Classic Breakfast Plate (2 eggs, sausage, potatoes, whole wheat bread, salad)
    Samantha G.

***Opened 4th of Jul 2025*** We arrived around 8:30 AM. The restaurant was busy when we were there, but not as much as we'd expected for the holiday, thankfully! We were seated right away. Ambiance: plenty of tables for people to grab a sit down meal. However, there were plenty of people that ordered to-go at the counter as well! Food: The breakfast was good. Plenty of food. My husband really enjoyed the breakfast potatoes and how they were seasoned.

The staff were really nice, shook my hand, very friendly. The Spanish Latte was one of a kind--a great drink to start the day. I loved my cheeseburger. The melted cheese was chef's kiss! The ambiance is family friendly and inviting.

The Scarlet Vetter says....I needed a fast infusion of protien for breakfast before the start of my conference, and I had an hour to spare so I looked up the closest breakfast place and was directed to this restaurant. It was a short walk, so I headed off to the restaurant. When I got there, there were plenty of seats and the waiter directed me to a table that I didn't like, so I asked to sit at a different table, and she said that was fine. The waiter asked what I would like to drink and quickly brought me coffee with milk and a nice big carafe of water. Then, I waited for quite some time before she came back again to take my food order. I asked for the ham and cheese crepe with a side of three poached eggs. The waiter told me they don't offer poached eggs. I pointed out to the spot on the menu where it said that poached eggs would be served in one of the dishes (eggs benedict). I asked why I couldn't get them poached, and she said because they only make poached eggs for eggs benedict. That seemed very nonsensical to me. The crepe was not the best I've ever had, but it wasn't the worst either. When I was unable to order poached eggs, (because you know, they only make them for eggs benedict) I substituted fried eggs over medium, and they were actually decent. The crepe was decent and had alot of ham in it. It took fifteen minutes to get a second cup of coffee and by then, I was pretty much ready to leave so I had to gulp it down. No real ambiance in the dining room, but it was clean and the waiter was pleasant

Beautiful little hole in the wall restaurant! I've been eating around Boston for the last four years and never knew this place was here. I love that everything is halal; it really brings a peace of mind during selection as someone with certain dietary restrictions. Everyone here is so kind and our server was extremely attentive. Can't wait to come back!

This little gem may be small but it's mighty. Well worth the wait and service was great! The Breakfast Burger was too legit to quit and the potatoes were chef's kiss! I also had an iced coffee that did not disappoint.

Cozy diner in the heart of downtown. The space is tight, but the food is tasty and at a good price. They serve classic breakfast and brunch dishes, my favorite being the potatoes and the strawberry smoothie! Overall, it's a solid and no frills dining location. Felt very homey and had a good experience!

Me and my wife have a good time the best place.

I want to do a review of Café 26 as the best place for breakfast in Boston. The service, flavor, and staff treatment are 5-star. Everything is fresh, even down to the smallest details--everything prepared exactly how you ask, and their recommendations are a dream. A warm, family-friendly atmosphere. % recommend . Tg !!!!!!

We went here for brunch on a Saturday. With a party of 2, we were seated at a table, which was smaller than the other surrounding tables. I ordered the Classic Breakfast Plate. None of the food was seasoned except the home fries. There was no dressing on the salad. I had more issues with the service. The server did not get us water until after the bill came. After paying the bill via credit card, i was surprised to see on my receipt that there was an option to save money on the bill if you paid by cash. The server did not mention this to us at all. My plate was $15, as there was a $2 charge for sausage. Portion sizes felt small. I had also tried the Peach on the Block smoothie, and it was too sweet.

Such a great alternative to Cafe Bonjour. We took a chance since the line was so long across the street and we were not disappointed. The food was great and so were the prices. We got an omelette and shashuka and both were tasty and very healthy portions. I also got an iced oat latte which was really delicious.

I almost did not eat here, but I am so happy I did. The food was fantastic and the service was so fast! They offer a wide variety of breakfast items. They were a little expensive, but I found it to be worth it. My western omelette was so tasty and cheesy ( a must for an omelette). The pancakes were crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. The potatoes came from a well seasoned grill! You can taste it. I was a little upset when they left the door open to air out the smoke from a burnt meal, it was 20 degrees out! I was freezing while I was eating. Besides this minute detail, I was very satisfied with my meal from this tiny eatery.

I came here 4 times when in town for a conference, as this way super conveniently located to the conference center (Menino). It's open 7am-10pm daily, is always seemingly busy but always very efficient and fast to deliver orders, and has a huge amount of comfortable seating. First visit: I tried the vegan breakfast burrito ($12), a nicely designed burrito with tofu, potato, spinach, roasted red peppers, vegan cheese, and mushrooms, served with salsa on the side. Very solid burrito. The Spanish burrito I tried another day--which came with vegan meatballs of some sort--was even better. Second visit: I got an açai bowl ($9 for the small size; $12 for regular), and added vegan protein powder ($2) blended in. It came with açai blended with almond milk, banana, strawberries, blueberries, and granola. Real good and plentiful even for the small size. Third visit: just ordered a bagel with vegan cream cheese that had tomato in it, and added some spinach on top ($5.50 total). Very generous spinach portion (for $0.50!), well-toasted bagel, and an appropriate amount of cream cheese. Very tasty. Moreover, each time I visited, I ordered a double espresso ($3.50), which was excellent. Proper espresso, deep body, strong, served with sparkling water and a piece of dark chocolate.

The Platters, both the breakfast and mezze are gorgeous. Pictures attached. The interior has ample seating and is bright and beautiful. We walked into a space that mixes communal tables, stadium-style seating, and smaller spots to sit, making it a place where you can stop in for a quick drink or stay longer with a laptop. The interior design is one of the biggest highlights, giving the cafe a more elevated experience compared to a typical coffee shop. The tiered seating in particular creates a visual dynamic that makes the room feel more intentional than your standard coffee counter. The drinks are the main focus here, especially the matcha, hojicha, and espresso-based options. We ordered the hojicha latte, which was one of the strongest items on the menu, with a deep roasted flavor and a smooth texture. The matcha has a more traditional earthy profile and leans less sweet, which works well if you prefer a more authentic matcha taste. The drinks are on the expensive side, but the quality of the ingredients and preparation make it feel more like a specialty cafe experience rather than a standard coffee stop. The food and dessert options add another reason to visit, with items like the egg sandwich, quiche, macarons, and hojicha desserts available depending on the day. The menu is smaller compared to a full brunch cafe, but it pairs well with the drinks and gives the visit more of a cafe-and-pastry feel. Service is friendly and the staff are knowledgeable about the drinks, which helps when choosing between the different Japanese tea options. The cafe can get busy, and seating is limited compared to the number of people who come through, but the layout gives it a unique character. Ogawa Coffee works well for specialty coffee and tea lovers looking for a more intentional cafe experience in Boston, especially if you enjoy Japanese-style drinks and a thoughtfully designed space.
