Tonight we had only two dishes - hot and sour soup and general tso's/governor's chicken. We had never had either here before and loved both! The hot and sour soup was a very large individual bowl. It was nicely spicy with just the right amount of sour notes, beautiful whispy shreds of egg, thin strands of bamboo shoots, wood tree ears and small, tender pieces of pork. The only detraction was about 25% to 50% too much cornstarch/thickener. The general tso's/governor's chicken was great. Crispy, irregular s Wehaped pieces of chicken doused in a sweet and tangy brown sauce with a hint of spice. Placed a big order for pick up. Arrived to an unfriendly staff and it was so gross because I watched an employee behind the counter eating from the pan. I don't know if it was his dinner and he then put the noodles in a large serving bowl. He had a few more mouthfuls still behind the counter. I left before he was done. But really!!! If it was his dinner please go sit down and eat. Just sort of unsanitary. Got home and the order was wrong. One meal was incorrect. We get it it happens. I usually order for pick up from this restaurant and every time it's been fine. The menu is a bit overwhelming but the food is good. I'm glad I found a place for chicken pho! It's one of my favorites - the chicken is ok but I usually don't eat the chicken. I just wanted my pho in a chicken broth. The chow fun is good and the bibimbap is decent. Northpoint Chopsticks, you are so on point! We tried this place after I got a copy of their menu in the mail the other night and I was blown away by the variety of dishes that they offer. They have Chinese, Thai, Malaysian, Japanese(sushi rolls not included), Korean and Viet dishes. The Chinese selections are the typical dishes that we order for take out such as Orange Chicken, Stir Fry Vegetables, Lo Mien, Seafood dishes, etc. For Viet and Japanese selections, they have Pho and Udon Noodle Soup dishes. Thai menu section offers Lettuce Wraps and various Curry dishes, and for the Korean selections, pretty much all the famous Korean dishes are on the menu as well. It's a one stop shop for Asian cuisines! We got to the place around 7pm on a Tuesday night and there were a lot of tables occupied and a few people waiting for their take out orders. The place has a big parking lot outside as this is located on a mini strip mall near Jewel and right beside a pizza place. The inside has ample number of tables and chairs for dine-in customers although I would guess that they have a lot of following for take-out and delivery as well. We ordered SPRING ROLLS with SOFT SHELL CRAB, which was absolutely delicious! The sweetness of the mango blended well with the saltiness of the crab. Specially when you dip it in the sauce, perfection! I could eat this all the time:) The Korean BBQ SHORT RIBS were so flavorful and tender. KUNG PAO CHICKEN dish was loaded with fresh vegetables, big pieces of white meat chicken although I wanted it to be more spicy so I crushed one of the peppers and that made the dish even more satisfying. The VEGETABLE BASIL FRIED RICE was awesome too with fresh basil leaves, young corn, broccoli, jalapeno peppers and great flavors mixed in with the rice. Overall, I will definitely go back and try the other dishes that I've seen on other tables (yes, I do look at other people's dishes while I wait for my food, please don't judge)...Lettuce wraps, BiBimbap, noodles on broth, and many more and I will try their fruit smoothies really soon for sure! The servings are big enough to share and the prices are very reasonable. The service was friendly, fast and efficient...the place is clean and nice for dining in and it's BYOB with no corkage fee. I order regularly both for delivery and pick up. 9 out of 10 times they forget the potsticker and sweet/sour sauce that I specifically call and remind them to put in. Tonight I ordered thru Uber eats and again I called to remind them to include the sauces.... When the order arrived....no sauces !!! Worse....when I called the gentleman put the blame on me ...,I should have put in the order notes??!! I explained that that has never worked...therefore I called. He even had the note regarding my call to remind them!! He then went on to say that they now charge for the sauces??!! I ordered $40 in food! I don't get 2 little containers of sauce to go with my food?? Instead...he should have just apologized!!! Given that I'm a regular customer...I'm REALLY disappointed with his dismissive response. At the time of this writing, the kitchen staff was not wearing masks while preparing food. We sat in the restaurant and didn't notice until we had already ordered. At least four people in the kitchen you can clearly see cooking without a mask and shouting and possibly emitting spit into the air. The food was good, well worth the price. It's a snow day and m craving for some hot and spicy Chinese food. I linked up this place on yelp and found some good reviews said to myself why not. I ordered Singapore chicken noodles(med spicy) and chicken fried rice(spicy) for my brother To go. It took some 20 mins for em to reach that place from where I live and the food was already packed and ready by the time I reached ..which is good. Place looked not so big. I didn't pay much attention as I was hungry and wanted to run back home to eat. Quantity of food is good for the price paid. Chicken fried rice isn't spicy at all (despite exclusively asking for a spicy one) so it's a no for me. Noodles were okay on spicy level although I tasted too much something which felt like turmeric. I am not sure if recipe calls for it. Late then I wished I should have asked for side sauce or something to compensate on the spicy level. This is our favorite Chinese food place but honestly the bar is not high in our neighborhood. I would have given another star, or even two, if not for the surly gent who works the counter. Has a general disdain for his customers. You get the sense that he's doing you a favor by having your business. I recently realized that their online prices are higher than in-store. When I queried this, he answered in a condescending way, that online ordering is "always" more expensive than in-store, as if I was an idiot thinking otherwise. Online ordering is only more expensive if the establishment is using a third-party to offer online ordering. What a lunch find! Number one, the food is outstanding--absolutely delicious, piping hot, and obviously fresh and cooked to order. I am partial to the sesame chicken, but everything that I have tried has been first-rate. Number two, it's a wonderful value: for $7.95, you get soup, egg roll, rice, and a large serving of the entree of your choice. (Admittedly, the soup is superfluous.) It's well worth an extra dollar or two more than the average hole-in-the-wall Chinese joint (which is good in its own way, don't get me wrong) for a major upgrade in quality. But it's still cheap. We ordered Beef Chow Fun and Beef cubes in Tomatoes rice from North Point the other evening to deliver via Uber eats. It was close to their closing but luckily my order was approved because I ate my best take out meal. The chow fun noodles were crispy and veggies fresh and sauce flavor was incredible! The beef cubes were eaten the following day, and it was so so good! I usually go to Joy Yees, but this was way better with beef portion. Same great flavor and love their tomato fried rice. I heard a rumor that the chef or owner used to work at the notorious Joy Yee's in Chinatown and decided to open up their own restaurant. The menu is very similar and has several of the same dishes so the rumor might be true. You get the Joy Yee's experience with dishes from China, Korea, Thailand, and Vietnam without having to drive all the way to Chinatown which is great for those who live in the area. We ordered cumin beef, popcorn chicken, and Vietnamese vermicelli with grilled pork and each one of our dishes was made well. The restaurant is small with limited seating and gets full quickly. I've been here twice now and each time the food has been delicious. This last time we had the Kimchi Fried Rice and Green Curry Chow Fun happy hour special (I believe between 2 and 4:55PM). The Lunch special and happy hour specials are really good deals, the Chow Fun came with a Fruit freeze and was only $9 for both! I left with a satisfied belly that we had to walk off at Jewel. They have many different fruit freezes and milk teas, and in general their menu is pretty extensive. You're bound to find something you like here! Well hello "Joy Yee closer to home"!!!!! I'd hate to compare them but it's pretty legit. Our family recently vegan (3 weeks) we went with a big group on a Sunday which my husband declared his "cheat day". Service was great and although they have many vegetarian options they were able to accommodate to make them vegan for me. I tried to order a few tofu dishes and the server was knowledgeable enough to tell me that the tofu was dipped in egg before being dipped in batter. I also tried to order the tomato beef cubes with tofu instead of beef and she again was knowledgeable enough to tell me it's made with oyster sauce so I skipped that. Yet another venture off into a little bit of a unfamiliar territory when it comes to dining out. That's why I enjoy having the yellow book in my hands when it comes to that desired craving. I have been wanting to find more Korean restaurants since my favorite place to eat Bibimbap closed down a while ago. I read good reviews on North Point Chopsticks and wanted to try it out. I ordered the beef Bibimbap and it was really good. The vegetables were on point and the beef was flavorful. The sauce you get on the top is pretty spicy but I enjoy spicy foods. It is so filling and I always feel satisfied after I eat it. I have been here about two or three times already the past month and I highly recommend it. I have only tried the Bibimbap but I'm sure the other food items are tasty as well. The pricing is decent, I paid about $20 for beef Bibimbap and an order of kimchi; pretty big size. Love that there's a place similar to Joy Yees in the north suburbs! Always like to order the cubed beef over tomato rice and the Tom yum soup with shrimp. Both are legit dishes and consistently delicious! Recently also tried the beef chow mein, and I like the fried noodles with sauce. You get a little bit of the crunchy texture kind of like aldente pasta. The kids loved their bubble tea as well.
