If you're visiting Maui, Kapalua Ziplines is a must if you want to experience what a bird feels like in paradise! We did the six‑line course on a sunny but pretty windy day, and it was a blast. I arrived feeling nervous since it was my first time ziplining and I hate the drop feeling that roller coasters give you, but also excited to fly through nature. The lady at the front desk was friendly and got us all checked in. You have the option of putting your personal items that you don't want to carry with you in a basket which they keep safe behind the counter while you're gone for a few hours. Our guides were Dylan, Jake (who was in training), and Max, who handled the catching. We took a van ride up to the mountain, which was very rough and bumpy, but part of the adventure if you can handle that. When we reached the top, the view was stunning. Since it was a clearer day, you could see a lot of Molokai, and Lanai, which was special. After a safety briefing and getting geared up, the guides walked us through what to do in the air and what their hand signals meant. After we did the baby zipline course to get everyone comfortable, we took a fun jungle ATV ride through the beautiful nature to the longest zip-line course they offer! This was my favorite line that we did and it was 2,300 feet long! This is only part of the six-line course, not the four-line course. So if you want to do the longest line, you have to book the six. We flew over the beautiful scenery and it was awesome being able to experience each line in tandem with one of your friends or family instead of going by yourself. It just adds to the fun experience being able to fly with someone you love! I wore a GoPro on my chest to capture the experience, and watching the footage back was so fun. They also take photos of you on the course, and you can buy their package afterwards if you want. They play a slideshow of all the photos they captured of everyone after you take a bumpy van ride back down the mountain to the office, so you can see if it's worth buying or not. I loved that each landing platform had music playing, which kept the vibes fun and relaxed. There's also shade and water at every stop. If you're in a larger group (we had a family and another couple in our group), the process for everyone to zip down can take a little while, but since they send two people at a time, the waiting isn't too bad especially when you have such beautiful views to look at to pass the time. One girl in our group was too scared to do the longest line, and the staff handled it kindly, escorting her back without making her feel bad. We had so much fun flying through the air together over breathtaking views, we'll definitely be coming back! read more

This was such an amazing zip line! I will say the drive up and back down was absolutely horrific. Anyone with any slight back/neck/hip/leg issue BEWARE. It wasn't just a rough road it was so bad that I wish I had put on my helmet for the drive up. I can't stress this enough that had I known about that I probably would have picked a different zip line. HOWEVER, the instructors were really fun and got our group really acquainted with each other. Bri and Justin(I think) were our guides. They were welcoming, fun, and knowledgeable. Definitely give this a try but be very conscious of that drive in the van. lol read more

When in Maui, you must take a tour with Kapalua zip lines. I had the pleasure of doing the six line course on a beautiful sunny, although windy, day. I arrived feeling a little nervous but excited to be able to fly through the sky. Our guides were Dylan, Jake (in training) and Max as the catcher. We piled into a van that brought us up to the course. It is a very bumpy ride so please be aware of that. We arrived at the course and at the top of a large hill with a gorgeous view of Maui, Molokai and Lanai. We were given a safety rundown and fitted for for our zip line gear. We were told what to do and what certain hand signals meant while we were flying through the air. My girlfriend was very nervous and she was told that there was no drop feeling like a roller coaster but rather there's speed and landing is very loud because of the springs. I appreciated that we were told what to expect. My favorite zipline was the longest one at 2300 ft. My eyes were tearing up because of how fast we were going and the views were absolutely gorgeous. Dylan said you can get up to 70mph on that line! The feeling you get from flying through the air in the trees with the ocean in the background is unreal. My girlfriend had a GoPro strap to her chest and rewatching the videos of the zipline is such a treat. They also snap pictures for you on a digital camera and you have the option of buying the package if you want that too. I liked the touch of having music at the landing spot. It kept a relaxing and fun vibe going. They also have a shaded space and water with cups at each landing spot. If you have a large group it could take a long time waiting but I do like that two people go at once so it's less of a waiting game. We did have one girl that was a little too scared to do the zip lines and the staff were very kind and professional with her and they brought her back to where we started to wait for our return. Dylan, Max and Jake were all excellent guides, providing a safe space for all of us and keeping the good vibes running high. I will absolutely be back! read more

It was my first ziplining experience and I'm glad I had it with Kapalua. Their safety instructions were clear and I felt secure throughout the whole experience. There's a 4-line experience & a 6-line experience. We did the 6-line because the 4-line was sold out. The first line was an intro one that I appreciated. The second was the longest and tallest. My favorite was the last line of the 6-line experience. I hesitated on the first two ziplines, but I got used to it by the third. The rainforst view was phenomenal. You zipline through each course with a stop each. Each stop has water. There's no Vans and ATVs between the courses. So, no chickening out. The Vans and ATVs are only at the beginning and leaving. Restroom at the office, start of 1st zipline, and end of the 4th zipline (these two zipline are on the same stop). The ATV rainforest ride was just a ride to get to the ziplines. Nothing spectacular about it, it's a bumpy car ride. The Panoramic Suspension Bridge trek was pretty cool and probably scarier than the tallest zipline here. You walk half way to take a photo and walk back. They do have a photo package for $50, which they take of you during the ziplining and they show a slideshow of it before you decide to buy it. Our photos were pretty bad... I suggest bringing a go pro. If you want to be risky decide to just use your phone to take pictures or videos, attach it to a lanyard around your neck. Tips: Wear insect/mosquito repellent because this is a rainforest and one of the ziplines particularly passes a mango tree which attract insects. Wear cloths with zipper pockets. Be aware of the weight requirements, theres no refunds and they're pretty strict on it. Staff mention sometimes the kids do get stuck mid line. read more

Awesome zipline tour. Must do the 6 lines. Definitely felt safe the entire time which is obviously important. First line was kind of a warm up and then after an ATV ride up further into the jungle we did the longest line of the day which had us flying fast over a valley in the rain forest. During an extremely raining week with the Kona low hitting this was the highlight of the trip. A few water falls as well due to the rain. read more

As a first time zip liner, I have to say, it was an absolutely incredible experience!! The front counter staff were really nice and explained things thoroughly. My instructor, Kyle, was super personable & engaging. We had a very small group, so we really got to know each other. Everyone was supportive of me, the zip line newbie. Max, our "catcher," always asked how I was, after every line we rode...and patient with me as I figured out the rules to slow down. The van ride up was an experience in itself! Be ready for the bumpiest ride...along with the fastest, bumpiest ATV ride ever!!! Uncle George's "bad dad" jokes at the end were the cherry on top for the day! We did the 6 line adventure today. Our adventure guides were Brie and James. The adventure itself was a blast, but these two made even more fun and personal! The adventure includes 6 lines, the longest one being 2800 feet. The last one is steep enough that the heavier a person is (me at 230), the faster you go. I was hitting speeds of close to 60mph. The equipment is state of the art, and I never felt ill at ease! I highly recommend this company to anyone visiting Maui. As for me, I can't wait to do it again! read more

Danny and Kian were the best tour guides ever! I am personally scared of heights and they helped me over come that fear making sure that i knew i was okay and safe. WOWZA! As an avid zipliner, I've been all over the world. But this, BY FAR, was the BEST one!! The scenery was the most beautiful I've ever seen! I even thought I saw a whale, despite what my group said! We had badass female guides (go Natalie!!) (and Dylan) and I felt so safe and laughed so hard my abs hurt! My family and I had an amazing experience with Kapalua Ziplines! From the start at check in Brittany was welcoming and our guides James and Lawson were awesome! They kept us safe and made sure we had a great time-- even down to capturing memories for us with pictures and videos! We took our 10 and 12 year old daughters on their first ziplining trip and they had the most fun time. The Ziplines it self were great-- the view at the top of the mountain was beautiful-- we were able to see wild pigs, the ocean, and waterfalls. The dune buggy ride was super fun-- did wish we got to ride on it more though. It started raining at the beginning but soon went away but they provided raincoats for our whole family. Instructions were clear in what we needed to do. Another thing that was great was they all the lines were dual meaning you can go together with your partner, friend or sibling making it an even more fun experience! My husband planned this on the day of my birthday and I couldn't have handpicked any adventure over this. Dillon and Asa were beyond amazing. They made sure everything was safe, they were thorough in explaining everything, very friendly and just overall fun. They really took the time to get to know the group. Like any good trainer or employee, they went through it with you. They were willing to take pics if you wanted. The views were beautiful. The zip line started out a little scary because I hadn't done a zip line in awhile, but they cheered me on and I did it. We didn't buy the pics but we did leave a tip for the crew because they deserved it. I'd love to do this again if given the opportunity. The staff was super friendly and professional, and we got to experience 6 incredible zip lines, totaling over 8,500 feet, with the longest one stretching about 2,300 feet. The views were stunning, and I regret not bringing my phone or GoPro to capture them. Luckily, for $50, you can purchase photos and videos taken by the guide. They capture each zip line experience--6 photos, 6 videos, and several group shots, plus tons of beautiful scenery photos. There's even an amazing bridge where you can take stunning pictures.
