I've in the past few times called in to speak to the staff at meat department and produce department and each time they pick up and professional. This visit I wanted to grab some cherimoya at $9.99 lb. And roasted chicken in the deli section. Chicken was hot ( wonder if they had other flavors ) I only saw one type of flavor . To my surprised at the deli area I saw they had wedding cookies , one of my favorites and not many places have it. So you best bet I grabbed a tray to try . I love Stater Brothers. I just wish it wasn't so busy all the time especially at night. Our community needs another local grocery store, so for now we all cramp inside and weather the long lines. For the amount of traffic and sales they have for being the only one of 2 grocery stores in the 2-3 mile radius, they can really afford more cashiers especially during holidays and rush hours. Aside from that, they have a great selection and most of the staff are nice. I like the hot food counter and appreciate the bakery. read more

When adults say they "hate kids these days" this is what they mean. This bagger was perfectly set up with an insulated box of perfectly folded organized grocery bags lined up with the creased sides facing up with the handles neatly tucked away so he could grab 1 bag at a time to fill it quickly. Nope!!! He dumps the entire box of bags into the child seat and fills the box with groceries expecting me to then lift the heavy box from the cart into my car. And then I'm left with 25 stray bags!!! I had a great experience with a checker at this market (receipt shows Joe S). Was friendly, efficient, and genuinely welcoming. Even with the lines down the isles, he stayed calm and kept the line moving quickly especially with no one helping him with the bagging of groceries. I needed some ripe avocados for my ceviche. I was still down the hill so I took advantage of my presence in case the supermarkets up the hill don't have them. Luckily, this Stater Bros. Market had a few ripe avocados so I got them without hesitating. Wow, the price of avocados have gone up. I got 4 avocados. They were tiny though. Staff at the register was nice. Do you have customer service training courses? This would attract more customers, instead of being ignored while spending hard earned money on my food. The Stater Bros. In Loma Linda is so great on customer service. Employees smile and are so helpful. Perhaps the manager at Stater Bros. on Summit in Fontana ought to take lessons from their manager. Not only are most of cashiers on Summit talking among themselves complaining about other employees, but can't even acknowledge the customers. I thought it was just the checkers but it comes from the top down. As I was leaving the store with my cart, the manager was moving a cart and cut right in front of me without even an excuse me. This review is specially for their bakery department. I use to be a big fan of Costco's buttercream cakes, until I had a slice of cake from the Stater Bros bakery. The best cake I have had is their white cake with whipped cream frosting and raspberry filling. The frosting is like a combination of whipped cream and Betty Crocker/Pillsbury frosting. I have a sweet tooth, so I don't mind the sweetness. The vanilla cake itself is moist and light. The raspberry filling really compliments the cake and frosting. I really like white chocolate, so the white chocolate shavings was a bonus. I haven't had any of their other cakes, but whenever I bring this take to parties, it's a big hit. Now, this cake isn't always readily available, so I recommend calling and placing an order. read more

I was hesitant to write this review but today was the last straw. The staff here are so rude, obnoxious and must think the customers are there to bother them or something. I'm not sure what is going on with the staff but there's been new people at the registers in the past couple of months or so. They talk amongst themselves and don't greet the customer nor even look people in the eye or at them. No thank yous after you check out. Bag "boys" are just as rude. Workers in the aisles and produce stocking also never smile nor say hello, they stand in the way when you are clearly trying to reach for an item. My visit here at this stater bros location has been unpleasant the last couple of times. The cashiers have a lack of courtesy and bad attitude. Specifically Mariah, who refrains from greeting customers time in and time out throughout the entire interaction. I was enjoying the start brothers app. I'd order for pick up. My last pick up order included extremely expired chxn that smelled so bad even the package of cheese they placed on top of it smelled. I had to discard them. I called the store and spoke with Javier whom promised me i'd get a refund on 6/28. It's 7/4th and I haven't received a refund. I spoke with store manager Israel who stated I'd have to call back tmrw because they're extremely busy. That's poor customer service and I feel that they are avoiding to give me a refund. I have lived here over 22 years and depend on this store for 90% of my grocery needs.... I will start with a bright note in the meat department... There is a very nice lady with beautiful red hair and a smile that will brighten anyone's day... Professional, knowledgeable, and kind... I love when she tends to my husband and I... On the other hand I was in check out 3 as you can see from my receipt and was never acknowledged by either one of those women... Other chains have invested in self checkout registers but not Stater Bros. I hate self checkout, but it's better than waiting in line for half an hour. I reviewed many business. And this location is one of the best grocery stores around. Are they perfect? Well no one is, people like to complain about employees, the charge of grocery bags, etc. These people are usually petty, or looking for discounts, or free giveaways. This location should be very proud of its management and employees once again no one is perfect. The food section is great. The ambience and or cleanliness of the location is great. Ok so I had gone to the store before 10am to get only two items and as I go to get in line at one of the 15 items or less check stands there's a lady in front of me with way more than 15 items. 33 to be in fact. So I asked the checker if the 15 item rule stands and she states that they are not allowed to say anything to people who don't follow a simple rule and cause a problem by ignoring this. So I said they should just take those signs down because there's no point in having them is there? In other words people who do not or cannot follow a simple rule such as this get rewarded by being let to do whatever they want and those who follow the standard are punished. It was completely rude and uncalled for and really I expect better. But I guess those who feel they are special and privileged over others get what they want and do whatever they want and no one says anything. This is why people take advantage of these kids of things..... nobody has the guts to say anything. That's the world we live in and I suppose even in a social setting such as a grocery store they also get to do this. Really not what I expected. Stopped by on 12/16/2023 after a early lunch at Chilis to get some items. Got some help in the produce area with the flowers very nice and helpful young man he was walking by and answered my question not sure if his dept or not. But the 1 star is for Angelina who was my cashier! All bad! Coke products were $3.99 mix and match all the tags there she wanted to argue with me that I couldn't mix and match the Coke products bottles and cans when the price clearly said you could. The cashier next to us over heard and said yes you can. So strike one for her & strike 2 as she is ringing me up she is running her fingers through her hair and touching my groceries! That's a big NO NO! I looked at her in disbelief but after the sodas I knew she really didn't not care!
