I bought very expensive aftermarket bulbs but discovered the front bumper must be removed to change the light housing which I also wanted to replace. I saw this body shop had high stars on Yelp so I called to ask if they would perform the work. Their immediate response was "no" and "we don't do that kind of work and only install OEM components." I kindly asked " do you recommend anyone else that will do this work for me?". Immediate "nope, you'll just have to call around" They were about as helpful as a broken fence post and could care less in my opinion. My next phone call was to Underhood Automotive. Immediately helpful and professional. Chris said they do this kind of work all the time and install DOT legal headlights on older Shasta County Search and Rescue vehicles. Every single question I asked was answered. I live 4 hours away from Redding so coordinating this was somewhat of a Challenge. Chris even told me my mom's car had loud squeeking brakes and he would inspect those as well. Strong Automotive has high stars so I'm guessing their body work is pretty good but customer service is also very important and in this department, they have a long way to go.

Quoted a "quick fix," performed unauthorized work, charged $530, and refused to explain the bill…read more I would strongly caution women in particular before coming here. Very rude and dishonest about charges. If you don't understand car repairs, you could easily be taken advantage of. I have no doubt I would have been charged even more if I didn't know how simple this repair should have been. Unprofessional, unauthorized charges, and extremely disrespectful behavior. Before bringing my car in, I clearly explained the issue: a specific electrical A/C problem (turning on/off). The system was already working and recently serviced. I made it clear I only needed a quick, straightforward fix with no unnecessary servicing, and that I would not bring it in if he planned to service the whole system.Chuy said he understood and that it would be a quick fix. The only charge I authorized was a $150 diagnostic fee. Despite this, after I dropped my car off, he performed and charged for an A/C service I did not authorize, along with additional unapproved work. On Tuesday, he called while I was rushing to class and told me I could not call him back shortly after, forcing me to have my dad call. After that, he avoided communicating with me and instead kept saying, "I talked to your dad," even though I repeatedly asked him to speak directly with me. By Wednesday, the issue still wasn't fixed, yet I was already told it would cost around $300. He later said the repair would take less than an hour, but my car wasn't ready until Friday. When I picked it up, the total was $530, meaning $380 in charges were added without my authorization. He provided an invoice, but it did not include a clear breakdown of labor vs. parts and was sent to my dad instead of me. When I asked for an explanation, he refused and said, "Let's call your dad, he can pay the rest." Even while I was paying with my own card, he asked if my dad was going to pay and told me I was being "emotional." He then said, "One day you're going to grow up and learn..." I also noticed multiple 5 star reviews describing him as "honest," which is difficult to reconcile with my experience. If you don't have a strong understanding of car repairs or pricing, I would be especially cautious and make sure everything is clearly authorized and itemized in writing. This raises serious concerns about: $380 in unauthorized charges Unauthorized services despite clear instructions Misrepresentation of cost and scope Lack of itemized billing Refusal to communicate with the actual customer Dismissive and sexist behavior This was a simple repair that should have been quick and affordable. Instead, it took 5 days, cost $530, and involved unprofessional treatment.I would strongly recommend going elsewhere.

Disappointed as in when calling them, I asked can they remove the lug and stud that was damaged, I am not asking for anything free, I already purchased 4 new tires.I wanted them to take off what they had broken. And they would not, I had no other work done. He was the last to remove and replaced back when I paid for that service.( changing brakes) Did not pay him to damage and not honor what he clearly messed up. I really believe he did that because I told him I would purchase my tires somewhere else, Because his price was way over charged. Beware lady's being taken advantage of. Not a business i would reccomend. And if you do go there have your work check by someone else because they are not very reputable.

Let me share you my story…read more We were on a road trip from the SF Bay Area to Seattle and back. That's about 2000 miles (probably more including the side trips). Needless to say, I had our diesel BMW X5 checked before leaving the Bay Area. When we got to Redding, CA, the dreaded check engine light (CEL) came on. So, we were frantic not knowing what was wrong with our car. Also, we had no idea what shop to go to. Can we find somebody knowledgeable and with the right equipment to work on a diesel X5? Can we find somebody honest enough who'll tell us exactly what's wrong and not charge us an arm and a leg? The universe must have been on our side because we found Steven, the manager (or owner) of Angelo's Classic Import. With Steven, all our fears were gone. They have a very updated shop with all the equipment needed to diagnose our car's problems. We found a very honest person in Steven who charged us honestly. (Turned out the issue was minor and he charged us only $20!) How I wish his shop is in the Bay Area because I would drive the whole length of the Bay Area just to have the privilege of me becoming his client for life! Try his shop and I'm sure you'll experience the same type of excellent Customer Service as I did! Thank you Steven for your service!

BEWARE You Will Be Scammed Here: This is a scam shop that will rip you off. This is not a family…read morebusiness it was taken over by the original owners son who is nothing but a crook. They depend on customers who don't know about complex European cars, systems, and programming/diagnostics to rip you off. When you bring your car here they will charge you a diagnostic fee, perform no diagnostics however, tell you the repairs will be thousands of dollars to get your car running again. I was personally told the problem was a small module that flailed and would cost hundreds to replace then given a diagnostic report stating it would cost $3000+ to replace entire vehicle computer systems that failed and require replacement to get my European car running again. I asked repeatedly for diagnostic decision trees to verify how they came to that conclusion. They were unable to verify their own diagnoses. Towed the vehicle out of this scam shop and put in a $150 fuel pump that was the issue. The service is great! The scammers are nice! And the shop is clean (they don't actually work on cars here just diagnose expensive scams). It looks like a legitimate business but you will be scammed. Business owner responded trying to say it's not their shop which is just more deception. Beware of this shop.

Is the owner, Rick, charming? Yes. Does he explains everything in detail. Yes. Does he change…read morethings without contacting customer. YES. I had R&R rebuild my 1991 suzuki sidekick. $9000. They sent the engine to A & I. So initially when I decided to do this little adventure with Rick and Kevin all was well. I mean there were some red flags, like not getting back to me ever, everything taking FOREVER, and a bit of the mansplaining but I let it slide. When we started the rebuild Rick wanted to replace the clutch. He had a certain one in mind which was higher performance. We also assumed new alternator and starter as both were failing. So I called every few weeks and it was taking a while and then the day finally comes and we go get her. Rick shows us some stuff and off we go. We are supposed to put 500 miles on and come back. We get home and park. There is oil dripping out everywhere. I call and they tell me that they started it without an oil plug in and it blew clean new oil all over the engine. No, they didn't clean it up but I can bring it back and they will. Next day I try to start it to do that...won't start. When it finally starts it is making a horrible squeal. Shut it off immediately. Call Kevin and he says I should have it towed in. I should. They came and got it after I was like nope dont think so. So before they come get it we are looking under the hood...they didn't replace the old ass starter, the alternator ( original 1991) or the clutch. I ask Rick about clutch and he says to me, i couldn't find the one I (he) wanted. Im like wtf. I ask about the other things and he says if we did all that it would be too expensive. So I want these parts replaced. I think asking the customer WHILE YOU HAVE THE ENGINE OUT might be your play but Rick didnt think so I guess. So my partner goes down to shop and says hey...we want the new parts but we dont think we should pay shop time just pay parts. This is because, again, they had the engine out, they could have called us to ok parts or not but chose not too. The next week I talk with Rick about a time line, he says has to order parts. I call the next week he says parts will be in Tuesday. So I call back (parts should have arrived Tuesday I call wednesday). Kevin says it will be three more weeks. I ask why and he talks about getting it back on the lift etc. I mention to Kevin what Rick said about parts in by Tuesday so why 3 more weeks and Kevin gets upset says he can have Rick call me but I noped out of that because at this point Rick is being a dick about the whole thing. So Kevin calls my partner the next day to say car is ready. No idea what happened to 3 weeks because he didnt call ME about MY vehicle even though I am the only one who has signed anything or paid anything. Whatever. I call Kevin back to get the total.... $960...wtf? Partner calls Rick and he literally has a little tantrum on the phone (it was on speaker phone):and says fine you dont owe anything. I would have left it there but my partner went down and paid for the parts that they jacked up (doubled) the price on. So my take on the whole thing is that Rick and Kevin are nice if you never challenge them or ask them to take responsibility for anything they fucked up. What a shame. Hard pass on this place.
