I stopped by during a Sunday morning around 9am and there was about a 25 mins wait to get seated. I ordered the egg Benedict with salmon($18) and a pumpkin latte($6) with almond milk(+$1). The coffee came out in about 7 mins and the main meal took about 25 mins. The hollandaise sauce was absolutely delicious. Eggs were cooked perfectly and were dippy when open. The smoked salmon went well with the overall dish. Potatoes were crispy and seasoned well, and the salad was light. After the meal I felt full without being to bloated. The Scarlet Vetter says....I needed a fast infusion of protien for breakfast before the start of my conference, and I had an hour to spare so I looked up the closest breakfast place and was directed to this restaurant. It was a short walk, so I headed off to the restaurant. When I got there, there were plenty of seats and the waiter directed me to a table that I didn't like, so I asked to sit at a different table, and she said that was fine. The waiter asked what I would like to drink and quickly brought me coffee with milk and a nice big carafe of water. Then, I waited for quite some time before she came back again to take my food order. I asked for the ham and cheese crepe with a side of three poached eggs. The waiter told me they don't offer poached eggs. I pointed out to the spot on the menu where it said that poached eggs would be served in one of the dishes (eggs benedict). I asked why I couldn't get them poached, and she said because they only make poached eggs for eggs benedict. That seemed very nonsensical to me. The crepe was not the best I've ever had, but it wasn't the worst either. When I was unable to order poached eggs, (because you know, they only make them for eggs benedict) I substituted fried eggs over medium, and they were actually decent. The crepe was decent and had alot of ham in it. It took fifteen minutes to get a second cup of coffee and by then, I was pretty much ready to leave so I had to gulp it down. Beyond expectations in every way! A Spanish latte w/sweetened condensed milk was like a new taste of coffee heaven. A tomato based shakshuka with plenty of perfectly toasted bread. We went here for brunch on a Saturday. With a party of 2, we were seated at a table, which was smaller than the other surrounding tables. I ordered the Classic Breakfast Plate. None of the food was seasoned except the home fries. There was no dressing on the salad. I had more issues with the service. The server did not get us water until after the bill came. After paying the bill via credit card, i was surprised to see on my receipt that there was an option to save money on the bill if you paid by cash. The server did not mention this to us at all. And it came with one of those little Smucker's breakfast syrup packets and a butter packet, which was a bit of a cheap look. $15 was a fair price. I also got a party cocktail smoothie ($7), which looked great from the description based on all the fruits and froyo that were blended in there. However, it ended up being too sweet and not that enjoyable. The cafe has a standard mid-quality cafe kind of environment. It has a decent amount of seating inside and is conveniently located near the Common. Our waiter was not particularly friendly though. The service speed was okay. My goal was to find a good breakfast spot while visiting Downtown Boston that offers tasty food and coffee but that would be filling enough since I was going to do a lot of walking. I was initially deciding between Café 26 and a breakfast spot across the street but saw that this café didn't have a wait which initially worried me because the spot across the street had a long wait. I'm so glad we gave it a try because this turned out to be a great spot. So good that we ate here for breakfast both days. There was no wait, and even if there is...people usually pop in and out pretty quickly. The first day I ordered the build your own omelette with a mocha latte. The following day I ordered the French toast with strawberries, Nutella, and whipped cream, and another mocha latte since I liked it so much. So pleased with my selections. Both days we didn't have to wait and we were in and out pretty quickly to continue our day strolling around Boston. This café is small but big enough to accommodate. Seemed very clean. The only complaint I had the first day was it was warm inside the restaurant because they don't typically run their AC and we went during a warm week. Other than that I have no complaints. The service was good. The café is in the middle of downtown, so not sure on the parking, but you would typically walk here. Good breakfast spot you should def check out. read more

I would only give the food 3.5 stars but the speed at which they made my order earned them an extra half star. They were generous with the strawberries and bananas on the French toast. Eggs were bland so I had to hit it with the little black pepper packet that came in the utensil baggie.
