Took my ram 1500 here for a smog. They gave the truck a thorough check before releasing it. Got me in fast, and out in about 40 min. Staff was really talkative and chill guys. Hope to get my cars, and truck service from them when I need it. read more

It's not a glamorous spot, but for a smog test they are friendly and get you in and out quickly. While I always dread getting these things done for my car it's nice to have a dependable spot at a price that doesn't break the bank. Paul was very knowledgeable and kind. We took both our vehicles for a smog at the same time. Paul was attentive and had us on our way within an hour. It was cold outside but my family and I were able to wait comfortably in his office area where it was warm and clean. This smog test center is arguably the best in natomas. They get you in and out quick as possible. Prices are clearly stated in the office. Waiting room has plenty of space. As long as I live in the area and this place is open I'll be returning. read more

I came in a bit late in the day, I think about 20 minutes before closing, so I wasn't expecting to get my smog check done. I was wrong. They had me in and out in no time, no problems with the DMV, all was good! Quick, efficient, friendly, and drama-free. These guys have it down. read more

Fast service and yelpers get 10 % off. I was there 10 min and out. The man at the counter I think use the chief cook and bottle washer because he was the one to greet me, Check my car, And send me on my way. If you only need a test, Then you can't go wrong. read more

There are lots of other smog places right next to this, but came here since there wasn't a line. Good decision because the guy who helped us was pleasant, polite, and quick! I suppose the only thing I can rate for a smog place is how clean, how fast, and how polite they are. Northgate Smog Test Only Center didn't disappoint. Fast service read more

I HATE getting my vehicles smogged- it costs a lot and makes me so anxious. So when I got the notice that my mid-90s F150 was due, I scouted around of places near my work that wouldn't cost an arm or a leg. I called over to Northgate Smog Test Only Center to see if they had a long wait at lunchtime and what they charged. I found a coupon online and drove over there. I was the only one there, so no wait whatsoever. My smog was done so fast, I assumed my truck had failed. Not so. I was in and out in a jiffy with a clean smog. The guy working there (assuming it was Paul) was super nice and friendly. I know exactly where I'm going the next time I need a vehicle smogged. read more

I am very hesitant to give a person 5 stars. But in my personal opinion if you are looking for a smog wether you're driving a Mercedes benz, Toyota camry, Diesel truck, or F150 it does not matter this is the place to go! He is a no nonsense guy gets straight to the job and is pretty quick even when busy. I have never had an issue at this smog shop and ive been going since 2016 multiple cars read more

Parking space here is limited, so be prepared for that. When I got here, there were 2 customers ahead of me, one finishing up a smog check and another just had his car towed here for repairs. I was helped within 20 minutes after arriving and was here a total of about 40 minutes total for smog. Again, great and quick service. The waiting room isn't too bad. They have a huge tv you can watch as you wait, magazines and a few chairs you can rest at. There's also a huge window where you can see into the bay. There's also masullo pizza next door if you want to eat while you wait, but the technician might be done with your car before the food arrives. Pricing is average for getting car smogged, and they do take credit card. I'll continue to go here in the future.

They replaced a driver-side CV axle, did oil changes, replaced brake pads and rotors, diagnosed and fixed an A/C and heater blower issue, repaired a trunk/liftgate problem, and also replaced a valve cover and gasket and battery. What stood out to me most was how knowledgeable, honest, and fair Samson and his team were throughout the process. The staff are friendly, the front desk is welcoming, and the customer service has been great. It's hard to find a shop that does quality work at reasonable prices, but 916 Auto Repair has done that for me. Definitely recommended.

My AC Drier was cracked and inoperable since last year. In this region of the Sacramento Valley and Placer County, 916 Auto quote beat 5 shops I contacted in the region and 1 shop even told me it's not worth it and I should get a new car. Bet if my car was a 69 Camaro, they'd do it. Why? Cause its a Classic Camaro. No matter the condition. Some shops don't want to work on Imports. But oh well. Their loss, not mine. I contacted 916 Auto and spoke to Samson to schedule an appointment and he said to come by that very same day. And so I drove from Roseville to Gold River that morning. Samson is honest & to the point. When he pulled my car in, he noticed a coolant leak. Now I didn't notice any leaks in my driveway, as it would seem the Coolant is evaporating or dissipating, but he notice it was getting on my Alternator, by the stains. It turns out, my OEM water pump (factory part since 2003 for this model year in 2004) finally gave out at 262K miles. Who'd ever think a Mazda/Ford part would last this long. This was an unexpected thought as I only had budgeted for the quote. So I called my CFO (Wife) and let her know of the issue. She said get it fixed and she'll adjust other expenses as she knows I need AC for the upcoming summer temps. So I authorized Samson to proceed with the entire job. Now I can't couldn't do any price comparison, but he did give me a discount which still fit in my overall budget. I spent my whole day in their lobby. They have updated their lobby to make it feel more comfortable and less Auto Shop feel. I notice the many people who drop by to have their car service are all happy and are returning customers. From a Dealership oil drain plug that was torqued too tight, to oil changes, brakes, and even a customer who was a bit upset where the Dealership sent the wrong part twice. The Dealership. I spoke to many of them and they all had the same answer when I ask. "What made you come here?" They replied, "Their price can't be beat!". In summary, my AC is now working as it should. Now I only used my AC for 2 whole days It gets cold and it has been awhile since I have felt cold in my aging car of 22 years. With my new water pump installed as well, my car is running smoother overall. Smoother shifts, heater gets warm fast. Almost, now almost like it was in 2004. So, Did I find a new shop for my Project Commuter Car? Yes I sure did. They have gotten a new customer. Up next is my Transmission Gasket & plug. One thing at a time! Finally, he noticed that a previous mechanic had removed the plastic shroud for my front wheel wells and failed to install new clips to secure the shroud afterward. I had wondered about the gap he noticed for years, but I didn't realize it was anything other than wear and tear. He replaced the clips for no extra charge. I know it seems like a small thing, but to me, it speaks clearly to Roland's character: I believe he genuinely cares about doing right by his customers and taking good care of their cars. When I asked him about some issues with electronic parts on my car (e.g. a digital dashboard display), he let me know that his area of focus was mechanical service and advised me to take my car to an electrical auto shop. I was grateful that he knew the limits of his expertise, communicated them clearly, and stuck to them. I felt his quoted price was quite reasonable, and even after he performed more work than requested (still within about a 1-hour time slot), he stuck to his original price quote. He spent 40 minutes prying at different parts and trying to forcefully remove my fuse box to get to the 100A fusible link that I had to tell him was located beneath and the assembly had to be unbolted to get to it from underneath. After 40 minutes of painfully watching him attempt to force things open. I politely asked him to stop as it was obvious he didn't know what he was doing and broke a few components off my housing. I tried calling him to let him know of the damages. He denied responsibility and said he was only at my house for 5 minutes. He told me to never contact him again and failed to respond to the before and after photos I sent. Do not trust this shady business. What went from a lb easy replacement of a 100A that I could have done myself but did not have the time to do so, resulted in several hundred dollars of parts in addition to more for labor due to gross incompetence. DO NOT TRUST HIM!

Northgate Smog! Seriously awesome. They got me in and out super fast, and everyone there was really cool and helpful. The guy who helped me totally knew his stuff and explained everything so I actually understood what was going on. And get this - their waiting room was actually nice! They had snacks, coffee, and drinks, plus the AC was blasting, which was a lifesaver. But the best part? They have this super friendly dog just chilling there who loves getting ear scratches. I know nobody likes to get there car smogged, but it was time to do so for registration purposes. I work throoughout the week and the only time i had was on Saturday morning! I called up and the person working there (Paul) was extremely nice and helpful. He told there wasnt a wait and to come on in. When I got there he got my car right in. He was very friendly and made the experience painless. I passed and was in and out in what seemed to be 20 min. I would definitely recommend Northgate Smog for Testing! Incredibly fast service. I was able to get in and out during my 1 hour lunch break (12pm-1pm). There were only a few people waiting.
