I have been going to Dr. Luma since her practice opened. Majority of my friends and family go to her because she is that amazing. I have read some of these comments, and I have to say I am shocked people could even have the nerve to write what they have. One of Dr. Lumas best qualities is that she takes the time to sit down and talk about what needs to be done. The prices are listed on all treatment plans and Dr Luma doesn't scare or force you into anything. Dr. Luma will explain to you what work needs to be done if any, and what the worst case scenario is if left untreated. Her chairside manner is kind and gentle (which is refreshing since most dentists are not). A lot of these "bad" reviews seem silly to me. When I read yelp reviews that say "my other dentist said XYZ" that makes me think either the person bounces around and is a bad patient, or that the other dentist is lying to keep a patient themselves...both cases have nothing to do with Dr. Luma. And then when I see people complain about prices.... clearly they have money issues which a lot of people have, but I bet these same people buy a lot of unnecessary items in life. Most likely these people are looking for a handout. Again when a dentist gives you a treatment plan upfront there really shouldn't be an issue. Always makes me think these types of people hop from practice to practice trying to get free service. Basically I know a good 50 people that use Dr. Luma and not a single person has had an issue with her. All things I said earlier are completely true. You will not meet a Kinder, more gentle and knowledgeable dentist. read more

My experience with North Shore Dental has been very positive. Dr. Luma is patient and gentle. She took the time to educate me so that I could take better care of my teeth. Dr. Luma was the first dentist to instruct me in a better method of teeth brushing and flossing. I was surprised when she told me how I should brush on an angle. She also cleaned my teeth very thoroughly and methodically and gave me tips on how to improve my dental health in addition to explaining the dental procedures that would most benefit me. She was professional and friendly. It seems like she actually cares about my dental health and tells it how it is. The office is very clean and has a nice atmosphere. I can tell the doctor strives for quality and looking for ways to improve and incorporate new advances into her practice. I'm looking forward to my next appointment. read more

After skipping the dentist nearly 10 years Dr. Luma and her team took care of my wife and I. From the start she and her staff put us at ease and put us on a path to better health. The new practice is beautiful, cutting edge, clean, and relaxing. Everything is digital and being in the chair is easy having music or Netflix or whatever I want on the screen. It's such a great place I actually look forward to going there Maybe most important, they took the time to explain the treatment plan to my wife and give her the calm and confidence to get on a great path to her oral health. I've been a patient of Dr. Luma for about ten years. I read some,of the negative post that some people have written and I couldn't disagree with them more. Dr. Luma and her staff has always been friendly, courteous and most importantly professional! I've never had anything other than positive interactions with her and her staff. As far as someone accusing her of "padding" the quote in hope to increase revenue is plain laughable. In the ten years of our working relationship her character is without question. I was unsettled at the insinuation that she is gouging customers. Through all the years I have known her she would never do such a thing for the best reason of all - she would consider it a personal affront to God Himself. I would recommend anyone to go see Dr. Luma. After two years of seeing her, she still tries her best to make sure you are comfortable throughout each visit. She actually listens to your problems, is very knowledgeable, and does a great job. I have seen multiple dentists over the years. She is the best yet. Dr. Luma's dental office is located in a family friendly Uptown Park Ridge neighborhood. She is an excellent dentist and patients comes first for her. CEREC same day crown and bridges saved me a lot time from making multiple trips. It does not require the discomforting gooey stuff in the mouth to take impressions.
