Brought my 2025 chevy trax in yesterday because the engine light came on. I bought this car 6 months ago , it has 8000 miles on it , so its still be under warranty. I was told it was an evap leak and to bring in back in the morning so I set an appointment for 7 am. I arrived at 655 gave them they keys and sat in the lobby for almost 3 hours waiting for some one to give me some info, until I finally went to ask about my car. I was told they just got to it and would let me know when they had some news. I decided to go home I stead of sit there getting angry. They called shortly after to tell me it would take until Monday to fix and they would provide me with a car rental on them since they didnt have loaners. 4 hours later I was finally able to pick up the rental only for them to charge me 100 dollars. Northside Chevy has given me a level of buyer's remorse previously unbeknownst to me in all my years. I went for a pre-used vehicle and was told it had been in a collision, but that the damage was minor and all repairs had placed the vehicle in good working order and passed all their checks. I noticed relatively immediately sometimes the trunk would "bounce" a little bit upon closing but didn't think much of it - this was the first vehicle I'd ever owned with an automatic trunk so I didn't know what normal looked like. Just a little more than a year later, the trunk stopped closing automatically. This seems a minor thing until I realized how hard it is to close manually, and actually became afraid that it would fly open in the middle of the highway. I spent $1k at my home dealership (I don't live in San Antonio) and they replaced the actuator and did some other work, but ultimately said the door wasn't latching properly due to the damage to the frame of the car itself. Again, we were told it was previously a fleet vehicle by our salesman and that it had been in a minor collision, but we were not made aware that the damage was that extensive to the frame. So I called Northside Chevy to see if there was anything they could do since in essence, they sold me a vehicle that wasn't fixed properly to begin with. I was told to bring it on by and they could take a look. So I drove 2 hours to San Antonio on a Saturday, dropped it off, and was called on Monday by someone in the service department that my car was out-of-warranty and would cost at least hundreds just to see what the problem was - to which I balked since I'd already taken it to my hometown dealership and was told exactly what the problem was. I wish my home dealership had a bodyshop but it doesn't, and in any case I still feel this is Northside's error. After relaying the service team's message to the manager who'd initially told me to bring it in, he assured me he would look into it. Another week (2 full weeks total) went by and no one from Northside had bothered to call me back at all regarding my vehicle. So I arranged for my brother to pick up my vehicle, and when we called to tell Northside, they said they couldn't find my car and took several hours and calls back and forth before they found it. Then they asked when we'd return their loaner, and we had to explain we didn't get one. To say I'm upset is an understatement. This is ridiculous. NEVER BUY USED from this dealership, they gloss over any work done and sell you at a rate and cost that is not much better (maybe even worse!) than buying new, and won't do a thing to help you should the previous "repairs" be lacking. read more

However, upon reception I advised it would be a 3-4 hour wait. I found this odd being walk-in clients also getting oil changes were allowed to go in front of me. Additionally, I drove to North Park Chevy and requested an immediate appointment; however I was told that would not be fair to scheduled clients. I don't even want to give 1 star but can't give less. I was screwed over from the time I stepped in the door. I told Jennifer what I was looking for and she brought around a beautiful 4x4. Went into finance and was hesitant with numbers, was told they would THROW in GAP and warranty. I buckled and signed. The next day the engin light came on. Brought it back they had it for 2 weeks. Got it back, the next day, engin light again. Took it back had it for a month. Contactacted general manager, he made sure it got fixed. Had to replace transmission. Got truck back had it for about a month and truck slowed to a crawl and made a weird noise. Called dealership they gave me a hard time so called another chevy dealership. They got me in next day. Thats when found out they didnt THROW in warrenty or GAP. They charged me $4000 for warrenty and $2000 for GAP. So warrenty approved the repair but had to have all fluids changed, tires rotated and a bunch of other stuff before would do repair. Ended up being rod in engin. I had to pay $2000 w/ interest came to over $5000 out of pocket. Plus $200 deductable. So at this time i had my truck in my possession for maybe a month total and had bought it 7 months ago. About 2 months later the compressor went out . Took it in, had truck for a month till fixed. You cant tell me they did not know this stuff was bad. I payed $36000 plus all the extra, well over $45000 for this truck. Now something with the AC is going out again. I do not recommend this dealership to anyone. i would give less than 1 star if i could. they sell lemons at north park chevy in Castroville. we bought a 2020 jeep in sept. had an issue the first night we had it. their "mechanic" said it was normal. turned out to be a clogged brake line. that was issue 1. then the aux battery went out. issue 2. then issue 3 was the actual battery went out. issue 4, the o2 sensor went out. now we are waiting on the parts to fix issue 5 which is the pinion bearing in the rear end that is fixing to go out. so we are pretty much at 1 issue per month of ownership with a supposed "certified" pre-owned vehicle. obviously certified pre-owned at north park chevy in Castroville is just their car manager walking by saying, yep this one looks good enough to sell. unless you have money, you want to throw away on a vehicle that will be very unreliable, i would stay far away from anything on the lot at north park chevy in Castroville, it is a definite fruit stand. read more

Despite my attempts to explain what my insurance told me or if it was necessary I could pay out of pocket, she abruptly ended the call, leaving me feeling frustrated and upset. She said she couldn't schedule my appointment because she was the only one there, like I don't see that as an issue. In addition to her rudeness, I was disappointed that she seemed to be misinformed about my insurance coverage and disregard me saying I could pay out of pocket. I have the relevant paperwork in front of me, which clearly states that I have the freedom to choose any dealership or repair shop that I prefer. Yet, she insisted that I could only work with certain providers, which was not the case. After the call ended, I attempted to reach out to the representative again, but my calls went unanswered. This lack of responsiveness only added to my negative experience with the dealership's collision department. I hope that in the future, the dealership's representatives can be more informed and courteous, and that they will take steps to ensure that customers receive the service and attention they deserve. I made an appointment for an oil change. The service guy was professional enough, but first thing he tells me that there is a sensing device as you drive into the service bay that indicated I needed a wheel alignment. Ok. I have over 82,000 miles and I probably did need an alignment. Later the service guy with a print out of an inspection summary recommending nearly $1500 of additional services. I declined to have any additional work done at present. Yes, some of the recommendations will have to be done, probably after the vehicle reaches the 100,000 mile range, but not until then. (listed on the summary as caution recommendations) I do want to discuss the 3 "fail" recommendations listed. First was the engine air cleaner, supposedly found dirty. I installed a new filter a little over 4 months ago and have put less than 4000 miles on the vehicle since then. Same for the cabin air filter, the third fail item. Nonetheless, When I got home I checked them both and there are very clean. The second fail item was " perform A/C system refresh service" because the air cabin filter was dirty (not my evaluation). For the service, the price tag for each filter was $79.95, and $179.95 for the refresh service, whatever that is. You can buy either filter for under $20. The last straw that prompted me to compose this review was when I got home and found my driver's side floor mat a greasy mess. I'm used to service places covering the seat and the floor to avoid transferring dirt and oil. Obviously, this didn't happen. I wish this review could include pictures. Thus, my rating is low because I feel the fail ratings were dishonest and the level of service needs improvement. read more

The 5 stars are for the kind gentleman that works in the PARTS department (KENNY). I took my vehicle into the service department and was told I needed a new battery amongst other services. The service person told me I only had one battery option for my vehicle because of a feature (which my car does not have). That only option was almost 400.00. It did not set well with me so I opened my Chevy app to look for batteries for my VIN and saw more options at a much lower cost. I went to the parts department and Kenny was able to confirm that there were other options and they had them in stock.
