a shuttle service! All they have to do is show up and drive, and even this seems to be beyond their meager capacities. It's a shuttle!! Not rocket science! And the worst part: the fee was prepaid, and another call got no better customer service and not a cent refunded! Not only did NLTE not help get a taxi, locate a missing shuttle, or make connections with frustrated customers, the company took no responsibility for its actions and took the lions share of the profits. If I could give zero I would. NO organization at all. Made reservations yet no way to tell who should be on a shuttle. Sky cab hopped lines put their people in bus (because if they were already in the bus then their luggage had to go on) and we had to wait even though we'd waited almost 3 hours. Asked if they had any way to verify who should be on busses and was told 'it dont work that way'. You should know exactly who has reservations on the bus and that they're actually on the bus. We put our luggage on the second bus finally and got in. Anyone could have gotten on. So "glad" we paid for this service. I was exited to learn today that a bus operated by North Lake Tahoe Express called the Night Rider offers free rides between Stateline, Squaw Valley, Kings Beach, Northstar, Tahoe City and Tahoma. Wouldn't it make sense for regional transit to offer public transportation to the post-celebration masses? Over 15 calls, many dropped while I waited on hold, later, I finally learned that they might be running one extra shuttle, presumably until 1am. It took talking to 6 different people in their office to get this much information, and they all seemed pretty uncertain. Who in their right mind would rely on entirely uncertain service to get home on a late, cold winter night in Tahoe? Not me. read more

Absolute joke. Terrible, inconsistent service. They used to require 24 hours' notice to book a shuttle from Reno airport to the North Shore, meaning even if they had a van departing with mostly empty seats, they wouldn't take your money and let you on. Brilliant business model! This has led to fewer departures from RNO each passing year. So in response to loads of consumer complaints, what do they do? Now they require 36 hours notice to book a shuttle via their website. Thirty-six hours! PLEASE someone bring a legit Airporter to the North Shore. The only way to get to the Hyatt is to rent a car or take a super expensive Lyft. This company is the worst, as per all the negative reviews. read more

This business ended up costing me $150 and two hours. I arrived at the airport and waited 90 min for my pick up time. The shuttle never showed. To make matters worse, the customer service desk had closed down and I was stranded at the airport with no answers at midnight. After trying and failing to get info from anyone, I had to take a $150 cab ride to my lodging. The cab driver then informed me he had seen this happen with this service more than once. After contacting customer service, the rep admitted the driver never showed and offered a refund, but no compensation for leaving me waiting two hours and forced into the most expensive possible alternative due to the hour. Use other services. You'll pay more, but no more than you'd end up having to pay anyway, and at least you'll avoid the hassle. read more
