Skyline Haleakala Sunrise tour was one we will do on our own next time. Not because the tour was…read morebad, on the contrary, our tour guide, Billy, was incredible! As it turned out, the weather did not cooperate. It was about 50°, but with the 25-30mph winds, it felt more like 40°. The clouds were socked in one on top of the other, carrying with them some precipitation. Needless to say, the jackets that Skyline tour company provided were not only appreciated, they were an absolute must-have. There is no predicting the weather up there and you book your tour knowing there's no guarantee for a spectacular view. Though the view lacked luster, we still learned a lot about the mountain, the volcanic history, the plant life, and the Hawaiian culture as a whole. Billy also shared with us his knowledge for Pineapple 101. All and all, we had a great time but for the cost-reward risk benefit, we'll take our chances on our own next time. What is nice our 2 tour guides Liv and Breezy explained the rules and also let everyone if you change your mind about they will call for someone to get you. There are stages with each line you go on. 1st is the practice line to get you use to the commands from one guide our person was Breezy. Our other guide Liv locks you in and lets you know when to go and reminds you to look for Breezy's commands a starfish to slow down or hands on bar with feet out in preparation to stop. We had a fun group of people with very cool tour guides. With every new zip line you have a new adventure and feels like a roller coaster you get to control. Now my favorite line was the last one called the Screamer which was a longer run and if you do the cannonball you can go really fast . I've zip lined about 5 times now in Hawaii. This was the most intense and fast and furthest…read moredistance course ever. The harness' are by far the most comfortable I've ever used. Biggest downfall, all the hiking. It was straight up the mountain on this goat trail. Footing could be dangerous If you don't have good shoes, balance and pay attention. They give you a water bottle full to keep ( however not in the least bit cold). If you aren't in att least half way decent shape this adventure probably is not for you. It is a lot of physical work. Be prepared to sweat and breathe hard and carry yourself and that 10 pound trolley up the dang mountain with very little to no shade. The guys doing the actual Zipping with us were awesome! Fun and friendly! The guy at the start, when you check in and pay... let's just say he's a grump. Maybe he had a bad day, but we found his to be grumpy and just honestly rude. It's like he hates his job. Would Recommend and go again for sure!

Griffin, Tanner and Zoe were so helpful, friendly, and genuinely fun to be around, while also being safety oriented and making sure everyone was comfortable throughout the entire experience. You could tell they really cared about making sure we had a great time while keeping safety a top priority. One of our favorite surprises was getting to enjoy fresh snacks from the farm, including apple bananas, dried apple bananas and delicious tomatoes. Everything was fresh and tasty with plenty of water stations along the way. We even got to hold a chameleon, which was such a fun unexpected part of the experience. The views, the adventure, the guides, and all of the little extras made this a memorable experience for our family. We had a blast and will definitely be going back on our next trip.

This tour really celebrates the beauty and culture of the Big Island and our guide was the best to make sure we all understood what he was saying. Even though the zipline was fun, learning about the nature on the island and walking around was one of my favorite parts. The zipline was so cool though! It is a mix of starter and long runs. Having had been on zipline before, it was a good course with plenty of great runs where you got to see everything around you for a good period of time before slowing down and stopping. Between the zipline, waterfalls, hiking views, and all of the knowledge we were taught about the nature and beauty of the island, this tour was absolutely worth it. Don't let the dirt and dust keep you from this activity! They are great with pre training and safe and courteous. Two stops to get out and take pictures and get some water before you piss your wife off in the bumps and turns. While the equipment is dirty and used it all operated reliably well and it appears that they have good inventory and a robust set up to keep things going. I'm was immediately startled by the employee screaming and berating me saying that I could not look at the pamphlets and that they are for customers only! I was totally shocked as I went to this kiosk to book some excursions. This behavior was shocking and disgusting. Hopefully employee deals with their anger management issues. Someone with that demeanor should not be working in a customer service setting.
