So, this place is basically a dental farm. Real talk- they're one of the few dental offices in the…read morearea that takes Medicaid or state child health insurance. Due to that, it can be a bit of a mad house with long waits. But- the staff are all exceedingly kind and upbeat, friendly and respectful. Like, exceptionally so. They do everything that needs to be done. Thorough exams with x rays and the dentist takes time to address any concerns. And despite the crush of people they serve, the place runs like a well oiled machine. The staff all seem to work well together and it seems like a happy work environment. Can't complain and they deserve some recognition.

I've spent over 10 years working as both a dental assistant and in dental management, and I can…read morehonestly say this was one of the most unacceptable experiences I have ever witnessed in a dental office. My son suffers from severe dental anxiety, and I made that abundantly clear to every member of the staff--from the front desk, to the hygienist, to Dr. Hodge. What should have been a simple procedure lasting less than an hour turned into well over two hours of unnecessary stress and trauma. During the procedure, my son repeatedly said he was having trouble breathing and was visibly distressed. Instead of stopping to assess the situation or reassure him, Dr. Hodge responded, "If you can yell, you can breathe." That level of dismissiveness toward an anxious child was completely unacceptable and immediately raised concerns about the care he was receiving. The X-rays showed small cavities on teeth #7 and #8, along with a natural gap between those teeth. By the end of the procedure, not only had his gums been cut, but the gap had been completely closed, leaving tooth #8 noticeably larger than #9. This is especially concerning considering he has already been referred to an orthodontist specifically for spacing issues. He walked into the office with a minor cavity and left with an altered smile that was never discussed or explained. The trauma didn't end there. As the dentist aggressively attempted to force floss between the teeth using a finishing strip, my son's gums bled excessively. There was blood throughout his mouth, and he was visibly uncomfortable. Then came the most disturbing part of the entire visit. After the procedure was complete, the dentist and assistant had already removed their gloves. My son asked for more water so he could rinse the blood from his mouth. The assistant then picked up the saliva ejector with her bare hands and proceeded as though she intended to place it back into my son's mouth, despite the active bleeding. As someone with extensive experience in dentistry, I was absolutely stunned. Basic infection control and cross-contamination protocols exist for a reason. This should never happen in any dental office. Even more alarming was that neither the assistant nor Dr. Hodge seemed to recognize this as a problem when it was brought to their attention. That lack of awareness is just as concerning as the act itself. I left this office angry, disgusted, and deeply disappointed. My child trusted this team to provide compassionate, competent care, and instead left traumatized. As a dental professional, I know exactly what I witnessed, and I know that it fell far below the standard of care and infection control that patients deserve. I would never recommend this office to anyone, especially parents of children with dental anxiety. This experience was unacceptable from start to finish.

I had an urgent need to…read moresee a dentist and was thrilled to find an office who was willing to schedule an appointment so quickly, so I jumped on the opportunity, but the front office was super challenging to work with. They were nice, but impossible to get ahold of over the phone. Kept having to leave a message and then wait for a call back. My employer had an issue transferring corporate insurance over, so it required some communication on Aspen Dental's end, which was lackluster at best. Most of the time when you call, you are leaving a voicemail. Sometimes you'll call, key in and follow all the prompts to the point where you should be able to leave a voicemail and then it just hangs up on you. This happened multiple times. In addition, they were supposed to call in my prescription 2 days prior to my appointment. I wasn't able to make it to the pharmacy the day prior and work a full time job. Was already taking 1/2 day for the appointment & guess what? They didn't call it in when they said they would, so multiple phone calls again to CVS & Aspen Dental. Ended up missing what I had planned the night before because of it. Also, BE CAREFUL! They recommended a variety of filling replacements. Said they were old and should be replaced. Unless I have a cavity forming under one of them, or it falls out, um... no thank you! They wanted about $1200, $900 of which was just recommended. My insurance would have covered some of that, but still. I've never heard of a dentist replacing fillings before. They try to squeeze extra money from you for services you don't really need, so don't fall for it! When I finally came in for my appointment, I waited an hour & finally asked how much longer. Turns out the front office forgot to tell the doctor I was there. Ug! Doctor was nice/professional and I really liked all of the dental hygienists I worked with. But I probably won't be going back. Customer service is not great at all. If you can't answer my phone call sometimes, fine, I can understand that, but not answering phone calls ever means I won't come back. That's unacceptable in my opinion.

This is the best dentistry office I've ever had. They have every amenity you could imagine,…read moreeveryone is friendly and my teeth have never been healthier. I made an appointment after a friend referred me. I complained of tooth pain, thinking it was a cavity. My 1st appointment was only $45, for xray and exam. When I arrived, there was a little confusion as how to pronounce my name, but that got corrected quickly and I was taken on a tour of the building and I immediately felt valued and I decided right then and there this was going to be my new dentist's office. Now, there are a handful of practitioners here. 1 DDS and the rest seem to be DMDs, but after a bit of research, I found that there is no difference in training; unlike the difference between a MD and PA. So, we came up with a dental plan and I felt satisfied with that first visit. I was even gifted a little welcome bag that had a branded figit spinner in it. I thought it was going to be a lame toothbrush or floss. My next visit was my cleaning. Full disclosure: I had not had a proper teeth cleaning in over a decade. While I was ashamed of this fact, no one passed judgement and I'm 100% sure they'd seen worse. They offer movies, Netflix, music, adult fluoride (my favorite part because many dentists don't offer it after a certain age. Bubble gum is still my favorite flavor), laughing gas (if you need it). And after my cleaning I got ANOTHER gift bag, this time with a toothbrush, paste, floss and a sticker. In another fun and cool surprise, I received a handwritten note in the mail about 2 weeks later--a friend became a patient of Reynolda Smiles after I referred her and the office sent TWO $50 gift cards for Reynolda Smiles. One for me and one for another person I'd like to refer. So unexpected and generous. Here's to happy, healthy and clean chompers!

After I brought up my complaints, the dentistry terminated my whole family as patients-- yes, you read that right. I was verbally harassed and when I seeked help, they took that action (hm?). Extremely unprofessional, they're there to save each others backs. Avoid the drama (unless you like to tussle and struggle to be treated decently...then this place if for you!) I seriously recommend everyone, but especially my community, to seek treatment where they will be respected and can get their procedures without so much baggage! AND make sure to check your receipts and that they're charging you and/or insurance for the right things!! That's another thing to watch out for (yikes). I'll end with this: remember that YELP doesn't allow businesses to delete reviews and that Google does! stay safe
