Ok, I love love this mall because I had the best massage ever; the kind that makes you say "I am going to give you a 35% tip, after this." The place is across from Finish line. I got the full body one hour and it is worth it. If you work out or need some really deep massage ask for the deep tissue, make sure they understand before they start so you can just chill out and relax; it is going to hurt so good. Moreover, there is a blaze, panda express, DQ and Macys; for me it is a good place to chill out and see what is trending, people watching and grab a snack or dinner. It has free wifi. read more

I am a mallaholic. But unfortunately a recent trip to this mall and I could probably swear off mall visits forever. It had been awhile since I had been to this mall but today, I thought I'd take my girls here for a change of scenery. BIG MISTAKE!!!! Except for the Build a Bear clone shop and Sanrio which my girls enjoyed, the mall had nothing to offer except for shops offering cheap and poorly made clothing, stuff you don't need, etc. It's not that I'm against saving money, but I believe that it is possible to buy a quality piece of clothing if you're willing to shop around. I come here often to check out the Disney store, sometimes Macy's, cruise to the back to go to Toys R Us, skip the Best Buy, and then eat in the food court. There's a Cold Stone Creamery too which gets my money every other time or so. The one thing I don't like is being forced to walk through JCPenney smack dab in the middle - hate that actually. Oh, there's a See's which I never eat at - need to do, a Zales I never buy anything at since the price of gold went so high and the Victoria Secret is not the greatest because their selection is small especially the lotions. There's not enough shade in the parking lot - need more trees! Oh, and there's a craft store across from the Macy's which I pop into once in awhile. Lots to do in this lot. read more

Honestly this review goes to during my experience on the WEEK DAYS. I never step foot in this place on the weekends because NO I can't handle the crowded and rude vibes I get being there plus the older Hispanic men who just stare at young girls there entire time there is just disgusting when walking around(may I add the screaming/crying children). BUT back to my main review when I actually go here today... The bathrooms are decent and the most(not all) of the employees are just rude when it won't even be busy enough for them to get that way. It is a chill place to hang out around(during the weekdays on day off and such) and the food court seems well maintained and the food is good. But in all, I would rather spend my time at the outlets or San Jose for my shopping and pick up better vibes. read more

My kids like to come to the mall, especially for those annoying moving animals. For me, I don't do much shopping here. I occasionally stop by Sears or JC Penney, mostly for kids shoes. Not much of a selections in clothing stores. Most stores are unknown and tend to disappear within months. The food court is too noisy and the restrooms are very unclean. The kids play area is a bit of a hazard for toddlers, since you have 12 years olds running around and not being cautious with the younger kids. The parents there don't seem to mind that their older kids are running into toddlers. Definitely swap meet feeling, with the fruit cups and horchata. You have Chavez Fruit, fruit looked good and saw that it was priced at $6 a cup. I pay and the man said it was $7. I asked why if it says $6, he said that fruit prices went up. Okay, I give him $7. He gives me a fruit cup which was more like chili cup with fruit. I told him that I didn't want too much chili, but he did the opposite. Not sure if he's the owner, but him and his staff need some type of customer service training. Never again am I buying anything from that establishment. So mad! read more

I stop by early sept to get a stroller for a baby and my todler. we had no idea we had to buy a specific car seat for it. so we decided to do the trade in. they didn't have the only one they carried for that type. the lady told us no worry we can order it for you and we will have it for you. we decided to come later in the month and purchase it. we went yesterdayand they didn't have it again and they said they could order it online but it was 20 dollars more. so they try to adjust it so we could get it at the store price. but they could not do a trade in. I was really disappointed. if they would only order it and have it in stock we could had good customer service. Its all about the bad service. the unwillingness to be helpful. i tried not to get mad because I'm pregnant but its not right. hopefully you get better employees. better policies to help a customer. read more

This is a good mall. I like the fact that it's indoor and there are plenty of places to eat and shop. Parking is easy, and if you're getting work done on your car, its a fast easy place to take a break . This place isn't as snobby as Del Monte, and I always find what I need there. The only downside is they closed their only bookstore. Bummer. read more

I don't think this mall is bad at all compare to other malls I've been too! It's very open and easy to shop with ease! There's plenty of parking u like the other malls will take you an hour to find a space.. And u can never find anything you want because all the food stuff would be taking! I don't know why people are hating. This is quite possibly the worst Macy's ever. It is reminiscent of an 80's KMart. I'm pretty sure it is the lowest tier of Macy's there is. The women's department is more like a senior citizen's department, without any name brand clothing. No Joe's jeans, Seven fr all Mankind, no BCBG or Tahari, or even anything remotely close. Most brands are Macy's brands like Charter Club and INC. Levi's takes over a huge part of the department, and the petites section and plus sizes take up most of the space. Downstairs you can find junior's clothing that you could also find at nearby cheap club-attire stores such as Styles. I would say that the Forever 21 down the mall is ten times better.. and that isn't saying much. They got rid of the Benefit counter, so you have to head to the mini (and also unimpressive for a Sephora), Sephora down the hall which resides in JC Penney. The men's department is similar to the women's. The labels are unimpressive and cheap. This Macy's is not a good sign of where Salinas is going. I will certainly continue driving to Monterey, Gilroy, and San Jose to do my shopping. read more

I grew up in Salinas and my very first job in high school was here at Macy's. Currently, the nearest mall to me is Del Monte but every now and then I head over to Northridge Mall if I need something from Sephora. I recently headed over there for the first time in a very long time and must say I don't even recognize this place anymore. It is pretty depressing and it is a perfect example of a fairly common trend right now which is the death of the US shopping mall. This mall isn't abandoned; in fact, it's crowded... specifically on Sundays. It's actually only been abandoned by quality stores. This place could better serve the community as a type of plaza but as of now Northridge Mall definitely resembles an indoor swap meet more than an actual commercial shopping center. I've read reviews that tell us if we don't like "Hispanic" people we can shop elsewhere. You know where else I like to shop? Commercial shopping centers in Mexico and guess what? They're pleasant. In any case, I enjoy a "tianguis" as much as the next person but my main issue with Northridge Mall is that you can find better customer service and a more amicable environment (people) at an actual flea market. It is for this reason that I give it a 1 star rating as both a commercial shopping center and an indoor swap meet. read more

visiting this mall was a painful experience. super ghetto. tons of ill-mannered children and parents. we went here on a sunday and it was more crowded than on black friday sales. some decent stores, but people weren't even shopping, they were just hanging out. inside and outside the mall. tons of unfriendly people. it was so loud inside (especially in the food court) that we had to leave. it was impossible to talk or concentrate. ughhh...i will never be back. read more

Really it's one star; it's a good place to buy tires and some basics but not a place to have fun shopping. It feels like a crowded, unorganized grocery store - especially with those garish, mismatched colors they used inside and out. I mean, bright red, blue and green beams going every which way on the ceiling?Not to mention the suffocating crowds with dozens of screaming kids running into you. This is NOT for Northridge Mall, per se. It is for the Boost Mobile "store" inside the Mall AND just for BOOST itself... UNFORTUNATELY, I have to go through Boost Mobile for my carrier as the rates are good and I am not working a full time job. Firstly, these people (I am speaking ONLY of this store at the mall) are ridiculously unfriendly, and as for one young lady at this establishment, I cannot name her as I do not know her name, is a real b***h. She needs a different line of work where she does not come in contact with people. Unfriendly, cold, nonsmiling......ack! Secondly, I get dropped calls, static, breaking in and out, cannot get reception at certain places where EVERYONE else is. When I purchased this phone and connection with BOOST, I was told that my town where I lived had the BEST reception around. LIES! I even went to another carrier to see if they could connect me to their service, no, my phone has no sim card so I could not get their service because of that, and a trade in was out of the question because the trade in price was sooo low.. I have a memory card or something or other. I do not know much about this stuff. I paid an exorbitant amount of money for my phone, but as I said, the price is low for unlimited data, text, calls, pics, etc. So I guess that old saying "You get what you pay for" is not something someone just made up!!!! Unless you are in my position and can't afford to pay much for phone carrier, DO NOT GET BOOST..I will muddle through this time grateful I at least have a phone and am able to talk to my loved ones. Reading all the previous reviews about this mall, I was really disappointed how it was mostly about the fact that many young people work here, the high Hispanic clientele, "not feeling safe" and the fact that its starting to look like a swapmeet. Yes, Northridge Mall does have a high number of young teens working here, i dont understand whats so bad about that, everyone has to start off somewhere and be grateful teens actually want to work! I have been working at Northridge Mall since I was 16 and I am currently managing a store here and I'm only 20 years young. I have had 3 different jobs here but I cant complain about them because they made me the adult that I am today. They taught me to be responsible and respectful of people, it has also opened other opportunities for me in the long run. Their is opportunity for growth here at the stores, so I highly recommend teens to come out and find a part time job here, I mean look at me I am only 20 and I'm already a store manager for over a year now. And the fact that there are teen "gang bangers" here at the mall and are making people feel "unsafe" is untrue, don't judge them by the way they are dressed, at least they are in doors rather than out in the streets getting into or causing trouble, so get over it! Salinas, CA does have a high rate of Hispanics/Latinos living here, so obviously you're going to see us everywhere and if that makes you feel uncomfortable, why are you living here? They're the ones picking your crops and doing all the hard work that none of you want to do. So let them be. They feel like coming to the mall to spend their money here and enjoy a day off, let them, its good for the economy anyways. But don't come out with that excuse that they make you feel uncomfortable when they're just sitting there eating their fruit cup and sipping on some horchata. I do understand when some of you said that the mall does need some changes, I agree. But just because they have kiosks and a kiosk where they sell fruit cups and aguas frescas does not make this mall a swapmeet. If you look at San Jose malls and others, there is kiosks like that and non branded stores where they sell cheap clothing, we're not the only ones. Honestly, the past 4 years i have been working here, I ALWAYS see mall maintenance walking around with their broom and towels every single day, all day. Yes, their is times when the restroom or the food court tables are a little dirty but its not their faults, its people with no manners, just relax because they're probably on their way to clean it, this mall is pretty big, think of all the places they have to clean as well. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but most of the reviews were all about hispanics and young people at the mall. Don't come here on the weekends if you don't like how crowded it gets, thats why its opened on the weekdays as well. This mall has been around for so many years and most Salinas residents grew up with this mall. Don't expect it to be perfect. The stores inside the mall, well that's a whole other story. Maybe I'm paranoid or watch too many comedy movies. I rarely shop at the mall but I just don't see the need for guards patrolling the halls and walking nearly into me after I shop at a store. Northridge is typical of malls in smaller cities. They're the new rundown downtown with too much space and not enough good stores that want to rent there. Most people shop at Harden or Westridge now, and really the local weather is usually too nice to want to shop indoors. As another reviewer said, do we need the mini police station that generates some tension if you have to stay all day to get your car fixed at Sears or Firestone? read more

This shopping location is so gross. It has gone down hill fast and whoever is running it obviously doesn't want to attract customers except for those that like to shop at swap meets. Now that the mall has new owners, there are a lot of positive changes. A few years ago, under the old owners/management, Northridge Mall began catering to hispanic community. Thats when the mall got really ghetto. Sorry not sorry. Huge crowds and loud music every weekend. No thanks. I made the mistake of going there one Mother's Day and the mall was hosting a special Mother's Day Event. Only it was entirely in Spanish! There was music and a host but other than that, I don't know what was going on because I don't speak Spanish. Its around this time that the mall started losing retail chains which were replaced with mom & pop shops & fruit stands. It had quite the indoor-swap meet feel. However in the last year now that there is a new owner, retail chains are coming back, there's a brand new JC Penny (with a horrible layout, and in typical Salinas style, it STINKS like sweaty socks and poopy diapers! )Anyway, there is even a new entrance that is almost complete, that will include new stores, restaurants and a bowling alley. I hope its worth the inconvenience that the construction has caused, you cannot walk from one end of the mall to the other without going through an inconvenient maze. read more
