I had issues with my P0 420 code and without problem they scanned it for me. I had my code reset for a while, but it was permanent. They were able to get me to pass my smog. It was my first time there so it was free of charge and it was a great experience overall I'm so happy I went here and I definitely recommend. After a quick search on Yelp, I picked this shop based on their consistently positive reviews. Scheduled for Friday at 4pm and thought I'll probably be there a while. Boy was I wrong, I was in & out in under twenty minutes after handing off my keys and paying my $68. The customer service was super friendly, with the service technician even topping off my windshield wiper fluids and leveling my tires air pressure. The waiting room is SUPER clean and modern. With comfy chairs to watch tv, a small reading area for kids and high rises if you want to bring your laptop and get some work done. They offered cold complimentary water and had a wide screen tv for entertainment to past the time. Checked Yelp for reviews on smog check vendors and found Natomas Smog Shop. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive and it's close to home, so I decided to give them a try. I called first thing in the morning to see if I could come that same day. The receptionist was very pleasant and confirmed they could take care of me that morning. As I entered the office she was just finishing up with a client. She greeted me took my keys and said it would be about 20 minutes. Sure enough everything was completed and I was heading on my way within about half an hour! Unexpected courtesy I received was the technician noticed my tires were low and actually put air in them! Because I'm a procrastinator I waited till the last minute to get my smog done on my car. I had gone to 2 other places before Natomas smog shop and auto repair and neither place could accommodate. So I came here and they were able to get me into an appointment for that same day. Henry was great and so nice and helpful, I had such a good experience I booked an appointment for my husband's car to have the oil changed and air filter checked. Henry said they would do a full inspection and they also accommodated us bringing our car in much earlier than the appointment because we had work and other appointments at the time of the actual appointment. Their system was very easy to use and follow, we received a text message of their findings which led us to their website and each additional finding allowed for us to approve or decline the management and laid out all the pricing. I will say their battery was slightly expensive, but when looking at the battery online it was only about $50-60 more than market price. We had previously bought the cheapest battery and installed it ourselves and it just didn't seem like it lasted very long or worked all that well (not user error as we have changed our batteries in the past) so we approved the battery that was being recommended by the mechanic. On the way to the shop to pick up our car we picked up our mail which noted my husband's car needed a smog check as well so we called the auto shop to see if they could fit in a smog check and they were again very accommodating and even had to do extra work because when you change a battery the car needs to be driven for a bit before it will pass the smog test. But they did it all in one day. This auto shop was very clean, had a good size waiting room with bathrooms and a TV. We recently moved to natomas and I'm so glad I found this place because I will be using them for my front line car needs, if they can do it I'll be taking our cars there. Made the appointment for my 2010 Honda. by 5pm the end of the same day. I got into the car back and Turned on the air within 5 minutes. It was blowing cold air + 8 minutes very very cold By 10 minutes The air coming out was painfully painfully cold freezing Overall conclusion: 3 months ago I went to Firestone Auto center in West Sacramento and was quoted $1,400 for everything including items that weren't air condition related After notomas 's. Smog shop looked over there quote and took out the nonsense. B******* at least $900 and that even included they're brand new condenser unit and all air conditioner work done. A little expensive. Every repair that I've had done on this car and previous have not only worked correctly. I have not needed a follow-up for correction that's why I have all my work done at this place Like how many times have you been to one place? We used to always take our cars to their respective deals for oil change and repairs, however since I discovered Natomas Smog shop we haven't been back to the dealers in years! I love that Natomas Smog shop is local, convenient and they provide all around excellent customer service! ' In the front, Trinh is always prompt and responsive via phone and email. She welcomes customers and gets the checked in efficiently I love that when she calls, she provides detailed updates and I trust her recommendations. I believe the mechanics at Natomas Smog shop do a good job on the cars. Recently we had a smog check, new rotors, new brake pads and brake fluid exchange done on our Pilot. We also had an oil change and minor repair to the skid plate on my Corolla. Both cars were inspected for issues I reported and the repairs were done. I trust the mechanics and believe Natomas Smog shop's prices are fair and less than the dealer. They did a diagnostic of my vehicle (free of charge) and found some things that need to be fixed. I got a quote from them on the cost to repair everything and it seemed reasonable. I am writing review as a concern. I came here to get a tune-up. When I got there the person who does the check in was not there, they were late. So the mechanic checked me in and had me sign a paper that I dropped off my car and with what work I wanted to be done, which was a tune up and, radiator and transmission flush. I got the original quote and it was for around $850. Wow! So I just asked for the tune up and I was quoted around $250. And when I got there it was $383. All they did was apologize for the misunderstanding. In addition, they showed me a picture of one of my coils that needed to be replace, which I agreed.m, that costed me an additional $250ish.so I left with paying $610. Ok, fine. Lesson learned and advice for people who want to come here. Get a quote via email or paper, not verbal. That's not the worse part. I came home and drove it the following day and my battery and my check engine IMA light came on. Prior to the tune-up, everything was running fine. I don't know if something didn't connect or whatever. I did call them and they were flexible that they would run a diagnostic test, which they did the next day and they didn't even pop the hood to check anything else. they said it was my IMA battery according to the diagnosis text the the IMA battery is less than 5 years old and the other battery is less than 6 months old. Now I have to go to Honda to have them check it out, which will probably end up costing me more money and time to have them take a look. Just doesn't seem right. Once I get the diagnosis from Honda I will update this review. Lesson learned and I should fine with my gut especially since my car is a hybrid, go with the dealership... LoL As promised: here's an update. I went to the dealership and they found nothing. The did a through test. The codes were false. Seems a little strange from my perspective. IDK Anyways. I wish this business the best, but for now on. I'll be sticking with license Honda dealers/professionals... read more
